'''Into the Furry Fandom Headfirst...'''

Found the Fandom online, was introduced to fursuits by Samwise Husky at a Lace's Birthday party. Saw the performance aspect and decided fursuiting was for him, after his many years in theater.

Went to first convention at Rainfurrest 2008 and has attended every year since.

'''VIFurs'''

Following his first convention, Torwin set about rebuilding VIFur (Vancouver Island Furs). Six Months later he had over 35 furs in attendance.

'''The Dog House'''

In March 2009 Torwin moved to Surrey, Vancouver and acquired house. The House had 6 bedrooms and was quickly filled, and coincidentally, made up entirely of Canines, Sparking the nickname "The Dog House".

Torwin started seeing Jessie around this time, they had met before at a party, but only briefly they later ran into each other at Bowling, and hit it off, and the rest is history...

'''Torwin in the Spotlight'''

Torwin worked as an Actor and Extra in the Vancouver Film Industry where he's worked with many "Big Deal" Stars like Pierce Brosnan (Bond Movies), Rampage Jackson (UFC Fighter), Uma Thurman (Kill Bill), Liam Neeson (Star Wars), Zac Efron, Patton Oswalt, Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder), Bradley Cooper (District 9) etc. Keep an eye out in recent movies like: "Percy Jackson", "The A-Team", "Suckerpunch", The Life and Death of Charlie St Cloud to list a few. As well as T.V. shows like "Caprica", "Pretty Little Liars", "Life UnExpected" "Fringe", "Psyche" and "Smallville". Torwin also took part in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Closing Ceremonies, He proudly marched on in a full RCMP Uniform with Michael Buble singing their group on.

'''The Dog House Crew'''

Torwin and Ruggs founded the Doghouse Originally. They moved in Pennie-less and broke eating KD out of $1 Dogbowls and using they're wrenches as forks for several weeks. They had an old couch, an xbox and an LCD Projector to play it on the wall.

Sairys was the first to move in, followed shortly by Jack, Orion and Lemony.

Orion moved out less than a year later to live with his mate Hazel

Ember Fox moved in...that's when things got real interesting! The parties at that point were insane, someone put their head thru a wall at the last party of that particular house!

Within a year, they had outgrown the house, and didn't like the neighborhood, since everyone was working, they could afford to upgrade. The First House was in the Whalley area of Surrey. They moved to the much nicer area of Guildford and remained there for 2 and a half years.

Ruggs got called back to New Zealand for a business opportunity he had been working on in the past and had to move suddenly. Torwin took this very hard, at this point, they may as well have been brothers.

Haloth moved in to take Ruggs space and lived there for about a year before deciding it wasnt for him.

Frio and his Mate Sikkab moved in after that and the Crew remained until The Doghouse Closed.

The landlord decided to sell, so rather than move everyone (again) Torwin opted to split The Doghouse, so he could move closer to work and focus on his own life, rather than looking after everyone else.

4 Years and 2 houses later, Torwin closed the Doghouse, and the "Crew" went their separate ways.

Torwin and Jessie.T Wolf now reside in their own place in Maple Ridge, with "Jack" one of the original members of the Doghouse.

Torwin now has his own shop, where he spends his evenings and weekends, Jessie has a large fenced backyard for the Dogs

These days he spends his time working and fixing his Porsche on the side. He also takes care of the lighting and effects for Vancoufur and Howloween

In June 2013, Jessie came back from visiting her family in Toronto, and decided she missed her old life there and wanted to be closer to family.

Torwin and Jessie Separated shortly after, but remained living together while she saved funds for the move at the end of October.

Torwin Announced the reopening of The Doghouse August 2013

Novevember 2013 Siku Wolf will be the newest addition to The Doghouse Crew

Torwin:

'''Background'''

Torwin Aka "The Kanadian Kollie" is a Bisexual male Border Collie, he lives in Surrey B.C., Canada

[[Image:173.jpg|right|220px|Torwin and Brody, Shortly before his death]]

Torwin was born Oct.14 1987, he came across "Brody" a young abandoned Border Collie, in the Prince George SPCA, Brody had been left tied to the back porch of a home in the middle of a Canadian Winter, his owners had moved away. Brody was discovered missing his right rear leg.

Torwin immediately bonded with the collie and visited it daily until he had to money to adopt him, the two of them grew up together and and became best friends in a time in Torwin's life where he needed it the most, after his mother had walked out on the family. This evolved into something he did not have a name for and only recently discovered the Furry fandom, where he feels quite at home with others like him. Brody lived with Torwin's grandfather in Nanaimo, B.C until he suddenly died of Stomache Cancer last fall.

'''Into the Furry Fandom Headfirst...'''

Torwin first found the furry subculture through Second Life, where he stumbled into "The Yiff Factory" owned and operated by Felix Oxide. This is were he met Samwise Husky who was his mate at that time, Recca Allen, Gas-Mask Dragon and many others. Sam played a pivotal role in Torwin's evolution from SL. They attended an anime convention in Vancouver, B.C. (Anime Evolution) where Sam presented him with his first collar, since then Torwin has felt uncomfortable without it, and only removes it for work. They ran into Rainrat (VaF) and were both invited to a furry birthday party (Lace Aurora's). It was there that Torwin had his first fursuit encounter. Sam got Lace to pounce Torwin and show him furry cuddle. From that moment on, Torwin had to aquire a fursuit, no matter the cost, with Rainfurrest on the horizon in less than a month, gears went into motion.

'''The Collie Suit!'''

Things looked grim when Torwin couldn't find someone to commission a head in less than a month. He had almost given up hope when Samwise suprised him with a the idea of making Torwin a head, based from a Matrices design. Plans went back into motion, the best he could hope for was a partial.

Torwin attended Rainfurrest 08 with a completed partial, the paws and tail were made by Alan Tabby and because of a fabric store mixup, the fur didn't match (Ended up getting Cow hide, rather than the black and white fur requested) but it was a collie and it meant the world to him. His first convention could not have gone better, lots of fursuiting, alcohol and parties made up for little sleep, which was acceptable. He met tons of great furs there, Like Flask Raccoon (Ezo) and Gasmask Dragon. He enjoyed it so much he was visually upset at the time of Departure and misses everyone greatly. Torwin has since commissioned Scribblefox for a Border Collie suit

Torwin attended Further Confusion 2009 in the Purpleski suit with Samwise Husky, Corran Fox, Whitepaws, Forestpaw and RainRat

'''A Phoenix Reborn from ashes...VIFur'''

Following his first convention, Torwin set about rebuilding VIFur (Vancouver Island Furs) after tracking several down, they were able to hold they're first fur meet at Nightfox's home in Nanaimo. Six Month later, The VIFurs currently meet on the first Saturday of every month at the Ramada Inn, Nanaimo, B.C. The last meet had over 35 furs in attendance.

In March 2009 Torwin moved to Surrey, Vancouver and acquired house. The House has 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 Living Rooms, A Large Yard and a Garage. It was quickly filled and coincidentally was made up entirely of Canines, Sparking the Nickname of the Surrey Fur Residence as "The Dog House". Living in Vancouver brings no end of happiness to this pup, being closer to Friends and his Mate. Resident Furs at "The Dog House" are, Ruggs, Sairys, Lemony, Orion, Jack, Jessie T. Wolf, Torwin, and Ember Fox

The two new arrivals are Torwin's new Border Collie puppy "Tobias" (Tobi) and Jess's pup "Jango" a Rottweiler. A large outdoor Kennel was added to the Doghouse as well as the Dining rooms conversion to a Dog room in order to house everyone happily.

Torwin and Jessie are currently dating and living happily together with their canine family. A new Border Collie Fursuit is in the works after purchasing a new sewing machine. They're two puppies, Tobias and Jango are growing up quickly!

Torwin immediatly bonded with the collie and visited it daily until he had to money to adopt him, the two of them grew up together and and became best friends in a time in Torwin's life where he needed it the most, after his mother had walked out on the family. This evolved into something he did not have a name for and only discovered the Furry fandom lately, where he feels quite at home with others like him. Torwin and Brody live happily together to this day.

Torwin first found the furry subculture through Second Life, where he stumbled into "The Yiff Factory" owned and operated by Felix Oxide. This is were he met Samwise Husky and many others. Sam played a pivotal role in Torwin's evolution from SL. They attended an anime convention in Vancouver, B.C. (Anime Evolution) where Sam presented him with his first collar, since then Torwin has felt uncomfortable without it, and only removes it for work. They ran into Rainrat (VaF) and were both invited to a furry birthday party (Lace Aurora). It was there that Torwin had his first fursuit encounter. Sam got Lace to pounce Torwin and show him furry cuddle. From that moment on, Torwin had to aquire a fursuit, no matter the cost, with Rainfurrest on the horizon in less than a month, gears went into motion.

Things looked grim when Torwin couldn't find someone to commission a head in less than a month. He had almost given up hope when Samwise suprised him with a the idea of making Torwin a head, based from a Matrices design. Plans went back into motion, the best he could hope for was a partial. Torwin attended Rainfurrest 08 with a completed partial, the paws and tail didn't match, but it was a collie and it meant the world to him. His first convention could not have gone better, lots of fursuiting, alcohol and parties made up for little sleep, which was acceptable. He enjoyed it so much he was visually upset at the time of Departure will miss everyone greatly.
