Companion

- Companions here refer to the fantasy characters. Companion is also a term used to describe a level of mateship amongst chakats.
Companions are horse-like beings which feature in a number of Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar fantasy novels. They are reborn souls in the form of blue-eyed white horses with silver (matte, not chrome) hooves. Companions have extended endurance, speed, and mental magic including Mindspeech. A Companion, at some point in his or her life, Chooses a human, bonding them (usually for life) and setting the human on the path to becoming a fully-trained Herald.
Companion characters can be played on the Herald Visions MOO.
