2026-05-12T06:21:57Z

Squirrelly:

Hollows MUCK is a small, quiet, character‑driven roleplay world focused on exploration, atmosphere, and handcrafted spaces. It’s designed as a relaxed, low‑pressure environment where players can wander, build, and interact at their own pace.
Everyone is welcome here — Furs, Toons, Vampires, Humans, and all other races and species. The world is intentionally flexible, allowing characters from many genres to coexist without heavy theme restrictions.
The setting blends soft science fiction, small‑town charm, and light adventure elements. The world is built with attention to detail, featuring unique locations, interactive props, and a sense of lived‑in presence even during quiet hours. This is an 18+ environment.
Hollows MUCK is ideal for players who enjoy worldbuilding, casual RP, and collaborative storytelling. Newcomers can explore freely, meet the local characters, and settle into the world however they like.

Squirrelly:

Cite its references or sources? I am the source and reference to my own history. :-) Is there some other kind that can be provided? I don't believe I have receipts for when I signed up for mucks, attended cons, or wrote some MUF. :-) There are creation dates and such for my characters and programs, but you'd have to log into the mucks in question and probably have to have wizard access to view it. So not something you can give a ready link to. -- Squirrelly

I have added some (your homepage, your description of MU's history, you alt. contribution). The tag is normally added to articles with no existing (in article) external refs links, specially if the person has been this long involved in the fandom. That leaves a mark). Old references (Usenet posts), to modern Social Media (Facebook, Twitter), all help. Just FYI - Spirou 15:04, 28 July 2013 (EDT)

Bleh, I'm really not liking my page here now. I really don't want my real name displayed so prominently. I know it exists in some other places, but I'm trying to minimize it and didn't give permission for it to be here. And half of what colorful information I wanted to share like my convention history and friends has been stripped out and replaced with a cold bullet list. I am an artist, was on Morphicon staff, I am on Second Life, and Squirrelly is a toon (and thus toon character), not just 'toony.' But true I didn't mention those parts in the article as there wasn't much to say other than it was so. Though most of that would have been in the convention info, which was stripped out, if I had. Meh. -- Squirrelly 23:32, 24 July 2018 (EDT)

Also part of the reason I came by today was that I got an email to my wikifur-only email address asking for a password reset, but it was saying it was for "FANDOM", the from address being community@fandom.com. So unless fandom.com and wikifur have a shared user base, that is very suspicious. And how do they have my email address I only used here and not shared with anyone. Babs Bunny (person)

:For the Tiny Toons character, see Babs Bunny at Wikipedia.

Babs Bunny (real name Juliette Magera) is an artist and creator of Durabbit Durabbit, a furry send-up of the rock group Duran Duran.

Her fursona was formerly the pink rabbit from Tiny Toon Adventures. In May 2006, she adapted her fursona to a more original creation; a fuschia and pink rabbit with an early 80s punk look. The new fursona (still named Babs Bunny, but with a full name of "Babbette Lilias Jackrabbit") is a much closer resemblance to Babs' real life look. Babs is an artist who may be found at many conventions, drawing or taking on sketchbook commissions. Her relatively toony style is very distinct.

Babs is also a fursuiter and a puppeteer. She is the player of Bunny Bloom (a character from the mind of Eric Schwartz), Money Penny, and Lili Fox. She loves to perform in fursuit in parades as well as at furry conventions/fursuiting functions.

Her puppets have made appearances on the Funday Pawpet Show and on Rapid T. Rabbit and Friends. The most well known of these is Nick Rhabbit, built primarily by Babs herself. Nick is a grey rabbit parody of Nick Rhodes from Duran Duran. More recently however, she debuted a replica of Baby Rowlf of Muppet Babies fame at Midwest Furfest 2006.

In 2005, she was the Panelist of Honor at Rocket City FurMeet.

Rory has a nightclub on Second Life called "Club Rory" where he DJs several nights weekly, he also has other DJs from Second Life, as well as some well known real world DJs, such as DJ Genki.

Rory discovered furry in 1995 after reading a copy of Furrlough that had a Mel White story in which a character mentioned that there was a place on line where fans of anthropomorphic animals gathered to talk. After investigating there, he made his way to Furtoonia where he was a regular for many years.

Andy Fox

Squirrelly:

Andy Fox is a cartoon enthusiast, fanfiction writer, fursuiter and furry artist. His main interest is cartoons, especially Warner Brothers classic Looney Tunes and Tiny Toon Adventures. His own fursona is a cartoon red fox, who appears in much of Andy's fanfiction and also exists as plush toys which he sells.

Andy also has an interest in carousel animals, and this is reflected in his furry artwork, much of which depicts one animal riding another. In pictures of his own fursona, he is often shown riding a white rabbit called Fluffy. He also has several full-sized carousel menagerie animals in his home.

Andy Fox owns two fursuits. His first costume experience was during Halloween 1997, when he rented a silver fox costume. Having enjoyed himself, Andy proceeded to build his own fursuit - a toony red fox. He also occasionally adds a saddle and bridle outfit to his costume for pictures and rides. He also owns a raccoon costume that he purchased from Realms of Enchantment.

Andy has written several fan fiction stories for a small community of cartoon fans who subscribe to a Tiny Toons Fan Fiction Mailing List. Andy's works can be found on his personal web site and on FanFiction.net.

Years ago, Andy set up a residence for himself on Furtoonia under the username AndyFox but is rarely active there these days. He no longer frequents FurryMUCK and his account there has since been purged.

Furry-Muckity Muck

Squirrelly:

Furry-Muckity Muck is an article that originally appeared in The Netly News during 1996, written by Chris Stamper (which Pressed Fur opines may have been a furry, as he signs himself 'Wolfman').. It focuses on the impact of the Communications Decency Act (CDA) on FurryMUCK and related MUCKs. This is largely through the story of the then-underage user Vulpine, who as a result of the CDA had his account frozen on FurryMUCK and was toaded on FurToonia.

The commentary on Pressed Fur adds further detail to the story:

:"The story is pretty accurate, and as it indicates, Vulpine was removed for lying about his age after the CDA made it necessary for MUCKs to attempt to keep minors out of adult areas. What it doesn't note is that he not only frequented adult areas, he also ran one or two of his own, which compounded the problem...Vulpine has since soured on the fandom and often posts to furry items on Something Awful, billing himself as a 'reformed furry.'").

Xyanth also known as Xyanth Cat, has been a programmer on several MUCKs, often playing as Timon (from The Lion King) or Gunda, both meerkats, or his most common persona, Xyanth. He started out on the internet in 1996 on a public chatroom called Silverchair Chat, where he spent pretty much every afternoon speaking with common friends and frequent new ones. At this point he was in middle school, and still learning about computers themselves, though he had no need for typing classes by now. In 1998 he was invited by a friend on the Silverchair Chat named Jenzi, who brought him to EntertainMUCK, where he found his way away from the brief and unpunctuated typing methods of fast-paced chatrooms into the world of MUCK-based roleplay and building. From here over the years he spread out across the large range of MUCKs available, joining MUCKs such as Toons, Fur and Fluff MUCK, Furtoonia MUCK, Sociopolitical Ramifications MUCK, Fluff MUCK, and others.

In 1999 He eventually met a fellow who educated him on MUF and MPI programming, where he found his original start in the coding of MUCKs, and from there he developed his knowledge and experience with programming on MUCKs over the years, picking up programming jobs as the programming wizard, or simply debug and repair tasks.

Dan R. Hauschild aka Takaza J. Wolf (born 1976) is a native of northeastern Illinois. He first found furry fandom in 1995 through his interest in The Lion King. He joined TLKMUCK and FDCMuck soon after, and subsequently FurryMUCK and Furtoonia. On Furtoonia, he learned of ChiFur, a mailing list for furs in his area, and became active with the Chicago-area furry group, known today as the Lake Area Furry Friends. This led to his working with Robert King at Duckon 7 and 8 (1998-1999).

Takaza has been a member of both the Board of Directors and staff of Midwest FurFest since its inception, serving as Hotel Liaison (2000, 2006 - 2007), Publications Director (2000 - 2003, 2006 - 2007), and Convention Chairman (2004 - 2005). == History ==

FurToonia was started in January 1994, after ShasMUCK was handed off by Shasta to Kahz, and the name was then changed to FurToonia. The MUCK was primarily built by Tabyathe, Kahz, and Alexei, with help from Sonic and Rrauwl, and MUF coding and technical work by Squirrelly. By late 1994 or so, FurToonia was fairly popular, partly because of its role as a "spillover" MUCK, an alternate gathering spot when FurryMUCK was inaccessible due to problems with its internet connection.

It also became a home for the kinds of roleplay and personalities that FurryMUCK didn't always approve of, given the MUCK's more progressive policies. Some feel that there were a number of internal cultural conflicts during this time, including one that centered around an adult establishment which many felt was against the overall theme of the MUCK. The reality is, conflicts like those were mostly external in the early years, meaning that progressive policy was created and supported by both the owner and the WizCore. As is often the case, the loudest battles are fought loudly by people with no real say in the matter. This stance may or may not have changed in later years.

By late 2005, interest and attendance have trailed off somewhat, however the MUCK was and is the scene of some sprawling, and in many cases interesting and cleverly executed building projects; its database contains at least 200,000 objects.

ShasMUCK was originally founded by Shasta on January 1st, 1994. Amongst others, Squirrelly was briefly on this MUCK, and offered a position as a wizard, but had to turn it down at that time.

Later that same month, Shasta turned the MUCK over to Kahz, which then became FurToonia.

MUCK

2007-09-07T07:15:43Z

Squirrelly: /* External links */

A MUCK is an online role-playing game that is usually text-based and accessible through telnet, as well as a variety of MUCK clients. The term MUCK doesn't actually stand for anything, but is rather a play on the word "MUD", which stands for "Multi User Dungeon/Domain". However, the popular backronym for MUCK is "Multi-User Created Kingdom".

Each MUCK has its own sets of rules and policies. Some MUCKs allow players to be Out Of Character (OOC) as much as they like, while others require them to be In Character (IC) more often, or always. Rules can vary in different areas of the MUCK.

Most MUCKs allow players to build. Creation might be restricted to simple objects, expanded to rooms and exits, or policy might allow for complex scripting. The creation and customization aspects of MUCK allow the player base to build a world.

The term 'mucking' means playing on a MUCK.

TinyMUCK Programming Languages
*MPI - A macro expansion language used to make descriptions more dynamic, it has grown into a full fledged language on it's own.
*MUF - The original extension language introduced in TinyMUCK it is faster than MPI and commonly used for larger projects.

Types of MUCK Servers
*TinyMUCK - Original fork of TinyMUD that added the MUF programming language (as it's most notable feature).
*MUCK - Current most popular TinyMUCK server that runs the two biggest servers.
*GlowMUCK - FuzzBall variant.
*NeonMUCK - FuzzBall variant.
*ProtoMUCK - Branched from both to Glow and NeonMUCK, fairly popular in smaller Mucks.
*ngMUCK - Not truly a Muck fork, it is an attempt to rewrite the Muck engine, not currently complete.

Most popular furry-themed MUCKs
This is just a highlight - for a virtually complete list, see Rhal's Furry MU*s Connector or explore WikiFur's multiplayer worlds category.

* Tapestries MUCK - An adult-oriented MUCK with no human characters allowed. This is the largest furry-themed MUCK in terms of users, attaining about 800 connections at peak time.
* FurryMUCK - The "original" MUCK for furries.
* Sociopolitical Ramifications - A sci-fi furry MUCK, with 60-80 connections nightly.
* YIMU Island - A MUCK run by Yiffstar.
* The Lion King MUCK - The Lion King themed MUCK.
* Meadows MUCK - North American wildlife themed MUCK.
* Le Jardin Mystique MUCK - Adult furry themed MUCK.

Squirrelly:

Squirrelly is a furry who has been a member of MUCKs since June 25th, 1992. His first Internet access actually started back in 1991, with alt.tv.tiny-toons, before there was public access to the Internet.

Eventually introduced to FurryMUCK by a friend from the Tiny Toons news group, he quickly picked up on the furry fandom, joining many MU*s like RealmsMUCK, DruidMUCK, WizardMUCK (which later became The Den), Unbridled Desires, FurToonia, and Tapestries. He became a wizard on some and provided MUF code for many others. Some of his more well known MUFs are the newer version of action.muf (the 'hug' command and such) and the MeetMe program.

This also led to attending various conventions, including ConFurence, East, Albany Anthrocon in NY that eventually became just Anthrocon, Midwest FurFest, and most recently Further Confusion. AC and MMF are his most regular attended conventions currently, with regular get-togethers by members of the Tiny Toons online groups at AC.

This also led to attending various conventions, naturally.
