Retrieved May 1, 2008</ref>.

Origin
Spikester entered the furry fandom in 2001 after doing some volunteer mascot work for the First National Bank of Durango and as an evolution from being a fan of the musical Cats. After having a lot of fun portraying a character, he started browsing furry art and acquainting himself with new friends in the fandom. While serving in the United States Army from 2003 to 2012, he had many opportunities to meet furs from all over the world. His name originates from being a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, his favorite character from the show being Spike.

Characters
Spikester has two fursonas as well as a made-up character based on Cats:
*Spike is his created character based on 'Cats'. The markings resemble the Broadway version of "Alonzo", but uses a lot of tan and brown instead of Alonzo's black markings. The costume for Spike was built by MsJellicle.
*Altrus is his first fursona and is based on his first Second Life avatar and his passion for foxes. Altrus is a red fox and was built by Arito Cotton and Liam Roark of Luskwood Creatures, and made its debut at Eurofurence 14. Altrus has been unofficially "retired" since 2013, but Spikester still owns the suit.
*Newlyn, a snow leopard, is his second fursona and represents his more playful and spontaneous side. Spikester created this fursona because he wanted to have a character built from the ground up and not based on anyone or anything. His fursuit was built by Snap E Tiger of ByCats4Cats.com and made his convention debut at Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2013.

Conventions Attended
*Eurofurence: 2008
*Rocky Mountain Fur Con: 2009; 2012-2016
*Biggest Little Fur Con: 2017
*Midwest FurFest: 2015-2017

When at conventions, he usually likes to relax, take in a panel or two, and reconnect with old friends.

Occupation and Hobbies
Spikester currently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he works for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS). Other than fursuiting, he enjoys bowling, computer games, bicycling, swimming and loves movies. Spikester also has a penchant for foreign languages and, other than English, can speak French and Japanese (conversationally), and Italian (beginner).

Spikester can be found in Second Life as Spike McDowwll, where he previously served as a Staff member for the Rocket City FurMeet sim and as a DJ for GYC. He previously DJed on a freelance basis for most any genre of music, but specializes in Trance and Psy-Trance.

Spikester served as the Social Media Manager for Rocky Mountain Fur Con, where he maintained the convention's presence on Facebook, Twitter, FurAffinity, Google+ and many other social media outlets until the convention's cancellation in April 2017.

Spikester currently serves as the Assistant Director of Operations for DenFur along with BryantFox.

References
<references/>

External links
Spikester
* Spikester on LiveJournal (updates discontinued)
* Spikester on MySpace (updates discontinued)
* Altrus on MyFursona (updates discontinued)
* Spikester on Fur Affinity
* Spikester on Facebook
* Spikester on Twitter
* Spikester on Blogger

person-stub

Spikester //en.wikifur.com/wiki/Rocky_Mountain_Fur_Con Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2017-04-13T06:41:34Z
Spikester: Removing bias.

Rocky Mountain Fur Con
Rocky Mountain Fur Con, often abbreviated RMFC, was an furry convention that took place every August in Denver, Colorado.

History
{{q|Rocky Mountain Fur Con was first organized by the Mid-America Anthropomorphics and Arts Corporation to take place in June of 2006 to cater to the large population of furries living in Colorado and surrounding areas. The twelfth Eurofurence was held at the same place as the eleventh one, and the fourteenth one will be held at the same place where thirteenth one.

Eurofurence and the Mephit Mini Con share some lighting equipment and art panels for economy's sake, but are not officially related.

Staff history
* Eurofurence 1 was first organized in 1995 by Tes-Tui-H'ar and unci, both of whom are no longer involved with operating the con.
* In 1997, Sven "Cheetah" Tegethoff, took over as convention chairman of Eurofurence 3 and would chair nearly every Eurofurence since then.
* Eurofurence 4 was organized and financed by Samarindus, who found a location for the 1998 convention in the Netherlands with the help of Naros.
* Later in 1998, Eurofurence e.V. was registered as a social organization in Germany to operate the convention annually from Eurofurence 5 in 1999 to the present day.

Locations and dates
The Eurofurence has been held in the following places over the years:

* Eurofurence 1: 1995-06-30 to 1995-07-03 : Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
* Eurofurence 2: 1996-07-18 to 1996-07-22 : Linköping, Östergötland County, Sweden
* Eurofurence 3: 1997-08-21 to 1997-08-24 : Bodstedt, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany
* Eurofurence 4: 1998-08-01 to 1998-08-05 : Heeze, Noord-Brabant, The Netherlands
* Eurofurence 5: 1999-07-22 to 1999-07-25 : Berlin, Germany
* Eurofurence 6: 2000-08-10 to 2000-08-13 : Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany
* Eurofurence 7: 2001-07-22 to 2001-07-25 : Kirchen (Sieg), Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
* Eurofurence 8: 2002-08-15 to 2002-08-18 : Oberbernhards, Hesse, Germany
* Eurofurence 9: 2003-08-21 to 2003-08-24 : Samopše, Středočeský kraj, Czech Republic
* Eurofurence 10: 2004-08-26 to 2004-08-29 : Olpe, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany (also known as EFX by the organization committee)
* Eurofurence 11: 2005-07-21 to 2005-07-24 : Nürnberg, Bavaria, Germany
* Eurofurence 12: 2006-08-23 to 2006-08-27 : Nürnberg, Bavaria, Germany
* Eurofurence 13: 2007-09-05 to 2007-09-09 : Suhl, Thuringia, Germany

Upcoming events:
* Eurofurence 14: 2008-08-27 to 2008-08-31 : Suhl, Thuringia, Germany

Guests of Honour
Since Eurofurence 5, back in 1999, Eurofurence has had a guest of honour almost every year (possibly except for Eurofurence 6 & 9).
