context
cleanup
wikify
:<i>Main article at Therianthropy.</i>

Therians are people who believe that they are, in whole or in part, a non-human animal. That is to say that part of their core being is a non-human animal, be it spiritually, mentally, et cetera. Unlike furry lifestylers, therians do not necessarily try to outwardly project their animalistic nature, nor do they choose their animal side. They consider themselves to be an animal within, and do not generally give it a name, or use it as a game persona.

Therians do not agree on the cause of therianthropy--some believe they are animals reincarnated as humans, while others believe their soul itself is a hybrid--some feel instead that their therianthropy is completely psychological, and others feel it is metaphysical, but not of the soul. It has been said that if you ask 4 therians what therianthropy is, you will get 5 different answers. The one thing that remains constant is that all therians feel there is part of themselves that is non-human.

Therians may also be called shifters, though this can be a contentious term as a growing number feel they do not actually change from one state to another, but maintain an equilibium between human and animal nature at all times. Therians who do not shift are referred to as contherianthropes.

Terms such as 'lycan', 'garou', or 'lupine' are scorned in most parts of the therian community, because these terms derive from movies or games. 'Were', 'werewolf', 'were-creature', 'were-animal', or 'animal-kin' are reasonably well accepted, but 'therian' is the preferred term, at present. The term 'therian' is simply a short version of 'therianthrope', which means 'animal-man'.

Shifts
There are three categorized types of shifts acknowledged by the therian community:
* Mental (M-Shift) - A change in psychological state, where a person thinks and behaves more like their theriotype animal.
* Spiritual (S-Shift) - A change in spiritual state, often broken down by type (astral shifting, auric shifting, etc). The spiritual self, astral body, or aura change to resemble the theriotype animal.
* Physical (P-Shift) - A change in physical state, physically changing to become more like, or entirely like, their theriotype animal. Controversial, and largely thought to be impossible by the therian community.

Other types of shifts have been categorized from these terms and can be found in the links as listed below.

Shifting, in general, means times when animalistic aspects become, dominant over human aspects of the person's personality or spiritual form. This may include, but not be limited to, feelings of "phantom limbs" or fur, keener senses, desires to bite or hunt, feelings of instincts not usual to humans, etc. This is distinct from invocation of a totem entity, or from any state induced by drugs or guided trances, as it is natural to the individual in question and can generally be easily called upon through simple concentration or will. Occasionally it is involuntary, but generally not to extremes (making it distinct, in the case of m-shifting, from psychological lycanthropy). M-shifting may be minor (animalistic aspects come to the forefront, but only in small ways, and the human persona remains dominant) or major (the therian can no longer speak, may have trouble walking upright, and can no longer behave in a human fashion).

P-shifting
P-shifting is the most controversial. As a general rule, it's more used as a term to discuss fictional transformations rather than literal ones; people claiming to p-shift in any way are usually met with aggressive skepticism and are often accused of being roleplayers. No concrete evidence has been offered of physical shapeshifting.

Some Therian groups view the "physical shift" as NOT being an actual change into an animal, but an intense physiological change, which may include heightened senses, increased strength, etc.

Therian and furry lifestylers
Therians differ from the furry lifestyle in that they do not feel a need to costume themselves or pretend to be their animal--they feel they already are their animal, inside, and must cope with this rather than promoting it to the world. Furry lifestylers wish to become and behave like their animal, while therians believe they already are their animal. This is not to say someone cannot be both! There are a number of therians in the furry community (and of course, vice versa). Being therian is not a lifestyle choice, but being furry is--a therian can make that choice as well.

Therians also do not, in any way, choose their animal side. Most believe they are born with it. It may take a lot of introspection and soul-searching for some therians to come to terms with their animal nature. The therian nature is not based on stereotypes (such as a wolf howling at the moon, or a lion's courage), but instead reflects the living animal's behavior more closely.

Therian nature is distinct from aspects of shamanism or working with totem spirits. Therians do not acquire their animal traits from outside of themselves, via invocation of a spirit.

Usually, therians have one animal aspect, or theriotype (formerly referred to as the phenotype), but some have two or more. Generally, these people are referred to as Polyweres [alternate term: Pan-Therian], and can be a source of controversy, as single-aspect therians often cannot relate to how a multiple-animal therian could exist, especially in the context of having an animal soul. Many are therian-otherkin mixes, such as wolf/dragons or cat/vampires. In cases where a therian has two theriotypes (such as wolf and cougar) they do not manifest a hybrid or mixture of traits, but may shift to one or the other at various times--not simultaneously. A therian who manifests a hybrid theriotype (such as a wolf-cat hybrid, for example) is often considered to be more properly otherkin, rather than specifically therian.

Therians and Otherkin
This has been a point of contention over the years, but most who accept the definition of otherkin as 'those who feel they are, in whole or in part, other than human' also accept that therians are a type of otherkin. The only defining difference between the two is that therians feel their otherside (theriotype) is a known animal, while otherkin feel their otherside is a fantasy or mythical creature. The line is blurred in cases where a person's otherside is a cryptid (ex: yeti, chupacabra, etc.), a person's otherside is an unnatural hybrid (ex: wolf-cat cross), a normal animal with abnormal traits (ex: a bright blue cougar), or an extinct animal (ex: velociraptor). Many otherkin experience spiritual shifting, and some experience mental-shifting. Some therians do not shift (contherianthropy). This makes the line between the two communities quite indistinct, even though they 'evolved' seperately.

The Flea Collar Comedy Tour was the name used for a brief series of multiple-performer stand-up comedy shows. The name is a parody of the mainstream "Blue Collar Comedy Tour," and is a misnomer, since it was only planned to be performed at one convention. To date, only two shows have been performed under this moniker, at Mephit FurMeet 2006 and 2007.

Pre-2004
* November 1996: FurNation website established by Nexxus and Rackett. * 25 June 2002: Nexxus states he is transferring complete ownership of the FurNation website to Rackett.

2004
Sometime in 2004, Nexxus established FurPlanet, which served as the official FurNation Multimedia online store for the next four years.

On 28 December 2004, Nexxus announced his intent to convert FurNation to AnthroNation, with the addition of Fantasy and Sci-fi websites. He also announced the FurNation toolbar, which was never released.

2005
In 2005, the Luxor sim was built in the recently-founded virtual world Second Life; it eventually became the central area of Worlds.

2007
Recent Changes on Furnation
In mid September 2007, Nexxus and Furnation's administrators made some major updates to the website.
These changes were mainly to the gallery system and to the instant messaging shoutbox that is featured at the top of each page on the website. The changes to the gallery system apparently made it very hard for the artists to actually upload their artwork. According to some users, they were also confused at the way the website stored their images, making them harder to view than before. Over time, however, most users have gotten used to the new gallery system.

Criticisms
Around June 2007, Nexxus added a shoutbox to the site, which can be seen as the sole reason many non-furries joined the site. The influx of non-furries, and the departure of many of the more respected members of the site around this time, was seen by a few members of FurNation as the reason that the general quality of posts, art and otherwise, on the site, has been going "downhill" since that period, an assertion disputed by the FurNation administrators.

2008
Hacking
Around March 2008, the website was hacked and all user websites, most of which pre-dated the current incarnation which includes the gallery system and shoutbox, were lost. Because those sites were not backed up on the server, all accounts and information on those sites were lost.

In a post appearing on the front page on March 28, 2008, zerodog posted a message in which he stated "FurNation is not responsible for the maintaining or backup of any data stored on personal websites or any other hosted sites. However FurNation owned sites such as FurNation Forums and FurPlanet are backed up regularly as are their respective databases. It is ultimately the End users responsibility to keep up with there data, not ours. If data is lost we will try to recover it using recovery tools but there is NO assurances that we can."

First announcement of closure
On September 7, 2008, Nexxus sent the following email to FurNation users:

{{q|FurNation started in November of 1996 as a simple web hosting site. Since then it has grown to be a center peice of the furry fandom for chatting and finding new friends.

Unfortunatly, I have paid out of pocket for the service since its inception. Donations have helped, along with the income that FurPlanet generated to support the service. Since I have sold FurPlanet to Argyll Productions the server fees are once again running me into a lot of debt.

We were getting help on the server fees, but the debt I have to pay back is getting way out of control. I would like to keep the server running with donations alone, but last month we managed only 135 dollars toward the total monthly fees of 400 dollars. I do appreciate those who donated, and I put the money towards the fees.

Unfortunatly, if the present trend continues, FurNation will have to close its doors as of October 1st, 2008. I do not wish to do this, but the rising debt I am accumulating will force this issue upon me.

If you would like to keep FurNation online, please consider a donation for the service. Once again, if we have to close its been a hell of a 12 year run and I have had a great time providing this service to the community.

To donate, you can use the quick button link on the main FurNation webpage or visit the following URL:

(the URL is a PayPal link)

Sincerely,

2009
Closure and re-opening
On May 9, 2009, Nexxus announced in an email to users and on FurNation's front page that FurNation would be closing on May 16, 2009:

Later, however, Nexxus revised the date of closure to May 23 at midnight. By May 21, the donation indicator had only reached to 35% of the projected necessary expenses for the continued upkeep of the website.

Beginning the morning of May 23, the front page of the site featured only this simple message:

The site was then re-opened on May 25, with a slightly increased reserve of funds for the server upkeep. This was the second time that the FurNation website had temporarily suspended operations in its 13-year history.

Transfer to community ownership
On May 26, 2009, "The FurNation Support Team" sent an email to FurNation users announcing that the service would continue to operate and would be run by a group:

A further email was sent the same day:

These messages were also posted on the site.

On October 2, 2009 an announcement was made, entitled "No Funds to pay Server Fees":

{{q|Well, the economy seems to have finally gotten around to us, and the donation drive for the upgrades and server fees has met EPIC FAIL. We have approx 4 more days of service until they pull the plug at our ISP.

I blame this economy more than anything right now, as most of my friends are out of work right now.

I will shift the site over to a default OUT OF SERVICE screen when we go offline. The new community owned FN worked very well, but unfortunatly there just is not enough interest to keep it community owned.
December closure
On 8 December 2009, Nexxus announced on the site front page and forums that the FurNation PayPal account had been suspended for terms of use violations, and that the site's ISP had also received a complaint. The announcement blamed Fur Affinity staff for the suspension, criticizing The Dragoneer's management of his own site (which was down at the time), and set a closure date of 1 January 2010.

Discussion ensued, one topic of which was the lack of proof for these assertions. The Dragoneer strongly denied the claims on his Twitter account, stating that Fur Affinity had lost its own PayPal account access earlier that year, without blaming FurNation.

Later that day, the FurNation page was replaced with the text: "FurNation is gone. So long, and thanks for all the <s>carrots</s> cocks," as well as "lol bitches" in black-on-black text beneath it. Its Twitter account held the message "FurNation is offline, this time for good. So long and thanks for all the fish."

On 10 December 2009, FurNation's URL address resolved to http://www.furisdead.com/, a site run by PETA. By 12 December it was resolving to a mail portal bearing the FurNation logo.

December reopening
Reyedog took over Furnation around December 23, 2009, with websites due to return on January 1st, 2010. The website is currently hosted on the social network Ning.com (http://furnation.ning.com/). However, in Ning.com's terms of service, adult content (something Furnation has long been known for) is banned.
The Orlando Furry Archives (also known as Orlando F.A.N or the F.A.N. It also provided a mirror of Mia's Index of Anthro Stories.

History
This archive started in 1996 as a programing project by Simtra to place Harik's art collection on the web. Harik took over as webmaster after Simtra stopped being an admin in 1999 because his job was taking up too much time.

Some artists have left their images up there in a forgotten state, so it provides a glimpse into the early works of now-famous or now-forgotten furry artists. The recent uploads page is frequented mainly by art from Huskie, XianJaguar, Tremaine and Megan Giles.

The original name of the archive was furry.ao.net which led to the name F.A.N. Archive. This was changed to the current name to distance itself from the ISP where it was hosted.
Argon Hamilton, real name Andy Baker (born William Andrew Baker October 27, 1953 - December 22 2009) was a male centaur on both SpinDizzy MUCK and FurryMUCK. He described himself as a "Southern Gentleman, hailing from the SE corner of the United States."

Character Description
Argon was described as a large, white clydesdale-like centaur with golden hair (often in a ponytail), mane, tail and feathering. He stands at 8'6" tall, prefering human measurement over that of what is used for horses. When confronted with his equine anatomy, he proudly espoused his trademark speech of how he was 'horse-like but not like a horse'.

SpinDizzy MUCK
Argon was, until the time of his passing, the chief editor of SpinDizzy MUCK's newspaper, @Action News and was the significant other of Mavra.

When previewing, the graph doesn't seem to display unless I also change the scale to something silly (over 65000 or so). There's no easytimeline error message, it just doesn't display anything at all.

I'm not sure whether this is an easytimeline issue, something funny I'm doing, or just a preview idiosyncrasy. In any case, it makes editing difficult. --Riismo 20:07, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

:This is unfortunately a problem with EasyTimeline on Wikia. I have notified the techs about it, a bug report has been filed, however it is relatively low-priority since few people actually use EasyTimeline. The key is to keep pressing preview until it actually works. It will do eventually. At that point, you can save and it should remain. --GreenReaper(talk) 20:36, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

StarrBucks was a coffee house on Castro just north of The Lining in Tapestries; both properties are owned by the same person, Banner. Originally Starrbucks was an attempt at a place for artists and writers to converse and was proposed (with the permission of the wizards) as a 'sex free' zone. This later experiment was dropped as it was deemed useless by both the owner and the wizards, and contrary to the best nature of the MUCK.

History
StarrBucks was created December 29th 1997, to serve two purposes, the first as listed above was to be a coffee house for artists and writers to converse. The second was to provide housing for those that needed it. Above StarrBucks are several floors of rooms that can be let to those in need (StarrBucks is presently at capacity - sorry).

StarrBucks was deleted when The Lining was deleted on April 15th 2007 as WhiteFire @purged Banner and deleted everything Banner had ever created on the Muck. Banner has apologized to those he could for the loss of their rooms, he did not expect such extreme measures.

Layout
The first floor contained the Coffee House, and a few rooms in a hallway off the back. There were several floors above that, as well as a Basement. On the roof was both a small landing for those who come in from the sky, as well as a hangar for JediSkunk's X-Wing fighter. The top floor penthouse of StarrBucks was also occupied by JediSkunk.

<div style="float:right">__TOC__</div>
The Lining was a bar in Tapestries MUCK. It was originally mostly focused on BDSM, this being the initial focus of the MUCK. The oldest parts of the bar were based on a bar of the same name in Floral Park, New York that has since been replaced by a church.
cleanup
Overview
The Lining was constructed October 15th, 1996 and originally contained only the two bars and a bathroom. Over the years it has expanded with a hottub section, pool, a rooftop bar, and several other attractions. The bar is Adult themed, like the MUCK, and the owner/builder takes great pains to see that things run well, having hired a manager and several bouncers to deal with things when he can not be present.

The Lining contains many firsts for Tapestries, several of which have been copied repeatedly (like the non-consent room), which the owner finds rather flattering.

History
Back in 1996 most furs on Tapestries tended to congregate in the plaza, and there really were few places, if any, that furs tended to go to and hang out. The plaza at the time tended to be overly crowded and was drawing a fair amount of twinks and obnoxious bashers of many people's personal preferences.

A friend asked if Banner would build a place for people to hang out, where those who were causing problems could easily be ejected without having to bother the wizards, and which would be harder to find not being at the main portal. The Lining officially opened its doors to the public on 15 October 1996, and has maintained a surprisingly high level of success ever since.

Clientele
The Lining is a Bi/Straight/Gay bar and while the clientele tends more towards gay males it is friendly to all sexual preferences. The owner and the hired staff will not tolerate anyone who discriminates based on this.

Atmosphere
The Lining was a BDSM bar, inline with the original theme of the MUCK. It still sticks to this theme, though the main bar is somewhat mellower than it was when it was first opened. In this light The Lining featured the first 'Non-Consent' room ever allowed on Tapestries, the construction of which required a great deal of negotiation between the owner/founder of the bar and WhiteWizard, in order to be sure that no rules were broken. It has become such a success that many other establishments have copied this feature.

Staff
The Lining originally had no staff beyond the owner/creator (Banner) for about the first six years of operation. This led to a large amount of work for the owner as there was a lot of policy that needed to be enforced. This was made easier by the help of a few friends, and several (at the time) unique features of the bar.

The front and rear bars, as well as a few other bar locations could be monitored by the owner and a select handful of people if there are complaints about a certain fur's behavior, or should other issues arise. Also the front Bartender, as well as the two Bouncers in the rear bar (the large Black Lion and the large Black Wolf), can be played remotely as well. This combined with the sweep and banish commands allowed the owner to police the bar rules.

Bouncers and Manager
As time progressed however, in order to maintain the bar's atmosphere and the owner's sanity, a recruitment drive for Bouncers took place. This was fairly successful and the bar currently employs a staff of part time bouncers who assist. Also the original group of friends have maintained their privileges, though they are not on the official bouncer list.

The Manager (Whoas) of the bar was hired when the owner himself could not devote the necessary time to running the bar, and that has worked out so well that he has been kept on.

Philosophy
The Bar was popular for several reasons. The theme and the people who hang out there were important, as was the enforcement of the rules and the owner's personal commitment to an even and fair application of the rules to everyone.

This at times had been extremely hard, and very time consuming. Over the years there had been repeated attempts by different cliques to take over the bar and run others out. The amount of grief at times has been surprising for a game, and the reactions of furs when they find that in The Lining, you are actually held <I>accountable</I> for your actions (just like in an RL bar), has been educational.

The Bar's layout, the descriptions, the overall 'Karma', had been carefully designed even if it does not appear to be obvious. Some things have been added due to the owner's sense of humor (such as the April Fool's day changes). Other things have been added to remember events that took place, or people who were once there: Sunhawk's perch, the waterline from when Kati flooded the bar, the Bar Wolf (Wolph).

Layout
The original layout of the bar at the time of opening was as follows:

Entrance
The area of arrival for the Tport pad. It also contained the Bar's bulletin board. From here you could either go into the Bar, or into the Alleyway. As described, the building was a very plain concrete block building with a heavy metal fire door as the entrance.

Front Bar
The front bar was more of a 'nice' place, almost like an 'old man's bar' of the type found in the northeast. Plush overstuffed seats in booths with Formica tables. Food and drink were available here.

Back Bar
The back bar was painted all in black, with no lighting. It had an ashwood perch suspended from the ceiling. The music was often loud and constant. It was staffed by two naked vixen bartenders, and cougar waiters wearing heavy bondage gear. The room was patrolled by two bouncers: a wolf and a lion.

Hallway
Just a hallway, though some folks do hang out in it. It's main purpose it to join the bar to the bathroom and the Gate.

Bathroom
The Lining's bathroom was Tapestries' first non-consentual play space. This room was inspired by several events, and one person. It was described in the signs as a room for rape and heavy scenes, where in character safewords were disregarded.

This room was based almost exactly on the real life Lining - the RL one didn't have the pipes, and was a bit smaller, otherwise the stains, etc, were all there.

Alley
Just a place to play a little basketball, and hold the dumpster. The backdoor to the bar is here, as well as the entrance to the new underage club next door.

Gate
For many years, the gate was a locked barrier that you either had to find a way around, (there was a hidden one), get the combination from someone who knew it, or be on the lock list so you could pass through. The basement areas were originally a series of private play spaces for people who needed one, but in time the lock was taken off and the space was opened to the general bar public.

Landing
Again, just a place to pause. The entrance to the Office was here, as were the Hot Tubs, and the stairs continue down to the Basement.

Office
This was Banner's office. It also contained links to his and his mate's rooms, as well as functional things for the bar's operation. Whoas, the manager could often lounging about here as well.

Basement
It's pretty far down below the bar, so any noises here don't penetrate to the outside world, and vice versa.

North Dungeon
Off of the Basement, a standard rock hewn room with chains for restraining those in need of punishment.

East Dungeon
Off of the Basement, a sort of 'examination' room, with white washed walls, and examination table, and other assorted instruments of 'examination'.

Macro Room
This was a large space for those into macrophilia and vorarephilia. It was done up to appear as if you're outside in a large open field, unless you're near the door or one of the walls.

Additions
The following rooms have been added over time, mainly due to requests from the patrons.

Leather Bar
This room was added to recapture more of the original BDSM play that went on in the bar in its early years. This was an IC only area.

Chill-Out Room
Also an IC only area, but as the name implies, for 'Chilling out'.

Boxing Room
A large Boxing Ring is in this room, and there was an attached locker room as well as a shower area off of that.

Hot Tub and Pool Area
This was a large area featuring a large public Hot Tub and Pool, modeled after those found in the Nexus on FurryMuck. There were also three private Hot Tub rooms with lockable doors for those wishing privacy.

Rooftop Bar
More of a relaxed area, for general chat and just hanging out. The BDSM theme of the bar was almost invisible here, and the open air bar had a nice view of the weather.

Viewing Area
This was a part of the rooftop bar, and allowed you to interact with the furs in the cage, without actually going into the cage.

Cage
It's a Cage. Careful going in, sometimes the door locks and you can't get out.

Club Syzygy
Club Syzygy was an underage club built for ageplayers on the Muck, at the request of several Tapestries players. It was built next door to the bar, on bar property, which is why it is mentioned here under additions.

Rules
The rules for The Lining are presented here for reference. Putting a lock on the entries to the bar was not something the owner wanted to do, however he values fairness above all and without forcing people to read them, he was finding it hard to punish violators, of which there were quite a few at the time the locks were implemented.

The following rules are current, as of 07/24/06:

Welcome to The Lining. This is a Gay/Bi/Straight BDSM Bar. It's the oldest bar on Tapestries, but first the RULES.
# If it is discovered that you did not read all of the rules, you will be banned. Permanantly. No excuses.
# Do not debate rules with the owner (Banner) or the Bouncers. You may bring up issues or request clarification via email. But no debates.
# If someone is scening, and you break it up, you are in the wrong. PERIOD.
# The Front bar is for socializing. Sex and scening IS ALLOWED however in ALL parts of the bar.
# The Back Bar is PRIMARILY for BDSM play and scening. The goal is not to have it overrun with OOC debates and arguments. So please try to respect those who are IC.

The owner of The Lining, Banner, had announced publicly on his website on April 14, 2007 that he would be closing The Lining at the end of the month due to, "Whitefire has decided that I am a poor manager of this location, regardless of the fact of its being the number one or two spot every day since it opened back in October of 1996." This letter also cites what Banner feels to be abuse by the Tapestries wizard staff.

Rather than post this information to the Tapestries MUCK forums, Banner instead posted this to his private website, also stating that he would not follow through with closing the area if he received an apology from Whitefire.

Upon seeing this, WhiteWizard deleted the entire area on April 16, 2007, citing not wanting to put the MUCK through a month of waiting to see if Banner would follow through on removing the area or not.

# The Rear Bar is consentual on the whisper and OOC basis, that means that yes, someone can start what 'appears' to be a non-consensual scene with you, if you don't like it you can safeword IC'ly and they must stop. Or tell them in whispers IC or OOCLY to stop, and they MUST stop.
# No BLOOD or violent stuff in the Front, Rear or Rooftop bars. No fighting no nasty physical stuff, no strangulation, no killing, no destruction of bar property.
# NO ANGST! This isn't a pity party, it's a BDSM bar!
The Manager (Whoas) of the bar was hired when the owner himself could not devote the necessary time to running the bar, and that has worked out so well that he has been kept on.

Philosophy
The Bar was popular for several reasons. The theme and the people who hang out there were of course very important. Also important as well is the enforcement of the rules and the owner's personal commitment to an even and fair application of the rules to everyone. He plays no favorites and goes out of his way to treat all patrons the same, even if he has a personal dislike of some of those people.

Some things have been added due to the owner's sense of humor (such as the April Fool's day changes). other things have been added to remember events that took place, or people who were once there: Sunhawk's perch, the waterline from when Kati flooded the bar. And then there is the Bar Wolf (Wolph) and the few odd secrets not mentioned here that you'll just have to find out for yourself.

Layout
The original layout of the bar at the time of opening was as follows:

Entrance
The is the area of arrival for the Tport pad, and also contains the Bar's bulletin board. From here you can either go into the Bar, or the Alleyway. You can see here that the building is a very plain and austere concrete block with a heavy metal fire door as the entrance.

Front Bar
The front bar is more of a 'nice' place, almost like an 'old man's bar' of the type found in the northeast. Plush overstuff seats in booths with flormica tables. Food and drink are available here. This room is based exactly on the same room in the RL Lining.

Back Bar
The back bar is painted all in black, has some junk suspended from the ceilings, loud music, cougar waiters in heavy bondage, and naked vixen bartenders in slave collars. The music is constant, and sometimes loud, it's dark, and two very large bouncers patrol the bar. (Yes the bouncers are modeled after two friends). This room is based almost exactly on the RL lining.

Hallway
Just a hallway, though some folks do hang out in it. It's main purpose it to join the bar to the bathroom and the Gate.

Bathroom
Tapestries' first non-consentual play space, one of several inovations in The Lining that has been copied repeated throughout the MUCK. This room was inspired by several events, and one person (names are withheld to protect the guilty). In the Bathroom, remember to read the Sign if you haven't been there before or recently.

This room is based almost exactly on the real life Lining - the RL one didn't have the pipes, and was a bit smaller, otherwise the stains, etc, were all there.

Alley
Just a place to play a little basketball, and hold the dumpster. The backdoor to the bar is here, as well as the entrance to the new underage club next door.

Gate
The gate isn't a room, but for a good many years was a locked barrier that you either had to find a way around, (there was a hidden one), get the combo from someone who knew it, or be on the lock list so you could pass through. The basement areas were originally a series of private play spaces for people who needed one, but in time the lock was taken off and the space was opened to the general bar public.

Landing
Again, just a place to pause. The entrance to the Office is here, as well as the Hot Tubs, and the stairs continue down to the Basement.

Office
My Office. Also my rooms and my Mate's rooms are linked off of here, along with some bar functional stuff. The Manager is often seem lounging about here as well.

Macro Room
Off of the Basement, this room is Huge!, and is magically done up to appear as if you're outside in a large open field, unless you're near the door or one of the walls.
Macro and Vore play tend to take place in this area.

Additions
The following rooms have been added over time, mainly due to requests from the patrons.

Leather Bar
This room was added to recapture more of the original BDSM play that went on in the bar in its early years. This is an IC only area.

Chill-Out Room
Also an IC only area, but as the name implies, for 'Chilling out'.

Boxing Room
A large Boxing Ring is in this room, and there is an attached locker room as well as a shower area off of that.

Hot Tub and Pool Area
This is a large area featuring a large public Hot Tub and Pool, modeled after those found in the Nexus on FurryMuck. There are also three private Hot Tub rooms with lockable doors for those wishing privacy.

Rooftop Bar
More of a relaxed area, for general chat and just hanging out. The BDSM theme of the bar is almost invisible here, and the open air bar has a nice view of the weather.

Viewing Area
This is off of the rooftop bar, and allows you to interact with the furs in the cage, without actually going into the cage.

# Good scenes always -appear- non-consensual to those who are watching, that is what scening is about and what makes a good one.
# The Bathroom is a 'non-consensual' space. This means that safewords are IGNORED. You go in there, you get what you get. OOC Safewords STILL APPLY however. But don't go in there if you are not into that kind of thing. Furthermore read the sign in the Bathroom for more details.
# If a room has a sign in it, Read it! There may be special rules for that room. IGNORANCE of the rules is NOT an excuse.
# Punishment for most errors will be 1 week banishment. Repeated infractions will lead to a permanent ban. Severe infractions may lead directly to a permanent ban.
# SAFEWORDS MUST BE HONORED. If not I will talk to the wizards about banning you from the ENTIRE Muck! If you don't know what a safeword is, please find out before entering the bar.
# No BLOOD or violent stuff in the Front, Rear or Rooftop bars. No fighting no nasty physical stuff, no strangulation, no killing, no destruction of bar property.
# NO ANGST! This isn't a pity party, it's a BDSM bar!
# If you agree to follow the rules you need to set yourself IMADICK?:NO in the format of @set me=<property>:no Some places will be locked to you if this property is not set! NEVER TELL ME YOU DID NOT READ THE RULES AS AN EXCUSE for misbehaving!
# No one under the age of 18 in Real Life is allowed in the Bar! Ever!
# Age Play is allowed in Club Syzygy only! Not in the Bar or Bar environs.
# The Leather Bar area is IC only! No OOC there please! People engaging in ANY ooc behavior will be swept, possibly without warning! Do not use the OOC speak or pose command there either.
# Power Idling will not be tolerated and is a bannable offense! (Power idling is using a trigger to make it look like you are not idling when in fact you are). Ignoring questions from the bouncers is considered proof of Power Idling.

Sometimes I do monitor the bars, there is also a bouncing staff (type 'Bouncers' to get a list). There are also 'puppet' bouncers that can be played remotely.

Remember: NO prudes! If you walk in and don't like what you see, walk out, they were here first! I reserve the right, ALL of them. Play nice or I -WILL- ban your ass. Your mileage may vary. Leave your ANGST at home. And in the Bathroom, ENTER at your OWN risk! (please remove any dead bodies)
-Banner Owner and Proprietor

The Lock prop is in the rules, PLEASE read them. If you can't figure it out
but HAVE read the rules, ask for help. Thank you.

(The Lining, its layout, descriptions, and all of its contents are copyright
the sole consent of Banner, are forbidden).

Deletion From Tapestries
