The Kentfurs group consists of furs that reside within the Kent county in England, however furs have been recognized as honorary Kentfurs for their regular attendance of the meets and support of the community, these include Ghost Wolfos from Chessington and Ecko Skaintail from London. Members who once lived in the Kent county and have moved away are also acknowledged as honorary Kentfurs such as Noha Kitsune

The first Kentfur Meet was a simple "coffee meet" on Saturday 18th February 2012 as a prelude to the "seasonal meet" on Saturday 3rd March 2012 arranged by Canterbury resident wolf fur Thayne Blake. Across the course of 2012 the success of the Kentfur "coffee meets" also known as "Cake in Canterbury" and the "seasonal meets" which occurred every three months at a time appropriate for the season continued to grow until they became consistent monthly meets.

The first venue used for the coffee meet was the High Street Costa in Canterbury, alternating between the Burgate Starbucks in Canterbury and this venue in future until discovering the Canterbury Christ Church University Cafe Latte. The first seasonal venue was The Old Buttermarket and afterwards it was the the Old Brewery Tavern for a consistent number of meets. On Saturday 9th February after negotiation the promise of consistent monthly trade the Kentfur Meet have been offered guaranteed access to the Cafe Latte and the Lounge bar of Canterbury Christ Church University.

The primary focus of the Kentfur Meets is to be a social event, including group activities such as card games, board games on a regular basis and other events when requested or organized such as console game evenings or table top role play.

Information about the meets and any Kentfur organized events are posted on the UKfurs forum. There is a Kent Furs group on Facebook managed by Thayne Blake, Gairne Bloodmuzzle and Clio, event pages for upcoming meets are regularly created. A Skype group exists for members to chat outside of meets, new members are always welcome as long as they will show respect to other members.

As the founder and organizer of the Kentfur Meets, Thayne Blake was given the title of "alpha", somewhat reluctant leader he continues to organize the meets and events for the sake of the Kentfurs community. Two other furs, Gairne Bloodmuzzle and Clio have been recognized by the Kentfurs community for their support and been given the title of "betas". In truth, no one fur has complete control over the Kentfurs Community, it is the community as a whole, this is the fundamental rule for the community.
