Wild`Bill`TX (or Wild Bill TX) is a Greymuzzle furry who lives in east Texas, United States. His fursona is a domesticated brown bear, wearing glasses, ballcap, t-shirt, bluejeans and sneakers. He got his nickname from friends during his high school years in the late 1970's, and used it on Quantum Link, BBS Systems and later IRC in the mid 90's.

History
Wild`Bill`TX spent his childhood in Goleta (near Santa Barbara) California watching classic 60's cartoons on television, including those from Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes, MGM and Disney along with listening to lots of AM Top 40 radio as a kid. He also read Harvey and Gold Key Comics (especially loving the stories of "Duckman" Carl Barks, the creator of Uncle Scrooge) during the 60's and early 70's. He fondly remembers seeing The Jungle Book and Robin Hood in the theater during their original release, and visited Disneyland many times, before he moved with his family to Oklahoma in 1974.

He started collecting Furry comics (when they were known as "Funny Animal" comics) in the mid 1980's, but fell out of collecting them when his family moved to East Texas and found out the local comic book stores only carried superheros.

Wild`Bill`TX discovered the furry fandom in July, 2003, when he stumbled upon various anthropomorphic comics (including Newshounds, Class Menagerie, and Suburban Jungle) on Keenspot. From a link on the Class Menagerie comic, he discovered the Funday PawPet Show, becoming a fan and regularly joining the PawPet IRC chat server during shows.

In 2006, Wild`Bill`TX attended his first furry convention (Megaplex 5), and has since been to several others including Furry Fiesta, Anthrocon, Mephit Furmeet, Furry Weekend Atlanta, Megaplex, Rocket City Fur Meet and Furry Connection North . He worked in commercial radio for 18 years as a DJ in small and medium radio markets and is a avid vinyl record, CD and tape collector. WBTX loves 50's-60's Oldies, Classic Rock, Soul R&B and Power Pop music.
Wild`Bill`TX (or Wild Bill TX; born November 25th, 1961) is a Greymuzzle furry who lives in Kilgore, Texas, United States. His fursona is a domesticated brown bear, wearing glasses, a baseball cap, t-shirt, bluejeans and sneakers. He got his nickname during his high school years in the late 1970's, and used it on Quantum Link, BBS Systems and later IRC in the mid 90's.

History
Wild`Bill`TX spent his childhood in Southern California watching classic 60's cartoons on television, including those from Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes, MGM and Disney along with listening to AM Top 40 radio.

In 2006, Wild`Bill`TX attended his first furry convention (Megaplex 5), and has since been to several others including Anthrocon 2008, Mephit Furmeet X & 11, Atlanta 4 & 5, Megaplex 7 & 8, and Rocket City Fur Meet 5 & 6. He worked in commercial radio for 18 years in small and medium radio markets and is a avid vinyl record and CD collector. WBTX loves 50's-60's Oldies, Classic Rock, 60's-70's Soul-R&B and Power Pop music.

Megaplex is a regional furry convention held in Florida. The seventh Megaplex will take place in Jacksonville from March 28 to 30, 2008.

The convention began in March, 2002, as Pawpet Megaplex; the convention officially dropped the "Pawpet" from the name with Megaplex 3 in 2004, although it is still referred to by the older name by many attendees, and the official web site is still ppmp.info.

The convention's goal, as stated in its mission, is to "provide for our membership a celebration of interactive arts and performance, with a primary focus on anthropomorphics and fantasy". In this regard, much of Megaplex's programming has focused on fursuiting, puppetry, improvisation, and other types of performance. The convention had live performances from acapella groups Toxic Audio (in 2003 and 2004) and 4:2:Five (in 2006), and hosted the Potpourri of Puppets, a regional puppetry event, in 2005.

Megaplex traditionally maintains a "PG-13" limit for all events; the convention does "bend" the rating for specific events such as the Rocky Horror Picture Show. As noted by the chairman, in general, Megaplex's rating restriction is not that much different than Anthrocon's. One notable exception is that the convention requires artwork and other materials to be "PG-rated" at the very most, whereas Anthrocon allows the sale (but not the open display) of adult materials.

History
Megaplex

Pawpet Megaplex (8-10 March 2002, 126 attending) came into being as a replacement for Furry Spring Break, which was held in 2001. FSB was unable to secure hotel space for a second convention in 2002, and folded. In its stead, Pawpet Live Experiences, Inc. was formed and held the first Pawpet Megaplex at the Ramada Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

Pawpet Megaplex 2 (21-23 March 2003, 197 attending) moved to the movie-themed Sheraton Studio City Resort, closer to Universal Studios Florida. The convention had its first guest of honour, Susan Rankin. This was also the first year Toxic Audio appeared.

Megaplex 3 (19-21 March 2004, 357 attending) returned to the Sheraton Studio City, with guest of honour Trace Beaulieu, of MST3K fame (Dr. Clayton Forrester, Crow T. Robot). The convention's theme played heavily on the fact the name of the con could be abbreviated to "MP3"; this was seen in promotional materials, as well as on-site artwork and the con book.

Megaplex 4 (11-16 March 2005, 387 attending) moved into larger quarters at the Sheraton World Resort, right next door to the SeaWorld Orlando theme park. The guest of honour was professional puppeteer John Kennedy. As part of the convention, Orlando's Potpourri of Puppets was hosted on Sunday night. The convention's theme, taking into account the move and the fact Interstate 4 goes through Orlando, was a "road trip".

Megaplex 5 (17-19 March 2006, 257 attending) was held at the Sheraton World Resort. The fifth anniversary con's theme saluted the B-movies of days gone by, lending MP5 the subtitle of "...The Horror!". Unfortunately, part of the horror was the hotel, which staff and attendees alike had troubles with. Brian Reynolds attended as a guest of honour with his wife, Tracy.

Megaplex 6 (2-4 March 2007, 185 attending) was held at the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverfront. The primary reason for the move to Jacksonville was cost - hotels in Orlando and Tampa wanted two to three times what Megaplex had paid for space in the past, whereas the Wyndham's offer was more in line with past costs. The convention had a game show theme, and its guest of honour was Mike Kazaleh.

Megaplex 7 will be held 28-30 March 2008, and will return to the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverfront. Announced at Megaplex 6's closing ceremonies, the next Megaplex will have a comics theme. The convention announced (via its official LiveJournal community that Adam Wan will be the guest of honour.

Staff
Megaplex's Board of Directors is chaired by Karl F. Meyers. The rest of the Board includes:

* John "K.P." Cole - Programming Director
* Randy "Yappy" Fox - Hotel Liason, Audio/Video
* Jim "Rasvar" Mogle - Treasurer
* Jess Kiela - Art Director / Con Book

Other staff members include:

* Patrick Dowden - Security
* Genesis Whitmore - Dealer's Den
* Josh Strom - Sponsor Suite
* Terry Sender - Programming

The convention actively recruits new staffers through open face-to-face meetings and on-line chats.
Hi WBTX. Here's an editing tip you might find useful: The "Show Preview" button allows you to see what your changes look like before saving, and keeps the Recent Changes list from being clogged with a long list of tiny alterations (which makes it easier for the admins to keep a watch on things). -- Higgs Raccoon 09:45, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

History
Wild Bill TX spent his childhood in Southern California watching classic 60's cartoons on television, including those from Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes, MGM and Disney. He also read a lot of Harvey and Gold Key Comics (especially loving the stories of "Duckman" Carl Barks, the creator of Uncle Scrooge) during the 60's and early 70's. He fondly remembers seeing The Jungle Book and Robin Hood in the theater during their original release, and visited Disneyland many times.

He started collecting Furry comics (when they were known as "Funny Animal" comics) in the mid-80's, but fell out of collecting them when his family moved to East Texas and found out the local comic book stores only carried superheros.

Wild Bill TX discovered the furry fandom in July, 2003, when he stumbled upon various anthropomorphic comics (including Newshounds, Class Menagerie, and Suburban Jungle) on Keenspot. From a link on the Class Menagerie comic, he discovered the Funday PawPet Show, becoming a fan and regularly joining the PawPet IRC chat server during shows.

In 2006, Wild Bill TX attended his first furry convention (Megaplex 5), and has since been to several others including Mephit Furmeet X, Furry Weekend Atlanta 2007, Megaplex 6, and Rocket City Fur Meet 5. He has worked in commercial radio for over 17 years and is a avid vinyl record and CD collector. He loves 50's-60's Oldies, Classic Rock, 60's-70's R&B-Funk and Power Pop music.

He has worked in commercial radio for over 17 years and is a avid record and CD collector. He loves Oldies, Classic Rock, 60's-70's R&B-Funk and modern Power Pop music.
Wild Bill TX discovered the furry fandom in July, 2003, when he stumbled upon various anthropomorphic comics (including Newshounds, Class Menagerie, and Suburban Jungle) on Keenspot. From a link on the Class Menegrie comic, he discovered the Funday PawPet Show, becoming a fan and regularly joining the PawPet IRC chat server during shows.

In 2006, Wild Bill TX attended his first furry convention (Megaplex 5), and has since been to several others including Mephit Furmeet X, Furry Weekend Atlanta 2007, Megaplex 6, and Rocket City Fur Meet 5. He has worked in commercial radio for over 17 years and is a avid record and CD collector. He loves Oldies, Classic Rock, 60's-70's R&B-Funk and modern Power Pop music.
