4chan is a 2ch style art community founded by Something Awful goons, with a lot of content in English. Visitors submit content in various categories, such as: /h for Hentai, /d for alternative hentai (Futanari), /y for Yaoi, /t for torrents, etc. Once upon a time it also allowed Lolicon and Shota, however, these categories were moved to not4chan.org, due to TOS violations. 4chan also incorporates more innocent categories such as "Papercraft and Origami", "Videogames", "Animals and Nature", "Mecha", among others.

* Address: http://www.4chan.org/
* Founder: Moot
* Ran from/to: ? - present

4chan terminology
*/b/tard: Both a derisive ("retard") and a self-identifying term for /b/ users.
*Caturday: A Saturday version of Furry Friday (see "4chan and furries".)
*GTFO FURFAG ("Get The Fuck Out[,] Furfag"): A memetic net slang term used on anybody posting furry art on 4chan, specially /b/.
*DESU: A phrase that "represents" Suiseiseki in Rozen Maiden in fact. It is a Japanese sentence ending and literally means "it is". She uses it so often that it becomes a platitude for some viewers. This word is often repeated in a large amount to make up meaningless replies, sometimes even a mirrored version nsәp is used.

4chan and furries
For the first year or so of its existence, the majority of people on 4chan looked down upon furries and even funny animal cartoons as a nuisance that did not belong on an anime board. If a moderator could identify a furry, they would ban him or her for a number of months.

However, /b/, a random board where anything could be posted within U.S. law, soon grew into its own culture, centered around anonymity and rebellious against any sort of rules imposed on it from outside. "Furry Friday" became a regular feature of /b/, as every Friday the furries would come out of the woodwork and flood both clean art and pornography, to the disgust of some other /b/ users (who would often complain that it was the "wrong day" if furry art was posted on any other day).

The above turnaround happened around the time 4chan pulled a stunt called April Furs Day. April 1, 2005 4chan created a /fur/ board and told people that furry images should go in there instead of /b/. This became the most active board of all 4chan. Most people assumed it was an April Fools Day joke and expected it to be gone the next day. Some people complained about it in /b/ and /fur/. April 2nd, it remained and people against it tried to flood it with non-furry images, such as EroGuro--the moderators banned those people. On April 3, the moderators removed the board and banned every person who had posted in it--including those who complained about it in /fur/. The banning almost completely eliminated all furry postings for the next several months. April Furs Day was a major act of fursecution and 4chan did not repeat it in 2006.

A short time prior to the April Furs Day event, to balance the growing demand for furry art and to provide a place for furry artwork to be posted without risk of removal or banning from an admin (as 4chan's owner proclaimed it was an anime website and would never add any furry or cartoon board), a mysterious user named Dr. Pon found hosting for Fchan, one of the first and most popular furry imageboards.

4chan and WikiFur
On several occasions since WikiFur began, some members of 4chan have committed widespread vandalism to the wiki. Why members of 4chan seem particularly obsessed with WikiFur remains a mystery; so too is the significance of "desu", which is often part of the vandalism.

Tail Tale (2000 video game)

2005-12-17T02:02:07Z

Polobird:

Tail Tale is a PC game released in Japan only, in 2000, by a developer called Circus. It is sorted, under the developer, as the Volume 2 of "Yaminabe Aries ~Ashita he no Chosenjyou~" ("Dark Pan Aries ~Challenge Literature Towards Tomorrow~"). Classified as an adventure game, Tail Tale is based on Kemono Hentai, and claimed to be the first kind of its own.

Story
In a world consisting of floating continents, there exist races of kemono-s with different fur colours. One of the races is known as "Mao" ﹝マオ族﹞ . At the east and the west edge of the continent, there are two villages- "Bastalk"(?) ﹝バストーク﹞ and "Zarpat"(?) ﹝ザパト﹞ respectively.
The protagonist living in Bastalk, Lick, looks much foward to being able to build an aircraft (where there is none in that civilization) in order to explore a new world. On a very day, while Lick is picking herbs for healing his sick younger brother, Nap, he came cross path with a girl living in Zarpat, Run. And the life of Lick is going to be changed forever after this encounter...

Characters
*Lick (Rick?) Zack ﹝リック・ザック﹞
**Protagonist of the game, a KemoShota (furry cub) living in Bastalk. His father died in a crash of aircraft experiment, and he is succeeding this ambition.
*Nap Zack ﹝ナップ・ザック﹞
**Lick's (KemoShota) younger brother. Having pulmonary sickness, he has to stay in his bed. He like to read books and translate the old one, while sometimes he looks for forbidden literature about aircraft as well as the outside world.
*Run Turn ﹝ラン・タン﹞
**A (KemoLoli) maiden living in Zarpat. His father is from Bastalk. Strangely, Run's tail is wrapped by a long roll of ribbon.

Tail Concerto is a game for the Playstation, released in Japan in 1998 by Bandai and in the USA in 1999 by Atlus.

Summary
The story occurs in the Kingdom of Prairie (Country of Meadow), a kingdom made up of islands floating in the air, and populated by 30 000 Dog-People (he and she-dogs) and 3 000 Cat-People (he and she-cats). It was a peaceful kingdom until the day when a group called the "Black Cats Gang" attacked one of the islands, Resaca. Waffle, a police officer of the kingdom, is called away from his vacation to go investigate and prevent the "Black Cats Gang" from destroying everything.

Characters
;Waffle Ryebread

Waffle is a dog working for the police. He is smart, brave, and always looking to help - qualities that make him a great addition to the Prairie police force and a ladies man to boot. Even though his job may command otherwise, he's always looking to do what's right in a situation, even if it means endangering himself. He's working hard toward a well-deserved vacation... :)

;Russell Ryebread

Russell is Waffle's grandfather, who studies artifacts and the world left behind by the ancent civilization. He is very intelligent but wishes Waffle had followed in his footsteps and taken on his life's work.

;Panta-kun

This adorable little pup carries a communications radio on his back. He's always looking to help Officer Waffle, although his small size tends to get in the way.

;Police Chief

The police chief may seem like a tough guy, but he's a soft one deep down. He gives Waffle new missions and updates from time to time.

;Alicia Priss

Alicia is the leader of the Kuroneko-dan (Black Cats Gang). With a hatred for all dogs, she wants to collect five artifact jewels that will help her to build a homeland for all the cats. Unfortunately for her, she doesn't know the full story behind these crystals, and her emotions sometimes get in her way.

;Stare Priss

Alicia's sister is the quiet type. Her interests lie in the well-being of her sisters.

;Flare Priss

Flare is the adopted sister of Alicia and Stare. Young and hyper, she looks up to Alicia and follows whatever she believes.

;Kittens

Tons of kittens swarm the islands of Prairie making mischief and hunting for crystals. Some of them have bombs or dangerous aircrafts.

;Fool

Fool is a weapoms merchant who also deals in illegal relics. He wants the Priss sisters to find him the five crystals scattered about the land so he can resurrect an ancient evil that he wants to use to take over the land.

;Princess Terria

Terria (Terrier) is not the average quiet princess. She wants to go on an adventure, much to the dismay of her escort. After she is rescued by Waffle, she grows feelings for him

;Chamberlain

Terria's old escort is stressed as ever. He can't keep up with the young princess, especially when she is wandering off unattended or being kidnapped.

;King Hound III

The king, and Terria's father.

;Cyan Garland

Cyan is the obnoxious captain of the palace guards. He thinks very higly of himself and his abilities, but most of the time he can't put his money where his mouth is. He loves Terria, which leaves him in competition with Waffle for her affections - a competition Waffle doesn't want part of.

;Gray Garland

Gray is Cyan's grandfather who has a bitter ongoing rivalry with Russell. He lives in the high northern island of Coolant where he studies frozen life forms.

;Tetsukyoushin

Tetsukyoushin (Iron God Machine, renamed Iron Giant in the US version) is an ancient creation powered by the five crystals. It's destructive rampage was put to an end when the crystals were removed from it's heart, and his limbs scattered. Now Fool is out to resurrect him, not knowing even he can't control the giant...

Notes
The developer, CyberConnect2, has a plan of merging another title- "Mamoru-kun" which the story takes place in the "Country of Nipon" (not "Nippon" meaning Japan) with "Tail Concerto" in "Kingdom of Prairie", into a unity called "Little Tail Bronx" (bronx means borough?). However, there only seems to be a geographical connection between the two, as Mamoru-kun is not the sequel of Tail Concerto...
