Situated in Derbyshire, WFTT features a varied cast of characters who happen to live in the area. Most of the cartoons, though, seem to focus on a small core of them; These main characters are Jess, Reuben, and Isabel.

==History==
Originally appearing in Thom's deviantART account, early versions of the strip (featuring anthros) were uploaded in late July 2005. In the following month, Thom uploaded a set of newer strips, featuring versions of Jess, Reuben and Isabel much closer to their current forms; updates were sporadic until he began the first story arcs in September.

In October, Thom announced that he was going to get his comic its own website.It never happened.

All [[furs]] are welcome to join from any location, especially Washington, DC, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia areas. NoVAFur is mainly intended as a meeting and exchange forum for Northern Virginia furry [[lifestylers]], but it has expanded to welcome much of the East Coast. Non-furs, and the mildly curious are also welcomed to attend open events held by [[NoVAFur]].

[[NoVAFur]] hosts regular friendly meet, greet and yiff events locally in Northern Virginia near the Tyson's Corner and Chantilly, Virginia areas. Attendance for meets is from ten to fifteen furs and gaming, coffee and exchanging links on the internet is typical. Movie outings are sometimes the preferred selection. Afterwards, the group usually goes to the nearby IHOP or restaurant for a late meal and some light conversations. Occasional [[fursuit]]-friendly camping outings and other meets also occur on a regular basis, as do ride-shares to non-local events and conventions.

[[NoVAFur]] events also traditionally includes picnics in the fall and spring at Glen Echo Park in Maryland along the Potomac River. Originally from New Orleans until hurricane Katrina, Owen lived in a small apartment in a dilapidated building in Maranatha City, with neighbors [[Double Bill]] and [[Mrs Ackerby]] and her dog [[Pickles]], under the rule of landlord [[Butterfly]]. His second-story apartment faces into a courtyard with clear line of sight from [[Nicky Marlowe]]'s apartment on the other side. Owen owns a telescope to view [[Nicky Marlowe]]'s apartment on a nightly basis

After his departure from Maranatha City, a blatant rip off of Seattle, he was most recently seen in London, not far from Piccadilly Square, though it's unknown whether he resides in that city. Fortunately, nobody cares.

== Occupation ==
Owen is a prostitute, servicing predominantly male clients, preferring the term hustler over escort because of his preference for the quick and anonymous servicing of a large number of clients rather than 'spending the night' with one particular customer. He has contracted a numerous amount of STD's through this, but since he has so many, they cancel each other out.

Owen continued to ply this trade even after Maranatha City, though by the time he appears in Heathen City he is very close to 'retiring' fro the profession to find another direction for his life. Get it? fro? He's going to become black. There I spoiled it.

== Relationships ==
Owen's oldest friend and lover, something that does not make any sense because he's supposed to be a prostitute, in all but name, is [[Q. I. Malloy]], a dobermann burglar and drug dealer, with whom he first traveled to Maranatha City. While sexually active and emotionally intimate with each other, the pair never had a relationship in the romantic sense, and only briefly shared an apartment in their early days in Maranatha before going their separate ways.

Owen has most recently been seen in various Soho nightclubs in the company of a tiger named Ruy. The precise nature of this relationship is unclear, though Owen's decision to quit his life of prostitution came very soon after his first encounter with Ruy. Undoubtedly this means more yiffing, but if you did not know that by now, consider yourself lucky.

== Trivia ==
Owen is technically Jewish, and is known to occasionally uphold certain aspects of the faith, electing to eat kosher on significant days such as Hanukkah, Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashannah. The arbitrary nature of his observances and, of course, his profession, indicate that this is motivated less by actual belief in the Jewish scriptures, and more by his upbringing, and the comfort of familiar rituals. He currently mocks the Jewish race by existing.

The pet auctions of early furry conventions mirrored the slave auctions of general [[sci-fi]] conventions in many ways.
