A '''crux''' is a species created by [[Malluch]] on [[Second Life]]. Most information regarding the species is surmised by the fans, as the creator left very little information herself.

== Biology ==

Typically, a crux, or 'cross', is considered a mutant [[hybrid]] created from several species through magical accident or scientific experimentation. They are typically [[biped]]al and sentient, have large [[ears]], unusual [[fur]] patterns, and a tendency to affix accessories to their [[tail]]s. When walking they tend to swing their bodies in an exaggerated gait, and when running they lope forwards with long strides. They have large, sharp teeth and claws, and tend to be very lean.

It is unknown what the internal structure of a crux is like, though the best possible guess is that it is closest to that of mammals, as most of the rest of their body appears to share many mammalian traits, though this could depend on what backstory is used to explain the creation of the hybrid; mechanical means, experimentation, or magic. It is entirely possible that they may have extra or differently-functioning organs or structure, and be nearly alien to the norms for most species.

The most prevailing trends for members of the crux species are body-alteration, cybernetic implants, shackles, and insanity. While the story behind the species is very much lacking, most fans of the species surmise that they are universally 'cracked up' in some way or another, and their artwork, stories, and avatars tend to represent this.

== Gender ==

Crux were depicted by the creator as having no specific gender. Whether this means crux themselves have no gender, or they were simply drawn androgynous was not specified. (Malluch's Crux vendor inside Second life will tell you "This is a genderless Avatar" if you try to obtain a female one.) Most assume this was intentionally left open for fans of the fictitious species, however many crux tend to remain genderless.

The crux who do have genitalia do not identify with a specific species buildup. Mutations alter many internal processes and it may be hard to identify those with genitalia between male and female because of the shapes and makeup of their specific organs. Such mutations make is nearly impossible to reproduce sexually, as the internal makeup may not allow for any development of a fetus/fertile egg or even the proper formation of sperm or eggs.

Some crux have both male and female reproductive organs that seem fully functional. This however, is not always the case. Remember that a crux does not conform to any one species standard in terms of appearance, sexuality, gender, and reproductive organs. Each crux is different and still, little is known about their diversity.

== Types ==
Crux come in various types distinguishable by the colouring of their fur and markings, these changed over the time between the different versions of the Crux Avatars being released in Secondlife. There is some belief amongst some members of the Crux community that the different colour types represent different attitudes or emotions of that particular Crux type, though this has never been officially confirmed by the creator of the species.

Prices did not include accomodation, allowing attendees to choose whichever hotels in the area they wanted, although a special discount rate was arranged with the Ramada Jarvis hotel for those wishing to avail themselves of the facilities.

The first official ticket was auctioned at [[RBW 2009]]'s charity auction for a final sum of £90.

Fuzzy produces the videos for free. Videos are filmed and posted about a couple times a month with other furrys. The selection method is mainly a guideline based email-in volunteering competition followed by private approval and blind-date style matching.

In addition to the videos there are also Second Life images posted below them.

I did in fact check out the DVD link from that edit and did not see any clear indication that the person portrayed was Manawolf; it's possible but beyond them having the same first name (Sarah) I couldn't find anything on the site to make that connection. Even the word 'furry' in the DVD title appears to refer to the actress having never shaved rather than as any sort of reference to the fandom.

Even if it is Manawolf I doubt this belongs on Wikifur. The DVD cover is inappropriate regardless, and the fact that someone appeared in an adult video is in my opinion controversial information that needs good references and needs a good reason to be publicized here.

My only concern is whether giving Priest22 an infinite ban is appropriate in case it turns out that really is Manawolf in the DVD. If it's not her, then yes. If it is her, we should assume good faith and treat it as a case trying to post controversial/derogatory information. And if we don't know, well... I did in fact check out the DVD link from that edit and did not see any clear indication that the person portrayed was Manawolf; it's possible but beyond them having the same first name (Sarah) I couldn't find anything on the site to make that connection. Even the word 'furry' in the DVD title appears to refer to the actress having never shaved rather than as any sort of reference to the fandom.

Even if it is Manawolf I doubt this belongs on Wikifur. The DVD cover is inappropriate regardless, and the fact that someone appeared in an adult video is in my opinion controversial information that needs good references and needs a good reason to be publicized here.

My only concern is whether giving Priest22 an infinite ban is appropriate in case it turns out that really is Manawolf in the DVD. If it's not her, then yes. If it is her, we should assume good faith and treat it as a case trying to post controversial/derogatory information. And if we don't know, well... When attending [[Anthrocon 2006]] as a volunteer, Pumathing had opted to have a blank name badge.

Jinxx has traditionally been the name used by Pumathing since he was first online. It is a variation of a contraction of his surname first given to him during primary school. This name is often used by him for gaming and as a trading name under which he provides design and photography services. Twll is a name given to him by a Welsh teacher from the age of 11 or so. The name was used affectionately as a retort to the Puma's cheekiness. Twll means 'hole', but more colloquially means 'arse-hole'.

The name Pumathing stuck and is used by preference, due to the difficulty that many non-Welsh speakers have pronouncing the double-L character in Welsh.

==Real life==
In his real life, Pumathing lives independently and works for a telecommunications company in his town. He is primarily employed as a graphic designer, but also chips in with unhelpful advice and makes the [[Wikipedia:tea|tea]].

Since primary school, he has intermittently drawn and taken photographs. He acted on stage and for radio commercials until his mid-teens, and has involved himself in a few video projects since leaving high school. After completing a media production diploma in 2000, he briefly considered graphic design for his choice of degree, but quicky fell out with the course structure and settled into architectural technology for the 2001 academic year. He finally graduated in 2005 and worked in the field until August 2007 until being offered a position doing something more enjoyable.

==Fandom life==
Pumathing has been aware of the [[furry fandom]] since he was in high school, but has had an affinity towards [[cat]]s and certainly a fascination towards [[Puma]]s since his earliest memories.

His first contact with the fandom was with [[Furcadia]], where he met a few people whom he remains good friends with to this day. Since attending university, he fell at odds with Furcadia and became somewhat estranged from the furry community for a while. In late 2004 he started to edge back into furry life with an intermittent presence on [[Anthrochat]]'s [[IRC]] network.

Although he had been away from the fandom for several years, he remained quite distinctly a fur, and in returning to it in earnest during the second half of 2005, he found himself comfortably settling back in. It was at this time, after a conversation with [[Lyctiger]], that he was branded with the pseudonym of Pumathing.

After a short trip to Canada in September of 2005, where he met up with his long-time friend [[Kittrel]] and her then fiancée, he vowed that he would attend [[Anthrocon]] "come hell or high water" the following year.

Anthrocon proved to be an important step for Pumathing, giving him more confidence in his furriness and a greater sense of belonging to the community. He had a "meagre role" with [[Neofelis Communications]] on the filming of events at the convention.

Since Anthrocon 2006, Pumathing has had a slightly more visible presence online, taking up residence on The [[Cheetah Lawn]] on [[FurryMUCK]], adding his artwork to [[Fur Affinity]], writing a small biography of himself on [[WikiFur]], and trying to gather other furry Xbox Live users' gamertags.

For Anthrocon 2007, Pumathing was officially on the con staff and worked as Stage Manager for Neofelis. Unfortunately, convention rules prevented him from having a blank badge as a staff member and spent much of his time coaching people to pronounce 'Twll' without spitting everywhere.

Twll is a staff member for [[ConFuzzled]] and is the [[Conbook]] editor. He is be producing the convention book again for [[ConFuzzled 2010]].

Regarding the banning of [[Special:Contributions/Priest22|Priest22]] and the image he had uploaded which you subsequently deleted, he is probably the IP user who attempted to update [[Manawolf]] with [http://en.wikifur.com/w/index.php?title=Manawolf&diff=297950&oldid=276688 this edit], which I reverted. I did in fact check out the DVD link from that edit and did not see any clear indication that the person portrayed was Manawolf; it's possible but beyond them having the same first name (Sarah) I couldn't find anything on the site to make that connection. Even the word 'furry' in the DVD title appears to refer to the actress having never shaved rather than as any sort of reference to the fandom.

Even if it is Manawolf I doubt this belongs on Wikifur. The DVD cover is inappropriate regardless, and the fact that someone appeared in an adult video is in my opinion controversial information that needs good references and needs a good reason to be publicized here.

My only concern is whether giving Priest22 an infinite ban is appropriate in case it turns out that really is Manawolf in the DVD. If it's not her, then yes. If it is her, we should assume good faith and treat it as a case trying to post controversial/derogatory information. And if we don't know, well...
