"Animal Passions" is a lengthy article about Anthrocon 2006. It was written by Melissa Meinzer, and appeared in the Pittsburgh City Paper on June 29, 2006. Melissa Meinzer had previously written "Fur Ball In the Works", a news brief item which appeared in February.

"Animal Passions" presents many aspects of the furry fandom in what many furry fans consider to be a factual light, without sensationalizing or exaggerating aspects that some might consider "deviant". It makes reference to the infamous Vanity Fair article from 2001, and to the reputations of such people as FoxWolfie Galen and Stalking Cat.

The article also includes a reference to the WikiFur article What is Furry? and a quotation from it.
