Rihanna-chan (リハンナちゃん) is an American author fluent in Japanese. She is known for her ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog]]'' doujinshi ''SonikkuQ'' (''ソニックQ'') and her ''Mobius Redrawn'' Sonic universe.

==History==
She was born in New Jersey as Danielle Pluzsik in 2002. Growing up, she liked ''Sonic the Hedgehog'', ''Garfield'', and ''Arthur'', as well as ''SpongeBob SquarePants''. When she was 8 in 2011, she discovered ''Touhou'' and this got her into Japanese culture and anime.

==The big hit==
In January 2018 when she was 15, Danielle drew a manga based on the episode of the Sonic the Hedgehog series where Sonic lost his memory. She rewrote the story so that Sonic stumbled into Setagaya-ku instead and became adopted by a little girl named Claire Kawaguchi. Sonic doesn't know who he is everytime he wakes up, says he's tired and needs a nap, and doesn't know where his house is, but Claire still loves him. She introduces him to her friend Scott Evil (stylized as scott evil), and together they turn Sonic into a Mahou Shonen (Magical Boy) hero. A sub-arc is present about Claire and Scott heading to Atlantic City to find their parents.
Danielle based the manga off Powerpuff Girls, since she found Sonic's eyes reminiscent of the eyes of the Girls. The works of Margaret Keane were also a huge influence. Sonic's backpack is useless throughout the entire series but he has it on for the cute appeal.

The first chapter was posted on DeviantArt, Furry4Life, and FurAffinity in late January, and became widely-received. "Dai-Ichi-Dan" was finished by May and got a physical release courtsey of Dark Horse Comics, with Sega's approval. The first line of SonikkuQ plushies were sold on Etsy. Setsunakou created her own line, including Claire and Scott, and sold those on her site.

==Anime==
In August 2019, SonikkuQ was adapted into an anime by SHAFT, sponsored by Sega and DiC, and announced for a winter release. The anime premiered December 1st. Internet personality Bill Wurtz had a hand in developing the series, and he composed the music and contributed to the animation and effects. Rihanna-chan wrote the episodes "ソニックの悪夢" and "子供の日".

In March 2020, the Funimation and Blumvox Studios-produced English dub premiered on Cartoon Network's weekday evening slot, and channel-hopped to ABC's Saturday morning line-up a few times, being the only cartoon to air (probably as an homage to the original Sonic series.) Rihanna-chan (under her real name) voiced Claire Kawaguchi, Steven Blum voiced Scott Evil, and Jaleel White voiced Sonic. In season 2 of the dub, the companies succesfully negotiated Rihanna herself into playing Claire.

==Other works==
Rihanna-chan, under Danielle Pluzsik, has done the Mobius Redrawn universe. Under Rihanna-chan, she's developed the game ''Presented in Technicolor'', which many view as similar to ''Cuphead'', even though it's based on ''Darkwing Duck''. She released a spiritual successor, ''PANCT!'', the following year, which takes notes from other Disney Afternoon cartoons.

She posted a "found footage" film called ''Saturn'' on her YouTube account shortly after Dai-Ichi-Dan was finished.
