CrssaFox, also known as Carissa St. Clair (nee Haan) has been a part of the furry fandom since 1996. What started off as text-based roleplaying with friends on Redwall MUCK led to drawing her characters and uploading artwork. In 2003, she began making her characters into fursuits.

Real life[edit]

CrssaFox currently lives in New England with her husband and two children, and their dog. She moved from Florida in 2017, where she was occasionally active in the Florida Furs community.

In 2017 and 2018, she operated a retail storefront for her bath & body business. As of April 2018, the retail shop is closed, while the business remains open as an online storefront.

Conventions[edit]

CrssaFox normally attended Furry Weekend Atlanta and Megaplex while living in Florida. She attended Mephit Fur Meet in 2006 and 2007, and has attended Anthrocon, Rocket City Furmeet and Midwest Furfest in the past.

At Mephit Furmeet 11, her design was chosen as the winner for the front of the annual convention t-shirt.

CrssaFox has taught panels at FWA, Megaplex, and EXP Con on drawing, character creation, badge-making, and costume construction.

Costumes and fursuits[edit]

CrssaFox is a fursuit maker, having created many costumes. She started making them for herself, and eventually started taking commissions on a full-time basis.

She also makes ears and tails and sells them at various events, including anime, furry, and sci-fi conventions.

As of July 2009, CrssaFox began her professional costuming business, AdorableFoxie. She makes custom costuming pieces.

Her child-sized wolf tail was featured in the October issue of "Cookie" Magazine as part of an easy DIY "Max" costume from "Where the Wild Things Are.""[1]

After the birth of her daughter in 2012, CrssaFox stopped taking fursuit commissions so she would be able to focus on her family. She maintains her Etsy store for individual pre-made costume pieces.

Other Businesses[edit]

CrssaFox and her husband, Silverdark, operated a jewelry business called Frozen Forge. Frozen Forge made an appearance at various conventions across the southeastern United States, including anime and gaming cons as well as furry cons. Frozen Forge spent some time with reenacting and LARP events as well, having attended the St. Augustine Pirate Gathering and the Amtgard Golden Leaves Hafla in 2009.

Frozen Forge specialized in chain maille jewelry and was known for making custom pieces during conventions. It was put on indefinite hiatus in 2012.

In 2014, CrssaFox began a new endeavor in making soap. It began as a means to use some creativity to make useful household products, and eventually expanded into a full time business. After moving to New England in 2017, she opened a retail store called Scrub Oak Soaps from which to sell her products. In 2018, she began a secondary online soap store called Magical Girl Soap Company, with a focus on female empowerment and cute designs inspired by anime and manga.
