It is the first furry convention to be held on Canada's west coast.
As of 2016, it is now held at the Executive Airport Plaza Hotel in Richmond, British Columbia..
Community Spotlight
VancouFur's Community Spotlight, first appearing in 2013, highlights local talent from the British Columbia, Alberta and Northern Washington furry community.

Howloween
VancouFur has very close ties to Howloween. During the initial concept phase of VancouFur 2012, it was decided that Aphinity — organizer of Howloween since 2008 — should be an integral part of bringing a full-fledged convention to Vancouver, and he was named co-chair. The Executive Suites, home of VancouFur, also became home to Howloween in 2011, acting as a sort of dress rehearsal for the convention. Howloween offers pre-registration at the door for the following year's VancouFur.
Its creators and participants are, unless otherwise noted, furries who seek to promote a general-audience atmosphere and emphasize good ethics. WagzTail has, over time, been sponsored by various groups and people who believe in providing safe tools and resources.

In December 2011, the podcast was the source of a major re-organization and re-branding, called "WagzTail 2.0," but with much of the same participants and staff. During this period, WagzTail moved to a 30-minute broadcast format as well as limiting the number of people who could be present in recordings. The podcast also changed from a monthly to a weekly production format. After taking a hiatus in October 2013, following its 100th episode, WagzTail again relaunched in January 2014 with its first episode of season 3. The relaunch retained the primary cast members and saw the addition of two new regulars.

The show has been edited by several people over the years. Initially edited by Jeffery "Wolfin" Core, WagzTail announced in April 2012 that a new dedicated editor, Silent, would be added to the show to improve the release schedule and to edit a backlog of shows. As of February 2013, he has since left as full-time editor, and the episodes are now edited primarily by Levi Wolstrom.
WagzTail is a Christian furry podcast. WagzTail is the longest running and perhaps only Christian podcast serving the anthropomorphic/furry community. It’s creators and participants are, unless otherwise noted, Christians who attempt to emphasize good ethics and morals and share topics from a Biblical perspective. WagzTail has, over time, been sponsored by various groups and people who believe in providing safe tools and resources.

In December, 2011 the podcast was the source of a major re-organization and re-banding, called "WagzTail 2.0" but with much of the same participants and staff. During this period WagzTail moved to a 30-minute broadcast format as well as limiting the number of people who could be present in recordings. The podcast also changed from a monthly to a weekly production format.

After a short hiatus WagzTail announced in April that a new dedicated editor, Silent, would be added to the show to improve the release schedule to edit a backlog of shows.
Furs For Christ, formerly known as Furrs Fur Christ (also known as FFC), is a small community geared for Christian furries and anthropomorphic artists.

History
Furrs Fur Christ was created by Razi who hosts the site herself. The forums are also presently moderated by Ian the Gecko, Gypsi-Rae Leonine, and Sleet.

In July 2007, FFC was ranked #3 on Cracked.com's "WTF?!: The 8 Strangest Communities on the Web" list, above Second Life at #5. This prompted a flood of unregistered guests and some new registrations; as a result, the administrators closed off most of the site to non-members and created a membership application to help weed out spammers and trolls. Later that year, Something Awful featured FFC in its Weekend Web article. The article includes screenshots of the site along with sarcastic comments about the contents of the screenshots. This led to another flurry of guests viewing the site, some of whom spammed the membership applications section.

Activism
FFC members as a group attended Rocky Mountain Fur Con and Anthrocon 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Their activities included Bible studies, a Sunday service, attending panels and sharing their faith with other furries.

Present Day
In October 2011, FFC moved to a new domain, FursForChrist.com, with a new name, forum, and image gallery as well as social networking capabilities. During the move, some of the moderators and leadership were shuffled, with the existing forum remaining open as an archive until present date. The current forum has been plagued with issues during the upgrade due to various technical limitations imposed by the social software. A second move is planned to move to a more stable software; however, this has been placed on hold indefinitely due to availability issues of admins and the concern that the community may not survive a second move.

FFC's original mandate was a forum where followers of Christ who also appreciate anthropomorphic art can relate to one another and discuss relevant issues. It also houses a small, clean anthropomorphic art gallery which is not limited to “religious” art and welcomes deep, non-Christian, non-anthropomorphic material as well. Since the move to the new domain, users can also create custom profiles and join private discussion groups as an alternative to Facebook and other furry social networks.
Wanted to start of the discussion page here since someone decided to post a direct jibe to me in the edit history. First of all, I do not work for FFC, but I am staff on other Christian communities. We don't see FFC as competition, although we do often question their competency. Let me attempt to clarify the accusations in the edit statement.

: Wolfin, you lie. There's nothing about disallowing a consensus or challenging the moral authority of the forum's leadership. You're the only other furry religious community who's spoken up about it. -- User: IantheGecko

So, first of all this isn't a lie; and, consensus is almost always disallowed under both the "All views, no matter how contrary to one's own, must be treated with respect." rule and the "Be willing to listen with understanding and in the end "agree to disagree."" rules. I would invite you to show where this has ever allowed a full consensus to be reached. This may not even be a bad thing; but, it is an actual fact. Also; the serious discussion being the most actice forum by far is also factual; and I've added references for both.

As for challenging forum staff, there is "Do not publicly question the competence of our staff, unless in the Bug Reports/Site Suggestions forum. Either use that forum or a private message to a higher-up if you have any concerns with a staff member." also in the forum rules; I've now altered the sentence in question to be clearer and hopefully address this issues. Remember that this /is/ supposed to be a non-biased medium and you cannot just remove factual material because it may cast an unpleasant light; it's important there be balance. Most of the communities I represent don't even have a full article here, so, it's not like I'd want to redirect attention. Hopefully this clarifies the matter. --Wolfin 22:00, 26 January 2012 (EST)

: OK, I'll concede the staff competence point, but the rules say nothing about challenging the mods's moral authority. I quote Sleet: "this does not mean you aren't allowed to disagree with a moderator in a controversial thread. When it comes to that kind of thing, a moderator is no different than any other user. However, if a moderator tells you something as a moderator, failure to comply can result in disciplinary action. This includes but is not limited to being told to calm down, stay on topic, or change offensive information in your profile." Furthermore, you were the only "other ministry" to complain about our site, on the site. Furs of Faith, the U&G Pub, Open Arms, & FurryChristians haven't said anything about it, nor has Oren, so it's a personal issue you have with us. And that too keeps the article from being neutral. IantheGecko 23:47, 26 January 2012 (EST)
:: I'm just shocked you decided to include two (mostly) dead ministries and open arms in that list... that's pretty pure desperation. I'll leave it be for now and have someone else who can be more assured of impartiality look over it. --Wolfin 00:22, 27 January 2012 (EST)

At one point a second move was planned to move to a more stable software; however, this was later scrapped due to availability issues of admins and the concern that the community may not survive a second move.

Furs For Christ's most active forum is their serious discussion sub-forum, where furs of varying opinions may engage in differing viewpoints on specific topics. This sub-forum includes rules that disallow forming a consensus that would potentially anger members, requiring members to agree to disagree on diving issues. Despite this high focus on opinions and topical conflicts, the forum staff strictly forbid any member from challenging the abilities or moral authority of the forum or its leadership. These combined attitudes have caused Furs For Christ to be largely seen as hypocritical by other furry religious communities, in some cases causing interventions to be posted from leaders of these other communities.
Christian Furs, aka CF or CF.net, is a newer forum and multimedia gallery aimed towards Christian furries.

History
What may seem like a clone of Furrs Fur Christ was actually thought up before the administrator, Flechmen, even knew about FFC. An offer on MyBB Community Forums along with unease of more traditional furry sites gave Flechmen the idea to create the forums. Although the offer on the MyBB Community Forums did not come through, a few responses to a thread on Fur Affinity drove him to make the forums anyway. The forums were first officially opened December 2, 2008; however the forums were first up and running by November 19. The opening was delayed so a proper domain name could be purchased.
Web hosts came and went, Flechmen worked for most of them as part of the support team. The forum and all of its daughter sites (galleries, wiki...) are run on a dedicated server donated by Wolfin.

What makes CF Different?
The administrator claims that the major difference between CF and other Christian furry forums is the combination of forums and multimedia galleries (that are separate from the forums), as well as the use of "more user friendly" software.
The forums, although aimed at Christians, are open to anyone who wants to come. The Christian parts of the forums are hidden to most, even regular members. When someone registers, they are sent a small, opinion based questionnaire via private message. Upon return of this message, a regular member is given full access. This is to help control trolling and flaming.
The administrator of CF also posts a prayer each day in a forum that is visible to all members. A daily devotional is also posted each day automatically.

Game server
Christian Furs has a Minecraft beta server at minecraft.christianfurs.net.
