Shirik:

Bio
Shirik Draguinea is a Welsh furry artist who lives in Exeter in the United Kingdom. She is in a long-term relationship with Kitt Spidox and the pair got engaged live on stage at Eurofurence 13.

She has been actively involved in the fandom since 1998: attending furmeets, role-playing and submitting artwork to several galleries. During this time she has been known under a few different aliases including LadyNaoko and Shikky and has had a few fursona changes over the years. However, she has been drawing furry art for many years before this: the first two characters she can recall are Tiffany, a fox girl character from the Sonic universe and Blade, a wolf character from the Mortal Kombat universe. She still owns sketchpads dating back to 1994 with furry artwork in them.

Shirik enjoys to travel and one day hopes to be able to visit Japan, America and hopefully Africa. Currently despite many hours of traveling around her home country, she has only left the UK once in her lifetime in order to go to Eurofurence 13.

She is an avid animal lover and has always had pets of some sort, ranging from aquatics to felines. Currently she shares her home with a pair of female rats but has several other pets which are currently located at her parents home including a pair of female guinea pigs, a cat and two large aquatic setups.

Shirik is also a fan of manga, anime and cosplay. She owns a large collection of DVDs and paraphernalia for several series.

Fursona
[[Image:ShirikGPigs by Xainy.jpg|thumb|Shirik relaxes with some guinea pigs. Originally the character was a standard guinea pig by the name of "Shikky" but after a few years, Shirik decided to add the dragon element to the character and create a new character from the hybridization. As Shikky was the original base for Shirik, she often says she was "hiding out" as a guinea pig before coming out of the closet and revealing herself as a hybrid character.

Originally, Shirik was always drawn as a non anthro character until one day the artist herself decided to draw an anthro version of her. She also owns another partial fursuit, a white wolf by the name of L based on the manga character from Death Note which was made by Roleplaywulf in 2007.

As well as partial suits she has also owned a variety of smaller pieces over the years such as tails, horns, paws and ears.

Shirik has been nominated to take part in Fandom's Favorite Fursuit Fracas 2008, a tournament held online to vote for the most popular fursuits in the fandom.

Fursona
Her fursona is a grey and tan Dragon/Guinea Pig-mix known as a Draguinea.

She still gets drawn as a non anthro character from time to time but as most know Shirik as an anthropomorphic character that is the form she is primarily seen as in role-play sessions as well as artwork.

You can see her description here.

Conventions and furmeets
At conventions she wears a partial fursuit built by B3 Productions.
Shirik:

The Furtean Times is an Internet fanzine created for and about the furry fandom by Tori Belliachi (aka Shaun Hargreaves) in January 2007. The magazine, its title parodying The Fortean Times, a publication focusing on surreal phenomena, was released on 25th March, 2007 with new issues released quarterly. The magazine is managed by a parent company by the name of Furry Media International, a not-for-profit media group also ran by Belliachi. The Furtean Times is a British fanzine, with all of the staff and a majority of the contributors coming from England.

Staff
This list contains the permanent staff, as well as regular contributors to the fanzine.
* Tori Belliachi Editor, Head of Design
* Diesel Leon Deputy Editor, Staff Writer (currently on extended leave)
* The Chained Wolf Columnist

Origins
The formation of the magazine was started via the InflatioNation forums in early 2007, where Belliachi revealed an interest to start an Internet-based magazine for the furry fandom, having previous experience in putting together similar publications in the past. Diesel Leon originally started life at the Furtean Times as a Staff Writer, but was offered the then-vacant position of Deputy Editor by Belliachi.

After complaints that the first edition was simply a pile of images on a page (making it very hard to use) and the second edition already partially in this format, a new stance was approached - putting content and ease of use ahead of design. However as time has passed then the concepts of design have crawled back into the fanzine, with each edition having an individual look and feel to it, usually matching that issue's theme.

Probably the fanzine's proudest moment to date was its inclusion in the Ursa Major Awards 2007 Recommended Reading List; however - despite a few votes - it failed to be nominated for the final awards.

Issues
{{:User:Robomilk/FTtemplate
|ishnumb = 1
|ishthem = The British Are Coming!
|release = 25 March 2007
|authors = Tori Belliachi, Diesel Leon, Cyan, Ember Komodog, Jace
|artists = Cooner, Fox, Kbryme
|summary = The first issue, entitled The British Are Coming!, was about the growth of the furry fandom in Britain.
