He has never been to a furry [[convention]], though he says he would have gone to [[ZonieCon]] if it was still around.
 
Faunus has openly stated his story into the fandom, of which he has written the following of: 

"I began as a young, annoying child. A more important point in my life was the 4th grade, in which I had been diagnosed with Autism, and a bunch of other crazy shit that really had little truth to it. I'm aware that I was actually stating my truths wrongly, as I wasn't greatly eloquent. 
I had been using computers for a general majority of my life, introduced by my father. I was into gaming, and it wasn't very long 'til I ran into the game development software "Game Maker." This led up to the software "Rpg Maker 2000," a bit more advanced. I got into it, and waited some time until Rpg Maker XP. That was released promptly, and I remember taking a long break from Rpg Maker until I had casually looked up RPG Maker one day. 
Well, I ran into my new community, Rmxp.net (Which had been relocated to Rmxp.org after a bit of drama). I slowly gained popularity there, and after finally releasing my age, it went downhill from there. 
I admit, I was a stupid asshole throughout the majority of that time. I ranted at stuff I knew nothing about, and said stupid bullshit. It was some time before I ran into a furry member, who had a link to the early [[FBC]] in his signature. I had no clue what a furry was, nor did I care, so I ignored it. 
It was about a year until I heard about 2 on those same forums. I listened to everything he had, and learned quite a bit. I began a Furjournal, of which I have forgotten about and now I generally haven't seen it in about 6 months. 
I learned about the FBC, and joined promptly, becoming the clown of the IRC. Later, when the FAOD returned, I joined them as well. And now I live for the new 2 Sense, and generally am far more cynical."
