The Cobb are an alien race of giant spider-like beings including the eight eyes and venomous fangs like their Terran counterparts. Their merchant and worker castes are present in the many worlds of Tales of the Tai-Pan Universe trading and bartering various goods and services. Cobb culture is very eusocial, almost like hive-insects. Cobb technology is on par with that of the Beta Starans if not better.
