{{rename|Fang Events Inc.}}
Fang is Wisconsin's [[Fetish|kink-friendly]] furry nightclub event where you can embrace your wild side. It offers an [[LGBTQ+]] friendly space to dance, drink, and meet other like-minded individuals in a place that encourages self-expression. The event occurs 4 times a year, typically with 3 months between each event.
Attendance reaches 450-550 per event, making it one of the largest furry nightclub events in the world. __NOEDITSECTION__

== Overview and history ==
=== Humble beginnings ===
Fang began as a small bar crawl meet in downtown Madison, WI. The group bar hopped to various locations, but as the group grew, founders [[BarleyCat]], [[MojitotheLion]], [[AstrotheWolf]], [[RebelDog]], and more decided to move the event to a single location. In September 2022, they landed at the local gay bar, [https://www.fivenightclubmadison.com/ FIVE], who was happy to allow the group to host their event there. It was briefly called Prowl, before being renamed to Fang, after founders learned out about the other nightclub event called by the same name! While at FIVE, the event occurred every other month.
=== Growing team and location change ===
New members to the team were added as time went on. As their time at FIVE nightclub came to a conclusion, the team consisted of BarleyCat, MojitotheLion, AstrotheWolf, RebelDog, [[KojiCoyote]], [[Sursiq]], and [[Snow/Teddy|Snow]]. Unfortunately, due to moving to California, MojitotheLion left the team shortly before the transition to the next venue. Over time, the event continued to flourish and after a year at FIVE, the group decided to change locations to allow for a more controlled environment and larger attendance! While FIVE was a great starting point, Fang moved on to the [https://www.cruciblemadison.com/ Crucible], a nightclub event space with a bar area and large backstage portion perfect to provide attendees with a [[fursuit]] changing area.
=== Further growth and pursuing non-profit status ===
The event's continued growth and the team's desire to give back to the community lead to various changes behind the scenes. As of June 2025, Fang Events is now a non-profit organization, with a dedicated board consisting of many members. Sadly, founder BarleyCat has also begun the transition off of the team to continue their journey out in Oregon. The remaining Fang staff know Barley will make a huge and lasting impact on the community there, and look forward to their visits back. The rest of the board as well as the dedicated staff that has been brought on over the last year and a half continue to navigate uncertain political climates while attempting to provide an escape for the community for at least one night every 3 months. Fang Events continues to work closely with Crucible to provide a safe and fun environment, avoiding unnecessary safety risks while maintaining a close relationship with one another and the community.
The current board consists of AstrotheWolf, Sursiq, [[Cyn]], RebelDog, Snow, [[Syne]], and [[Statiik]].

Sursiq: Updated/added all posters!

{{rename|Fang Events Inc.}}

== Overview and history ==
=== Humble beginnings ===

Sursiq: Added character to list and a little extra about smilodons in the fandom

[[File:Smilodon fatalis.jpg|right|thumb|225px|Smilodon fatalis]]
[[File:Smilodon fatalis skull.jpg||right|thumb|225px|Smilodon skull with large, upper canines]]
[[File:DiegoIA.jpeg|right|thumb|225px|Diego (''Ice Age'').]]
A '''smilodon''', also known as a '''saber-toothed cat''' or '''saber-toothed tiger''', is an extinct [[W:genus|genus]] of [[feline]]s of the subfamily [[W:Machairodontinae|Machairodontinae]] whose most notable feature is their exceptionally long upper [[canines]].

==Overview==

Smilodons are believed to have been native to the Americas until as recently as the end of the last ice age, or about 10,000 years ago. There were multiple species of smilodons, the largest of which were as large, or larger, than present-time [[tiger]]s.<ref>[https://www.deviantart.com/randomdinos/art/Smilodon-populator-skeletal-reconstruction-910991830 ''Smilodon populator skeletal reconstruction''] post by [[Henrique Paes]] on [[DeviantArt]]. * [[Diego (character)|Diego]] ([[20th Century Fox]]'s ''[[Ice Age]]'')
* [[Shira (character|Shira]] ([[20th Century Fox]]'s ''[[Ice Age]]'')
* [[Slashfang]] (''[[Primal Rage]]'')
* [[W:Zabu|Zabu]] ([[Marvel]])

==Smilodon and furry==

Smilodons are the most common [[species]] of all extinct felines used in [[furry fandom]]'s lore and [[art]], due in part solely to the above-mentioned, trademarked large upper canines.
There are various known smilodon fursuiters in the fandom, including [[Gale Frostbane]] and [[Ravertooth]]. Not all characters with large upper canines consider themselves "smilodons," many utilize the label [[sabertooth]] instead.
=== Hybrids ===
One use of the species is in [[hybrid]] characters, as some furries may solely want the large canines on their characters.

{{Las Vegas Fur Con}}
'''Las Vegas Fur Con''' ('''LVFC''') is an annual American [[furry convention]].

== Overview ==

LVFC is run by '''Southern Nevada Anthropomorphic Events''' a non-profit organization incorporated in June 2022.

== History ==

Las Vegas Fur Con grew out of the [[Rebel Anthropomorphic Works and Recreation]] ('''RAWR''') [[furry club]] on the [[University of Nevada]], Las Vegas ('''UNLV''') campus. Chaired by [[Addy Acro-Santos]] for 2023, the [[convention]] gradually recruited more [[staff]] from Las Vegas and the broader [[furry community]].

The first iteration occurred on April 14-16, 2023, at the [https://www.alexispark.com Alexis Park Hotel].

The 2023 event was intended to be [[all-ages]] event, but venue considerations made the convention turn [[18+]] for year one. As a result, LVFC had to struggle with the idea that it was the second year of [[Sin City Murr Con]], and with the idea being 18+ would mean the con was meant to be overly [[sex]]ual.

One of 2023's noticeable features was the hotel being bought out on Friday and Saturday, ensuring only [[furries]] were on-site. These days, the convention also rented the hotel rooftop, the site of a 21+ party both nights.

After year one's completion, LVFC decided to experiment with being [[21+]] for 2024, hoping to reduce [[ID check]]s at its current venue and improve negotiations with future venues. The convention also bought out Sunday, ensuring only [[fur]]s would be on-site for three days straight.

Initially, [[Tani Coyote]] and Addy Acro-Santos served as [[co-Chair]]s, but in August of 2024, Tani took over as full Chair. Unlike in 2023, for 2024 the convention sold out all 496 rooms of the Alexis Park by late August, forcing the need for overflow hotels.

== Mascots ==

The con's four [[mascot]]s are '''Ace''' the [[coyote]], Kingsley the [[sheep|bighorn sheep]], '''Queen Sierra''' the [[cougar|mountain puma]], and '''Jackpot''' the [[jackrabbit]]. Each represents a [[playing card suit]] and different aspects of the diverse [[furry community]].<ref>[https://www.lasvegasfurcon.org/mascots/ Mascots], retrieved December 12, 2022.</ref>

Sursiq: adjusted signage time

Hey, I'm '''V. CA''', welcome to my talk page. This is the best place to contact me about WikiFur stuff, although you can also contact me on [https://www.furaffinity.net/user/vca/ Fur Affinity] - response times from any medium other than WikiFur may be much slower! Don't ask me for personal exclusion because you'll need to contact a [[WikiFur:Colleagues|curator]] for that!

==Welcome==
{{welcome}}--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] ([[User talk:Higgs Raccoon|talk]]) 11:31, 7 November 2016 (EST)

== Farble ==

A [http://thefarbledesigner.wixsite.com/farble/single-post/2015/10/06/What-is-a-Farble farble] appears to be a closed species, as well as a [https://www.facebook.com/groups/Farble/ Facebook community]. How should this be clarified in the article? Should it also get its own article? --[[User:V. CA|V. CA]] ([[User talk:V. CA|talk]]) 18:06, 14 November 2016 (EST)

:Due to the high number of novel new species people create, they usually don't get their own articles unless they become especially well-known and wide-spread. (For example, [[sergal]]s and [[chakat]]s.) Until then, any description of the species would usually only be added to the article about their creator. So in the case of the [[COMMONER]] article, I would add something after "farble" like "(a mythological closed species created by <nowiki>[whoever]</nowiki>)". That oughta do it.--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] ([[User talk:Higgs Raccoon|talk]]) 18:16, 14 November 2016 (EST)

== Use preview ==

When making multiple edits to an article, please use the "Show preview" button to view intermediate changes, and try to limit use of the "Save page" button to when you are finished making all of your changes. Frequent use of "Save page" during editing tends to clutter the article's edit history and the site's change log.

--[[User:Equivamp|Equivamp]] - [[User talk:Equivamp|talk]] 11:40, 28 November 2016 (EST)
:Noted. I usually do that, not sure why I suddenly stopped today. --[[User:V. CA|V. CA]] ([[User talk:V. CA|talk]]) 11:46, 28 November 2016 (EST)

== Paddington ==

Since you already wrote the section on [[History of Fur Affinity]], Dragoneer posted [https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7964514/ another journal] about the Paddington DMCA, maybe you could use this to expand the section a little more. --[[User:V. :WikiFur catalogues all furries great and small. Anyway, you made an account here and have been editing, which is reason enough.--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] ([[User talk:Higgs Raccoon|talk]]) 11:02, 17 January 2017 (EST)

:Yes, probably. Thanks for the heads-up. (Actually, I think the ban period on their account has passed, so they don't need to keep changing IPs. I just wish they'd stop wasting everyone's time by ignoring the directions given to them.)--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] ([[User talk:Higgs Raccoon|talk]]) 16:16, 1 February 2017 (EST)

==Meisarrg==

I know it's not technically following procedure, but I would have left [[Meisarrg]] as it was edited for now. [[Talk:Meisarrg]] shows he actually had properly requested exclusion (after I contacted them to help them) and GR confirmed it, it just slipped past I guess and wasn't removed. --[[User:FrostTheFox|FrostTheFox]] ([[User talk:FrostTheFox|talk]]) 21:48, 1 November 2017 (EDT)
:You're right, I'm sorry, I see it's excluded now. I'd usually check for things like that but in this case didn't bother knowing the history of how many times this page has needed to be reverted already. --[[User:V. CA|V. CA]] ([[User talk:V. CA|talk]]) 12:24, 2 November 2017 (EDT)

== Hello, Request and Thanks==
Hey, thank you very much for your welcome, I was wondering if you could help me out with the Wiki Furry Central page, we have created an event called Argentina FurFiesta and they listed in 2019 TBA (which is correct) but under the name "Furry Fiesta" and with the link to our page broken.

:Thanks for letting me know - and yeah, [[Special:ListGroupRights#bureaucrat|Hiding specific revisions (deleterevision) requires bureaucrat status]]. Deleting the whole article is an option, but only in an emergency. I've hidden the offending revisions. Thank you for the warm welcome! I am mostly here to add in a page for the event I run, [[FANG! (nightclub)|Fang]], and as of right now I am waiting to be added to autoconfirmed users so that I can properly show images on the page :)
Otherwise I've been contributing what I feel I am capable of! Still learning the ropes, but liking what I see so far. I definitely feel there is a lack of activity, but that's to be expected form a volunteer-based website! Hoping I can dedicate some time here to help provide information to the fandom <3 -[[User:Sursiq|Sursiq]] ([[User talk:Sursiq|talk]]) 13:18, 04 June 2025 (CDT)

FANG! (nightclub)

2025-06-04T03:59:42Z

Sursiq: Added rename proposal

{{rename|Fang Events}}

== Overview and history ==
=== Humble beginnings ===
FANG began as a small bar crawl meet in downtown Madison, WI. The group bar hopped to various locations, but as the group grew, founders [https://bsky.app/profile/barleycat.bsky.social BarleyCat], [https://bsky.app/profile/mojitothelion.bsky.social MojitotheLion], [https://bsky.app/profile/astrothewolf.com AstrotheWolf], [https://bsky.app/profile/rebelsheppy.bsky.social RebelDog], and more decided to move the event to a single location.
As their time at FIVE nightclub came to a conclusion, the team consisted of BarleyCat, MojitotheLion, AstrotheWolf, RebelDog, [https://bsky.app/profile/koji.gay KojiCoyote], [https://bsky.app/profile/sursiq.bsky.social Sursiq], and [https://bsky.app/profile/eclipsed.bsky.social Snow (18+)].
The current board consists of AstrotheWolf, Sursiq, [https://bsky.app/profile/Cyn.pics Cyn], RebelDog, Snow, [https://bsky.app/profile/syne.wtf Syne], and [https://bsky.app/profile/statiik.bsky.social Statiik (18+)].
