== How to nominate a comic ==

Please nominate up to three comics below (preface with *). Comics must have an existing article - if you want to feature a comic without an article, write the article first, then nominate it. Note that both general audience and [[:Category:Mature comics|mature]] nominations are welcome.

Others may support a nomination with indented comments (preface with :, and sign your name with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>. Support is not the only (or even primary factor) for featuring - the justification given for featuring in the nomination will weigh heavily, as will availability of a high quality panel or title image representing the comic in the article, and of course the article itself.

The Autumnlands

Wolfen32: Added pictures

'''"The Autumnlands"''' is a 14 volume science fantasy comic book written by '''Kurt Busiek'''.
[[File:Autumnlands MC.png|framed|Dunstan Dourlainson, aka 'Dusty' ]]

It follows the adventures of several characters - anthropomorhic denizens of a floating city, in the days prior to and following the collapse of the city. This sets off a quest all centering around a supposed mystical warrior from ages past. But once summoned, this warrior may not be exactly what they had expected. The artwork features intricate fantasy designs, as well as exquisite attention to detail of the various furry races in the world of the comic. There are dogs, owls, foxes, and others. Not all species are friendly, however. Especially those who do not get the privilege of living in one of the floating cities in the sky.

It was published by Image comics, from 2015 to 2017. From Image: "When the wizards of the Autumnlands reach through time to bring back a legendary hero, they don’t get the savior they expected. But in a shattered, besieged city, he’s their only hope of survival—and possibly their entire world’s, as well."<ref name="Source">[https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases/the-autumnlands-vol.-1-tooth-claw], Source.</ref>

'''Nexus''' is the fursona of '''Corey Urciolo''', also known as "'''Nexus Mod'''"

Corey gained notoriety in the fandom initially from his distinctive art style - with a focus on anthro creatures with exaggerated hindquarters. His art was refined and was often in demand. However, the artist's failure to complete many of the pieces customers had paid for gained him a reputation as a scammer. During this time, he was an active fursuiter in the Triangle region of North Carolina, attendign the monthly Pullen Park meets quite often. For these, he wore a character which has since been sold to another fursuiter - Mocha the Angel Dragon.

However, after purchasing adult artwork of this character, he faced strict backlash from the [[Angel Dragon]] community, which established standards for the usage of angel dragon characters and artwork - namely that it be PG13. This backlash culminated in his decision to sell the suit, though Corey still owns others.

Meanwhile, the outcry against Nexus continued as he took on yet more commissions, while others gave substantiated evidence that theirs had not been completed. Several furry fans posted screenshots of chat-logs where Corey reacted strongly to commissioners who requested to hear updates regarding their pieces. This aggressive, emotional lambasting would ultimately become a key feature of his online personality, and issues stemming from it.<ref>''[https://kiwifarms.net/threads/corey-urciolo-nexybutt-dagefenram-nexymobile.36294/]''. KiwiFarms. Retrieved December 7, 2017.</ref>.

== Convention Shooting Threats ==
[[File:Nexus threat.png|framed|right|One of many such threats.]]

Similar to other infamous furries, Nexus would let his emotional state push him into aggressive outbursts online - both in private and on his public social media. When it wasn't directed at customers, he took to Facebook to unload his frustrations, targeting the Angel Dragon community, his customers, and others. He threatened to sell his suit, Mocha the Angel Dragon, and subsequently followed up on that claim.

Corey gained larger attention in the fandom in fall of 2017 when he posted several online threats to engage in violence against attendees at the [[Midwest Fur Fest]] convention in Chicago. <ref>''[https://twitter.com/steampunkdrox/status/928432611092865024?s=09]''. Twitter. Retrieved December 7, 2017.</ref> Due to his threats, administrative staff at the convention took appropriate action, and swiftly let the public know that they were aware of the situation. Corey subsequently did not attend the 2017 event, and shut down his social media accounts - some of which have since been reinstated. Several people contacted his local police department, and though there is no evidence of an arrest being made, he was spoken to at his home by local officers.

[[File:MFF threat response twitter.png|smallpx|thumbnail|right]]

While his status in regards to being banned from future Midwest Fur Fest events is currently unknown, Nexus has expressed interest in attending other conventions such as [[Tarpaw Furmeet]] and [[Anthro New England]]. Again, information on whether he will be blastlisted from these events due to his aggressive, violent threats is yet to be seen.

Skunki Kurtz

2017-12-07T17:13:45Z

Wolfen32: Added to applicable categories

Skunki is the fursona of the fursuiter James Kurtz, of South Carolina. Skunki, as his name implies, is an anthropomorphic North American skunk. His fursuit was constructed by [[Yoka Hiro|Yoka Hiro of 'Cwoodsdean Creations']]. Skunki's involvement in the fandom began in private, as a furry fan in the 1980s and 90s. However, he found the fandom later on. Skunki is considered a greymuzzle, not just because of his early involvement - but also the distinction that he is over 30 years of age; the common cutoff point.
[[File:Skunki Fursuit.jpeg|thumbnail|Skunki posing during the annual 'Boo at the Zoo' event as part of FangCon]]
Skunki is known for his playful performances in suit, both speaking and pantomime. He is a regular attendee at the annual [[Fangcon]] convention, held in Birmingham, AL.

Skunki expresses a preference for older styles of furry artwork, such as the work of [[Jim Hardiman]]. This preference calls upon styles influenced by the cartoons and comics of the 1980s and 90s, cartoons like SwatCats, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, among others. This dynamic, semi-realistic style was carried over into many early furry fandom artworks, which differ heavily from the current popular styles. Likewise, his own art reflects this preference. However, the artist is not limited strictly to furry art, as he draws other fandoms as well.

He is also known for his involvement in the [[Brony]] Fandom. Specifically, he is a fan of the revival cartoon series pioneered by Lauren Faust. As an adult fanof the cartoon, he considers himself a brony, and even enjoys adult pony-related artwork. Skunki appreciated the merits of both old and new aspects of the furry fandom,but is often critical of how strong certain activities have become. Whereas [[Fursuiting]] has become the primary focal point of furry conventions, many furry fans remember days when it was mostly about the artwork - as it is online. Even prior to the Internet, magazines, fan-zines, and meetups at science fiction conventions were the only way that furries were able to express their shared passion for anthropomorphic characters.

Because of his age, Skunki is highly conscious of the gradual shifts happening in the fandom. However, he has a live-and-let-live personality, and cares only that people do what they want to, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Such is, after all, one of the core pillars of the community.

'''Blondi''', also known as '''DJ Blondfox''', alt spelling '''DJ Blöndfox''' (real name '''Richard Lindsey'''; born July 9, 1993), is a [[christian]] [[furry]] [[DJ]], [[Musician|electronic musician]] and [[W:sound engineer|sound engineer]] who lives in [[W:Dallas, Georgia|Dallas, Georgia]], USA.<ref>[https://www.facebook.com/DJ.Blondfox about DJ Blondfox's profile] page on [[Facebook]]. == Biography ==

'''Blondi''' is an [[art]] [[W:connoisseur|connoisseur]], sound equipment collector, and [[anthro]] [[webcomics|webcomic]] fanatic. He is the lead sound engineer for [http://dallas-hiram.patch.com/listings/christs-freedom-church Christ's Freedom Church] in [[W:Dallas, Georgia|Dallas, Georgia]]. He owns a home studio, and records demo's bi-weekly.

'''Blondi''' is engaged to [[furry artist]] [[Toffy Fennecat]]. He proposed to her on Halloween, and celebrated by going to [[Fangcon]] 2013 together.

== Fandom involvement ==

'''Blondi''' became a part of the [[furry fandom]] in early 2009, and introduced most of his close friends to it afterwards. His favorite convention is his home convention, [[FWA]]. Blondi is owner and operator of a relatively unknown furry netlabel [[Blondfox Records]].

=== Fursonas ===

* '''Blondi''' - Blondi is an [[arctic fox]] and [[dhole]] [[hybrid]] with with autumn-like hues in patterns throughout his [[pelt]]. He has both an anthro and [[feral]] forms.

:Blondi grew up and led a normal life as a human, and after high school he joined the marines which led to him joining the [[W:CIA|CIA]] and was trained as a spy and assassin. After being trained and had shown proficient skill he was picked up by a government funded covert operation with the front '''''SPiN Industries'''''. SPiN hired him from the CIA for his specific skills in killing for a project.

:SPiN had discovered a parallel universe of where each and every human on earth had an [[anthropomorphic]] [[W:doppelgänger|doppelgänger]]. He was sent by SPiN into this parallel universe to find, kill, and bring back anthros to examine. After bringing back a large number of them he underwent genetic modification to become an anthro so he could be a sleeper-cell plant in their society.

:After undergoing a full [[transformation]] he was sent on his mission, but due to user error on the teleportation device he appeared above a busy street instead of in an ally. He was hit by a car and lost his memory. He now resides in the parallel universe as an anthro, abandoned by SPiN.

* '''Yuumi''' - Yuumi (full '''Masayuumai''') is a [[Wikipedia:Caribou|caribou]] and marbled [[red fox]] hybrid which is, overall, black and white, with special facial patterns and white [[horn]]s to set him out from the crowd. Yuumi is a [[shapeshifter]] and has anthro, [[taur]], [[human]], and feral forms.

:Yummi was originally a feral marbled red fox owned by a [http://www.cherokee.org/AboutTheNation/Culture/General/CherokeeMedicineMenandWomen.aspx Cherokee Medicine man]. When the medicine man neared death, the fox did also, and the medicine man sent his spirit into the fox and with the medicine man's dying breath he spoke to the fox and told him to lay on a red clay bank on the Etowah river.

:The fox died on the red clay, and the medicine man and the fox's spirits were embedded in the riverbank where the fox lay. Many years later the clay was gathered for the making of necklaces. A specific necklace was bought by a boy, and the boy wore the necklace, and while the boy was sleeping, the fox and the medicine man spoke wisdom to the boy, but he heard them as one. The boy had daydreams of the Fox-person and eventually through the power of the boy's thoughts, the spirit became real. Yuumi is the manifestation of these spirits.

=== Fursuit ===

'''Blondi''''s [[fursuit]] of the same name was originally made in early 2010 by [[Tunny]], under his newly formed company [[TunnySaysIDK]], just in time for that year's FWA. The brown neck [[fur]] was a later addition by '''Tunny'''. Later repairs and upgrades were done by [[annuthecatgirl]], including a new nose, [[whisker]]s, eyebrows, new ears, and structural changes.

Buldinn Sheep

2017-12-06T17:24:55Z

Wolfen32:

Buldinn is an extremely popular, though controversial, fursuiter. Buldinn's fursona and fursuit are a white sheep with curved horns. The bodysuit is designed for adult fursuiting videos, also known as "murrsuiting". The quality and popularity of his video is partially what lead to his larger notoriety in the fandom. The video, "Sheep Gets Rammed" amassed 131,000+ views on X-Tube before being removed - an impressive number for niche content like murrsuiting. X-Tube is a platform for all genres of adult films.
[[File:Buldinn_Fursuit.jpeg|thumbnail]]
Buldinn's first video has since been followed by others, each with similar reception. However, due to the nature of the filming, does not come without controversy. Buldinn is open about his involvement in these productions. These videos are often filmed while in attendance at popular fandom conventions, such as Midwest Fur Fest, leading many to criticize a convention being used for such productions, despite it being done in private, with consenting adults, and an extreme amount of discretion.

Buldinn's second claim to provocation lies in how he staunchly wears his fursuit - the parts not in personal contact in the aforementioned adult content - in semi-public events like furry conventions. While Buldinn is careful not to wear his fursuit around minors, some criticize him for wearing the selfsame fursuit used in "Sheep Gets Rammed" out among others. However, proponents are quick to say that he has the right, as the suit is meticulously cleaned, and the fursuiter only wears the parts which might not come into contact with bodily fluids. Thus, Buldinn is not only a producer and actor of furry content, but he is also a public figure in the ongoing debate of "murrsuiting" and all it entails.

Finally, Buldinn stands out in the furry community as a provocateur and political advocate for various minority viewpoints as well as engaging in political debates online. This primarily occurs on his Facebook accounts, usually to the effect of "Buldinn Girshovich" or "Michael Girshovich" - the latter being his given name outside of the fandom. These debates have often caused him to be the target of harassment and abuse, leading to the closure of some of his past accounts. Nonetheless, he remains a strong voice for politically conservative viewpoints and ideas within the fandom.; the fandom, which has historically had publicly leftward leanings on the political spectrum.

His social media is replete with symbols of national pride - flags, guns, and other symbolic memorabilia. He was also an early and current advocate for the sitting president of the United States, Donald Trump - even early into his candidacy. Despite the results of the democratic election of 2016, he has received harsh, sometimes extremely egregious backlash for his support of the president. Due to this, he takes it as a badge of pride to flaunt - as is his right - certain memorabilia such as his "Make America Great Again" hat, as popularized by Donald Trump himself. Some criticize '''alleged''' anti-gay rhetoric espoused, they claim, by the president, and wonder how Buldinn can still follow him, as Buldinn is himself homosexual - but does not consider himself part of the larger LGBT community, which he believes to have become toxic of late. However, this is largely part of his provocation tactics to start the debate over such issues as reform within any self-identifying community. Moreover, many argue that the rhetoric targeted by many opponents of Donald Trump either is not anti-LGBT at all, or does not reflect his true views on the subject.

Buldinn, then, opposes dogmatically targeting the president's choice of words, instead basing his support on his actions and personality in office. His support for such a candidate also reflects Buldinn's history as a member of the armed forces. Buldinn, prior to the fandom, was a military veteran, serving several active missions overseas. This in turn reflects a pride in his country, one in which the furry fandom can flourish, and the liberties and freedoms it bestows. So much so,that he was willing to die in the maintenance of its borders and allies. Again, this affects his current views on foreign policy and immigration reform.

Overall, Buldinn is a sort of renaissance man. He is politically active, encouraging diversity of thought and freedom of expression. Buldinn is also an actor and producer of adult furry content online. This unique, almost paradoxical combination makes him a lasting persona in the fandom's culture. Despite the onslaught of aggression from online trolls, Buldinn will surely be around for a while.
