first off I like the idea of what the furry fandom but there is a certain question I want to ask.

do anyone especially the newer users here have their furry character as a non-humanoid anthromorphic type(see preston blair's creation for an example)? I would recommend it for those who want to join this community or fandom. Especially if they want to get away from all the mainstream part of the fandom like yiffing for an example.

I have a hard time looking for those type of users out of sheer curiosity. I checked out Luskwood on SecondLife and I can only find one and the rest of them are just humanoid(with the head, hands, feet, and addition of the tail for being the difference).

There are some who have characters that are physically non-human in most or all respects, yet retain some form of elevated mental capacity normally associated with humans. You see them a lot on [[MUCK]]s and the like. Okay, as I said in my last post I'm very new to this and figuring it all out right now. But I have a major issue.
I've agreed to work at a summer camp that is cristian, the paper work is signed and sent in. On it it said i had to 'role model christian ideals' well, I personally think I do but I think each of us has had some sort of run-in with the church in one form or another. I'm quite sure they won't agree with me, label me a 'deviant' and either try to brainwash me out of furrydom or just boot me from the job. Mind you, these are not very tolerant people. They basicly follow the 'gays burn for eturnity' ideas so I have no idea what they'll say to me.
Note: This was just a job to me, I tryed to get some tolerance into them but It was impossible. Now I'm furry and it kind of changes things.
I really feel not telling them this really is lying.
But I sort of need the money since I can scedual a job during the school year.
Well, I'm quite befuddled, really what dose everyone think I should do.

:Well, I think the big question here is why you need to mention it to them at all, and if so, how to go about it. If you know they wouldn't approve, bringing it up in a negative or defensive manner is not likely to be good. I mean, would you make a big thing about being a stamp collector, or a snorkeler? If asked, tell the truth - you happen to be part of a group which enjoys drawings and stories of anthropomorphic animals. ''If'' they start poking about sexuality, you can mention [[News:UC Davis posts furry survey results|this UC Davis survey]], which suggest that there are both more straight and more bisexual people in the fandom than there are homosexuals.
:There are plenty of [[Christian fur]]s out there, and in fact furries do pretty well at the whole idea of brotherly love, playing the [[Wikipedia:Parable of the Good Samaritan|Good Samaritan]], not stealing from one another (when it does happen, there's [http://quentincoyote.livejournal.com/465543.html outrage]), being compassionate and forgiving those who have caused problems before, etc. I think if you display and encourage these qualities while working at the camp, you should be fine.

As the main organizer for both the 2007 and 2008 RBW conventions i would like to point out that we ARE a convention.

We have in fact a number of specific tracks for fursuiting, spiritual Furs, art, and general entertainment. We also are based at two location. The 'Party' aspect being held on the boat on the Saturday evening along with the more traditional programming being held at the main venue throughout Saturday and Sunday. 2007 and 2008 have specific affiliated hotels to the convention. RBW as of 1st July will be a registered UK charity and LLP As myself (Foxb) and Rapido as the chairmen.

Sine has gone and removed the italicization of the title from two entries I put in today: [[Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My‎]], [[March of the Furries]]. (I'd originally copied the format from an earlier article about a Denver Westword piece: [[Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits]].)

Is Sine's way correct? (It seems to be, I think Sine is using an accepted style, but I thought I'd double-check before spending time going through the list of Media Coverage articles and standardizing them all - there are few in there that italicize the title).

Also, some articles on newspaper/magazine columns have the "(year) events" category whilst others don't. What's the correct thing here?

:I would generally agree with this. The titles of newspaper articles are typically encased in quotes if there is a need to offset them from the text. Given that they are already bolded (being the title of the page) this is probably not necessary. We would italicize the name of the publication.

:It's tempting to suggest that we should use [[:Category:News by date]] for this, but it's probably a good idea to keep the two concepts separate. We do have the [[Timeline of media coverage]] for non-furry media. == Strange layout issue ==

Hi GreenReaper,
I've just been tinkering with the [[Furfire]] article which for some very odd and unusual reason was causing the entire Wiki CSS layout to collapse in a rather horrible way (See [http://users.bigpond.net.au/coles/Data/strangelayout.png image]). The strange thing is that it only seems that it only affected the most recent revision of the article despite there being the same markup in the article. (I originally noticed something wrong with [http://furry.wikia.com/index.php?title=Furfire&oldid=167083 rev. 167083] but when I look at it in the history the layout appears to be just fine.

The bit of markup that I believe to be possibly suspect is:

Once I removed this it appeared to come good. Does this make any sense to you why this would happen? I even dropped over to IE7 just in case my version of Firefox was on the fritz, but it persisted there too.

The story in question is that I have organised a survey to look into furry sexuality - the first survey to look pacificly into this topic. :Same as on a normal HTML table, except that there are certain limitations to prevent problems (most notably, you can't set an image as a background unless you do so via sitewide CSS). :All content decisions are made on a case by case basis. However, ED rarely makes a good link, due to its habit of putting a highly negative spin on any subject that it covers (except for those which result in the glorification of drama). Its editors are also quite willing to make things up if doing so results in "lulz". For these reasons and others, linking to ED is strongly discouraged, and I would advise you to treat anything you find there with caution. For the specific example you give, there seems no reason not to just use an interwiki link to Wikipedia, which has a perfectly good article on the topic. We would not need to have a separate article as it is not a furry topic.
:Our policy with birth names is to look at whether or not that name is being concealed in any way. For example, many artists actually go by their real names. Others use fan names alongside their real names. Still others make no mention of their real names, even on the websites containing their work. In the latter case, the use of the real name (if you know it) is probably not appropriate. Real names will usually be removed on request from the subject.

1. There are specific rules for publish information for a webcomic?
2. What it needs a webcomic for being considered "furry"? I ask this because in [[VG Cats]], even if the main characters are 2 furry cats, the comic isn't furry.

Why I ask this? Because I have a webcomic. The main character is a fuzzy furry creature, but even if she uses its furry enchant for charming everyone this webcomic is ambiented in the "real world".

And the other thing: A webcomic, must to be in english for being here? Because the comic is in spanish (my naive language).

:There is no requirement for comics to be in English - indeed, we are quite interested in hearing about such things in other languages. The language of the comic should be noted on the article. Similarly, it is not a requirement for events to take place in a completely furry world - a comic dealing with the actions of a single furry character or group of characters is fine.
:As for the information - ideally the things we write on WikiFur are facts that could be taken from the website about the comic, or from other sources. Okay, I always was a awkward and introverted person and I knew I had somethign different running, Now I find this website, mostly by mistake, and it all... clicks for me really. It just makes sense all of the sudden, I understood myself
so much better and I made sense to myself.
But of course I did the one thing that happens to all 17ish year olds when a paradigm shift like this happens, I melted down a little. Now I'm calm and I still have some questions.
I've always loved werewolves, even before I really knew what they are, and I almost exclusively play tauren (minotaurs) in World of Warcraft. You all seem very nice But I'm asking this : AmI or Am I not? It seems that I am but If i am this means quite a lot to me and I need to do some hard thinking befoe I telll anyone.

:Well, that's really for you to decide. But speaking from personal experience and what I've heard many others say, realizing that you're not the only one who associates with animals in such a manner is almost an overwhelming experience. I assume you've seen the primary articles [[Furry]] and [[Furry fandom]] -- if not, that's definitely something to read through. Once you've decided for yourself whether or not you're going to associate with the furry (or even [[therian]]) communities, then you can focus on whether or not you even want to go public with it - most do, but you don't have to unless you feel comfortable doing such. The beauty of being furry is that you can be anybody you want to be - any species, any color, any name - so if nothing else, designing a personal character for yourself might be a nice introspective process. Well, after much thought and quite some soul-searching I think that I am a furry. I still have a question though :

:The furry community isn't just for artists - yes, by far, it is supported by them being quite a vivid visual medium, but one need not be a good visual artist to be a furry.
