The Vancouver Island Furs (VI Furs) is a group of furries residing on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Most live in Victoria, however there are quite a few furs living in Nanaimo and scattered throughout the island.

The group was defunct for a period of time, but a relatively new fur by the name of Torwin resurrected the group, their first meet consisted of four furs in a local house. By the next month, the numbers had doubled to 8 and at the Dec 6, 2008 meet had 10 furs present with 12 on the roster. They meet regularly at the Travelodge Nanaimo on the first Saturday of every month you can find most of them on the meets and get togethers area of furry.ca

Furries among the VI Furs include Torwin, Alan Tabby, Nightfox, Ruby, Bandit Fox,Tj Bluevulpine, Brasou, Pixel, Veekahr, Blarky, Frenchiphant, Drewdle, Runemist, and several others.

Other furries who consider themselves part of the group but do not (or no longer) live on the island include Dreamcatcher,Tamaska and RainRat.

The VI furs regularly host meets and events on the Island. Contact Torwin for info at Torwin_2120@hotmail.com, or Torwincollie@yahoo.com

Veekahr, or Vee for short, is a pansexual 21 year-old female from Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada. She was involved with the Vancouver Island Furs from 2008 until she moved to Alberta in October of 2009.

History
Shortly after discovering the fandom, Vee began dating a fur by the name of Blarky. Vee and Blarky found each other on Pounced, a popular furry personals site. They started dating on January 1st, 2009.
The two of them attended their first (local) fur con in Nanaimo, British Columbia, in April 2009. There Vee met her close friends - TJ Bluevulpine, Frenchiphant, Brasou, Pixel, Drewdle, and RuneMist, along with many other local furs.
Her attendance at local meets ended in June 2009, when Vee and Blarky moved in to their first apartment, in Campbell River, BC. The two worked full-time, and money was always tight, thus limiting both the time and money available for travel. The freedom of apartment life was short-lived. In October 2009, Vee and Blarky parted ways, and, unable to afford the apartment on her own, Vee decided to make the move to Alberta with her family.

Veekahr currently lives in Fort McMurray, Alberta, with her humanoid boyfriend.
