Fion started out in the Furry Fandom in oct 2005 when he began using Furcadia, where he made and ran a place named Apex Tavern & Inn which he ran up until December.

in late December 2005 he began using Secondlife and within a few weeks Started making Furry avatars for Secondlife.

in july 2008 Fion become the owner of C0nnerc00n's Team fortress 2 Private server which lasted up until January 2009 when he was forced to shut it down due to financial issues.

Fion is seen with many different [[avatar]]s, most of which he has made himself. He spends his days on Second Life making [[chibi]]-ish style avatars and [[plushies]] at DB Studios, a shop he owns which is located in a few places throughout SL. He also does a set amount of Second Life Avatar commissions per month on a first come first serve basis.

Fion is an actor and contributor for [[Peach fuzz]] in Second Life, and is famous for his SL character Null.

'''Hammerfall''' is a short novel written by amateur [[author]] and [[artist]] [[Tomas Seglins]] in 2006 and is the first part of a three-book story planned to be completed by late 2007.
The story is set in the futuristic outer regions planets, a massively-detailed universe created solely by the author and set roughly in the year 3300 (thirty-fourth century). The region was settled by colonial [[human]] explorers and later populated by three [[anthropomorphic]] [[species]], collectively called Humans. These races are the Eserian ([[Foxes]]), the Iyolish ([[Husky]]/[[German Shepherd]]) and the Anglish ([[Great Dane]]s). The story of Hammerfall is based around the first book's primary character Vanessa Deoritcht, a low-class Navy pilot/commander.

After nearly 90 years after what was known as the first ''Trade War'' against an unforeseen alien alliance known as the ''Coalition'' due to forced taxation and trade filtering, now humanity lives in fear of the commissioned Privateer fleets that stalk the territory between the two primary Human colonies, Hammerfall and Eveshire.

Tomas chose to give the reader a view from both sides as the story progresses towards the inevitable second ''Trade War'', the other character being the Coalition's primary militant commander, a [[female]] of the ''Jyyk'Tiir'' race known as T'Lorrk. Whilst the primary ruling body of the Coalition struggles to keep the peace between humanity and their Alliance of five races, T'lorrk vies to erupt a war between the two, further defining her distaste for the human Settlers.

Formed at the end of nearly two thousand years of conflict, after two entire worlds were destroyed during the Iyolish war against the Anglish Humanity finally found peace upon realizing the devastation and nearly a trillion lives lost. The Anglish, Iyolish and the Eserians settled Eveshire, the third homeworld after the loss of both Earth and Nighthaven, the second Human world.
The culture was formed as a part of the Socialist order created by the gigantic corporations combined and ruled by a Democratic leadership, combining the two into a state of Social Democracy.

Each industry, the military and all other services and organizations are coordinated into a single state by representatives of each division as part of the Democratic leadership, also known as ''The Council'' and whose actions can be attributed to that of a Republic where the people vote and are a part of decisions made.

Although the name ''Empire'' was adopted, there is no single ruling entity, the name was originally a nickname as the council acted as one mind and one voice though eventually it was voted in unanimously and officially.
As the TCE is largely based off of the operations of the Corporate entities, their economy is reinforced and extremely stable, whereas their currency is measured by the worth of gold by weight and traded as the Terran Credit (one Terran Credit is worth 0.026 grams of gold as the TCE uses a Metric measurement system.

=== United Planets Coalition ===

Much like the TCE, the UPC was formed at the end of a long struggle between the Jyyk'Tiir and the Makaaik alongside their allies, the Talankas. Their nation was formed with the concept of a perfect society where the attributes of all the aligned people were as one, forming a strong bond between the five races.

As a whole the UPC acts directly as a Republic, each race is represented by elected ''Diplomats'' which can be closely attributed to Senators of modern-day and led by one governing body titled the ''Grand Councilor'', best attributed to a national President. The population of the UPC is formed by the five races, The Makaaik, the Talankas, The Jyyk'Tiir, the Dakhari and the Veslaii. Each of the five have unique customs, technology and methods and have been combined to form the idea of a perfect society. The people of the Coalition are adaptable and thrive well alongside nature with a decent yet sturdy economy traded in the form of services rather than currency.

-Cruel and unforgiving, the Jyyl'Tiir honor those more than willing to give their lives in battle. They are an insectoid-like race with hardened carapace and six limbs (Four legs, two arms). Combined with the ability of flight and razor-sharp claws the Jyyk'Tiir are natural hunters and soldiers, reflecting well their warrior-like natures. They hail from the tropical planets just on the boundary of chartered Coalition space.

-Coming from the desert plains of their ocean-less planet Aska, the Dakhari are the most benevolent race in the universe, not one would lift a weapon to save their own life as they believe all wars are an unnecessary evil that plagues every nation known. Despite this they are natural builders and designers, having built all of the Coalition's many cities as well as the ships and weapons used by their comrades. Most of the other races find it strange that they would gladly build weaponry for their allies yet never use one for themselves no matter the situation.

-Similar to the Dakhari, the Veslaii are peaceful and artistic, bringing art and culture to the Coalition. it is said by all the other races that they are the favored allies as they represent a life without concern as they are strong believers of a fate that cannot be altered as well as the basic action/reaction philosophy.
They are the newest members of the Coalition and their homeworld is uncharted and unknown, seemingly to have appeared shortly after the alliance was organized.

== Technology ==

As designing and concept-work is one of Tomas' strongest passions, the technology of the Hammerfall universe was a fun chore as he still is designing much of the aspects to appear in the later novels.

=== Plasma or Fusion? ===

Long before any of the Alien races were created, there was a personal debate whether or not to use Plasma-based Technology/energy or Fusion. After a lot of wasted paper going through all of his designs and ideas he suddenly discovered that it was a more exciting idea to have both, only the two warring factions to have only one or the other.

The Terran Corporate Empire, or known as the United Terran Federation in earlier concepts was given Fusion technology and all gun-powder was abolished to follow through with his altered history idea that formed the unique time line starting from 1700 AD. Upon further study of Gaussian and Railgun technology the two were combined to form the standard design principle of the Terran offensive capability.

The United Planets Coalition was granted Plasma technology, making them a little more stereo-typical aliens though not superior to the Human's capabilities. In the Hammerfall universe, there is no existence of energy shielding of any kind nor teleportation and hyperspace which so frequently are thrown into Science Fiction stories.

To replace the stereotypical ''Hyperdrives'' influenced by the Star Wars Universe & Motion Pictures, the Jump Drive was conceived to be a rapid form of transport used by ships of both Coalition and Terran fleets as well as various transportation vessels.
The concept was to create a form of instantaneous propulsion combined with an inertial dampener that can physically propel a ship to near light-speed using thrusters as there are no forms of internal propulsion nor any recorded vessel, Coalition nor Terran has ever broken the ''Light barrier''.

==== Fusion Energy ====

The Terrans, having consumed Fossil Fuels rampantly upon two worlds finally moved to a form of Sub-Molecular Fusion. Also called Molecular stripping, the process involves taking radioactive particles from a substance, mainly a Uranium equivalent by use of starting a Fusion reaction that actively turns the molecules into near-pure energy at an efficiency of 27%. The resulting power generation exceeds anything modern equivalents are capable of in both Voltage and Amperage. A small Fusion reactor generates a dangerous amount of Radioactive energy though can power even the largest ships with a gram of the substance for nearly three whole days.

==== Railguns & Gaussian Weaponry ====

The primary armaments of the Terran Corporate Empire are some of the most deadliest weapons in the known galaxy. By using incredible bursts of magnetic energy, railguns and Gauss-weapons are able to propel solid rounds of varying sizes at speeds well over 3500 Meters per second, creating an impact equivalent of a ballistic missile with only one-three kilogram round, overall cutting the offensive budget by 85% compared to using former technology.

==== Plasma Weaponry and Energy ====

The pride and joy of the UPC, Plasma-based energy production and weaponry are cheap and easy to manufacture. Using impressive amounts of heat-energy, Plasma is a form of Thermal power and weaponry, able to melt through even the toughest of physical armor.
The weaponry fires by first charging a cell of liquid plasma then discharging using magnetic propulsion, emphasizing one of the many similarities between the Humans and their Alien opponents.

==== Polarized Armor ====

After extensive research and many Navy vessels lost, the Terran Corporate Empire discovered methods of reinforcing the armored hull of their Navy Ships by using a certain frequency of harmonics and energy which assists in either deflecting or partly absorbing the damage caused by UPC plasma weaponry. In most cases the armor is able to defend against glancing shots though direct impacts still inflict considerable damage as there is no physical way to stop a perpendicular shot against the hull.

==== Thermal-Optics ====

Originally stolen technology fitted to light-weight transport vessels, Thermal Optics were invented by the UPC though later abandoned as Human scanning technology developed rapidly to counter such measures. Most notable uses of the Technology were on ships such as the ''Harlequin'', used during the first trade war to smuggle supplies directly through enemy lines.
The technology was not largely implemented as it is not a cost-effective countermeasure and is easily detected if you are directly searching for the vessel as there are tell-tale signatures that are emitted whilst it is in use.

Tomas plans to have the three-part series finished late 2007, the other two books aside from Hammerfall are;

As the first book followed the character Vanessa, the second and third books follow other characters in a similar pattern to the first completed book.
The series outlines the various instabilities in both seemingly-stable cultures, emphasizing the political struggles in the third book whereas the primary character is a part of the Coalition leadership council.

As well as Tomas' developing ability as an author, he also practices numerous forms of art, ranging from digital to traditional works. Hammerfall was intended to both polish and practice his story writing and artwork by creating the extensive range of characters throughout the story. The comic is loosely based upon a series of sketches created in Griffin's childhood about a dog named Bino, who also appears as a supporting character in the comic as it exists today. Griffin came up with the idea of expanding his sketches into a full webcomic in 2006, drew up a few rough strips in 2007, and unveiled the comic itself on June 2, 2008. The primary setting is Babylon Gardens, a suburban neighborhood somewhere within the United States. Most animals are sentient; most mammals are fully anthropomorphized, able to walk and talk, and live double their normal lifespan. Animals also enjoy certain rights (for example, a police dog can arrest humans), but wild animals not kept as pets have no legal status. Pets are regarded much like surrogate children, referring to their owners as "Mom" and "Dad" as well as adopting their surnames, and may be kept by humans who opt not to have children of their own.

The plot centers around Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly, pets of the Sandwich family, and their various misadventures. Most strips depict Peanut and Grape dealing with common problems, such as coping with boredom, visiting the vet, and interacting with other pets. A run away, she attempted to pursue an acting career. She worked hard but her lack of credentials, experience and her own 'exotic' looks meant her career was poor and encumbered. It even reached a point where returning home was a thought Zig Zag considered.

The '''House of Were''' was a household of [[therianthropes]] and [[furries]] that formed, initially, in [[Wikipedia:Lenexa, Kansas|Lenexa, Kansas]] when [[Goldenwolf]] moved in with [[Gre7g]] to begin working on various web projects, including [[Wolfhome]]. Soon after Wolfhome.com got started, Gre7g met [[Kyoht]], who was living in [[Wikipedia:New York City|New York City]] at the time, and brought her home. Soon they were an inseperable couple, and the house then truly became a Werehouse, with two therianthropes (weres) and one furry.

After a while, Goldenwolf coaxed her then boyfriend, [[Mitternacht]], to move in, and then there were four (three therianthropes and a fur). It was during this time that Kyoht and Goldenwolf started drawing the "House of Were" cartoons, parodies of daily life around the house, featuring Kyoht, Gre7g, Goldenwolf, and Mitternacht, as well as Coyote, Kyoht's actual and at once fictional mischievous spirit guide. The comic also included the pets Loki, Brandon, and Skwerl, and other assorted cameo characters.

In 2003, it was decided that the house would move to [[wikipedia:Cedar City, Utah|Cedar City]], [[wikipedia:Utah|Utah]], where the house was joined by the residents' friend, [[WolfmageX]]. She’s had a strong love of nature (particularly trees and flowers) ever since she was a pup, and happily describes herself as a “tree-hugger”. And, while she spends much of her time alone, she also enjoys social activities with her closest friends.

Her build is best described as average, but short. She’s roughly 5’4”, but this can vary due to her digitgrade legs (her family’s canine roots are unusually strong). Her headfur is dark brown, more than halfway down her back in length, and she typically lets it flow loosely, having never been a fan of the constricting sensation of hair elastics. But, she does loosely tie it back for swimming or hiking (if it’s a hot day). She seldom wears skirts or dresses, preferring short denim shorts and T-shirts (or tank-tops) instead. She doesn’t like wearing dresses, nor does she like wearing just a diaper, though she does like jumpers and shortalls. Her favourite colours are lavender and blue, and she hates yellow, with her wardrobe reflecting this. And, she loves bringing flowers back inside after a long day of playing, as well as tucking them in her hair (she thinks they look pretty, and they smell nice).

Each tail a kitsune possesses grants them a different magical power/ability, but once the energy of that power is used up, the tail disappears. To acquire a tail life energy must be obtained. Normally, through natural life experience and aging, a kitsune will acquire a tail on its own, but to accelerate the process, a kitsune may steal the life energy of a member of the opposite sex to acquire a new tail. Of course, doing so will either shorten the life of the other or kill them all together.

Kitsune may acquire a maximum of 9 tails but as their tail number increases, so does the amount of life energy they must either naturally obtain or steal and again, if the energy of that tails magic is used up, it disappears and they must start over again to regain it (one tail is always naturally there).

SliderCon is not exclusive to the LAFF group. There is always one held during [[Midwest Furfest]] and everyone, even non-LAFFurs, is welcome to attend.

== History ==
SliderCon started in March of 2005 when the [[Wikipedia:Denny's|Denny's]] that the LAFF Group would usually go to after bowling told them they would have to wait two hours just to get a table. Sema decided that she didn't want to wait and went to White Castle instead.

In the following months, SliderCon gained popularity as the "After Bowling Event" and on average has 15-35 attendees. In April 2007, SliderCon celebrated its two year anniversary, making it the longest running after-bowling event. The anniversary is celebrated in April and not March because no SliderCon took place in September 2005.

In May of 2007, Sema made the announcement that she would be moving to Arizona and would no longer be running the after bowling event. She then announced that she would be handing over the event to her good friend, Blazger, because she knew he could "keep the event going".

In late December of 2006, Sema decided to recreate SliderCon on [[Second Life]]. Being the founder of both SliderCon and the Second Life LAFF group, she decided that this place would be LAFF's official Second Life headquarters.

The Second Life's SliderCon currently sits on a 1024sm plot of land in the [[island (Second Life)|sim]] of Osondoson and doubles as Sema's Second Life home. In July 2010 it was revealed that Jessica Elwood had been posting pictures of herself online that appear to have been commissioned from a professional modeling studio. After the similarities between the pictures posted and pictures of another woman, known as "Camerella", were discovered, Jessica then admitted on her [[deviantART]] account that the images were in fact fake (as shown in the top screenshot). The journal in question, however, was deleted by either Jessica or the hacker sometime before or during the alleged hacking.

Later, Camerella was notified on Twitter of what had happened, and posted on Facebook (shown in the middle screenshot) that they did not in fact know Jessica Elwood. Camerella mentioned that her studio was commissioned by an individual to take the photos with the sketchbooks, and that she saw a "JE" on some of the documentation involved in the comissions.

Later, Camerella created a "thank you" video for /b/, the notorious forum on 4chan, and the suspect group of the alleged hacking.

===July 2010 hacking===

On July 9th, at or around 3 PM EST, Jessica's DA account was apparently hacked. The alleged hackers proceeded to post [[Wikipedia:Ero guro|guro]] images of self mutilation, several references to suicide, and mock motivational posters. All of these (guro images, references to suicide, and "demotivators") are popular memes on the /b/ 4chan forum. The alleged user then mass-stored her artwork, changed her DA status to "Dirty Beaner", and the account was later banned for the content.

The suspect motive for the hacking appears to be in response to the journal (see attached photo) in which Jessica admits to passing pictures of Camerella off as those of her own (see "Fake real-life photos," above). In the journal, the alleged hacker recites the motto for [[Wikipedia:Anonymous_(group)|Anonymous]] and states a variant of the "Yiff in hell, [[Furfags]]" meme, leading many to believe that 4chan's /b/ is the origin of the culprit.

However, in the Jessica Elwood article on the troll/parody wiki, [[Encyclopedia Dramatica]], it is pointed out that the "Never forgive, never forget" part of the meme was inverted. This is cited as proof that it could not be a true 4chan user, as it would be improbable for anyone from 4chan to make a mistake in its recital. It is also pointed out that the shock imagery used was found by using the first few pictures found while searching on Google.

4chan has denied responsibility for the attack, though the possibility of a rogue attack from a 4chan user remains. In addition, A post 2 weeks before on 4chan's /tg/ gaming board claims that Jessica Elwood was hosting a "raid" of /tg/, apparently in order to increase the furry presence on the forum. <ref>[http://archive.easymodo.net/cgi-board.pl/tg/thread/10665193#p10665260 Traditional Games 4chan Archive. Retrieved July 14, 2010]</ref> This, however, comes with no evidence to support the claim. It is unknown if this was a coincidence or if this had something to do with the events of July 9th. On July 14th, Jessica's DA account was unbanned. A quick look in her galleries showed that the deviations were actually put into storage instead of deleted. This led to several users suggesting that Jessica may have vandalized her own account to escape DeviantArt.

DeviantArt does not allow mass-deletion of content on DeviantArt, while mass-storing an entire gallery is possible. It is possible, however to delete the entire gallery when deactivating an account. <ref>[http://help.deviantart.com/113/ DeviantArt FAQ. Retrieved July 14 2010]</ref>

Jessica's [[Fur Affinity]] page is still online and untouched, although many otherwise empty accounts were posting shouts on it's open chat board and replying to Jessica's journals. One theory is that her FA account has a different password and the hackers were not able to break into it. Another theory is that there was no "apology" needed, as the fake photos were posted to DA, not FA, and thus there was no need to "cover up" anything. The fact that most users would know her from both sites damages this theory somewhat, however.

As of early morning, July 14th, 2010, the FA administration has posted a notice on her FurAffinity account that further comments and shouts will result in a ban.

===Arden the Black===
Approximately around the time of the hacking incident, several DA users simultaneously began posting accusations that Jessica Elwood is really "Arden the Black" on every deviation and post they could find in relation to her. This information is heavily featured in the article on Ms. Elwood on [[Encyclopedia Dramatica]]. ([[Arden the Black]] was an artist who used to post images to the former Playmouse Yahoo group. His artwork can still be found on the [[Playmouse]] web site via the search feature. He also used to post on the [[VCL]] with the name Arturo Juarez, but has deleted his directory long ago.)

Some early posts from Jessica Elwood do cite Arden the Black as a reference, and mention asking for his input on artistic matters. In addition to Stories, Artwork, Music and Journals, Sofaggy has a number of distinct additional features.

The site features a complete user community system which is used as a kind of collaborative filter. Users are encouraged to found or join "groups" that cover particular subject matters. These groups can have fully integrated forums and even web chatrooms. Users can still use established features like personal watchlists to find new content, but they can also build a collaborative set of favorites within groups, thus allowing people who join groups to instantly be able to browse a human-maintained gallery of content specifically matching the group's topic. Groups are user-created and user-moderated.

In addition to the forums and chats within groups, the site also features global forums and chatrooms that are maintained by the site moderators. Site functions like the web-chat are also available via third-party applications, and several chat applications (written in Java for the desktop, one android app, and a chat client written in python) have been developed already. The site offers a one-time-pad authentication system for secure authentication over insecure networks as well as an API for application developers.

Another major feature is a complete commission management and purchase system, in which users and artists can manage their list of in-progress commissions, and also sell and buy commission services. Sofaggy does not handle payments or retain any percentages from commissions, the system is free to use for anyone.

Users can personalize their galleries with their own site banners, which are shown whenever someone views or browses their submissions.

==Differences to Yiffstar==

Sofaggy uses a "post-submission review" process, like most other faggy art sites. This is in contrast to the "pre-approval" process used in Yiffstar, which resulted in wait times of up to a day before submissions were approved for online viewing. Several functions like the search have been expanded to not only cover titles and authors in addition to tags, but also to honor tag hierarches (so searches for "Canine" will find all canine-tags like "Dog", "Wolf", etc.)

The site is hosted on a cluster of servers, running database replication and DNS loadbalancing. The servers are located in the US and the EU. In addition, actual file content is cross-hosted on a number of FTP mirrors.

[[Fender]] is the fag Affinity [[mascot]]. He was primarily created by artist [[K-9]], based upon a character concept by [[Preyfar]]. He is half [[fox]] and half [[ferret]], commonly referring to himself as a 'ferrox'.

On April Fool's Day 2007, Fender was depicted in the site's banner as a busty female dragon, still wearing the trademark blue tie. This dragon was made a separate character from Fender and an official mascot of the site in May 2007, and named [[Rednef]], or "Fender" spelled backwards.

Fender was displayed as a three-toed [[sloth]] for April Fools' Day 2008. So far this sloth form has yet to become an official character.
