Cornwall Furs
Cornwall Furs is a regional furry group centered around the duchy of Cornwall in the south west of the United Kingdom. It is a subgroup of the SouthFurs group.
Meets have been held in Cornwall as early as 2004, the original Cornwall Furries was only officially established as a standalone regional group by Foxiekins in 2009. In late 2014, this group merged with a small bi-weekly gaming bar furry meet run by Took for furries at Falmouth University and University of Exeter Cornwall Campus, from here it was decided that there was enough interest for the group to officially begin running its own regular furry meets for the region and discussions started to establish rules, staff and organise the groups first official meet. The first official meet for the region was run on the 13th June 2015 in the city of Truro. The meet was a chilled out meet and greet/potluck picnic meet and saw the attendance of 15 people, 4 of whom were fursuiters. Due to the success of the first meet, it was decided to continue holding regular meets in the region.
In Late 2020\Early 2021 Foxiekins stood down as group lead, due to health and personal reasons. As a result of the large change of ownership and admin staff it was decided to change the name of the group to Cornwall Furs. As of March 2022 Cornwall Furs has over 220 members in the Facebook group, 80 members on the group Telegram and an average meet attendance between 5 and 30. The meets are not exclusively for locals and can be attended by anyone, regardless of location. Cornwall is a well known tourist destination, so the group is welcoming of Furs who travel to the area. The meets are family friendly and can be attended by anyone over the age of 16, and younger Furs if accompanied by an adult.

Activities[edit]
Because of the open format and irregularity of the Cornwall Furs meets, the group does not have an official venue like many nearby meets. Cornwall Furs meets are often based around events or activities such as Bowling, Laser Tag, Picnic/Potlucks or visiting local attractions.
Some examples of previous meets have been; a visit to the theme park Flambards, Bowling in Truro and Tri-yearly Free Laser Tag meets at Raze the Roof, Penryn. Cornwall Furs also organise a meet up twice a year at Devcon Plymouth, a local sci-fi and comic convention.
Currently Cornwall Furs are meeting at Victoria Gardens in Truro - but are also exploring other venues, due to the wide geographical area of Cornwall.
