Regarding article Personal Exclusion (article removal) from Wikifur
* Please consult the Wikifur's page about "article exclusion" first.
* The request must be made by the article's user, with some exceptions (next of kin, lawyer/barrister, etc...).
* The exclusion will delete the ability for others to edit it any further, plus a protection layer is added by Wikifur's curators so is no longer searchable on such sites such as Google.
* NOTE: Removal of personal information is normally not the same as exclusion, and it can be done without needing curator assistance.
* The request can be made in a myriad of ways (Email, Bluesky, X's DM, Fur Affinity's DM, etc...).

If you are trying to contact me specifically about an exclusion, please send me a DM via Twitter at "Spirou on Wikifur".

Cassidy Civet
Hi there,

I'm just wondering, what exactly was wrong with the edits on the Cassidy Civet page? The page currently functions as the subject's personal blog (which is not how Wiki articles are supposed to read). I spent quite a bit of time reformatting the page to remove unnecessary fluff while rebuilding the convention attendance list, and including additional and new research. Why exactly were the changes reverted? --50.125.93.8 21:05, 26 November 2023 (EST)

:Hallo.

:"The page currently functions as the subject's personal blog", hmm, you haven't seen some of the more... larger articles on this wiki (they make this article look like a one-paragraph blurb), your POV phrasing indicates you are coming in gunning for this user in the first instance, and letting people update their own article is not (once, once, once again) against Wiki's policies (including Wikifur, so...

:Yes, there is a lot of work to be done with this article, a lot of fluff and redundancy to be taken care of, but there is some valid info there (so obliterating the whole Convention attendance section almost out without trying to salvage anything was not your best edit). Feuds are normally personal, and unless they affect the fandom as a whole, or they are very uncouth, they don't belong in a Controversy section. In your edit, you did not check grammar, double links, redundancy, fix the ext. links, or other needed really, really needed "copy editing".

:We need editors, but not the type we have to babysit after each edit (it is tiresome). Hope you understand - Spirou (talk) 21:48, 26 November 2023 (EST)
::Hi there! I’m terribly sorry about the confusion here. Responding to the comment you left on my page: I did not intend to employ any subterfuge. I took the message about copyediting to be about the way the article was written. I will admit I have never seen an article as long as Cassidy's on this website. However, are the other ones also containing a lot of superfluous details that don't add to the article? Ones I've noticed in Cassidy's are things such as talking about things she didn’t do, mentioning her visiting friends after a con, or unusual sections about how certain cons were failures for her. What my edit intended to do was capture the important details out of those roughly fifty paragraphs by including them in the fandom involvement section, preserve which cons in particular she had performed at via a brand new convention attendance list, and expand on other sections. If I was gunning for her, I would not have gone to the effort of making that brand new list with those details in it. If there’s anything you feel I should have left in my edit from the current version, that could be put in the fandom involvement section, I’d be happy to revise it and fix it; it took me quite a long time to make the edits that I did, so I wouldn't want it to all be for nothing.

::I'm also sorry I didn't fix that other stuff; I had already been working on fixing the article up for several hours and wanted to take a break. I suppose I shouldn't have removed the copywriting blurb, so my apologies.

::(Also, for clarity's sake, these edits were done anonymously to avoid possible retaliation from the subject, as they have a long history of feuding with individuals, and it is evident how important this page is to them with how much they edit it. I'm sorry for not being more forthright in my identity; I have had an account on here for many years, for the record. If you're willing to work this out more closely to fix her article up, I would be open to talking on Telegram, if you do have it.) --50.125.93.8 22:06, 26 November 2023 (EST)

PepperCoyote Covid controversy + vendoring blacklist
Hello. I don't really understand how you came to the conclusion that Pepper's Covid controversy isn't related to the furry fandom. It involved himself, a fairly high profile person within the fandom, trying to encourage and instruct other people, also in the fandom, on how to lie on their covid vaccine applications which caused them to receive backlash from, again, people in the fandom. It's a furry directly interacting with other furries and furries reacting to that furry. If this is considered to be unrelated to the fandom, than what exactly is considered relevant? There are several articles on site that come to mind which include information that could also be considered unrelated to the fandom or as personal incidents. Articles such as Simba_Lion_(United_States) mentioning a shootout with the police (how is that related to the fandom or not a personal incident?) or the other https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Simba_Lion_(United_Kingdom)'s article mentioning him being wanted by the police (again, this seems more like what would be actually described as a personal incident unrelated to the fandom).
I'm also unsure why you changed the "Restricted from vendoring and/or performing" indicator to only mention performing when Pepper himself explicitly stated that they had been blacklisted from vendoring in the dealers den at MFF. -

:Because is not: Cheating on taxes, cutting in line, getting a COVID vaccine early, etc, are personal "issues", not fandom "controversies" (had he told people NOT to get the COVID-19 vaccine, then that would be a controversy, as he would have put people in possible danger, including death).

:We cover murders, rape, stealing, and other mainstream criminal deeds, as it has affected furries in the past (and unfortunately, in the future). Getting a COVID-19 vaccine early by using subterfuges only makes him look bad, and if somebody else does it because he suggested it, well, not kosher, but still not a real controversy. You trying to shove a non-issue into an article because it is clear you have a POV issue with this person, not the mentality to have in a place where neutrality is king.

:As per "vendoring": (A) Checking social media, his musical performances were banned, not his "vendoring", and (B) "Vendoring" is more commonly used in software parlance, "Vending" is the one related to selling wares. - Spirou (talk) 00:07, 11 December 2023 (EST)

EasyTimeline pages on the site.
Hi, Spirou. I think that something is broken with EasyTimeline on the site. We use it mainly for the Convention Timeline and a couple of other smaller graphs. Right now, any edits result in a broken image icon. The currently displaying timeline is only there because the image is cached on the server side. I had originally wondered if we had hit some kind of internal size limit, but I played around with a much smaller table in my talk sandbox, and got the same behavior. Based on my edits, I can pinpoint that it broke sometime between October 29 and November 6.

Side note: I kind of worry about how much cpu and memory load it takes to generate the timeline, though I suppose once the image is cached, it is fine.

Thank you - TheRedSquirrel (talk) 15:04, 20 December 2023 (EST)

:Hallo, TheRedSquirrel. Unfortunately, I am not privy to the underpinnings of Wikifur, code-wise, curator Greenreaper would be the one (and top) person with this knowledge. ==The more damaged pages==
Hello! It seems like the pages with the nyan cat gif somehow have the html edited directly. The div element that contains the main page content has a style attribute added, and there is an 'a' and 'p' element added for the gif and text. Hope this info helps. - TEC Con Staff (talk) 02:01, 29 December 2023 (EST)
