The Advanced Genetic Research Institute (usually just AGRI) is a fictional network of university-based genetic engineering facilities created by Mark Merlino as backstory for his recom characters. In the story universe, AGRI is located near the the University of California at Santa Barbara. AGRI not only created human/animal genetic constructs but also placed them in human foster homes and helped to supervise their raising to adulthood. Two well-known characters which emerged from AGRI included Sylys Sable and Vinson Mink.
