'''WulfSige''' (born 05-19-1979) is a male [[wolf]] with a "small dab" of [[wikipedia:siberian husky|siberian husky]] in his bloodline. Because of his husky ancestry, he sports blue eyes and a relaxed easy going living style. He does not consider himself a [[wolfdog]].

He stands [[plantigrade]], six foot tall from hind paws to ears, is moderately compact, and has a well furred body. His body proportions and form reflect his power and endurance.

His coloring is mostly grey, with some white fur. Distinctive colorings include white fur on this toes (all eight of them), tummy, chest, neck, bottom half of his [[muzzle]], cheeks, and the insides of his ears. The outside of his ears are a darker shade of grey, though it is not always noticeable.

His general expression is keen, but friendly; interested and even mischievous at times. He does not display any possessive qualities, nor is he overly suspicious of strangers or aggressive with others. He is typically nonjudgmental, open minded, and openhearted to most everyone.

== Activities ==

WulfSige is always on the move, and doesn't usually like to be without activities. Because of his active nature, he is involved in many different hobbies. A small sample of these hobbies include electronics, gas turbines, and high power [[wikipedia:lasers|class IV lasers]]. While away from his hobbies and out on the town WulfSige casually drinks with friends, but never abusively. He is also an extreme [[wikipedia:audiophile|audiophile]].

== Marital Status ==

WulfSige is single and his sexual orientation is straight. He currently does not have any plans to search for that special someone and has been a [[wikipedia:loner|loner]] for most his life in the relationship department. Despite that, he's actually very outgoing socially and likes to be around people. He has nothing to hide, but rarely tells anyone what he's up to or where he's going. He very rarely talks to anyone about personal problems, and actually gets uncomfortable and uneasy when doing so. He usually prefers to deal with problems on his own for no other reason except for it's what makes him comfortable. He loves to help friends and family and is very protective of them.

== The look ==

'''Wolfers''' is a male [[anthromorphic]] full-blooded South African [[wolf]]. He is roughly 6ft tall and well defined but not chunky. Being a pure wolf, he is rather plain, with no special features or abilities with the exception that his fur color is mostly grayish blue, and has an [[wikipedia:iridescent|iridescent]] gleam. It changes color slightly when viewed from different angles, ranging from darker hues of blue-gray, to a lighter bluish color. The blue fur is accented with softer light gray fur over his muzzle, chest, and belly. (His chest being particularly furry) This lighter variation extends further down between his inner thighs and under his tail. He has big gleaming hazel eyes that seem to look right into a person’s soul, but in a pleasant way.

== The personality ==

Wolfers is a friendly, talkative [[furry]]; and a proud member of the [[fandom]]. He exhibits a lot of personality traits that one may expect from [[wolves]]; things like possessiveness, camaraderie and strong principles. Yet he has an inherently softer side to his being. He is generally not distrustful of others and sometimes even slightly naive. He values family and friendship greatly. He is never judgmental, always open-minded, and inquisitive. He also talks slightly too much and is somewhat lazy at times.

His softer side is sometimes overshadowed by his bad temper. However it does take a great deal of provocation to make him lose his temper. When in this state he sulks and talks to no one. Further aggravation may, on rare occasions, result in irrational behavior.

Generally you’ll find him a pleasant fellow who loves [[hug|hugs]], [[furpile|furpiles]] and such other [[furry]] things. He won’t bite unless you ask him to. General silliness and copious amounts of humor is all in a day for the [[wolf]].

== The furry lifestyle ==

Wolfers has an artistic nick in his left paw, and likes to exploit it. He isn’t very efficient with digital media, and prefers to stick with pencils and paper. He loves drawing [[anthromorphic]] [[characters]] and their feral counterparts, and also the occasional landscape drawing. Presently he is working on a comic strip idea but with only three frames drawn it may take some time… He also enjoys writing [[furry]] stories, especially of the romantic sort.

Wolfers enjoys hanging out with friends and making them laugh. However, it’s not always clear if said friends are laughing with him or at him. He likes being random and doing unexpected things.

He is single and prefers the more masculine members of the [[fandom]].

At the moment he is studying to understand the complicated workings of that dreadful machine more commonly referred to as a personal computer.

He exhibits a lot of personality traits that one may expect from [[wolves]]; things like possessiveness, camaraderie and strong principles. Yet he has an inherently softer side to his being. He is generally not distrustful of others and sometimes even slightly naive. He values family and friendship greatly. He is never judgmental, always open-minded, and inquisitive. He also talks slightly too much and is somewhat lazy at times.

His softer side is sometimes overshadowed by his bad temper. However it does take a great deal of provocation to make him lose his temper. When in this state he sulks and talks to no one. Further aggravation may, on rare occasions, result in irrational behavior.

Wolfers has an artistic nick in his left paw, and likes to exploit it. He isn’t very efficient with digital media, and prefers to stick with pencils and paper. He loves drawing [[anthromorphic]] [[characters]] and their feral counterparts, and also the occasional landscape drawing. Presently he is working on a comic strip idea but with only three frames drawn it may take some time… He also enjoys writing [[furry]] stories, especially of the romantic sort.

Wolfers enjoys hanging out with friends and making them laugh. However, it’s not always clear if said friends are laughing with him or at him. He likes being random and doing unexpected things.

He is single and prefers the more masculine members of the [[fandom]].

At the moment he is studying to understand the complicated workings of that dreadful machine more commonly referred to as a personal computer.

So your looking for information about me, huh? Well, Other than pretending to be a wolf online, my real name is Jason and I'm just your typical guy trying to find his way though life. I travel quite a bit for work, post a few times a week in my Livejournal, eat, sleep, then wake up and do it all over again :P

I work full time for a production company as their lead engineer and special effects consultant. Basically what this transcribes to is: I have more "ALL ACCESS" badges than I know what to do with from past events and shows. I can humbly say I've been to more places and have done more things than I ever thought would of been possible in my lifetime. Granted it not all fun and games, but it's definitely been an experience thus far! ;-)

I'm also somewhat of a media freak. (I take pictures & videos of various things I like to do) This can include hobbies, vacations, cool projects at work, or anything out of the norm really... I do this so in the years to come I can go back and reminisce of the "good `ol days" and wonder if it was all worth it.

I'm actually pretty friendly and while I'm not new to the Furry Fandom, I'm just now making an effort to try and get involved.

Wulfsige:

WulfSige is a 26 year old male wolf with a "small dab" of Siberian husky in his bloodline. Because of his husky ancestry, he sports blue eyes and a relaxed easy going living style. He does not consider himself a wolf/husky.

WulfSige is always on the move, and doesn't like to sit around very much. If nothings going on, he'll find something to do. This can involve anything from tinkering with electronics to playing with fire. (He's earned the nickname "Pyro" from co-workers and friends since he holds an ATF license for commercial pyrotechnics and at certain times and/or events has been known to make good use of it)

While out on the town WulfSige casually drinks with friends, but never abusively. (At least, not since his school days) He doesn't smoke, and dislikes controlled substances as he's seen many unfortunate situations due to his EMT-I background. He likes to be in control of himself at all times and considers the use of drugs a weakness, but at the same time is not a "buzz kill" at parties.

This is partly a test to see if I've got this editor figured out before I do anything important with it. I notice someone put in an entry for yours truly (in fact that's how I wandered in - I was checking old Other Suns links which led to Nicolai's entry which led to mine) which I may update later; at least I suppose the fact that I was Den Mother of ConFurence for years and am now holding that position in CaliFur is at interesting as anything already there. Also an excuse for putting in a few Ursa Major links inasmuch as I maintain the Recommended List.

I've noticed that the view counts in [[:Special:Popularpages]] have not updated at least since last Thursday on several articles I've been following, even though I've viewed some of those articles myself during that time. I've verified this from two different computers and used a couple of other tricks to make reasonably certain it's not a browser cache issue. What gives?

:Yes. I had a chat with the admins and apparently they had to discontinue popular pages updating due to server loads. We can get the same sort of information from the google analytics stats, so it's no ''great'' loss, although it is a pity that people can't access that without talking to me first.

In practice, for articles about people I've tended to do People and then subcategories of People (note that we only do this category + subcategory thing with people so as to get a full listing in that category), and then their location and year of birth/death. As such it is expected to be reasonably complete, and I do find it odd that there is no mention or reference to the actions mentioned in a certain LiveJournal entry that comes up when searching for your name. What's past is past, and it is important not to dwell on it, but it does deserve recording so that people understand how things ended up as they are today (and so we don't get complaints on the talk page from people who think things are being hidden). This is a bit awkward, but I think this is the right way to do it. I'm looking over a variety of articles to see what I can add to. I lengthened Ken Fletcher's piece a little -- he deserves more, but it's hard to do him justice, even knowing him fairly well. (Ken is modest to the point of humility.) Kevin Duane's piece broke me up. I could add 10,000 words, but wouldn't know where to start. And do I want to make him out a clown, a villain, a well-intentioned schlemiel, or just a guy who got a lot of bad breaks? Then there was Steve Martin. Another perplexing case. I had to add a bit more detail to the "controversy" section, that put the customs debacle in a somewhat better light.

Pages [[Sibe|can and have]] been written about [[Banrai#Past disputes|past disputes]], but in the end the actual situation can usually be boiled down to just a few paragraphs written in a fairly dry tone. If in doubt, just add the facts, and try to make sure you don't leave out any facts in a way that could be viewed as biased by not giving reasonable coverage of all sides of the story. If you think you're up to writing a more lengthy piece, and you think it is appropriate for the article concerned, [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages|be bold]] and do so. Wikipedia has [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Neutrality|lots of advice]] on how to go about this.

:Whatever you do decide to add, thank you for taking the time to do so. WikiFur relies on the contributions of those who know the full history of events, and in many cases there are only a few people in the world who do. Hopefully this project will go some way towards ensuring that the history of the fandom doesn't fade away, as I think that would be a shame.

:I probably wouldn't delete it. It is not the best pictoral representation of the whole show, though. The animation tells a story, but it is not the whole story about the show, just as the show does not tell the whole story about the fandom. Its [http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Taxidermy purpose on ED] was to promote [[fursecution]] (to whit, the conversion of furries into trophies and rugs) and the selection of passages in the animation is limited to those supporting that argument. I believe that a small selection of screen captures from various points in the show added by use of the <nowiki><gallery></nowiki> tag (see [[The Forest]] for an example) might be a better addition to the article.

:If the terms are related, but with differing nuances, then you might discuss them on the same page. For example, [[yiff]] has many meanings, but they are all related to a reasonably close degree, so they are all described on the same page. In general, you can tell "reasonably close" by the categories - if separate meanings would all fall under the same category then you would probably discuss them together (except people, who always have different articles).

:Some terms have numerous unrelated meanings. In this case we divide it into separate pages with a qualifier in lowercase [unless a proper name] and inside parenthesis, and then create what is called a [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Disambiguation|disambiguation page]] for people who link to the term without parentheses. :It's hard to do too much. I guess if you found yourself stretching for something to say, then it might be time to stop. Of course, I have a [[GreenReaper|fairly short article]], but then I don't have much to say about myself, as I've not had a long history in the furry fandom. [[Somewolf]] has a rather longer one. Certainly, comics can be and have been covered in significant depth. The ''[[Gaming Guardians]]'' article is a good idea of the minimum length that gives a good coverage of the key aspects of the topic, enough that it was featured, but it would certainly be possible to add to it without compromising that.

:It is possible to go much farther, of course. For example, Wikipedia has a very extensive article on ''[[Wikipedia:Kevin and Kell|Kevin and Kell]]''. That would be unusual to see here (probably the closest is ''[[Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures]]'', and the plot is hardly covered there), but if people want to go that far on just about any topic it is welcome. We have many relatively short articles through happenstance, not choice. It's not like we're going to run out of paper, after all. :-)

This is a bit awkward, but I think this is the right way to do it. I'm looking over a variety of articles to see what I can add to. I lengthened Ken Fletcher's piece a little -- he deserves more, but it's hard to do him justice, even knowing him fairly well. (Ken is modest to the point of humility.) Kevin Duane's piece broke me up. I could add 10,000 words, but wouldn't know where to start. And do I want to make him out a clown, a villain, a well-intentioned schlemiel, or just a guy who got a lot of bad breaks? Then there was Steve Martin. Another perplexing case. :I probably wouldn't delete it. It is not the best pictoral representation of the whole show, though. The animation tells a story, but it is not the whole story about the show, just as the show does not tell the whole story about the fandom. Its [http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Taxidermy purpose on ED] was to promote [[fursecution]] (to whit, the conversion of furries into trophies and rugs) and the selection of passages in the animation is limited to those supporting that argument. I believe that a small selection of screen captures from various points in the show added by use of the <nowiki><gallery></nowiki> tag (see [[The Forest]] for an example) might be a better addition to the article.

:Short answer - it depends! Long answer follows . . .

:If the terms are related, but with differing nuances, then you might discuss them on the same page. For example, [[yiff]] has many meanings, but they are all related to a reasonably close degree, so they are all described on the same page. In general, you can tell "reasonably close" by the categories - if separate meanings would all fall under the same category then you would probably discuss them together (except people, who always have different articles).

:Some terms have numerous unrelated meanings. In this case we divide it into separate pages with a qualifier in lowercase [unless a proper name] and inside parenthesis, and then create what is called a [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Disambiguation|disambiguation page]] for people who link to the term without parentheses. The page should have the <tt><nowiki>{{disambig}}</nowiki></tt> tag at the bottom. If another topic has the name within it, and a shorterned form might conflict, it is given the full title but also included in the disambiguation page.

The contents box will automatically appear if you have four headers in the article. If you do not (or to move it), you can make it appear by adding <nowiki>__TOC__</nowiki> wherever you want. I sometimes put this inside a div tag that is set to float to the right. You can also hide it with <nowiki>__NOTOC__</nowiki>.

:One question ''I'' have, though - do you have permission from the people who made those pictures to put them on this site? While I appreciate that you wish to improve the articles, it is not enough to just state who owns the copyright of an image - if you do not have explicit permission (either by having asked them or through a blanket license or copyright wavier), we cannot display the images. :It's hard to do too much. I guess if you found yourself stretching for something to say, then it might be time to stop. Of course, I have a [[GreenReaper|fairly short article]], but then I don't have much to say about myself, as I've not had a long history in the furry fandom. [[Somewolf]] has a rather longer one. Certainly, comics can be and have been covered in significant depth. The ''[[Gaming Guardians]]'' article is a good idea of the minimum length that gives a good coverage of the key aspects of the topic, enough that it was featured, but it would certainly be possible to add to it without compromising that.

:It is possible to go much farther, of course. For example, Wikipedia has a very extensive article on ''[[Wikipedia:Kevin and Kell|Kevin and Kell]]''. That would be unusual to see here (probably the closest is ''[[Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures]]'', and the plot is hardly covered there), but if people want to go that far on just about any topic it is welcome. We have many relatively short articles through happenstance, not choice. It's not like we're going to run out of paper, after all. :-)

I think all of us will agree that having subcategories for species, and for characters of those species, is a good thing, up to a certain point. But I'm concerned that we may be getting a little carried away with it. Perhaps we're not to the point yet where we've overdone it and need to backpedal on some of the categories that have been created, but I think we're getting close to that point in some areas, and that it would be a good idea to stop and think about how far we want to go with this.

I've noticed that the view counts in [[:Special:Popularpages]] have not updated at least since last Thursday on several articles I've been following, even though I've viewed some of those articles myself during that time. I've verified this from two different computers and used a couple of other tricks to make reasonably certain it's not a browser cache issue. What gives?

This is a bit awkward, but I think this is the right way to do it. I'm looking over a variety of articles to see what I can add to. I lengthened Ken Fletcher's piece a little -- he deserves more, but it's hard to do him justice, even knowing him fairly well. (Ken is modest to the point of humility.) Kevin Duane's piece broke me up. I could add 10,000 words, but wouldn't know where to start. And do I want to make him out a clown, a villain, a well-intentioned schlemiel, or just a guy who got a lot of bad breaks? Then there was Steve Martin. Another perplexing case. I had to add a bit more detail to the "controversy" section, that put the customs debacle in a somewhat better light.

Pages [[Sibe|can and have]] been written about [[Banrai#Past disputes|past disputes]], but in the end the actual situation can usually be boiled down to just a few paragraphs written in a fairly dry tone. If in doubt, just add the facts, and try to make sure you don't leave out any facts in a way that could be viewed as biased by not giving reasonable coverage of all sides of the story. If you think you're up to writing a more lengthy piece, and you think it is appropriate for the article concerned, [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages|be bold]] and do so. Wikipedia has [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Neutrality|lots of advice]] on how to go about this.

:Whatever you do decide to add, thank you for taking the time to do so. WikiFur relies on the contributions of those who know the full history of events, and in many cases there are only a few people in the world who do. :I probably wouldn't delete it. It is not the best pictoral representation of the whole show, though. The animation tells a story, but it is not the whole story about the show, just as the show does not tell the whole story about the fandom. Its [http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Taxidermy purpose on ED] was to promote [[fursecution]] (to whit, the conversion of furries into trophies and rugs) and the selection of passages in the animation is limited to those supporting that argument. I believe that a small selection of screen captures from various points in the show added by use of the <nowiki><gallery></nowiki> tag (see [[The Forest]] for an example) might be a better addition to the article.

:Short answer - it depends! Long answer follows . . .

:If the terms are related, but with differing nuances, then you might discuss them on the same page. For example, [[yiff]] has many meanings, but they are all related to a reasonably close degree, so they are all described on the same page. In general, you can tell "reasonably close" by the categories - if separate meanings would all fall under the same category then you would probably discuss them together (except people, who always have different articles).

:Some terms have numerous unrelated meanings. In this case we divide it into separate pages with a qualifier in lowercase [unless a proper name] and inside parenthesis, and then create what is called a [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Disambiguation|disambiguation page]] for people who link to the term without parentheses. The contents box will automatically appear if you have four headers in the article. If you do not (or to move it), you can make it appear by adding <nowiki>__TOC__</nowiki> wherever you want. I sometimes put this inside a div tag that is set to float to the right. You can also hide it with <nowiki>__NOTOC__</nowiki>.

:One question ''I'' have, though - do you have permission from the people who made those pictures to put them on this site? While I appreciate that you wish to improve the articles, it is not enough to just state who owns the copyright of an image - if you do not have explicit permission (either by having asked them or through a blanket license or copyright wavier), we cannot display the images. :It's hard to do too much. I guess if you found yourself stretching for something to say, then it might be time to stop. Of course, I have a [[GreenReaper|fairly short article]], but then I don't have much to say about myself, as I've not had a long history in the furry fandom. [[Somewolf]] has a rather longer one. Certainly, comics can be and have been covered in significant depth. The ''[[Gaming Guardians]]'' article is a good idea of the minimum length that gives a good coverage of the key aspects of the topic, enough that it was featured, but it would certainly be possible to add to it without compromising that.

:It is possible to go much farther, of course. For example, Wikipedia has a very extensive article on ''[[Wikipedia:Kevin and Kell|Kevin and Kell]]''. That would be unusual to see here (probably the closest is ''[[Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures]]'', and the plot is hardly covered there), but if people want to go that far on just about any topic it is welcome. We have many relatively short articles through happenstance, not choice. It's not like we're going to run out of paper, after all. :-)

I think all of us will agree that having subcategories for species, and for characters of those species, is a good thing, up to a certain point. But I'm concerned that we may be getting a little carried away with it. Perhaps we're not to the point yet where we've overdone it and need to backpedal on some of the categories that have been created, but I think we're getting close to that point in some areas, and that it would be a good idea to stop and think about how far we want to go with this.

I've noticed that the view counts in [[:Special:Popularpages]] have not updated at least since last Thursday on several articles I've been following, even though I've viewed some of those articles myself during that time. I've verified this from two different computers and used a couple of other tricks to make reasonably certain it's not a browser cache issue. What gives?

:Yes. I had a chat with the admins and apparently they had to discontinue popular pages updating due to server loads. We can get the same sort of information from the google analytics stats, so it's no ''great'' loss, although it is a pity that people can't access that without talking to me first.

This is a bit awkward, but I think this is the right way to do it. I'm looking over a variety of articles to see what I can add to. I lengthened Ken Fletcher's piece a little -- he deserves more, but it's hard to do him justice, even knowing him fairly well. (Ken is modest to the point of humility.) Kevin Duane's piece broke me up. I could add 10,000 words, but wouldn't know where to start. And do I want to make him out a clown, a villain, a well-intentioned schlemiel, or just a guy who got a lot of bad breaks? Then there was Steve Martin. Another perplexing case. I had to add a bit more detail to the "controversy" section, that put the customs debacle in a somewhat better light.

:I probably wouldn't delete it. It is not the best pictoral representation of the whole show, though. The animation tells a story, but it is not the whole story about the show, just as the show does not tell the whole story about the fandom. Its [http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Taxidermy purpose on ED] was to promote [[fursecution]] (to whit, the conversion of furries into trophies and rugs) and the selection of passages in the animation is limited to those supporting that argument. I believe that a small selection of screen captures from various points in the show added by use of the <nowiki><gallery></nowiki> tag (see [[The Forest]] for an example) might be a better addition to the article.

:If the terms are related, but with differing nuances, then you might discuss them on the same page. For example, [[yiff]] has many meanings, but they are all related to a reasonably close degree, so they are all described on the same page. In general, you can tell "reasonably close" by the categories - if separate meanings would all fall under the same category then you would probably discuss them together (except people, who always have different articles).

:Some terms have numerous unrelated meanings. In this case we divide it into separate pages with a qualifier in lowercase [unless a proper name] and inside parenthesis, and then create what is called a [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Disambiguation|disambiguation page]] for people who link to the term without parentheses. The page should have the <tt><nowiki>{{disambig}}</nowiki></tt> tag at the bottom. I sometimes put this inside a div tag that is set to float to the right. You can also hide it with <nowiki>__NOTOC__</nowiki>.

:One question ''I'' have, though - do you have permission from the people who made those pictures to put them on this site? :It's hard to do too much. I guess if you found yourself stretching for something to say, then it might be time to stop. Of course, I have a [[GreenReaper|fairly short article]], but then I don't have much to say about myself, as I've not had a long history in the furry fandom. [[Somewolf]] has a rather longer one. Certainly, comics can be and have been covered in significant depth. The ''[[Gaming Guardians]]'' article is a good idea of the minimum length that gives a good coverage of the key aspects of the topic, enough that it was featured, but it would certainly be possible to add to it without compromising that.

:It is possible to go much farther, of course. For example, Wikipedia has a very extensive article on ''[[Wikipedia:Kevin and Kell|Kevin and Kell]]''. That would be unusual to see here (probably the closest is ''[[Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures]]'', and the plot is hardly covered there), but if people want to go that far on just about any topic it is welcome. We have many relatively short articles through happenstance, not choice. It's not like we're going to run out of paper, after all. :-)

== Species and characters categories ==

I think all of us will agree that having subcategories for species, and for characters of those species, is a good thing, up to a certain point. But I'm concerned that we may be getting a little carried away with it. Perhaps we're not to the point yet where we've overdone it and need to backpedal on some of the categories that have been created, but I think we're getting close to that point in some areas, and that it would be a good idea to stop and think about how far we want to go with this.

:I look at it this way: If I'm a casual reader and I'm interested in, let's say, wolf characters. I click on the Wolf characters category and I see a whole bunch of names, plus (in this instance) sub-categories for Artic Wolf characters, Werewolves, and Wolf-Hybrid characters. Am I going to click on the subcategories to find the one or two listings beneath each entry, or ignore them and use the large main list?
