Chat on the Internet, also know as COTI, or Team COTI was an AOL chat room, and later also a PHPBB messageboard and LiveJournal community that were active between 2004 and 2006.
Its founding members were all friends from various small social MUCKS but decided to create an AOL chatroom in order to invite their friends who were not familiar with the MUCK interface or the client software necessary to use them. On the other hand; anybody with the AIM client could create and participate in COTI, and it enjoyed lively activity and a modest notoriety for the brief period of time that it was active.
COTI dissolved in the spring of 2006, as its membership splintered off into smaller groups, and all of its web presences were taken down after years of limping inactivity in 2008. Several ex-COTI participants remain active in the furry community.
