MAP!

2020-02-11T22:59:41Z

SockyNoob: Added stub tag.

Mississippi Anthropomorphics, most commonly referred to as MAP!, was a regional group of furries and non-furries, located in South Mississippi, who held an annual picnic at Kamper Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The group is no longer active, and it's unknown exactly when the group disbanded. MAP! bears no relation to the modern state-wide Mississippi Anthropomorphics group, despite sharing the same name.

History
MAP!'s first picnic was held on August 5th, 2007 as a pre-meet for Mephit Fur Meet 11. Instead, the 14 furries and 1 human who attended this potluck picnic decided it should be held annually. On January 12-13th, 2008, MAP! held its first furmeet in Hattiesburg at the Richburg Community Center with around 30 people attending. The guests of honor were Kos Aldrus, the MAP! Public Relations director, and Savaaha D'Loren, one of Furtopia's administration.

Mission Statement
MAP! was South Mississippi's Hub City local furry group who hosted an annual summer picnic at Kamper Park in Hattiesburg. Their goal was to create a physical community that reflects the support and positive outlook on life throughout the furry fandom. All furries and non-furries alike were invited to their activities. All donations to MAP! were utilized, along with their private funding, to make their annual picnic and other furmeets become a reality.

MobiFurs, previously MobileFurs, is a regional furry group based in Mobile, Alabama, USA.

History
MobiFurs was created on June 24, 2012 as a way for furries in the Mobile area to socialize and plan events. At some point, the group joined Telegram and has remained there ever since.

General
MobiFurs is a part of Open Coast and neighbors South Mississippi Furry Association and Mississippi Gulf Coast Furs. As such, MobiFurs furmeets are not only attended by its own members but also by furries of the other furry groups in the area.

Events
GnG
MobiFurs hosts a meet at Gamers N Geeks in Mobile every second Saturday of the month. Furries regularly bring various card, board, and video games for people to play. It's also a fursuit-friendly event, which gives furries a chance to fursuit somewhere with much less people than other meets may have.

History
South Mississippi has had multiple different groups try to bring the area together over the years, none of which were particularly long-lasting or successful. Most of the groups were disbanded due to drama, the platform used becoming unpopular, or members moving out of the area.

SMFA's origins started when a few members of South MS Furs started to realize that the group was unlikely going to be active again due to the group's owner leaving the fandom and mods having no way to maintain the group. Said members discussed plans for a new furry group that took the ideas of other groups that worked well while avoiding the ideas that failed. Certain changes were going to be made for the group, such as having a strong admin team that can add more admins when necessary, having a better social media presence, and allowing any member to plan furmeets very easily and have it broadcasted to the group. The discussion resonated with people and led to the creation of SMFA in October 2019.

Many South MS Furs members expressed doubts at first, but eventually nearly all of South MS Furs migrated to SMFA and GulfCoast Furs. SMFA's first furmeet was hosted on November 1, 2019, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and their second furmeet was hosted on January 17, 2020 in Gulfport, Mississippi. These first two meets were important to drive home the fact that SMFA was not exclusively for residents of the Gulf Coast like previous groups were.

General
SMFA's goal is to become a long-lasting and successful furry group for the region. The group has many key differences that it hopes will help it reach that goal. SMFA's plan is to rejuvenate the area's furry community, have more frequent and consistent furmeets all across the region, and provide a safe and positive environment for its members. SMFA hopes that all of this will raise the group's awareness to furries in the area so the community there can become active like others across the country.

The group's main location is on Telegram, which is the most active chat and where all meets are posted. The group also has a Discord chat that's not very active but is still used by a few members at times. The group currently sits at nearly 100 members and is expected to grow larger as the group's awareness reaches more furries in the area.

SMFA does not limit itself to people in South Mississippi, though most of the members live in the area. There are members in the group that live in the surrounding area or even in states that are hours away as well. A large amount of people in the group live on the coast, which is why it's not uncommon to see meets shared with the chat that are not hosted by SMFA itself but rather the coast-specific group GulfCoast Furs as well as other nearby furry groups. Because of this, it's common for many members to attend meets from other groups in the surrounding area due to the proximity of them.

Due to the fact that there are less active furries living in South Mississippi and furry groups in Mississippi historically haven't been very successful, SMFA is considered to be, more or less, an extension to the largest furry groups in the surrounding area, which are: Louisiana Furs, GulfCoast Furs, MobiFurs, and Open Coast. In fact, many admins and members from the other groups are also in SMFA and vice-versa. Despite this, SMFA wants to host more of its own meets in the future as it continues to grow larger in members and awareness and establishes itself as a long-term and serious furry group for the area.

Silver the Hedgehog (シルバー・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Shirubā za Hejjihoggu) is a fictional character in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog hailing from two hundred years into the future where his role is to protect his time by changing the catastrophes of the past, thus preventing the ruining of his era. For his mission, Silver makes use of his psychokinesis, an ability from his time that is considered the norm, which allows him to move objects with the power of his mind.

Silver is a kindhearted and well-meaning individual, driven by a strong sense of justice to right the wrongs of the past to uphold peace, though he is somewhat naive and immature. Despite the monumental tasks he may have on hand, he is an optimist and will do whatever is required to protect the world.

Concept and creation
Silver's creation was inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) early development stages, where the development team was making huge levels with multiple paths through them. With a new physics engine giving a lot of depth to the game experience, they decided they wanted to include a new character with unique abilities for an alternate way to play through the levels. This lead to Silver being given his psychokinetic powers. Early drafts describes Silver as having "special powers" of unknown origin drawn from the Chaos Emeralds, but this was rejected in the final game. Shiro Maekawa based Silver's character on Future Trunks from the Dragon Ball series.

According to Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection interview with Sega developer Shun Nakamura, Silver's abilities were originally designed for a different action game with the character not meant to make an appearance. During the development of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) in 2005, another action game Sonic Team developed, yet later cancelled, named Fifth Phantom Saga featured core gameplay mechanics that focuses on the use of abilities similar to Silver's. Wanting to incorporate features emphasizing Silver's abilities, the team sought to give the character new attributes that no other Sonic characters had. The design team developed over fifty different concepts for the character before reaching his final look, where early sketches included a hedgehog-like animal wearing a futuristic headset and markings on its hair. When the team first started and had no idea what direction to follow, someone came up with the idea of a character with Sonic's scarf-like hair, but in more volume. From this idea, the team pursued the idea for a mink named "Venice", after Venice in Italy, the place Soleanna is based on. However, the developers ultimately decided against this, fearing a mink would not blend in with the rest of the characters. After much discussion, the team finalized Silver as a hedgehog.

The next thing to do was choosing the color of the character. Orange was originally used for his fur for exploration, but they soon moved away from that in favor of a white-gray fur. While developing the character models and textures, they focused on using the hardware to develop the textures rather than just using simple white-gray, which led to Silver's color and name.

Appearance
Silver is a very light gray (almost white) anthropomorphic hedgehog with white fur on his chest surrounding his neck with gold eyes and tan skin. He has two large spines at the back of his head, while at the front of his forehead there are five distinct spines flared up and back, the two final ones covering up most of his ears.

For attire, he wears white gloves with cyan circles with lines sticking out of the bottom leading to his golden bracelets accented in cyan. The tops of his boots are of a similar fashion with a red gem set in gold. The rest of his boots are navy blue, white and cyan.

Personality
Silver is best described as having "a strong sense of justice" and it is this personality trait that motivates him to head back into the past to correct the future. He believes in standing up for those who can't stand up for themselves. This led him to accept Blaze when everybody else was teasing her for her pyrokinetic abilities. When he pursues an enemy, he does so with a relentless determination. He makes alliances and rivalries very easily and takes people's word without question; this makes him easily tricked by others. According to his character profile in Sonic Generations, he is an optimist (though as stated by himself in Sonic Forces, while an optimist, he is also a realist).

Although seemingly serious on the outside, an interview states that Silver is young and somewhat immature. Blaze comments on this several times and describes him as naïve and insecure when he is alone. Owing to his naivety, Silver also has no idea of how to engage in more informal conversations with others; when Sonic tried trash talking with Silver during Dodon Pa's Grand Prix, the latter took many of Sonic's statements so literally that Sonic noted that he took all the fun out of such banter. Silver is also a regular sweetheart, always ready to protect those in need and lend a helping hand. He generally keeps a positive attitude and never gives up hope, no matter how objectively hopeless the situation.

Silver wears his heart on his sleeve. He feels anger and joy intensely and loudly, but his sadness is silent and hardly, if ever, marked by tears. He lets his rage control him and cheerfully remarks on the things that make him happy, but hardly says a word in his sadness, though it is visible to everyone. However, though he may feel sad, he never gives in to despair, always looking for a solution the right way. His determination and little regard for pain can make him a very frightening opponent.

Silver is very courageous and brave, willing to fearlessly sacrifice himself for another in a heartbeat. Utterly unflinching in the face of danger, he is courageous almost to the point of foolishness and is the focus on snuffing out evil with little regard for his own safety.

Despite Silver's naivete and general lack of critical thinking, he is not outright slow-witted. Even Eggman Nega called him perceptive, and Silver was the first to see through his otherwise perfect disguise. With little information to draw upon, he lets his intuition guide him, but as a relatively isolated person, he has little understanding of interpersonal relations or the subtle tools of manipulators.

He apparently has a competitive streak and gets a little snotty and a prickly attitude in the heat of the moment, as seen in Sonic Rivals 2; when you play as him and pass your rival, he'll say, "I'm better." or if you win a race or battle, he says, "Who's the best?" In Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, when you win a race he says, "I am not to be trifled with!" and in Sonic Free Riders he sneers "'LATER!'" upon cruising past a fellow competitor. In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), he generally refers to the Iblis monsters and Eggman's robots as "trash," and typically congratulates himself with a smug tone upon dispatching a roomful of them.

When meeting anyone that gets in his way, particularly in Sonic Rivals and Sonic Rivals 2, Silver can be very short-tempered and bossy towards anyone that's not explicitly helping him in his mission, sometimes even becoming directly hostile and start a fight on a bad choice of words.

When Silver is not focused on his current mission or does not have a task at hand, however, he is very friendly, helpful, and a good companion to have around.

Powers and abilities
Psychokinesis
Silver's main power is his psychokinesis, the ability to manipulate the environment around him with the power of his mind. Silver is a definite master of this skill, being able to telekinetically grab and move up to several objects many times his own size and weight as both a single- or collective mass, his most impressive feat being his Meteor Smash attack where he forms a compressed ball of objects over twenty times his own size and could potentially weigh a net total of several tons. However, it is unknown how much he can grab at once. Silver can also use his psychokinesis on himself to enable him to not only hover but also fly at speeds rivaling Sonic's. Also, his psychokinesis doubles as a force field, as seen in Sonic Forces when he used this ability to fight a powerful being like Infinite to a brief standstill. Granted, Silver did get overpowered by Infinite, but he still hit him with enough force to make him drop a Phantom Ruby prototype.

Silver's psychokinesis is a powerful force of its own. With it, he can exert enough pressure to bend half a meter thick steel bars, crush robots with a single grab, and immobilize others' movements completely. When repelling objects with his psychokinesis, Silver can throw them with enough force and speed to crush metal, fly tremendous distances, and even stun enormous monsters such as Iblis. Additionally, Silver can also use his psychokinesis to grab onto certain non-solid objects, such as fireballs and certain types of energy blasts.

Silver can also use his psychokinesis to project pure psychic energies that he can manipulate into energy-based attacks, such as sharp blades, pulses to strike his targets at all ranges, and an even burst of energy that can paralyze his targets.

Besides the offense, Silver can apply his psychokinesis for his other abilities. He can use it for the ability of ESP, giving him extra-sensory perception that allows him limited telepathy, but so far only enough to induce limited vertigo in others. He can also use it to teleport himself over short distances instantaneously by warping space.

Physical abilities
While not shown during his introduction, Silver is capable of moving at super speeds which are an innate talent that members of the hedgehog species possess. As seen in Sonic Rivals and Sonic Rivals 2, Silver is capable running at speeds comparable to Sonic and Shadow's, without wearing down. Also, as another example, he is also seen on the loops within Crisis City from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), able to maintain his running speed without falling, like Shadow was seen if done in a similar manner when finishing the first stage of Crisis City.

Silver has incredible physical durability and endurance as seen in the console/PC version of Sonic Generations, where he withstood several hits from Sonic's Homing Attack, slid along the ground for long distances without harm, and even managed to survive being buried under what could be worth several tons of debris.

Silver has proven himself to be very acrobatic and agile, being able to jump and move gracefully through midair, both with and without the aid of his psychokinesis, and can grind on rails at high speed to match up to various character's, such as Sonic and Shadow while wearing combat boots, of an exception to stay in a single pose, which his skills are nigh-incomplete, as a testament to his balance and agility. He also has lightning fast reflexes and senses, being able to mimic and cope with approximately even Sonic and Shadow's movements. Additionally, he can do amazing feats as well, such as picking up objects while moving through midair at high velocity, catch bullets with his psychokinesis, or causing any monster he comes into, to be suspended, in anyway combining his impressive accuracy with his psychokinesis, he is able to throw enemies and heavy objects at the same speed as the projectiles, without his arms getting tired. Silver also possesses above average physical strength, capable of pushing things several times bigger and heavier than himself.

Silver has demonstrated the ability to harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds to empower himself or even perform Chaos Powers. So far, the only Chaos Power he has been able to perform is Chaos Control, which lets him warp time and space, sealing anybody along with him into another dimension that he can choose. However, this was mentioned by Blaze the Cat, at the end of Silver's Story from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), and he can empower himself by enhancing his own abilities, or to an additional extent, give him unlimited Psychic Energies for his psychic attacks.

Combat skills
Silver is one of the most powerful and profound fighters in the series, as he can fight on par with the most battle-experiences individuals in the series. He has been hinted to hold about the same power as Shadow the Hedgehog, and in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) he was able to fight Shadow to a stalemate and almost brought Sonic to the brink of death, though Sonic was being careless during their fight in the latter case.

Fighting style
In combat, Silver relies heavily on his psychokinesis and using the environment to his advantage. Unlike most other characters who utilize close combat, Silver focuses on long-range attacks. When fighting, Silver constantly keeps his distance from the enemy, as he needs a moment to concentrate for an attack, which will leave him vulnerable. If an opponent does get too close, however, he can grab them with his psychokinesis and throw them away.

Silver's main method of attack is picking up objects around him with his psychokinesis and hurtle them at his opponents. Occasionally, he can also rearrange these objects into colossal conglomerated shapes as more effective means of attacking, such as giant balls to bowl over opponents and train-sized battering rams. If projectiles are shot at him, Silver can grab them in his psychokinesis and throw them back at the opponent, effectively allowing him to turn his opponents' power against them.

When times call for it, Silver is capable of going on the offensive with hand-to-hand combat, as seen in his battle with Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), and in Sonic Rivals and Sonic Rivals 2 where he would attack enemies with physical strikes. However, his proficiency with this type of combat is unclear, as he has only demonstrated a limited range of punches and Spin Attack maneuvers. He seems unskilled, given his reckless, telegraphed, and easily blocked charges at Shadow during their fight, and it may be that Silver will only use physical combat as a desperate last resort.

Techniques and moves
Most of Silver's signature techniques and moves revolve around the use of his psychokinesis, which has a broad range of applications. His most of his offensive attacks involving using the objects around him as projectiles and discharging psychokinetic energies.

Silver's most used technique is his Psychokinesis, which lets him pick up objects around him for him to manipulate, and bend and move objects. His Levitate technique, which he uses to make himself airborne, increases his speed and movement abilities to levels matching those of the fastest and most agile characters in the series. Also, his Teleport Dash allows him to dash small distances at light speed.

With his Grab All technique, Silver can grab and manipulate everything around him or objects that come too close to him, and send them flying at his enemies. To throw objects with greater force while they are in his psychokinetic grab, Silver can use his Hold Smash and Psycho Smash to charge up his psychic energies and use them to throw objects at high velocities. Also, in Sonic Generations, Silver can perform a powerful attack called Meteor Smash, where he gathers a large ball of surrounding objects and launches it, after which it rolls along the ground, crushing anything in its path.

By channeling and manipulating his psychic energies, Silver can perform unique energy-based attacks, like his Psycho Shock and Psycho Smash that let him charge pulses of energy that can paralyze opponents and machinery, and with his Psychic Knife, Silver can form and throw a sharp and deadly blade of energy at the enemy. He can also perform his ESP move, which sends out a wave that attacks the minds of others, leaving them disorientated and confused.

In Sonic Rivals and Sonic Rivals 2, Silver is shown to utilize the Spin Attack where he curls tightly into a concussive ball while in locomotion to damage, mow down, or burrow through obstacles and foes. With the Spin Jump he attacks foes by landing on them, with the Spin Dash he curls up and shoots forward at high speed to break barriers or mow down enemies, and with the Homing Attack he homes in on an enemy to attack.

Miscellaneous
As seen during Dodon Pa's Grand Prix, Silver has excellent skills when it comes to driving and racing in racecars like the Lightron.

Transformations
Super Silver
By using all seven Chaos Emeralds, Silver can enter a Super State, transforming him into Super Silver. In this state, all of Silver's abilities far surpasses his normal ones, including his psychokinesis which has been greatly amplified. He is as well able to fly without his psychokinesis and is nearly invulnerable. However, this transformation consumes a lot of energy and requires Rings to be maintained.

Color Powers
By harnessing different variants of Hyper-go-on from Wisps, Silver can use specific Color Powers to transform into a certain form, such as a drill, a laser or even a planet, each one possessing its own unique abilities. So far, Silver has been able to transform into the Cyan Laser, Yellow Drill and Indigo Asteroid. However, these transformations require a steady supply of Hyper-go-on to be maintained.

Weaknesses
* Silver will lose his focus when using psychokinesis if he is caught off guard or hit by a surprise attack.
* If he overuses his psychokinesis, Silver can become extremely fatigued, and will need Rings to regain his energy. In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) exclusively, she has lived with him in his time period for a while. She works with Silver as a partner and because she is able to sense his flames, it is she who informs him when Iblis reincarnates. They constantly work together to beat the infant Iblis back into the lava from whence it came. Silver is also emotionally dependent upon Blaze; he becomes very insecure when alone, and it is usually Blaze who helps Silver back on his feet. Before she vanishes from their world at the end of Silver's story, Blaze reveals that she always liked Silver's naivete, leaving Silver deeply saddened after he is forced to seal her in another dimension. Ironically, while Silver's main enemy is a creature called the Flames of Disaster, and controls fire, Blaze also controls fire, which is why Iblis could be sealed inside Blaze.

In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Silver respects Blaze and looks to her for guidance, validation, and emotional support. He was also one of the few who did not tease Blaze about her pyrokinesis. Aside from that, they both share the same core desire to help others and bring evil to justice at any cost, and they both pursue their goals with unwavering determination. Because they share ideas and because Blaze's logical mind grounds Silver's more emotional one, she keeps him pointed in the general vicinity of the right direction. Her maturity and focus make up for Silver's immaturity and inexperience.

After the defeat of Solaris, the timeline was altered and it appears that Silver's encounter with Blaze was erased, leaving them with no personal relation or knowledge of each other.

Silver and Blaze reappear together in the DS version of Sonic Colors in the 3rd mission on the Sweet Mountain where Silver points out how their fighting styles are similar. While Silver was not able to recall his memories of his partnership with Blaze in Sonic the Hedgehog, he was able to recall the familiar feeling of having worked together with her. In Sonic Generations, Blaze and Silver can be seen talking to each other at Sonic's birthday party.

Even though the erasing of timelines left Silver and Blaze with limited personal knowledge of each other, references about their former partnership has been presented many times in the series after Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), such as in Sonic and the Black Knight where Sir Galahad and Sir Percival (Silver's and Blaze's counterparts) are described as companions and in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (DS version), where Silver and Blaze reappear together and challenge the player to a Ice Hockey and Dream Ice Hockey (Fever Hockey) game.

In Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games and Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Silver and Blaze have a unique gold medal pose if they work together in a team event.

In Team Sonic Racing, Silver and Blaze are on a team with Vector and they appear to have a close and friendly relationship. At one point in the story, Blaze becomes concerned when Silver starts to become weary of the race.

Sonic the Hedgehog
In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Sonic the Hedgehog is claimed by Mephiles to be the "Iblis Trigger" that set Iblis free years before Silver's time, thus dooming the world to ruin. Initially, Silver was bent on stopping Sonic from unleashing Iblis into the world, speaking of the "Iblis Trigger" with contempt. However, he found his resolve and hostility towards Sonic wavering after seeing the way that Amy revered him as a hero. He changed his mind entirely after Shadow explained that Mephiles lied to him about Sonic and seeing the Iblis' origin. He, therefore, helped Sonic through Kingdom Valley, and the two of them eventually befriended. Since Elise blew out the Flames of Disaster at the end of the game, Sonic and Silver never met during this adventure leaving them with no personal relation or knowledge of each other until later games in the series.

In Sonic Rivals, he and Sonic encounter each other for the first time. Sonic isn't fond of Silver's "attitude" when they meet and the two did not exactly see eye-to-eye, so they battle each other throughout the rest of the game. At the end of the game, though, Silver willingly teams up with Sonic and came to respectfully acknowledge his bravery. When they meet again in Sonic Rivals 2, Silver is again competitive towards Sonic and his partner, Tails. In these games, at least, Silver seems to find Sonic and his carefree attitude annoying, harboring an opinion of the blue hedgehog similar to Shadow's. It's likely that Sonic's apparent inability to take things seriously rubs Silver the wrong way.

In Sonic Generations, Silver's relationship with Sonic seems to have improved and is a lot friendlier. After he is convinced that Sonic is the real Sonic and not an imposter, Silver happily hands over his Chaos Emerald and, later, gladly accepts Sonic's challenges to a rematch, claiming that it should be fun. After time was restored, Silver, along with Shadow, shows up and celebrates at Sonic's birthday party. In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Silver, after being defeated in Cubyrinth, casually asked how Sonic was doing. This could mean that Silver only feels hostile towards Sonic when he worries that Sonic might interfere with his plans to save the future. In relaxed situations, the two seem to be friendly rivals.

In Sonic Forces, Silver's relationship with Sonic became stronger than ever when he teamed with Sonic's friends to protect the Earth from the Eggman Empire. He mourned but accepted the thought of Sonic might be dead at the time after it was learned he was defeated by Eggman's new lieutenant, Infinite. However, when Sonic was discovered to be alive and imprisoned on the rebuilt Death Egg, Silver aided in helping Sonic escape and teamed-up with him once more to win the War to Take Back the Planet.

Shadow the Hedgehog
The two first met in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), when Shadow stopped Silver, who mistook him for Mephiles, for from killing Sonic. After their fight, the two ventured back in time together using a dimensional rift to learn the truth about Iblis, Mephiles, and the Solaris Project.

Shadow the Hedgehog seems to be impressed by Silver's powers and his determination; most specifically how quickly he learns to induce Chaos Control. Keeping in mind that normally Shadow does not concern himself with other people and prefers to work alone, he takes Silver under his quills surprisingly easily when going into the past. At the same time, Silver seems slightly in awe of Shadow and by the end of their time together is much more mature.

Since the events of that game were erased, they did not canonically meet until Sonic Rivals. At first, Shadow did not trust Silver's speculations about Dr. Eggman's true identity. After realizing that he was right, the two helped each other in the Meteor Base. At the end of the game, Silver refers Shadow, and Sonic, as brave. In Sonic Rivals 2, however, they're not allies; they fight each other at some points and Silver was very vocal when warning Shadow not to get in his way. They also work together in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games to save Omochao and a Chao. In Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games they have a special winning animation, with Silver posing much more aggressively than usual in an interesting attempt to mimic Shadow's stance. While they have their differences, they work together well, and Silver admires and respects Shadow. In Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, they also have a winning animation where they acknowledge each other in a neutral way.

Amy Rose
In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Amy Rose mistook Silver for Sonic. Amy, who thought he was simply looking for someone, offered to help him if he would help her. Unable to deny her offer, Silver was dragged along with Amy unwillingly for a while, and found her a distraction, while Amy became his friend and promised to help him find the "Iblis Trigger". Eventually, though, Silver's helpful nature kicked in and he set aside his quest momentarily to help her search through Dusty Desert.

Silver's alliance with Amy ended up being only temporary, which ended once Silver found Sonic and tried to kill him. When Amy found out that Silver intended to kill Sonic, she left Silver, which disappointed him, he did seem as if he was going to call her back, but didn't upon realizing that it didn't matter, she would leave anyway. Strangely, when they meet again after Sonic dies and Mephiles and Iblis fuse, she bears no hard feelings towards him for his past actions and encourages him in the fight against Solaris. Because of what happens at the end of the game, Silver and Amy never met. In Sonic Forces, Silver was being optimistic and realistic with Amy about Sonic and Tails, and after having beaten Eggman's forces, they look at each other.

Espio the Chameleon
Espio the Chameleon appears to be one of Silver's closest friends. The two met only in Sonic Rivals 2. Before they met, Espio was given an assignment by Vector the Crocodile to find out information about the recent Chao disappearances. He began to investigate Silver, a prime suspect, which the hedgehog found annoying. Eventually, the two set aside their differences and teamed up in order to stop Eggman Nega and his plans. Once they completed their mission, the two bid each other farewell, in hopes of meeting each other again. In [Sonic Forces, they work in the Resistance together, with Espio agreeing with Silver that they will have to continue without Sonic and Tails.

Mephiles the Dark
In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Mephiles the Dark takes advantage of Silver's gullibility and frustration at the constant resurrection of Iblis to manipulate him into releasing the monster in the past. He informs Blaze and Silver that Sonic was the "Iblis Trigger", the one responsible for releasing the Iblis onto the world, and uses his powers to send them back in time in order to assassinate him. In reality, Sonic's death would serve as the catalyst. Silver initially believed Mephiles' lies with blind faith, but his encounter with Sonic and Amy began to make him question his intentions. Eventually, Silver lost all faith in him and viewed him as an enemy when he discovered the truth about Mephiles after travelling to the Solaris Project with Shadow.

Knuckles the Echidna
Silver and Knuckles have a small rivalry with each other. Normally, they don't pay much attention to each other, though they have had heated battles with one another occasionally. When Silver and Knuckles first met they were initially hostile to each other, but they later put aside their differences, and willingly teamed up together. In Sonic Forces, Knuckles was the first person Silver warned about Eggman's attack, which led to the War to Take Back the Planet. Silver seems to be one of Knuckles' most trusted lieutenants and they work well together.

Dr. Eggman Nega
Eggman Nega is Silver's arch-enemy. In Sonic Rivals, it is revealed that the two are enemies and are from the same future. Silver is one of the few characters in the game, and later on its sequel, that knows that Nega is actually disguising himself as Eggman. Silver battled Eggman Nega, however Nega's device malfunctioned, and he himself was turned into a card. They clash again in Sonic Rivals 2. According to Silver, he has been chasing Eggman Nega for a long time.

Tim Gadd is a Tasmanian-born furry. Despite his birthplace, he has little involvement with the Australian Fandom, which he found too conservative for his tastes. His online moniker, commonly used from the late 1990's, is Lupercal. This refers to the cave where Romulus and Remus were suckled by the She-Wolf before founding Rome, and also to an early poetry collection by Ted Hughes. It is also the Roman Holiday nowadays known as St. Valentines Day.

Gadd was largely responsible for conception and creation of alt.lifestyle.furry in 1996, where his libertarian views made him unpopular with some a.f.f. regulars in the mid 90's.

Gadd has written furry stories for Katmandu (a comic published in the USA by Shanda Fantasy Arts) and his own Bob's Demented Alsatian with illustrations by Bob Drake, with whom he has also collaborated musically on three CDs (Medallion Animal Carpet, The Skull Mailbox and Other Horrors and Caudevalle). His non-fiction published work includes analysis of the portrayal of animals in popular culture.

Gadd wrote and co-performed five radio serials featuring a mixture of 'furry' and human characters between 1990 and 1996 ('The Breakfast Machine', 'The Magic Sunfish', The Adventures of Ramsey the Reindeer', 'West' and 'Clutter'), and hosted an FM rock show between 1979 and 2000. A regular con-goer in the 90's and early 00's, an inner ear problem now prevents him from traveling. He has a postgraduate degree in English and his poetry has also been published.

As the furry fandom/subculture has been springboarded from the sci-fi and fantasy fandoms and their conventions, I think that the current influence of anime (and the capabilities of the Internet) will, if anything else, bring the furry fandom into the realm of animation, with many animation artists usurping the prominent roles of the comics and stills artists who have long dominated the furry visual media.

This will be mostly enabled with the usage of the following techniques:

* Machinima and other 3D recordings of posable/scriptable 3D models
* Flash animation and other 2D recordings of scriptable/drawable 2D avatars.

Kermit the Frog

2020-02-08T19:56:59Z

SockyNoob: Corrected missing hyperlinks in words to point to Wikipedia.

Kermit the Frog, arguably Jim Henson's most famous Muppet creation, was the star and host of The Muppet Show, played a significant role on Sesame Street, and served as the logo/mascot of The Jim Henson Company. He continues to star in Muppet movies and make numerous TV appearances.

Kermit has commented on many occasions that he grew up with thousands of siblings, and has talked infrequently about other members of his family. More of his childhood adventures were chronicled in Kermit's Swamp Years. Robin is Kermit's nephew and closest relative.

As a running joke in the shows and movies, Kermit was pursued by leading lady Miss Piggy. Miss Piggy insists that she and Kermit got married in The Muppets Take Manhattan, however Kermit disagrees, claiming that it was just a movie and that in real life, they have a "professional relationship".

Character origins
The earliest version of Kermit first appeared in 1955 on Sam and Friends, Jim Henson's five-minute puppet show that aired twice daily on WRC-TV. Henson made the first Kermit puppet out of his mother's old spring coat, using ping-pong balls for eyes.

Kermit wasn't a frog in the early days of the character. Although he was somewhat lizard-like in appearance, Jim Henson noted in a 1982 interview that "all the characters in those days were abstract."

Kermit first referred to himself as a frog in The Muppets On Puppets, a one-hour special that Henson produced for public television in 1968. However, it was not until the TV special Hey Cinderella! that the Kermit puppet was redesigned; his round feet were replaced with flippers, and he was given an eleven-pointed collar. By the time that Kermit appeared on the premiere of Sesame Street in November 1969, he was a full-fledged frog.

Kermit on Sesame Street
Kermit's most famous role on Sesame Street is his role as a news reporter for the Sesame Street News Flash segments, interviewing characters from nursery rhymes and fairy tales. One of his most memorable works on the show was the song "Bein' Green."

Unlike other Sesame Street characters, Sesame Workshop never had any ownership of Kermit the Frog. Because of this, Kermit has rarely been part of Sesame Street merchandise. He has appeared in many Sesame Street videos, most notably Big Bird's Storytime and, of course, The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street. His songs have also appeared on many Sesame Street albums. The only Kermit toy that was labeled as a Sesame Street toy was the Magic Talking Kermit toy, released in 1999. In 2005, he appeared on a Sesame Street winter hat by Berkshire Fashions.

Interestingly enough, in 1970, Kermit the Frog was intended to be dropped from Sesame Street, only to be shown in the second season in existing segments. "When the new season starts November 9, expect changes. There will be no more know-it-all frog, since Kermit, the one Muppet who is not exclusive to Sesame Street, is opting out to do commercials" (Look, Sept. 22, 1970). Time Magazine reported with slightly more detail: "Kermit the Frog is being canned for commercialism. When Sesame Street was just a glint in Joan Ganz Cooney's eye, Kermit taped a special in Canada. When it was given a network airing, the frog was compromised. Or so Henson decided. .... He is being phased out of the show. He will be replaced by such Muppets as Herbert Birdsfoot and Sherlock Hemlock" (Time, November 23, 1970). Ultimately, of course, that did not turn out to be the case, as Kermit reappeared as a Sesame Street character in the third season (1971).

Specials
Kermit has appeared in almost every major special from The Jim Henson Company. He had a fairly major supporting role in Hey Cinderella, had a major role in The Frog Prince, and narrated Tales of the Tinkerdee, The Muppet Musicians of Bremen, Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, The Christmas Toy, and Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree.

However, when The Muppet Show was in development, Kermit was not intended to be the main character. In The Muppet Valentine Show, he had a major supporting role, and starred in two sketches, but the main character for that special was Wally. In The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence, Kermit appeared in the audience during the wrestling sketches, and had one line in "At the Dance." After that special was made, Jim Henson realized that the pilot's host, Nigel the Conductor, was not working out as a main character, and it was suggested to Henson that Kermit be the star instead.

Since Kermit was the main character on The Muppet Show, it makes sense that he appeared in every special relating to The Muppet Show, usually as the main character. In The Fantastic Miss Piggy Show, he had the job of being the director of the special.

The Muppet Show
Kermit became a star when he hosted The Muppet Show, acting as the host and the person ultimately in charge of what went on during the show. During the first season, it seemed as if he treated his fellow cast and crew members more like employees, but later on, as the characters developed, it became clear that they were his friends as well.

In addition to hosting, Kermit regularly got to chat with the guest stars and even duet with the likes of Linda Ronstadt, Connie Stevens, Andy Williams, and Debbie Harry.

Being the main character, Kermit also interacted with most of the main cast of the show. He was often pursued by Miss Piggy, who made no secret of her love for him, but Kermit generally rebuffed her advances. Although Piggy loved him, that didn't stop her from karate-chopping him whenever she got mad at him.

He was also good friends with Fozzie Bear. They have appeared together in acts and Kermit has reluctantly joined Fozzie for some of his monologues, such as "Good Grief! The Comedians a Bear!" and Fozzie's phrenmology act.

Although he generally functions as the "normal" and calm center of the show, at times Kermit would panic or become annoyed and frustrated with the chaos around him.

Movies, Cartoons and Muppets Tonight
For the first three Muppet motion pictures, Kermit was very much the protagonist. His role as a leader, first established on The Muppet Show, was perpetuated in the movies as well.

Kermit appeared in animated form on Muppet Babies, where Baby Kermit was an adventurous baby with an active imagination, much like his fellow nursery-mates. A few of his imagined identities were Kermo Polo, Luke Skyhopper, Indiana Frog, and Charlie Brown.

On Muppets Tonight, Kermit was the producer instead of the host. However, Kermit was still a major character on the series and appeared in many sketches and duets.

Changing Performers
After Jim Henson died, Steve Whitmire took over as Kermit. Whitmire's first performance as Kermit was in The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson. Kermit appeared at the end of that special. For the next few years, Kermit's function in Muppet productions turned towards functioning as either narrator or in supporting roles, observing or commenting on the action but rarely as the central focus or starting point of the plot. On Muppets Tonight, though Kermit still introduced the guests, he usually played a more detached role, as producer.

Jane Henson reflected on the recasting, in a 1990 interview: "Steve Whitmire as Kermit: "When Jim was alive, he said if anything happened to him, Kermit must go on right away. Because of Kermit's significant place, Jim had essentially chosen who he thought could do it. But we don't want to say who it is before the show. The performer needs time. Kermit won't come back so strong at first. Then little by little, he will get his whole personality back."

Awards and Honors
* He was awarded an honorary doctorate of Amphibious Letters on May 19, 1996 at Southampton College, where he also gave a commencement speech.

Lugaru: The Rabbit's Foot is the first commercial video game created by Wolfire Games. It is a cross-platform, 3D action adventure game for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux. It features Turner, an anthropomorphic rabbit with curiously well-developed combat skills.

Lugaru was made almost solely by David Rosen, including the game engine, models, animations and story. It was one of the first independently-produced video games to employ ragdoll physics. It uses a new and fairly intuitive combat system, basing attacks and counters on timing and context rather than different key combinations. It tended to be well-reviewed and was fairly well-received among the shareware community, especially among Mac users. Tim Soret would later improve the games textures, and Wolfire currently sells this version as Lugaru HD.

The name Lugaru is a phonetic spelling of "loup-garou", which is French for werewolf. The word "Lugaru" is commonly pronounced as loogaroo.

David Rosen has announced that Overgrowth will be the sequel to Lugaru.

Story
After his family and friends are murdered by rabbit raiders, Turner embarks on a quest of revenge, only to uncover a deeper plot that threatens the entire Lugaru island. The wolves from a nearby island killed all of the rabbits who lived there, and have come to Turner's to find more food. Not wanting to make the same mistakes as before, they plan to enslave the rabbit kingdom rather than randomly attacking any that they meet as they usually do. That way they can conserve their food supply. The rabbit king Hickory has agreed to this takeover, providing that the wolves do not harm him. To secure the deal, he sent Jack, one of his loyal servants, to trick Turner into killing the rabbit raiders as they would be the only real resistance that the wolves would have to their control.

After learning the terrible truth, Turner confronts the rabbit king and takes power in a bloodless coup. He then vows to the other rabbits that he will meet with the Alpha wolf, and if need be, kill him. Using a wide variety of combat techniques, Turner then battles wolves and hostile rabbits across grassland, snow, and desert landscapes. Hickory sets a trap to try and stop Turner before he reaches him, but Turner is able to defeat the three wolf assassins and is then able to kill the rabbit king himself. Bolstered by his recent victories, he finally reaches Ash, the alpha wolf. He warns that if Turner defeats him it would mean ruin for the rabbits as they would overpopulate and starve without the wolves enforcing the natural order. Turner refuses to listen, and manages to successfully overpower Ash and defeat him. After this he returns to the other rabbits, where he is offered the chance to be king. Turner feels he is not up to governing, and decides he will spend the rest of his life wandering and trying to find a purpose again.

Gameplay
Hand-to-hand combat comprises most of Lugaru's gameplay, although the game rewards stealthy approaches. The fighting system is based largely around close combat, and in many cases incorporates knives, swords, and bo staves. The player can also perform disarms, reversals, and counter-reversals.

With no HUD, the player must rely on visual cues to determine Turner's health; most notably the character's posture and the darkness and blurred vision.

The combat control is original as well, since there are only three context-sensitive action buttons, which puts emphasis on fast-paced action rather than complicated button combos: one attack button, a jump button, and a more general crouch-reverse button.

The game can be played in campaign mode, which includes mission specific objectives and storyline, as
well as a "challenge" mode, which involves the player progressing through a series of fourteen maps with the goal of clearing them of all hostile creatures. There is also an interactive tutorial.

Weapons
Weapons are essential to fighting in this game and each have particular advantages and disadvantages. The knife can be thrown and a character can carry two of them, but it is the weakest weapon of the three. The sword is very powerful and fast, but it is hard to find and incredibly easy to disarm. The staff is the strongest of the three, and can easily kill an enemy when it is down. However, the staff can break and can easily be reversed.

Modifications
Lugaru also has a number of mods made by the many fans of the game. You can choose to download the "Lugaru Downloader" which gives you a list of all the Fan-made mods so far. Lugaru Downloader also extracts and backs up the files and installs the mod automatically, rather than forcing users to back up files themselves and risk errors and glitches. The Wolfire forums for a link and information, and the website with the download link and info.

Advanced modding, namely modifying skeletons to work custom animated characters into the game, 3D Model customization, animation editing and map editing have been made possible by reverse-engineering the file formats and writing Python plugins for Blender. An overview of all modification resources, done modifications and how-to documentation can be found in this thread on the Wolfire forums.

After the games success as part of the Humble Indie Bundle, on May 11, 2010 Wolfire released the source code of [[W:Ryan C. Gordon|Ryan C. Akili Kota or just Akili, formerly known as Chaos Akili (real name Russell), is a furry fan.

Fandom involvement
Akili does not maintain a social network presence, but regularly attends Further Confusion since 2001. Though Akili has an account on FlipSide as of 2015, his active role playing there ended thereabouts of 2005, due to changes in Nafse's real-life availability and subsequent resignation from roleplaying.

Akili is reachable on his personal muck server, which is open to the public.

Characters
* Mikini - A female lioness. Inherited from Shiido in the vicinity of 1998, she grew into a primary character after Akili's death.
* Katiana and Kifana - Female lionesses. Created on November 19th, 2006. Both are daughters of Mikini, with Tahzhoo acting as their father.

Former characters
* Akili - Akili was a Lion created on The Lion King MUCK on November 26, 1996. As mentioned on the TLKMuck page, male lions were heavily restricted, and it was encouraged - if not required - for all new lions to start as cubs. To save time, Akili was not born into an existing pride, and instead started his story by being rescued and adopted by Gesten as a cub of approximately three months of age. Prides were not registered at this time, and Life Valley - the home of Gesten, his mate Jiona, Akili, and later subsequent members - was comparable to any other prides of the era.

:Akili's real parents were Matego and Saranya, both of whom made appearances during his life on TLKM. However, Akili disowned that father in favor of Gesten. He considers both Saranya and Jiona as mothers, although both are deceased in the Pridelands. As family lines included adoption, Akili has a wide range of family as a result of his adoption, the full details of which are available at Nalia's Family, an online site for the largest family tree on TLKM. Eventually becoming King of the Life Valley Pride after Gesten, he fathered four cubs with Nafse. As of 2015, only one daughter, Azizi, is still active on TLKM.

:Akili's roleplaying was primarily moved to Flipside MUCK on or around August 1, 2001 due to complications arising from changes in the MUCK's administration, although his character account remained active. Akili officially died in the Pridelands on January 24th, 2002 , and was toaded by request on TLKM on January 31, 2002.

:An attempt to chronicle Akili's life on his personal page is still in progress at Akili's History, though that project may never be fully completed.

* Kinsala - A female lioness, daughter of Mtunga.
* Siku - A male leopard, son of Nabuk and Sukari. As Siku, Akili was elevated to a Wizard administrative role on August 30, 2000.cn (MUCK logs are hard to use as citations) Siku had been solicited for the position on July 24th, 2000cn, though it was not made clear at either time that the extant Wizard staff of the era (excluding Lea, who was the next-newest member to Siku), was going to resign once Siku accepted the position. As Siku expected to be assisting the established wizards, rather than taking over in part for them, he was unprepared for the impact it had upon his life and his ability to continue roleplaying his other characters. Eventually concluding that he could not balance the two demands without slighting one side over the other, and with additional real life turmoil, Siku resigned from the staff on July 29, 2001.cn

Biography
Since he was 15 ½ Asher had been living on his own, meaning not with any members of his family. He left due to a long line of family troubles; the relationship he had with his parents were extremely strained, eventually causing him to move out of his dad's at the age of 13 as he just started high school, and then after living with his mom full time for a few months he decided it was best to move away from her as well. Towards the end, he had rekindled the relationship with his mom slowly. He had two brothers, one of which he talked to on a semi-regular basis and played Xbox with.

As a young teen, he took up smoking marijuana to help him cope with his handicaps, as well as his home life from the age of 13. Asher had a long-standing relationship with a fox furry fan by the name of Kazuma, up until June of 2010. After that he tried another unsuccessful long-distance relationship by being with a Canadian Wusky by the name of Jakesparrow0 (Stevey). The two broke up in August of 2010 due to a lack in interest on one's part in getting motivated to do anything. In the end, Asher was in a relationship with a local non-furry, and the two share a condo together in Oregon with their puppy.

Death
As of 2016, Asher's Furaffinity page is marked as deceased, with last known activity roughly one year prior.

Fandom involvement
Asher had been in the fandom since around 2004, first learning of it by stumbling upon a furry porn site. He had yet to be active in the fandom, save from local furmeets and socializing around the FurAffinity and SoFurry sites. He did write both poetry and stories (for fun as well as gifts/trades) to his friends. He had revived his old LiveJournal, utilizing it for a friend-only semi-daily updated blog. In 2009 he started posting his stories on SoFurry.

He had two series going that he starting posting to SoFurry in 2009; one is called Running From Lions, the other The Tears You Knew You'd Cry. One of the things he'd been striving for was to attend an actual furry convention, such as RainFurrest or even Anthrocon one day.

Fursona
Asher Heike's fursona was a reddish tan red fox

Controversy
Between December 2012 through January 2013, friends of the artist Fluke decided to post "they missed him since his tragic death" fake shouts on his user page, posted only to heckle Fluke for the sake of humor. Causes of death ranged wildly from a vicious maiming art accident to a quiet passing in the night, like a soft breeze.

Asher, feeling as though it was his duty to protect Fluke as well as all of the poor furries who don't know any better,cn launched an anti-slander campaign against these lies and rumors, advocating that people not "buy into the rumor mill."cn

When he was told to chill out,cn that it was all fun and games, he responded with nasty name calling and threats of administrative action, blocking the person(s) who confronted him, whilst continuing his crusade, going so far as to post a journalcn stating that "Fluke is just done with the furry part of his life for now", citing his possession of Fluke's gamer-tag as proof.clarify

Asher was then banned for harassment for at least a week. The very next day he tried to continue his harassment via another account of his, posing as a friend of Asher, under the account name dastoonafawx. He was summarily suspended on that account, as well as his Gaijin2500 account. He was removed from Fluke's Xbox Live friends list.cn

Selkit, better known as Selkit Diller on Second Life, is FurNation's head builder on Worlds. Also known in the fandom as Selkit Grayfox, he is one of the Barbarian Furs, a group of fursuiters known for dressing in suits of armor.

Selkit helped co-found the FurNation Worlds project alongside Nexxus Ambassador, Rackett Ambassador, Cobalt Neutra, Inferniel Solvang and others. His original role was as master builder for the FurNation sims, producing structures ranging from the Luxor to the FurNation bath-house. He also performed major terraforming work to the land to help fit structural arrangements into Nexxus Ambassador's original plans. Selkit's building skills raised $L25,000 (about US$83) in a July 2006 FurNation Tail Sale, and $L15,000 in the previous one. As of January 2007 he had raised more than L$200,000 (over US$800) from private projects.

In 2007, Selkit changed his preferred avatar to a ferret. He was theming lead for 2015.

Mississippi Anthropomorphics

2020-02-08T17:48:42Z

SockyNoob: Added year when group ownership transferred over a second time and removed stub tag.

Mississippi Anthropomorphics, shortened to MS Anthro, is a regional furry group for the state of Mississippi, USA.

History
MS Anthro, which is not related to the now defunct MAP!, was created due to the lack of an active place for furries in Mississippi to socialize by Gale Smilax and Fenix Archer in 2014. Originally, the group was mainly for furries attending Mississippi State University. Meets were posted on their website as well as on the group's Facebook, both of which were created in 2014.

The website didn't catch on very well as the last post was made in December 2014. The Facebook page stopped posting updates in December 2018 due to the lack of people using the page for attending events.

General
The group was originally headed by Gale Smilax, who ran it until July 2016 when she moved out of the state. The group's leadership was transferred to MEDS, who ran the group until he moved to Texas in 2019. After MEDS had taken over the group, he reorganized the group into a state-wide furry group rather than being specifically for furries attending Mississippi State University. He also created the group's Telegram chat in 2016, which is now the only active place the group communicates in. While he's still the main admin, Fenix Archer has been put in charge of leading the group's future meets and is the only other admin for the group.

Due to the fact that MS Anthro is a state-wide group, there's not a lot of furmeets hosted by the group itself anymore, but rather there are meets in the other groups located in the state. MS Anthro does have meets at furry conventions that are closest to the state, however.

While there are groups specifically for some of the bigger towns and cities in central and north Mississippi, many furries in the state rely on MS Anthro due to the fact that north and central Mississippi are very sparsely populated and spread apart. The vast majority of furries in the group live in Oxford, Starkville, and South Mississippi.

Retrieved February 7, 2020.</ref> While he's still the main admin, Fenix Archer has been put in charge of leading the group's future meets and is the only other admin for the group.

Savannah Furs

2020-02-07T22:16:49Z

SockyNoob: Cleaned up page to meet modern Wikifur standards.

Savannah Furs was a mailing list for furries located in Savannah, Georgia, U.S.A. It was headed by p0rtwolf, Blair Kanine, Sebboh Maluhia, and Jovee Husky. It is now defunct, and since 2011, Savannimals and SCADFurs have both become centers of furry activity in Savannah. On 2016 October 31, the LiveJournal still existed with the Yahoo! group and Meetup both deleted.

Savannimals

2020-02-07T22:04:54Z

SockyNoob: Fixed grammar and punctuation, reorganized sections, linked words to Wikipedia and Wikifur, fixed external links, and cleaned up page to meet modern Wikifur standards.

Savannimals, a portmanteau consisting of the city of Savannah, GA and "animals", referring to the group being run by, and including, furries, is a regional furry group based in Savannah, GA that includes other cities in Georgia and South Carolina due to their proximity.

History
After the majority of members involved in Savannah Furs moved away or became less active, the Southern Comfurt group was formed. Events were small and infrequent, often including get-togethers at member's houses or apartments, or furmeets at the Oglethorpe Mall. The name Savannimals was coined by Toraie and a friend in 2011 after core members of Southern Comfurt moved away. However, it did not catch on until 2012, after a particularly well-attended River Street Fur Meet event.

The name Savannimals has received similar positive and negative feedback in that it is "punny," yet conveys the playful attitude of fursuiters and casual atmosphere the events provide.

General
Statesboro, Hinesville/Ft. Stewart, and Hardeeville, SC all have members of Savannimals, and events have been held in many nearby locations. Some events are held in coordination with SCADFurs, but these are limited to off-campus events due to SCADFurs' status as a student organization/club. The group's events used to be posted and updated on FurAffinity, but due to the site's waning popularity, events have largely been moved to the group's Facebook page and their Telegram.

Events
There has since been constant activities, mainly organized by Toraie, ranging from small home parties to fursuit walks on River Street. These fursuit walks are often held on the First Saturday crafts festival downtown and are well-attended due to the proximity to SCAD campus and ease of set-up. Events are held monthly year-round but fursuiting events are generally only held from November to May because of the hot, humid summer weather.

Notable meets
Savannimals organizes, and are known for hosting, a variety of meets, not limited to just bowling or dinner. Often, they arrange carpools for those without transportation or hold events in a central location so those walking are able to attend. Screamin' Mimi's, a New Jersey-style pizza and subs restaurant, has been the host of many Savannimals events (particularly the River Street Fur Meet) since 2010, because of its free parking, outside seating, and affordable prices.

MobiFurs

2020-02-07T21:23:43Z

SockyNoob: Added info of neighboring groups, expanded info about GnG, and linked words to Wikifur and Wikipedia.

MobiFurs is a regional furry group for Mobile, Alabama, USA and the surrounding area.

Sherbert was created by K-LINE for their Showcase series, and Sherbert is commonly known for suiting up as him at conventions starting with Midwest FurFest 2016. He also created an anime and manga featuring Sherbert as well. In April 2019, Sherbert debuted a new K-LINE suit, named Razu, while in livestream. Razu is a pink kemono-style rabbit, and has started appearing in videos on his Youtube channel.

YouTube
Sherbert has been on YouTube since September 5, 2014. He mainly does comedy as well as videos about his travel experiences in Japan, music videos, convention videos, and live streams. Talk:MAP!

2020-02-05T23:31:56Z

SockyNoob: Responded to Spirou

If possible, I would like to merge the two pages. However, I'm not sure how to do so whilst conforming to Wikia format. Is there a specifc help page with instruction on how to do this? Thanks for mentioning it.

JarekoJosh 14:30, 28 April 2008 (UTC)JarekoJosh

Is it possible for a Wikifur admin to delete this redirect page so Mississippi Anthropomorphics can be moved to MAP! so I can move MS Anthro to Mississippi Anthropomorphics? The reason is simple. Nobody I know who was in MAP! even associates Mississippi Anthro with MAP!. They associate it with the modern group MS Anthro which just so happens to share the same name, but are otherwise completely different and nearly 10 years apart and ran by different people in a different region. They're not the same group and combining the two pages into one would make little sense. You can see how in all media of MAP!, the logo says MAP!. So it'd make total sense to move it here so Mississippi Anthropomorphics can be the page of the modern and active group. So basically all I'm asking is that the old group is transferred here and the new group is transferred to the old group's page. It's something I can't do as a regular user due to the fact that this redirect page has edit history as it used to be the page for Mississippi Anthro until the two were merged. It'd be a really helpful change so Google results point to the active furry group rather than a long dead, 10+ year old group that the majority of people who were in it don't even live in the state anymore. Thanks. User:SockyNoob 14:41, 5 February 2020.

To SockyNoob and WikiFur Admin from JarekoJosh 15:04 Wed05Jan2020 -
Please, by all means, allow MS Anthro to use the name Mississippi Anthropomorphics and delete MAP! (unless MS Anthro wishes to use it as well). I had completely forgotten about this page and it is not right for it to take up space and create confusion if another community group would like/needs to use it. Along with others, I created the original MAP! page and its supporting iconography and verbage. Such things are long defunct and I have archived them. I do not know how to operate within WikiFur well enough to make the change myself if I am even able to do so or I would. Please appeal via email if necessary and I will gladly facilitate. Thank you!

I'd still like for MAP! to be on this site. There's no sense in completely erasing it from existence. Just have it on the MAP! page and have the new group on the page recently blanked out. I'm very much interested in the history of groups/events/etc and I think it's worth remembering. If you can contribute to that page in any way like recalling anything else you used to do or when or why it disbanded, please share it on that page! It's always nice to see what once was. One of the admins of my group, South Mississippi Furry Association, apparently attended meets with you guys way back then so he's basically the only person I know with info from back then. It's just crazy to see that back then there were TONS of furries from Hattiesburg and now I only know a handful from there and the rest are on the coast or attending Mississippi State University. So yeah, I'm definitely gonna paste the old page into MAP! and turn MS Anthro into a redirect page. Thanks for being basically the pioneers for furmeets here! :D User:SockyNoob 15:20, 5 February 2020 (CST).

Also let me know if you mind me using your old images while pasting the old page into MAP!. I don't want any copyright issues. User:SockyNoob 15:30, 5 February 2020 (CST).
:@work on mobile, will look up your request after hours when returning home. - Spirou (talk) 18:23, 5 February 2020 (EST)

I think we have it good now. The only thing that really needs deleting now is the redirect page MS Anthro as MAP! is now the old group and Mississippi Anthropomorphics has been converted to the new group. User:SockyNoob 17:30, 5 February 2020 (CST).

MAP!

2020-02-05T22:47:09Z

SockyNoob: Readded gallery photos as apparently the copyright on them is expired or public use, according to Wikifur. Also reorganized sections to be more consistent with modern Wikifur standards.
