Zaseishin (Zah-say-shin, born July 20, 1982) is an otaku, gamer, and furry who lives in the Bay Area of California. On March 15, 2010 he married his long time mate and fiancé Velute.
History
Zaseishin has been a fan of anime all his life. He volunteered at FanimeCon and Anime Expo from 1997 to 1998, and he worked for The Anime Pavilion at the same conventions--once at Yaoi Con--from 1998 to 2001. He continues to attend FanimeCon regularly, and appears at the comic book convention Wondercon from time to time.

He entered the Furry fandom through anime and gaming. Browsing anime art made him aware of the fandom, and he encountered it in the game Counter-Strike with the Yiffy Foxies server. He discovering friendly people he liked, and regularly played on the server. Soon he was accepted into their CS administration team and moderated from 1999 till the server shut down in 2001. Thanks to rat, Zas learned to edit map entities and the code used to run server mods. These skills would be applied in his later admin services as the Yiffy Foxies community moved to Furry East (2001-2003), Kivuli's Tree (2003-2004), and Counter-Addiction (2004-2008).

Zas joined other furry communities such as Tapestries MUCK and Fur Affinity. Though is Taps account is generally abandoned, his art and various commissions can be found at his FA account. Now-a-days, Zas can mostly be found on Steam. He is friendly, approachable, and enjoys adding friends. He considers himself "barely in the fandom" for not going to conventions or gatherings. While not adverse, he does not feel compelled to attend.
Character
Zaseishin's character was created in July of 1998. He considers the character both his online avatar and his role-playing character. Zaseishin generally chooses not to reveal his real name for privacy reasons, but does not mind when friends or acquaintances ask.

The name "Zaseishin" is a portmanteau of "Za," a Japanese phonetic of the word "the" in English, and "Seishin," a Japanese word meaning "the soul." The character has gone through various surnames including his real-life surname, Ijoufuno (of the hero), Kakushano (of the enlightened one), and Seidouno (of the righteous path). Zas finally settled on Tsukino ("moon field" or "of the moon") as the character's cannon surname.

The appearance of Zaseishin is a feline with a lean but athletic build. His coat consists of short, brown fur with a sleek texture that is lighter on the ventral side of his body than the rest. The fur hugs closely to him, accentuating each curve and plain to his form. A pattern of black stripes mark the expanse of his back, upper arms and thighs. Trailing from the bottom of his back is a long and thick tail with black stripes, which tapers off into a black tip. A pair of strong, hazel eyes sit above his muzzle, and shift from brownish-yellow to green with the dilation of his pupils. His muzzle is narrow like that of a hunting breed with near invisible whiskers extending from his snout. The hair atop his head is longer than his fur and darker brown. He wears it short and spiked in a reckless mess of angles that sit between two feline ears tipped in black.
