Sargeabernathy:

Will the real Kryphos Adanthios please stand up, please stand up, please stand up! 24.210.46.125

There's no mention of Kryphos being the sexiest dragon alive in this entry. Should write that out and reference the provided image as a source. Sargeabernathy 21:07, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Fandom's Favorite Fursuit Fracas

FFFF
The Fandom's Favorite Fursuit Fracas is a tournament for fursuits, organized by Exile Huscoon, Rhett Foxcoon, Seddel Cougar, and Sarge Abernathy. The tournament was created to showcase different fursuiters and fursuit makers that may not be as well known to the general furry populus. Voting is performed between nominated fursuits on the LiveJournal community fursuittourney and is carried out via a bracket format, with polls usually scheduled on Monday and Thursday afternoons.

As the contestants are fursuits and not fursuiters, several suiters have entered two or more of their own suits into the competiton, provided they nominate an equal amount of suits that they do not own; Magnus Diridian nominated 23 of his fursuits in this manner for the 2008 tournament. In addition, all nominated fursuits must be approved for use in the competition by their respective owners. A suit can be withdrawn from the competition by its owner before the final bracket is brought into play.

As a rule, the suit that wins the competition will not be allowed to compete ever again; contestants that make the Final 16 but do not win are still eligible to compete.

Entrants are then randomly assigned to 16 different brackets, known as "regions", with the winners of each region advancing to the Final 16 bracket. From 2008 onward, preliminary matches, also randomly assigned, were held to narrow the competition down to 256 fursuits to fit the bracket.

2007
Fandom's Favorite Fursuit Fracas 2007
The first annual Fracas featured 176 participants and ran from June to September of its respective year. Frazzle won the tournament, beating second place contestant Sophie Cabra by 13 votes. Takala and Lucky Coyote rounded out the top four. Over 250 people voted in the final round.

2008
Fandom's Favorite Fursuit Fracas 2008
The second annual Fracas featured 295 participants and ran from May to August of that year. Due to the sheer size of the entries, a preliminary round was conducted in April to narrow the field down to 256 competitors to fit the bracket. The tournament's first ever tie came between Griefer and Junip Hyena, leading to a three-way battle between them and Beetlecat's RedXIII; Griefer prevailed by only 13 votes. Jäger would go on to defeat Griefer and take the winner's title. Over 500 people voted in the final round. Takala once again made the final four, alongside Neo PanTyger.

2009
Fandom's Favorite Fursuit Fracas 2009
Nominations for the third annual Fracas began on Sunday, March 1. The nomination process took just over a month, ending on Friday, April 3 at 11:59pm ET. A list of 326 nominated fursuits was announced soon afterward. Nominees will be notified via e-mail and will have until about May 3 to withdraw if they choose. Voting will begin shortly thereafter.

Criticism
FFFF has received criticism from several in the fursuiting community, labelling it a popularity contest with newer, more fanciful fursuits nearly guaranteed to win. Several fursuiters have chosen not to participate in response, vetoing any nominations for their suits to appear in the tournament. As a result, for the second Fracas in 2008, it was made clear to place a vote based not only on the appearance of the suit, but also on its character, individuality and performance.

The 2007 brackets, named after the 16 most nominated fursuits, also received some allegations of favoritism. For 2008, they were designated by the 16 teams in the 1973-1974 NHL season to avoid any misinterpretation.
