Callico (Callie) Briggs is a character in SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. Callie is the Deputy Mayor of Megakat City, a highly technologically advanced society populated by anthropomorphic cats (Kats). Callie assists Mayor Manx with running the city, although she actually does most, if not all, of the paperwork involved in running the city. As she once told the Metallikats, "Mayor Manx hasn't done an ounce of paperwork here in years!" It was at that time that she admitted to having denied the Metallikats' paroles. That resulted in the Metallikats having a personal vendetta against Briggs, because her denying their paroles had ultimately led to their escape attempt from Alkatraz Island, being nearly killed, and becoming the Metallikats.

While Callie is normally seen in her business suit, she once appeared in a sweatsuit. There's also a medieval version of her -- Queen Callista of Megalith City. One episode even saw an evil version of her, where she was engaged in a plot with Dark Kat and the evil SWAT Kats to take over Megakat City.

Callie is sweet on both T-Bone and Razor, although it's hard to tell which of the two, if either, she favors. T-Bone tends to think Callie has the hots for him, but she has also shown her affection for Razor. Callie is also one of the SWAT Kats' biggest supporters; she even once gave them the benefit of a doubt when she told them to take her hostage to prevent Commander Feral from unmasking the pair.

In one episode, Callie even agreed to marry the Pastmaster to save the SWAT Kats. Fortunately, they were able to rescue her before that happened. When T-Bone asked her if she would have really gone through with the marriage just to save them, she responded, "Let's just say I'm glad I didn't have to make good on my offer."

Callie has a hotline to call the SWAT Kats if needed, in the form of a triangular-shaped device with a button in the center. It's unclear whether she really knows who the SWAT Kats really are, but she may know more than she lets on. For example, when T-Bone and Razor once take her hostage (at her urging), and escape in Callie's car, T-Bone says, "This baby's pretty darn fast for a street machine." Callie's response: "Yeah, I have a couple of mechanics who keep her tuned up."

Also known more commonly as SWAT Kats, SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron was an animated television show created by French-Canadians Christian and Yvon Tremblay and produced by Hanna-Barbera with a superhero/action theme buiding largely on the popularity of other previous series such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The show aired for two seasons, from September 11, 1993 to December 25, 1994. All the characters on the show are anthropomorphic cats, and some of its word-humor is derived from cat-related terms. Despite its unfortunately short lifespan, S.W.A.T. Kats: the Radical Squadron maintains a loyal fanbase to this day.

Though currently unfounded, there is a rumor going about claiming that Cartoon Network will release a new Swat Kats show - with a brand-new style, but with many of the old characters returning. If true, it is unknown if this series will be a brand new take on the show, or a sequel of sorts, as was the case with the new Biker Mice from Mars series.

Characters
T-Bone - ace pilot and the brawn of the S.W.A.T. Kats team, he is an unstoppable fighter in the air and hand-to-hand, though he does have to deal with the conflict of his ego with his heroic instincts to protect the innocent and defeat evildoers. In his secret identity as Chance Furlong, he is an automotive mechanic along with longtime friend and partner Jake Clawson.

Razor - Razor is the gunner and somewhat the smarter of the two. His battle tactic is more focused on strategy, reflected both in long-range and hand-to-hand fighting style, in which he employs great skill in martial arts techniques. As Jake Clawson, he holds together a struggling auto repair business with his friend and partner Chance Furlong, and could be considered somewhat shy and insecure. This might be owing partly to the incident which discharged him and Chance from the Enforcers.

Callie Briggs - The deputy mayor of Megakat City is the real power behind the bumbling figurehead Mayor Manx (who was in fact a parody of actor W. C. Fields). She is one of the SWAT Kats' biggest supporters.

Commander Ulysses Feral - XO of Megacat CIty's personal police force the Enforcers, and former boss of T-Bone and Razor. He fired them after they defied orders and went after Dark Kat, causing massive property damage as a result, though he has no idea the cadets he discharged from the force are the S.W.A.T Kats. As much as he disagrees with his former subordinates, he has much less tolerance for their alter-egos, considering them just as much a threat to the city as any of the supervillains, and makes it his business to try and capture and unmask them.

Lieutenant Felina Feral - Commander Feral's neice, Felina has more respect for the S.W.A.T Kats than her uncle does, and will often work with them and their supporters under Feral's nose, whenever necessary.

Lieutenant Commander Steele - An abrasive, arrogant, and cowardy opportunist, Steele is always seeking to usurp Feral's position as Enforcers commander, and will use anything at his disposal to do so.

Mayor Manx - A naive, portly man, more concerned about his image than anything, Mayor Manx is more or less a figurehead for Megakat City's political world to the more able-bodied Callie.

Dark Kat - the recurring supervillain is aptly named, for his true identity and the extent of his influence on crime at large are unknown. A brilliant strategist, he was likely modeled after Marvel Comics' Kingpin. He also has some skills in the arcane, or at least advanced technology, as he controls vast physical power and is always accompanied by a pair or more of tiny demon-like creatures who do his bidding without question.

Dr. Viper - the former Dr. Elrod Purvis turned into a half-snake as a result of an accident caused by his own greed. Like Dark Kat, he has his own plans to destroy Megakat City and remake it to his liking.

Mad Kat - The deranged spirit of a Medieval court jester fused with an equally down-and-out modern day comedian, Mad Kat acts much like DC Comics' Myxptlk, conjuring yellow and orange items of doom to take revenge on public figures whom he sees resemble the King, Queen, Knight, and Jester who ruined him.

Metallikats - A husband and wife criminal duo, Mac and Molly Mange were eventually captured, but drowned while attempting to escape the island prison they were sent to. A kindly scientist discovered their bodies and managed to download their memories and personality into robotic frames, which they now use to get revenge on those they feel are responsible for their bad luck.

Pastmaster - An undead, time-manipulating sorcerer from the Dark Ages, the Pastmaster was imprisoned centuries earlier before and remained so until his eventual release in the modern day. Having been out of the loop for so long, however, he does not particularly care for the new technology that has advanced during his absence, and strives to eradicate it all and return Megakat City back to the era he's most familiar with.

T-Bone is a character from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. T-Bone's real name is Chance Furlong, who with his buddy Razor (real name: Jake Clawson), is a garage mechanic. Chance's real occupation, however, is a pilot for the team consisting of himself and Razor, aka the SWAT Kats.

Far brawnier than his partner, T-Bone also fancies himself somewhat of a ladies' kat. However, he generally has more success in the skies with his expert piloting skills. T-Bone enjoys watching Scaredy Katt, much to Jake's dismay. His favorite pilot of all time is the Red Lynx. He couldn't swim until he was partly mutated into a frog.

T-Bone was once seduced by a female villain, Turmoil. The episode was originally written to have Turmoil seduce Commander Feral, but was later changed to focus on T-Bone.

T-Bone once implemented a maneuver which involved evading a heat-seeking missile by shutting down the Turbokat's engines completely and launching a decoy missile. Razor said he hated the plan, the reason being that T-Bone had a hard time restarting the engines.

While T-Bone and Razor have successfully managed to keep their real identities secret, they had two separate close calls where Commander Feral nearly learned who they really were. In one incident, Razor took Deputy Mayor Briggs hostage before Feral could unmask the pair. In the other, the Metallikats learned who the SWAT Kats were and offered the information to Feral in exchange for their freedom. Refusing to bargain, Feral instead used a neural neutralizer to deactivate the Metallikats.

Trivia
*Hanna-Barbera produced a total of 23 episodes for the series, 13 for the first season and 10 for the second. Only 10 episodes were produced for the second season because midway through the second-season, Turner Entertainment, Hanna-Barbera's parent company, abruptly cancelled the show. As a result, three first-season episodes were re-used for the second season, but with second-season opening credits and opening and closing theme music. Turner reportedly canned the show because it wasn't moving enough merchandise. However, at the time there was hardly any merchandise for the show, except for a handful of action figures, a video game and a bicycle tips safety mailer. It's been rumored that the show was cancelled because Ted Turner suddenly realized just how violent the series was.

Though currently unfounded, there is a rumor going about claiming that Cartoon Network will release a new Swat Kats show - with a brand-new style, but with many of the old characters returning. Razor is a character from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. Razor's real name is Jake Clawson, and, like his buddy T-Bone (real name Chance Furlong), he is a garage mechanic. However, Jake's other occupation is a pilot and weapons designer for the team consisting of himself and T-Bone, aka the SWAT Kats.

More comfortable around high-tech gadgetry than people, Jake gets nervous around the ladies, especially around Deputy Mayor Callie Briggs. His favorite TV show is David Litterbin, the feline equivalent of David Letterman. One of Jake's favorite movies is Hardshell, a movie about giant bugs terrorizing a city. Jake has also suffered from hairballs and, probably because of his lanky build, is frequently seen trying to prove himself as tough and macho as Chance. Jake also keeps potted plants around the garage ("good for the environment, good for the air" as he says).

Razor's favorite expression is "Bingo!", which he frequently utters when his weapons hit their mark. He's also more prone than T-Bone to blacking out under heavy G-forces. Razor has also been frustrated while fighting crime. For example, he once tried to disarm a bomb by cutting the red wire, only to find that all the wires were red .

While T-Bone normally flies the Turbokat, Razor once piloted it when T-Bone was unable to do so. Unfortunately, Razor was later forced to ditch the jet and eject to complete the mission.

Razor also once left the team, when an attempt to catch Dark Kat resulted in Razor launching a missile that destroyed a warehouse, injuring an elderly couple walking by. That incident was enough to rattle Razor's confidence that he hesitated to act upon encountering Dark Kat again, which nearly got the Turbokat destroyed. T-Bone criticized Razor for his hesitation, prompting Razor to leave the team. He later rejoined T-Bone upon learning more about the warehouse incident.

One of Razor's inventions, a dimensional radar, was struck by lightning during a flight when he and T-Bone were testing the radar. The lightning strike sent the pair into an alternate universe where Dark Kat, the SWAT Kats and Deputy Mayor Briggs were all engaged in a plan to take over Megakat City.

Trivia
*Midway through SWAT Kats second-season run, Turner Entertainment, Hanna-Barbera's parent company, cancelled the show. As a result, three first-season episodes were reused for the second season, but with second-season opening and closing credits and music. Turner reportedly canned the show because it wasn't moving enough merchandise. However, at the time there was hardly any merchandise for the show, except for a handful of action figures, a video game and a bicycle tips safety mailer.

*The voices of main characters T-Bone (Charlie Adler) and Razor (Barry Gordon) are perhaps better known for portraying rabbit characters such as Buster Bunny, Mr. Whiskers, and the Nesquik Bunny. Gordon, however, is also known as the voice of Donatello from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series.

*Other notable voices that can be heard on the show include:

:* Gary Owens (Commander Feral), the radio announcer from Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In and the original voice of Space Ghost and Blue Falcon

:* Ed Gilbert (Enforcer Sgt), also the voice of Baloo in the Disney TV animated series Tale Spin

:* Mark Hamill (Burke/Jonny), probably known best for his role of Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes 4-6)

:* Robert Ito (Mr. Young), best known for his 7-year stint as Sam Fujiyama in the 1970s series Quincy, M.E.

More comfortable around high-tech gadgetry than people, Jake gets nervous around the ladies, especially around Callie Briggs. His favorite TV show is David Litterbin, a feline equivalent of David Letterman. One of Jake's favorite movies is Hardshell, a movie about giant bugs terrorizing a city. Jake has also suffered from hairballs and, probably because of his lanky build, is frequently seen trying to prove himself as tough and macho as his buddy Chance Furlong. Jake also keeps potted plants around the garage ("good for the environment," as he puts it).

Razor's favorite expression is "Bingo!", which he frequently utters when his weapons hit their mark. He's also more prone than T-Bone to blacking out under heavy G-forces.

While T-Bone normally flies the Turbokat, Razor once piloted it briefly, when T-Bone was unable to do so. Unfortunately, Razor was forced to ditch the jet and eject to complete the mission.

Razor also briefly left the team in Razor's Edge (1994). In the episode, an attempt to catch Dark Kat results in Razor launching a missile that destroys a warehouse, injuring an elderly couple walking by. That incident is enough to rattle Razor's confidence that he hesitates to act upon encountering Dark Kat again, which nearly gets the Turbokat destroyed. After T-Bone criticizes Razor for his hesitation, Razor decides to leave for a bit. After the duo find out, separately, that the warehouse incident wasn't what it appeared to be, Razor rejoins his partner.

Interestingly enough, there's no mention of Mayor Manx in this universe, so he may have been offed prior to the good SWAT Kats' arrival.
However, Jake's other occupation is a pilot and weapons designer for the team consisting of himself and T-Bone, aka the SWAT Kats.

More comfortable around high-tech gadgetry than people, Jake gets nervous around the ladies.

While T-Bone normally flies the Turbokat, Razor piloted it briefly in one episode, when T-Bone was unable to pilot the jet. Unfortunately, the jet ran out of fuel and Razor was forced to eject to complete the mission.

Razor's favorite expression is "Bingo!", which he frequently utters when his weapons hit their mark. He's also more prone than T-Bone to blacking out under heavy G-forces.

Razor briefly left the team in the episode Razor's Edge (1994). In the episode, an attempt to catch Dark Kat results in Razor launching an Octopus Missile that destroys a warehouse, injuring an elderly couple walking by.
Wxkat//en.wikifur.com/wiki/Razor_(SWAT_Kats)Razor (SWAT Kats)2007-11-15T05:31:19Z
Wxkat:

Also known more commonly as SWAT Kats, SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron was an animated television show created by Christian and Yvon Tremblay and produced by Hanna-Barbera with a superhero/action theme buiding largely on the popularity of other previous series such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

*Other notable voices that can be heard on the show include:

:* Mark Hamill (Burke/Jonny), probably known best for his role of Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes 4-6)

:* Robert Ito (Mr. Young), best known for his 7-year stint as Sam Fujiyama in the 1970s series Quincy, M.E.

Also known more commonly as SWAT Kats, SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron was an animated television show produced by Hanna-Barbera with a superhero/action theme buiding largely on the popularity of other previous series such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

In his secret identity as Chance Furlong, he is an automotive mechanic along with longtime friend and partner Jake Clawson.
Razor - Razor is the gunner and somewhat the smarter of the two.

Trivia
The voices of main characters T-Bone (Charlie Adler) and Razor (Barry Gordon) are perhaps better known for portraying rabbit characters such as Buster Bunny, Mr. Whiskers, and the Nesquik Bunny. Gordon, however, is also known as the voice of Donatello from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series.

SWAT Kats was cancelled midway through its second-season run, which explains why three of the four shows during that season were first-season episodes but with second-season opening and closing credits and music. The reason reportedly given by Turner Entertainment for cancelling the show was that it wasn't moving enough merchandise. However, at the time there was hardly any merchandise for the show, except for a handful of action figures and a bicycle tips safety mailer.

In addition to Charlie Adler and Barry Gordon, some notable voices that can be heard on the show include:

* Gary Owens (Commander Feral), the radio announcer from "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" and the original voice of Space Ghost and Blue Falcon

* Ed Gilbert (Enforcer Sgt), also the voice of Baloo in the Disney TV animated series "Tale Spin"

* Mark Hamill (Burke/Jonny), probably known best for his role of Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes 4-6)

* Robert Ito (Mr. Young), best known for his 7-year stint as Sam Fujiyama in the 1970s series "Quincy, M.E."

Also known more commonly as SWAT Kats, SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron was an animated television show produced by Hanna-Barbera with a superhero/action theme buiding largely on the popularity of other previous series such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

A kindly scientist discovered their bodies and managed to download their memories and personality into robotic frames, which they now use to get revenge on those they feel are responsible for their bad luck.

Having been out of the loop for so long, however, he does not particularly care for the new technology that has advanced during his absence, and strives to eradicate it all and return Megakat City back to the era he's most familiar with.
Aired on 30 July 1995, Yoink of the Yukon was a Hanna-Barbera/Cartoon Network collaboration which had only one known episode which was seen on Cartoon Network's "What A Cartoon" show. It featured Cadet Yoink, an anthropomorphic animal, and his human superior officer, Sergeant Farflung.

In this short cartoon, a Canadian RCMP base is broken into by a shadowy figure and wakes at dawn a few hours later to line up in their pajamas, much to their commander's dismay. When the perpetrator, called "Noof" the bear by the mounties, shows up and makes a demand to get the animal's furs back in trade for the stolen uniforms, they call in Yoink and Sergeant Farflung to find the bear and get the uniforms back.

Charlie Adler and Rob Paulsen provide the voices for most of the characters in this show. Rob, who voices both Farflung and Yoink, and is perhaps better known for his doing the voices of Raphael (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Yakko Warner (Animaniacs), was a recent guest of Anthrocon (Anthrocon 2007).

Earlier today I reverted an edit in which the species of Cadet Yoink had been changed from "canine" to "animal". I subsequently received the following e-mail:
:Greetings. I have a fond, if somewhat vague, memory of the anthropomomorphic cartoon animal 'Yoink' who appeared in the animated short: "Yoink of the Yukon".
:My recollection gives me every indication that this particular cartoon animal was of musteline, not canine, design. I am curios to know if you have any visual or verbal information which would clarify the biogenetic origins of said stylized organism.
Can anyone who remembers this cartoon throw in their recollection? If someone can shed some light on this point, it would be much appreciated. --mwalimu 23:00, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
