To age-lock an exit, @lock it to $adultlock. So, if you wanted to lock an exit named 'XXX', you would type: @lock XXX=$adultlock
This will call Nightwind's agelock program (database reference #145543) whenever someone tries to use the exit. The program will check the user's registered birthdate and figure out whether or not the person is old enough to use the exit.
You can also age-lock objects in the same way, so that only people old enough will be able to pick up the object. An example might be @lock unmentionable=$adultlock
Alternatively, you can '@lock exit=!$adultlock' This will only allow people under the agelock to use the exit. This might be useful for setting a minors-only area, if such is needed.
Players whose ages are unset are considered to be 0 years old for the purposes of this program.
Please type '@list #145543=1-32' within FurryMUCK to see more information about agelocking.
- It is possible to lock objects or exits to an age higher than 18, by setting an _AgeLock property on the locked object.
Example: @set in;enter;bar;enter bar=_AgeLock:21
