Amanda Krut
Amanda Krut is a sociologist from Denver, Colorado and a graduate of the Metropolitan State College of Denver. Her research interests include online communities and internet law.
In May 2008, Amanda attended the Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2008 with a research partner and surveyed the convention participants. The results of the three day project can be found here. She also wrote two extensive research papers on the furry fandom. The first as a term paper arguing for continued sociological research of the community and a second as an undergraduate thesis incorporating the results of the 2008 survey.
In April 2009, Amanda took her paper arguing for continued research to the annual conference of the Pacific Sociological Association for an undergraduate session where many of her fellow researchers were thrilled to learn more about the furry fandom.
Amanda currently lives in Washington, D.C. and is working to continue her research.
