AllFurRadio

AllFurRadio was a furry internet radio station controlled and owned by members of the furry fandom.

Overview

Owned by Markus Damone, AllFurRadio's primary objective was to bring high-quality furry-oriented programming to a wider audience within the fandom. While the station mainly catered to adults, it did offer family-friendly content and programming also, working on the core beliefs of the station's founders, and continued management.

The station's slogans were "By Furries, For Furries" and "All Fur you!".

History

AllFurRadio was founded by Markus Damone on 23 September 2006 to provide an alternative to existing media within Second Life and the furry fandom at large.

The other co-founders were Arcturis McCloud (aka DJ Paladin), Lorelei Xiao (aka DJ Kinky), and Wren Mikita (aka DJ War). Two of these founders and co-owners have since left these roles at the network.

AFR made its first broadcasts on Second Life and received most of its initial support from the furry sim cluster known as FurNation. AFR then attempted to branch out over the next year into the game known as Furcadia and to the sim clusters of Ryder and Lost Furrest in Second Life.

AllFurRadio was known for its regular visits to conventions, starting with Anthrocon in 2007, and continuing in 2008 and 2009. AllFurRadio usually broadcasts from Fernando's cafe to the con-goers. AllFurRadio also made appearances at Further Confusion and Rocky Mountain Fur Con, the latter of which AFR states is its 'home' convention.

AllFurRadio's management announced that as of August 29, 2010, the station had stopped broadcasting for a short while. Furthermore, they added that the station was looking to resume the following year, working with new and former staff and their listener base to remodel its operations and program, pending a re-opening. Fans were encouraged to participate by contacting the CEO or joining the station's official Teamspeak Server.

August 2017: After five years of radio silence rumors began to spread that AllFurRadio was streaming again. Logos shortly began popping up around SecondLife and FurAffinity, then a Facebook page was created. A new AllFurRadio Listener channel was created in Discord, soon after other methods of contacting the furry community as a whole were established. Markus Damone, the founder, and CEO began establishing connections with former AFR staff and hiring brand-new talents.

2019: With two years of broadcasting, the re-invented AllFurRadio Continues to bring original content, Radio Plays, Talk Shows, and talent to the fandom. Not without struggles, the Station remains one of the most respected furry-oriented radio stations on the internet. They have been in talks with several cons to begin doing panels.

2021: without warning, AllFurRadio announced on their Twitter they were shutting down and going back into Second Life exclusively so they did not have to pay royalty fees, but after looking in that game they were nowhere to be found. It was later discovered they had shut down completely and were doing videos under their name AllFurMedia which also suddenly stopped. This was the last that anyone had heard of either name.
