Bob Nelson, also known as Anthrocoon, was a furry writer and radio DJ.

Fandom involvement[edit]

Bob Nelson had created websites devoted to clean (SFW) macrophilia and microphilia media. He had been a disk jockey at WMWM in Salem, Massachusetts since 1981, and had done live call-in reports from conventions, including Anthrocon and Furpocalypse.

He had led panel on classic cartoons, Disney's Zootopia, and Greymuzzles at Furpocalypse, Anthrocon, Furrydelphia, Anthro New England, Furcationland, and [[[Saturday Morning Contoons]], and recorded convention panels on audio and video.

His handle Anthrocoon meant "man-raccoon", and is also a salute to the American furry convention, Anthrocon.

Fursona[edit]

Bob Nelson's fursona was a raccoon.

Characters[edit]

Nelson's characters were Anthrocoon and Mike Rowe Fox. In addition, he created stories about a world named Wodlen populated by 70-foot-tall raccoons, foxes, and so on; an Earth astronaut lands on the planet and is befriended by the likes of raccoon Arkody and fox Ungorp.

Death[edit]

Bob Nelson had been in the hospital since early December 2024 for liver and heart issues,[1] eventually ending on life support. By January 1, 2025, he suffered a kidney failure, passing on January 4, 2025.[2]
