I.C.Q. is a furry webcomic by quoting_mungo and Veritas. It's a mature slice-of-life comic, centered around three roommates in a fictional college town. The comic was released on August 1 2010 after more than half a year of periodically having supplemental character art and other extra material released in its LiveJournal community. The comic's title was formed from the initials of the main characters' species, as well as selected for its phonetical reading.

Main characters
* Sarah Woolf - a sheltered and sometimes naïve impala with rabbit blood.
* Toni Squire - a short calico cat, the oldest of the roommates and the only one who isn't going to college.
* Blake Masterson - a quagga who hates nothing more than being called a zebra.

FennéCat

Quotingmungo:

FennéCat (also sometimes called FenneCat, due to some computer keyboards that can not make the é) is a furry artist and fursuiter from Georgia, U.S.A. She joined the furry community on August 13, 2009, but has always had an interest in fursuits and anthropomorphic animals. She also travels with her family often, in which she gets most of her artwork done.

Fursuits
FennéCat has a small line of fursuits that she makes and sells herself called "Fenné's Fleecy Fursuits" She plans to sell them in a large group during the Summer. Two unique fursuits resembling her Fursona (FennéCat) and her male counterpart character Razul, are going to be created by the end of next Summer. A prototype of FennéCat was made back in October. FennéCat's characters are stated here:

* FennéCat: Also her fursona, FennéCat is a fennec fox and domestic cat hybrid. She is said to have once been in a gang and currently resides with Razul. As she says, "We're all guessing it's Denver." Back in October, 2010, a Prototype of this fursuit was made with only paws, feet, a tail, and a head. Before next summer, her real first fursuit of FennéCat will be finished. A Partial, which will include all new foot paws, hand paws, and a head, but the same tail. (Stating that she wants to keep the same tail for every new version of that fursuit) She has a feral (Quad) version of this character as well that takes the form of a full cat, but it is rarely used.

* Razul: A fursuit still in very slow progress, he is a mute, partially blind, black and white cat with no pupils. Razul is sometimes called her male counterpart. He is mostly role-played as FennéCat’s boyfriend. Once the lead singer (Lip-singer, due to him being born mute) and dancer at a club called Le Plush, until he was mauled by dogs, fired by his mean bosses, and then found by FennéCat, who is protecting him from a death sentence. This will be FennéCat's first full fursuit. He is hoped to be a partial by the end of summer 2011, and then become a full suit closer to October.

As of October, 2010, she has made a partial fursuit for her friend sujiewolf (Sujie), two heads were made for this suit, because the first was to large.

FennéCat's Trilogy
A trilogy animation series or book series is being decided upon by FennéCat, about her character's life story. If animated, it will be completely traditionally animated by her, if written, it will be a published book. Either way, it is still in progress.

Talk:Gertrude McFuzz Syndrome

Quotingmungo:

So what happened to Gertrude in the end - death by starvation? --GreenReaper 21:43, 18 Dec 2005 (UTC)
:If I remember correctly, she gets her original tail back and is happy with it from then on. --mwalimu 00:34, 19 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Appropriate?
Four hits, 3 from Wikifur itself, one paragraph from the Seus musical. No hits on Image or talk boards, no hits art wise (samples). First origin: Wikifur,... Non-existing term. Thoughts? - Spirou 06:48, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

:The practise is certainly common enough in fandom, and on that basis I think the article is appropriate. Never heard the name before, though. How do people usually refer to habitually exaggerated tails? --quoting_mungo 12:35, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

However, WikiFur:Ledger only shows a donation of $96.30. GR, can you clarify which one of these number is correct? Thanks. --Douglas Muth 17:14, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
:$100 is correct, based on our accounting of what donating cost them, not on what we got. PayPal charges a fee for accounts that can accept credit card donations - this is why there is a separate account for them, so we don't get charged a fee for those people who want to pay using PayPal direct. As the ledger is a record of how much WikiFur has to spend, it records the latter amount. A bigger cost is actually the tax - as a private individual, this technically counts as income for me. Fortunately for WikiFur's account balance, I will not be deducting these taxes from the amount available. This is one reason why it is good to people to pay for stuff themselves if they have an idea and want to support it, rather than pay me and have the money taxed twice - once when they earnt it, and once when they send it to me. :-) GreenReaper(talk) 17:27, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

::Perhaps we should record the taxes/fees on the ledger page so as to make it clearer that not all of the donated money actually made it to WikiFur. --Douglas Muth 18:40, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
:::Well, it does already have a bit at the top explaining the situation with regards to fees. Perhaps I could put the actual amount donated in the notes area? The amounts donated are noted in a comments after people's entries in the supporters list. GreenReaper(talk) 20:46, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

:::: That's one idea. That would make it clearer why what is shown in the ledger does not necessarily match the person's donation status. However, wouldn't this make it more difficult to tally up the totals? That's one reason I had thought of having a seperate line item for taxes and fees incurred on a particular donation. --Douglas Muth 22:42, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
:::::I'm not sure how it would make it more difficult . . . the actual totals would continue to be from the adjusted value after fees, which would remain in the same place as it is already. The "face value" would be noted in the notes section, which is at the end of the line. This was done for example on Spirou's first donation, which mentioned the face value and the subscription. Face values should be tallied in the hidden comments on the text of the supporter page, because that's where they matter. --GreenReaper(talk) 23:23, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

:::::: Okay then. If that works for you then it's good enough for me! --Douglas Muth 23:28, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Fur Affinity has a permanent (I assume) link on every page of their site. They ought to be added to the last list, right? Octan 20:26, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

"Supporters" who just link to articles about themselves
Is a person really a supporter if they just make a link to the article about themselves? It seems like the intention is a bit of cheap promotion for them rather than a way to get more users for us. On the other hand, we probably still get some benefit from their doing so due to the way Google works . . . --GreenReaper(talk) 21:46, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

:Well, I think it actually helps to gain more users rather than a generic link would. WikiFur by itself, while smaller than Wikipedia, is still somewhat intimidating to a new visitor, and they might not know how to make their own account. But when someone sees a "furiend" with their own cool little webpage, they're more inclined to try and create their own (because vanity pages are alluring), and /then/ start exploring the rest of the wiki. I have links to both my page and WikiFur.com on my LJ info, but most of the time I just link to my page, and it seems to result in at least a good number of visitors creating their own user space (like User:Rhudi). If a website (such as fursuiter.org) is defunct, should it be removed from WikiFur Linking Supporters list? Should their LinkingSupporter tag be changed to something like "Was a WikiFur Linking Supporter."? --EarthFurst 19:16, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

I was looking at the ED article, and it says that they are a linking supporter. Sure they link to us, but since when were they a supporter? I just found it odd. --74.78.193.84 19:39, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

My own little entry
I'm already listed as Tori (homepage). However I think this, despite once being true, is now a little out of date, as it is now Furry Media International that contains the linking.

I would also prefer if the full name of Tori Belliachi were used. Tori is a little too informal for a place like WikiFur (my friends call me that). --Tori Belliachi 22:21, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Fur Affinity, also known as FA, is the furry fandom's largest online community, focusing on the promotion of art, music and stories.

The site was created in 2005 by Alkora as an alternative to various art community sites such as SheezyArt and deviantART, distinguished by allowing artistic freedom of expression regardless of content rating. It is led by The Dragoneer.

History
History of Fur Affinity
Fur Affinity was launched on 16 January 2005 as an alternative to SheezyArt, with the forum going live on that date and the main site being transferred a few days later from FurPawz. Since then, it has suffered a few outages, most notably a month-long downtime over July 2008, but always managed to recover. In 2011, Fur Affinity annouced it would be coming out with a new major version in connection to FA: United 4.

Fur Affinity: United!
FA: United
In August 2007, Fur Affinity held its own furry convention, Fur Affinity: United! (or FA:U) in Newark, New Jersey. The convention was a success, drawing 310 attendees and 25 fursuiters in the parade, and was followed by another in 2008, drawing 381 attendees. In February 2009, Dragoneer announced FA: United 3 "Games United" for 28-30 May 2010. No event was scheduled for 2009 due to the economic downturn.

Features and rules
Fur Affinity's features for users include the ability to allow users to track new updates from particular artists; highlight favorites; and upload a wide variety of art (images, music and stories). The site attempts to promote community through its comments system and individual journals.

While works of all ratings are accepted (other than photographic nudes and images whose intent are to slander or discredit others), art rated as mature or adult is not shown to visitors, or to users who have not specified it as a preference (which requires giving a date of birth indicating an age over 18). Keywords and tags can be added to works, though a feature that allowed blocking based on tags was disabled due to performance issues.

Fur Affinity's search engine was "temporarily disabled" in mid-2006 due to it taking up too many resources. A faux search feature was implemented for April Fool's Day 2007, much to the chagrin of some users. Search was reimplemented on 5 February 2009; it was initially labelled "That Thing You Want" and randomly included rickrolls.

Project Ferrox
Ferrox (software)
The FA development team was working on a new backend system called Ferrox which was to be used for the next major revision of Fur Affinity, and was to be made available as FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) for other sites to use. As of late 2009, development of Ferrox has stalled, with the last change to the code being made on September 7, 2009. FurAffinity has since then decided to upgrade the UI of the existing code instead.

Mascots
Fender is the Fur Affinity mascot. He was primarily created by artist K-9, based upon a character concept by Preyfar. He is half fox and half ferret, commonly referring to himself as a 'ferrox'.

On April Fool's Day 2007, Fender was depicted in the site's banner as a busty female dragon, still wearing the trademark blue tie. This dragon was made a separate character from Fender and an official mascot of the site in May 2007, and named Rednef, or "Fender" spelled backwards.

Fender was displayed as a three-toed sloth for April Fools' Day 2008. So far this sloth form has yet to become an official character.

Apologies
With college starting up within the next few weeks, i've been neglecting my duties to the DYK section. I've already missed an update and I apologize for that. Unfortunately, until i'm able to figure out how my computer situation will work out at college and what my schedule will be in general, i'm going to be kind of busy. Hi there! Please don't remove all content from pages, as you did with Inuki. Such changes will be reverted, especially when no reason is given. --GreenReaper(talk) 04:27, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

:That's what she gets for degrading me
:"Like most Thieves, she claims to ask before applying her edits, however this is in fact a lie. Even if it were true she posts her edited pictures in sites that do now allow such works and considers them traced or stolen, hence her label in the fandom as an Art Thief"

:She added that to my page without my permission -Twilightwolf4:

::I'm not sure you have the right person. Inuki is from Germany; the edits in question came from an IP address that traces to New York. Regardless, such edits just waste our time, not the subject's. Please refrain from them in the future. --GreenReaper(talk) 04:35, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Is there a way to prevent editing of a userpage?

:Administrators can do lots of things - though page protection is usually a last resort. If there's clearly an ongoing problem, other will step in. Note that you have the ability to watch pages, and to be emailed when an edit is made to them.
:Bear in mind that like most public wikis, WikiFur is open to all editors. While user pages will generally be left to the user concerned, if the information on them appears particularly one-sided, others may be inclined to edit them. Content that appears to be a description of a subject may also be moved to the main namespace and edited further, as user pages are not intended to replace or duplicate articles (compare GreenReaper and User:GreenReaper). --GreenReaper(talk) 05:00, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Either way, I'd rather not have my page altered
Especially not with lies made by anti-furs

:Well, and here's where it gets tricky - when it comes to a wiki, it's not "your page". It's "our page about you". The User: page is intended to provide information relating to your contributions to WikiFur - not as a venue for presenting your own opinion of yourself without fear of rebuttal; nor for criticizing others, especially when it comes to off-wiki matters. That stuff belongs on your homepage, and we're not a hosting site. If you want a page which only you can edit, you should probably look elsewhere. --GreenReaper(talk) 05:27, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Is deleting possible?
Although 'they' would make a new page about me anyway, ah well, life goes on, popularity has ups and downs, plus, not a lot of people know about my page...

there's no need to reply back to this

Wiki tagline
Just a quick note, because I've noticed it before but not gotten around to asking you about it... Is it possible to get the tagline to WikiLurv changed on the int'l portal for grammar reasons? "Den lurviga encyklopedin", would probably be the best translation of WikiFur's "the furry encyclopedia". Either that or "Den svenska furryencyklopedin" ("The swedish furry encyclopedia" - the former implies that the wiki itself is covered in fur, the latter that it's a furry-related encyclopedia; I'm not sure which WikiFur's tagline is supposed to imply); I'm not married to either translation, just want the grammar straightened out. At your convenience, of course. --quoting_mungo 13:50, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
:Sure. I've tweaked this now; you may have to force a refresh to see it. I guess the meaning I intended is really more the latter, but I used the former because it's shorter and doesn't specify the language, which would obliviate the point of a universal tagline (assuming that "Den furryencyklopedin" is also grammatically incorrect). --GreenReaper(talk) 13:59, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Most Wanted Information
*SheezyArt
*ElfWood (Do furries even use ElfWood?)
*<s>ArtSpots</s>
*<s>VCL, if you insist.</s>
*Transfur

Are there any other sites of major consequence? VCL, having nearly none of the features, doesn't seem to even qualify, but someone can add it if they want.

:VCL is an art site (pretty much nothing but) - it's worth including, even if it hasn't modernized itself to add new features. Artspots should be included. And maybe Artpiles. Elfwood? I don't know if furries use it anymore. Back in its day it was basically like Deviantart, but fantasy-only. There were definitely furries on it when it hit its stride, but it's been a long time since then. 24.77.166.82 16:47, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

What about ArtSpots? --Douglas Muth 20:00, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Content-based filtering?
Do these sites vary in their ability to filter artwork based on content? For example, would a fur be able to set his or her profile up to avoid snuff and vore? I'm unfamiliar with sites other than FA. Art submitted into FA is submitter-classified based on content and rating. Furs have an option in their profile to view or not view adult-rated art. (Adult furs have the option, at least.) However, they don't have the option to filter more specifically than that. FA permits warning thumbnails for edgy content, but leaves it to the submitter to generate these thumbnails and decide when to use them. BitterGrey 20:17, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

:Well, honestly, I've never been to any site that did that, 'to my knowlege'. I'll certainly look into it. Immelmann 21:30, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
:One of Inkbunny's leading features is tag-based filtering as well as general ratings. You can even block certain tags when placed on work of a certain rating (and there are separate three-level scales for sex and violence). --GreenReaper(talk) 21:40, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
::That's pretty cool. I'll make room for that.Immelmann 21:55, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Artists RSS feeds
Why not include those? ArtSpots supports them as well, at artistname.artspots.com/rss, they're just not advertised (which I think is an inadvertent bug in the new layout, I've reported it).

I understand we're low on space, but if necessary we could repeat with another table for secondary features - or perhaps switch to a vertical layout for features, with sites along the top. --GreenReaper(talk) 15:55, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Adjust headers?
I'd suggest adjusting the header of the "Ad" column; most people would consider "no ads" positive, FAIK, so having sites with ads get a green box in that column feels mildly counter-intuitive. --quoting_mungo 16:57, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

You may enter comics here that are not explicitly furry, or intended for a furry audience - they just have to be of interest to furries, perhaps by including anthropomorphic characters.

Paladins' Haven

2009-12-31T12:27:49Z

Quotingmungo: Site move

Paladins' Haven is a webcomic by Alexandra Herakai. After a slightly slower start, it was running on a Monday through Friday daily update schedule from mid-May 2005 until the conclusion of the first storyline in the beginning of January 2006. It returned for a two-week interlude storyline in June 2006, and has been inactive since.

In early December of 2008, the artist stated her plans for bringing the comic back in 2009, promising readers that the second storyline would start updating some time during that year. This was confirmed with a post ot the comic's LiveJournal community on October 19th, setting the start date for the new storyline some time between December 30th and January 2nd 2010, depending on what update frequency the readers of the community desired.

History
The comic originally started in year 2000 on a personal webpage, but soon moved to KeenSpace and continued to update there until it went on an extended hiatus in 2002 after some time of sporadic rather than regular updates. These first comics were organized into rough storylines by themes more than plot, and especially the first few such storylines contained a lot of slapstick humor. The author herself also appeared in the comic a few times. Most of these strips were computer-colored, though a few were done in colored pencil, watercolor pencil, marker, or some other traditional media.

The premise of Paladins' Haven was that a secret, magical retirement community for paladins was suddenly struck by a curse which changed the form of the inhabitants. Most of them were turned into furries of some variety, but there were exceptions, especially among the residents who already had some kind of animal form. For instance, a minor God suddenly found himself female, and Colone Patchwork, already a pegasus, was turned into a My Little Pony.

This run of the comic also included cameos of characters from other webcomics, including (among others) Sabrina Online, The Class Menagerie, The Changing Workplace and Unnatural But True.

There was a brief adult-rated spinoff off the comic by the original author, called Lives and Loves in Haven, but it was never restored after the free webspace it was hosted on turned into pay-space.

Present
In the later half of 2004, Alexandra decided to take down the entire old archive and restart the comic with a more serious tone. This new version premiered on January 1st 2005 and the first storyline takes place one to two years prior to where the comic's previous incarnation started out. As a result, the comic features considerably fewer furry characters. Some furred faces are still recognizeable from the first incarnation, including Colone Patchwork.

There were several reasons behind this overhaul. Firstly, the artist felt that her abilities had grown so much in the past four years, the strips would clash with her current skill level. Secondly, the silly slapstick that was so characteristic for the first few storylines detracted from the seriousness of the story she felt she wanted to tell. Thirdly, she felt it would be a lot easier to restart the comic and refrain from procastinating if it was done from scratch with all-new material.

The first storyline of the comic, Intervention at White Sow, was colored by hand using Copic Sketch markers, marking a significant difference in look compared to the earlier incarnation. This version of the story is also a lot more character-driven than the original work.

In connection to the comic's December 2009 return from an extended hiatus, it was migrated from Comic Genesis to a private WordPress-based website.

Just checking; is this the same Omega as the owner of Vor Cafe? That article says Omega is a dolphin/cervine mix, which is, well... Not a dragon. ;)

Of course it's fine if Omega is a separate Tapestries character, but it'd be nice to know; right now it's confusing. --quoting_mungo 17:38, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

FurNation is a website that specializes in hosting webpages with furry content. FurNation also operates a small adult-oriented comic publishing unit, producing titles such as Magazine, The Wanderer and Carpe Diem. FurNation operated the online store FurPlanet, until FurPlanet was purchased by FuzzWolf in March 2008.

Services
FurNation is a major establishment in the online furry community, providing a centralized location in which to find a variety of furry related content. In that time FurNation had gained not only a name for being a major player in furry information, art, and stories, but also a reputation for its periodic downtime. Some of these times have been relatively short, while others have been quite a bit longer. Because of this, many who maintain web space on FurNation also maintain a website at another web address.

Second Life and Furnation
In addition, Nexxus also administers and operates the Worlds on Second Life, a 3D virtual chat community bearing FurNation's flagship name (and reportedly taking a lot of the administrators' time to run, to the detriment of the website).

As of Jan 2009, there are fourteen sims, FurNation Alpha, Dragon, Dystopia, Fusion, Gryphon, Hell, Heroes, Noosphere Prime, Phoenix, Polaris, Prime, Purgatory, Vista, and Zagerion Forest.

On Thursday, May 28, 2009, Berlin was arrested on accusations he propositioned a fifteen-year-old boy over the internet. The rules document reiterates this.

SFF is hosted on a subdomain on WikiLurv's domain, primarily because that was the most community-oriented domain quoting_mungo currently had active and she didn't wish to register a new domain for it at the time. There is a possibility that SFF will be migrated to a new domain of its own in the future.

Hello, there!

I'm your friendly neighborhood crazy Swede, known in the community as Alexandra Herakai or quoting_mungo. I deal in fiction-writing, drawing, and comics; I went to Sequential Arts school for a year, though am currently studying Programming. Aside from furry fandom I also spend a ridiculous amount of time playing World of Warcraft.

I am also the founder/administrator of WikiLurv.

Feel free to say hello on my Talk page! (Though I don't guarantee that I'll get back to you very promptly. My presence on WikiFur is admittedly sporadic enough I don't always notice my login lapsing.)

My Work
I draw both human, anthropomorphic and full animal subjects, and try to maintain a decent pair of binders with furry prints for conventions (found in the 'Prints' folder in my VCL gallery), many of them featuring characters from Paladins' Haven. Most of my art is drawn and inked on cardstock and hand-colored using Copic Sketch markers, but every now and then I will sit down and computer-color a piece instead.

Convention Habits
I enjoy Midwest FurFest, but it's been something of a battle each year that I've gone, both money- and timewise. In addition, I have been considering Eurofurence, but that keeps getting put off. With some luck I'll be back overseas for MFF 2010.

You may have seen me around at MFF in 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2007, or possibly at AnimeIowa 2003... If that's your thing.

FurryCon (Sweden)

Quotingmungo: +category

FurryCon is a Swedish convention which will be held for the first time September 18-20 2009 in Karlstad. The venue has not been named by the con chair, but it has been stated that it is in the same building as a bowling alley and Sweden's largest indoor playland.

The convention is arranged by a number of furries from the area, originally with Ringo and Kirrow as co-chairs. Due to disagreements between the two co-chairs as well as between Ringo and members of Swedish furry forum SveaFur, Kirrow later became sole con chair.

FurryCon's rules state that no drugs, including alcohol, are allowed at the convention, nor is any adult material, making it a clean con.

Programming
FurryCon's preliminary programming mentions a fursuit showing, a café, some form of dealer's room, a drawing area, movie screenings, a video game area and bowling in or out of fursuit. How much space will be available for each activity is as of yet unclear. Svenska Furries Forum user mickel has also tentatively offered to run a role-playing campaign.

Zig Zag

2009-02-16T12:27:27Z

Quotingmungo: /* Fictional biography */ homonym warning

Zig Zag is a character creation of Canadian furry artist Malcolm Earle, aka Max Black Rabbit. She is an anthropomorphic skunk-tiger hybrid who is easily recognized by the markings on her face, body, and the distinctive chevron-shaped black stripes on her tail. Zig Zag began as one of Max Black Rabbit’s mature-themed illustrations and has since taken a life of her own. At the very least, she has been in existence since June of 1998.

Zig Zag is considered to be one of the most famous and recognized characters in the furry fandom. She has been drawn by many artists besides Max Black Rabbit, making numerous cameos and appearances over the years. She appears in Sabrina Online and Sabrina Online: The Story as Sabrina's boss at Double Z Studios

Fictional biography
The eldest child of her family, Zig Zag has two younger siblings, a brother and sister. None of whom share her striking coloration which she inherited from her maternal Siberian tiger grandfather. Zig Zag's childhood was an unhappy one; her father was abusive and her mother neglecting. With dysfunctional parents, she had to assume responsibility and care of her two siblings. Finally as Zig Zag grew older and started 'filling out', her father began delivering a different kind of abuse. This was the last straw that ultimately drove her from their poverty-stricken home.

A run away, she attempted to pursue an acting career. She worked hard but her lack of credentials, experience and her own 'exotic' looks meant her career was poor and encumbered. It even reached a point where returning home was a thought Zig Zag considered.

But her much awaited big break did come, in the world of adult entertainment industry. Despite initial hesitations, she made her choice. From that point forward, she worked her way up. Her career as adult movie actress was on the rise, coupled with her business acumen this culminating in the opening of her very own Double Z Studio. At this point she is described by her creator to be in her mid-twenties and still stars in many of her own productions

Then in a manner perhaps cliché, she returned home, gathered her siblings and brought them to her grandparents. She successfully sued her parents for custody, citing parental neglect and abuse. With her siblings safe, this victory was icing on cake as far as this skunk was concerned. With that done, she returned to her job; enjoying her hard won success and wealth, her place as a phenomenon in the adult underground, gaining both fans and public scrutiny, but most of all, just being happy being herself.

One of the most well-known Zig Zag fanfiction, James Bruner's Zig Zag the Story continues her story. Here, she is several years older, having recently turned 30 before the start of the narrative. This story takes a closer look at her life story, personality and how she tries to find happiness. Here Zig Zag meets and develops a romantic relationship with James Sheppard, a computer consultant and owner of his own company. In many works of fanfiction, James Sheppard (a German Shepherd/Coyote hybrid) is taken to be Zig Zag's special someone.

In her official biography, "Zig Zag" is a purely fictional nickname given to her by childhood friends. Her real name is never established by Max. Nevertheless, "Zumbrowski" is the last name conventionally used by most fanfiction authors due to its employment in Sabrina Online. Various first names have been ascribed to Zig Zag by fanfiction authors. In Zig Zag: The Story, she confessed privately to James that her real first name is "Tonya".

Personality
Zig Zag - in all her incarnations by fanfiction authors - is characterized by being very generous and liberal with her show of affection, and protective of those close to her, whether they be employees or loved ones. She is the type of boss that makes no small effort at keeping her studio personnel happy. Zig Zag is also bisexual, having serious heartfelt loving crushy feelings to all around her (of both genders) - especially Sabrina!

Sabrina Online depicts Zig Zag with a soft spot for kids. She volunteered a babysitting deed at a child-proofed day at Double Z Studios, as a pre-embarrassed, shorthanded Sabrina was needed there. Zig Zag was quite pleased to meet and kindly bond with Tabitha and Timmy... only to be Tabitha's movie star influence!

Popularity
Adult-oriented, pornographic (or yiffy) fan artwork featuring furry characters has been popular in furry fandom since the beginnings of this subculture. Zig Zag first became known as the star of a series of "yiffy" drawings by Max Blackrabbit, whose artistic style placed him into the upper tier of popular amateur furry artists. Zig Zag's persona won her a number of fans, due to the character's apparent zeal and enjoyment of her status as an adult film star. Unlike many female pornography characters (both real and fictional), Zig Zag was seen as bold, assertive and dominant; an individual that’s in charge of any situation she was in.

Her rise as a celebrity is most likely due to Eric W. Schwartz and his decision to include her in his Sabrina Online comic. The popularity of Schwartz's web comic undoubtedly helped expose Zig Zag to a wider general audience. Zig Zag has captured the imagination of Sabrina Online fans so much that she has become a minor recurring character in stories written about Sabrina. Furthermore she has collected fans all of her own. Often her stories are based in the "Sabrina-verse", with Zig Zag being the main character rather then Sabrina. The most well-known Zig Zag fanfiction would be Zig Zag the Story by James Bruner which features discreet cameos by various characters created by others, which in turn has had some of its story elements incorporated to fanfiction of others.

Taken together Zig Zag has become part of a loosely shared expanded universe, centering somewhat around Eric W. Schwartz's Sabrina. It is a universe displaying the rather rare example of people writing fanfiction (Identity Crisis) of a fanfiction (Zig Zag: The Story) of a fanfiction (Sabrina Online) of a fandom derived character.

Appearances
As befitting an icon in the furry fandom, Zig Zag has made numerous cameos. Examples of which include the Tank Vixens card game (in a booster pack), Yiff: The Card Game, Furry Fight Farm, and several online comics:

*21st Century Fox
*Apollo 9
*Badly Drawn Kitties
*Dela the Hooda
*Fifine (as ZZaigg)
*Misty the Mouse
*Sabrina Online
*Jack
*Supermegatopia

She has also appeared in written works of fiction:
*Identity Crisis
*Sabrina Online: The Story
*Zig Zag the Story
*The Super Collie adventure: On the Lamb

In the Sabrina Online Radio Play, Zig Zag is voiced by Adrienne Nicole.

I don't think this is relevant enough to the fandom at large to warrant its own article; if it's to stay at all I suggest the information is incorporated into Wild Starter, maybe? At the very least it should start with something like "in the universe of the comic Wild Starter, a Starter is..." or similar. As it stands it's terribly confusing and there's no context until the very end of the article. --quoting_mungo 16:05, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

WikiLurv is a Swedish-language furry wiki, inspired by TurriWiki and WikiFur.

* Address: http://www.wikilurv.se/
* Founder: quoting_mungo
* Ran from/to: October 17, 2008 - present

The name "WikiLurv" originated from the Swedish word "lurv" ("rough" or "shaggy"), used to describe fur. The actual word for fur, "päls", did not sound as good. "Lurvisar" was previously used by comic artist Kolbeinn Karlsson to describe the concept of furries.

The wiki was first proposed in November 2006.

The Caer Carnivore is a furry household now in San Jose, California.

It was a social focal point for some of the early furs from the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas and was resident of several noted furry artists.

Movie Night
From nearly at it's inception in 1995 until 2005, the NJ Caer Carnivore would host a weekly "movie" night on Tuesday evenings. While it initially grew out of the dubbed anime that locals were providing to New York Animation Society (FANTA), it soon became a gathering of artists, furs and friends.

Many furry artists and new furs were introduced to the fandom here. Regular attendees included Uncle Kage, Gideon, Roxikat, Astor, Bennie, SusanDeer, Jay Shell, Rob Fenelon, Gerald and Richard Moriarty and more.

Events
In addition to regular gaming and moving nights, there were often weekend social gatherings.

On his birthday, Wolf Kidd would host an annual gathering that drew from both locals as well as strongly from the Toronto furry artist community. Regular attendees included: Ferris, Max Blackrabbit, Mel. White, Torrle, Andrew Murphy-Mee, Shawntae Howard, etc.

The house played host to two weddings: Wolf and Anastasia Kidd in 1997. Ken and Lisa Sample in 2002.

The caer was the central organizing point and binding location of the A.P.A. MegaMorphics.

New Jersey
It originally was formed in December 1995 when Ken Sample and Anastasia Kidd purchased a late Victorian 3-story house in Dunellen, NJ.

Over the years the residents have included: Anastasia Kidd, Dorthy Vonkannon, Lisa_Lynx, Wolf_Kidd, and SueDeer.

In June 2006, the house was sold and the then current residents went their separate ways. Ken and Lisa moved out to San Jose, CA. Wolf Kidd moved to Lewisville, TX. Anastasia Kidd remained in Dunellen, NJ.

California
In April 2008, the house was reformed. Original residents Ken Sample and Lisa Lynx were joined by former movie night members Bennie and SueDeer. Additionally moving in were long-standing friends Cory Partypup and Orrin. Name was "updated" to Caer 2.0 in honor of the New Jersey house.

Sue-chan

Quotingmungo: minor language fixes

Sue-chan is a character in the comic series Andorozon created by Ken Singshow but was also featured in Extinctioners comic series created by Shawntae Howard. She is a Skunk anthroid.

Sue-chan, or Sue Dannoura, the youngest member of the team, is a typical "valley girl". She is seen as an all around air head who spends as much time on dates as she spends on trying to get out of doing work around the house or watching videos.

Sue-chan has the ability to 'mess' around with devices with even simple mechanisms failing in her presence. Inorganic mechanisms simply don't work well around her. These effects can be both positive and negative for her. For example the guns aimed at her fail to fire but the ATMs go crazy when she tries to use them. Besides having the ability to "jinx" devices, Sue-chan is quite the martial arts expert, like aikido and tai quang leap.

Last but not least, another one of Sue's many special abilities is that she is a living walking chemical factory who can synthesize any chemical substances ranging from vanilla scent to a deadly nerve gas, and spray through her tail mounted nozzle. Sue-chan is very popular with the guys. This doesn't bother the others for she is seen as their baby sister and they tend to look out for her. Sue-chan has quite a few hobbies, and besides having 3 different dates a day she likes to sing, go shopping and to parties. She hates work, exams and studying. She misses her father on the Alden world and hopes that when all of this is over she will be able to find him and be reunited with him again.

Furvert (term)

2008-12-15T11:25:07Z

Quotingmungo: /* External links */ link fix

:This article is about the term. There was also a FurryMUCK character called Furvert.
A furvert, a portmanteau of the words fur and pervert, is a Furspeech term for someone who is sexually aroused by erotic furry artwork, stories, or similar media.

The term was coined in the earliest days of furry fandom. Nowadays, the term is often used with humorous or ironic intent by furries themselves, but has much more negative connotations outside of the fandom.

History
The earliest known regular usage of the term was in reference to the first open-membership furry amateur press association magazine, FurVersion, which first published in May of 1987.

Karl Maurer, the magazine's publisher, is credited with starting the ongoing practice of using puns involving the word "fur" to indicate Furry activities (e.g., a comic called Furrlough, a convention called ConFurence, and so on.)

Alternate definition
The Furry Dictionary lists furvert as "One who enjoys furry erotica", a defintion provided by Barry Gold in October 2000.<ref name="dictionary">Furry Dictionary maintained by Cloudchaser Shaconage.
