The '''Fur Valleys''' (also known as "The Valleys") is a group of [[island (Second Life)|island simulations]] (or "sims") within [[Second Life]]. The Valleys are located in the island cloud, southwest of [[Anshe Chung|Anshe Chung's]] [[The Forest|Dreamland]], and northwest of [[Furnation Worlds]].

== History ==

The first sim in this region, Fox Valley, was created in November 2005 by [[RedFox Costello]] in order to form a furry area apart from Dreamland, due to a difference of opinions between RedFox and Anshe Chung.

More sims were added, each typically owned and run by different individuals, until the region became the Fur Valley of today. However, the region is constantly growing.

Two sims did move out from this region, in May 2006. Both were owned by [[Alyssa Vixen]], and included: Kitsune Valley, now FurNation Kitsune of the [[FurNation Worlds]] sim conglomerate; and Fae Valley, which joined with [[Meeting Island]] and became Raccoon Hill but has since vanished. Masquerade Valley moved out in December 2006 when it was sold, and decided to set permissions to Members Only accessing it, becoming a free-floating island.

As each island simulation in Fur Valley is owned by different individuals (with a few individuals owning more than one), the theme and purpose of each sim differs greatly. Despite this, the Valleys do form a strong community.

Open lines of communication exists between the owners of each sim, both as a safeguard against [[griefers]], as well as determining where and when new sims may be added to the region. In general, the owners who's sims neighbor vacant spaces have the final say regarding new sims in these spaces.

Originally, a rule was implemented regarding naming, such that each new sim required a last name of "Valley." This rule has since been dropped.

Ryu Valley is primarily a residential sim. It's main feature is the giant volcano at it's center, which constantly spews "lavabombs", harmless objects which leave a streak of lighted particles behind them, but which do often enter neighboring sims.

For a while, the sim's only connection to the rest of the region was via an ocean ("void") sim. It is back to being only accessible via teleport only.

About half of the area is leased out to groups and people, although there has been little change in the properties since it started.

While it is zoophilia friendly, there is nothing that should shock people used to mature furries on the ground, as the "Objectionable" content is kept in group-only areas with warning signs posted on the ways into the areas. Many of the visitors to the sim don't realise that there is anything different from a typical furry sim.

Most ground-level areas are open to the public, although there is many rental areas for people that are differently themed to members, including Stable Stalls.

It includes a [[Daryth Kennedy]] [[Dragon]] Avatar (See: [[Isle_of_Wyrms]]) friendly Club, a Mall with reasonable rates, a Casino, and a Money Tree

The '''Fur Valleys''' sometimes known simply as "The Valleys", is a group of [[island (Second Life)|island simulations]] (or "sims") within [[Second Life]]. The Valleys are located in the island cloud, southwest of [[Anshe Chung|Anshe Chung's]] [[The Forest|Dreamland]], and northwest of [[Furnation Worlds]].

== History ==

The first sim in this region, Fox Valley, was created in November 2005 by [[RedFox Costello]] in order to form a furry area apart from Dreamland, due to a difference of opinions between RedFox and Anshe Chung.

More sims were added, each typically owned and run by different individuals, until the region became the Fur Valley of today. However, the region is constantly growing.

Two sims did move out from this region, in May 2006. Both were owned by [[Alyssa Vixen]], and included: Kitsune Valley, now FurNation Kitsune of the [[FurNation Worlds]] sim conglomerate; and Fae Valley, which joined with [[Meeting Island]] and became Raccoon Hill but has since vanished. Masquerade Valley moved out in December 2006 when it was sold, and decided to set permissions to Members Only accessing it, becoming a free-floating island.

As each island simulation in Fur Valley is owned by different individuals (with a few individuals owning more than one), the theme and purpose of each sim differs greatly. Despite this, the Valleys do form a strong community.

Open lines of communication exists between the owners of each sim, both as a safeguard against [[griefers]], as well as determining where and when new sims may be added to the region. In general, the owners who's sims neighbor vacant spaces have the final say regarding new sims in these spaces.

Originally, a rule was implemented regarding naming, such that each new sim required a last name of "Valley." This rule has since been dropped.

Zeta Valley provides a friendly area to [[zoophilia|zoophiles]], and for this reason has come under a certain level of controversy from the other Fur Valley sims. For a while, the sim's only connection to the rest of the region was via an ocean ("void") sim. It is back to being only accessible via teleport only.

About half of the area is leased out to groups and people, although there has been little change in the properties since it started.
