:I realize that it's collaboratively edited. However, considering that the page pertains particularly to me, I wouldn't expect others to edit direct information about me. However, if some lonesome soul wandered across the internet looking for me, all he'd see is the 3 sentences that my boyfriend put up three months ago there. He'd find no other information, and unless he was familiar with the interface of a wiki, he wouldn't know to look on the 'discussion' page. That is why the text that I entered on my own personal page was there in the first place. If it was me putting it any other place, I'd expect it to be taken down. ::Well . . . all I can say is that your expectations are incorrect, as we have many hundreds of articles about people who have never touched WikiFur. Probably half of them do not even know that there is an entry about them here. Some of them have been created by their friends, others simply by those who come across them. We find value in these articles, even if they are stubs, because sometimes that is sufficient to (say) contact an old friend. In general, we find it far better for lonesome souls to have three sentences than nothing at all. At least it lets them know where to look next. :-)

::We separate discussion from the article itself, because we don't really consider it to be encyclopedic to have personal notes from the editors in the middle of the articles. In this particular case, the message itself doesn't really make much sense, because it implies that the article ''has'' a single editor that would be responsible for returning and making changes at a later date - something that is contrary to the spirit of the site. We've [[:Category:Protected person articles|tried it out on occasion]], but it tends to end up badly. Most of the time, the people concerned just never come back, and then we are left with a stub that can never be changed.

::Put simply, the idea of ownership does not apply to the main namespace. Your "own personal page" is [[User:Xander Scaggs]], and you are welcome to do what you like with it - indeed, one of the things that people do is put notes saying that they will be away from editing for a while. :::Well, it's going to take me some time to be able to wrap my head around this. I guess the main thing that really hit me was that my article was edited without even so much as a notification. I'd appreciate a notification in the future, is that an option somewhere? I suppose I don't care if others edit my personal article...afterall it was my boyfriend who did it in the first place, and to be completely honest, I have no idea what I want to write there. I know that nobody else perhaps besides him WOULD write anything about me. I realize the point behind wikis, and I'd like to get involved with everything.
