Commander Kitty is a webcomic by Scotty Arsenault, who also created Heebas. Commander Kitty is about zany space adventure, from the perspective of characters who are not themselves entirely sane. Witness your mind turn to quivering mush as they battle with imaginary evil alter egos from another dimension, fending off commercial advertising that would make the Borg tremble, travelling through time leaving a bloody carnage of blatant paradox behind them, discovering the secret artifacts of planet Pangolin, and going shopping for yogurt.

The Site
Commander Kitty used to be hosted on Yerf, colossal catastrophe of recent times. After the server's hard disk melted into a bubbling pile of slag, unfortunately all Yerf accounts were lost, the files for this comic gone too. As such, both Yerf staff and Scotty have promised to get things started up as soon as possible. Months later, here I am writing this wiki entry entirely from memory.
<br>Commander Kitty<br>
Scotty is keeping us all up to date on said lack of comic on that page, until that glorious day when the page becomes again, a comic. The Scotty goodness / the day of Kitty glory / Purpled shall return. It has been prophesied!

Cast
The Crew<br>
The (biological) crew of Commander Kitty are a ferret, and 3 kitties. Specifically natives of planet Ferret, and planet Cat, possibly fugitives from there, but more likely the interstellar equivalent of drunken frat rejects out cruising in their newfound freedom of finally having your own wheels. They claim to be space pirates but they're really just a bunch of numpfs.
----
; Kitty : That's Commander Kitty to you. This mysterious figure has an equally mysterious, and obviously highly embarassing name. Never shall it reach our ears. It's probably something dumb like Bernard, or Jeremy. What's in a name anyway? Oh, and he's the captain.
; Mittens : The Sargent, aka whipping boy, of the ship. He does the driving, the cleaning, the negotiating with space armadas, the dealing with telemarketers, and other banal stuff not suited for His Captainship. Mittens is arguably the most sane of all the people there, but is far too stupid, cowardly and subservient to do anything but panic when things go horribly wrong.
; Fluffy : The First Officer, she is likely not even aware they are on a space ship. She is known for the audible thud noise that her brain makes when someone asks her a question with two meanings. She is not very bright, though occasionally displays frightening amounts of intelligence, when nobody else is around to see her breaking the fourth wall with Lego(tm) blocks.
; Mr. Socks : The best character in the strip--*gets attacked by rabid wombats*--the unofficial pet of the ship. I think he might be the weapons engineer, because he seems to be the best at using them. He does not speak Cat, or Pangolin, or English, but apparantly he is speaking a language, as a very few characters understand it. More aggressive than Mittens, he is nonetheless less concerned when things go horribly wrong, more apt to tackle the problem head-on and hug to death than avoid its razor sharp drooling fangs. Unlike the captain, Mr. Socks can read a map, so he might also be the navigator. It is generally a Bad Thing if your navigator speaks in incomprehensible Ferret. Mr. Socks has been getting bigger as the strip progresses. This is probably because he keeps stealing Kitty's yogurt.
; MOUSE : Technically smarter, and saner than Mr Socks, the ship's computer mostly loses sanity points for being dissociative and suicidal. Which makes sense actually, because the computer is embodied in mouse shaped drones that buzz around the ship. The network of mice has something between a collective identity and individual identities. To be blunt it likes arguing with itself, and frequently commits suicide in preference to following the Commander's course to destruction. Sadly for the computer, there's always another mouse.
The Space Pirates<br />
What space adventure would be complete without space pirates? In actuality, some of the strongest plot is here. While Kitty seems more on a madcap dash across the universe just because he has a nice new ship, the OO (Outlaws Ononymous (don't ask)) clearly have an agenda, which hasn't entirely been revealed.
----
; Nin Wah : A Red Panda (aka Wah) from the planet Panda Red. Also a low rank member of the OO, she nevertheless manages to bear a coolness leagues above the Commander Kitty crew. If they didn't keep getting her captured, she would probably hang around them just because they make her look good. She bears some deep wounds, emotional and physical, and is honestly trying to be the most dastardly space pirate this side of the universe. It would help if her arm stopped falling off. Oh, and she's allergic to teleporting.
; HUSHU : Nin Wah has a personal computer that looks like Kitty's ship mice, but is blue, much smarter, and can do cool stuff for Nin Wah. Like teleport her. And then revive her from catatonia. And then make her sing Broadway tunes. Even though she (being a space pirate) stole it, the blue mouse seems to like her a lot.
; Mysterious Rabbit Dude : Probably going to haunt Scotty for the entire strip, this rabbit self proclaimed by the artist as not being fun to draw, is Nin Wah's tutor of sorts. At least he was until she ran him over with the sewage truck. Unlike her, he knows exactly what the OO's business is, and seems to be trudging along behind the scenes waiting to jump in at the right times.
The Others<br>
People as such not pirates, or crew.
----
; Pangolins : The story starts with a supply run to planet Pangolin, where the natives are pangolins. A very odd race, who dominates the universe in corporate advertising. Though they often dress in strikingly different clothing (~\oScience Fiction Double Feature), they all look exactly alike, with the notable exception of older Pangolins, who go bald. (And their 'hair' is those thick scales.)
; Cecil : The advertisers of Pangolin value their customer's opinions enough to employ demons bound from their unearthly plane of existence by prophetic tasks, to frighten their customers into giving their opinion about various forms of market research, such as which cola tastes better, or what brand of toilet paper is the fluffiest. I shouldn't say more here, but this demon is put to the task of tracking down all the spatial and temporal anomalies I mentioned above that Commander Kitty seems to leave in his wake.

Exclusive Interview
In an interview with the Nashua Telegraph Online, Scotty mentioned the following about his strip:
<blockquote>
“‘Commander Kitty’ is, as most Web comics start out as, a labor of love, and just an outlet for my creativity,” Arsenault said in a recent telephone interview. “I don’t remember wanting to do anything else. I always wanted to draw and be creative. The Internet is just a magnificent place for giving people with something to say, a place to say it.”
<br><br>
“I created a bunch of characters that really weren’t going anywhere, then I came up with new ones that I could work better with, and out came Commander Kitty, Fluffy, Mittens, Mr. Socks, it just sprang out of that,” Arsenault said. “After I put the characters together, I took a vacation in Washington, D.C. I’d take my sketch pad and started making up stories.”</blockquote>
In an interview with the Nashua Telegraph Online, Scotty mentioned the following about his strip:
<blockquote>

Commander Kitty is (was) IS a webcomic by the renowned Scotty Arsenault, who made his claim in furry fame with the Heebas comic strip. Commander Kitty is a comic about zany space adventure, from the perspective of characters who are not themselves entirely sane.
But worry not! The Scotty goodness / the Arsenault of glory / Purpled shall return. It has been prophesied!
They claim to be space pirates but they're really just a bunch of numphs.
----
; Kitty : That's Commander Kitty to you. This mysterious figure has an equally mysterious, and obviously highly embarassing name. Never shall it reach our ears. It's probably something dumb like Bernard, or Jeremy. What's in a name anyway? Oh, and he's the captain.
; Fluffy : The Sargent, aka whipping boy, of the ship. He does the driving, the cleaning, the negotiating with space armadas, the dealing with telemarketers, and other banal stuff not suited for His Captainship. Fluffy is arguably the most sane of all the people there, but is far too stupid, cowardly and subservient to do anything but panic when things go horribly wrong.
; Mittens : The Lieutenant, she is likely not even aware they are on a space ship. Very schizoid and out of it, but scarily she's the smartest one. Not that it does her any good, when that knowledge is applied to breaking the fourth wall with a portal constructed entirely from Lego(tm) blocks. She is known for the audible thud noise that her brain makes when someone asks her a question with two meanings.
More aggressive than Fluffy, he is nonetheless less concerned when things go horribly wrong, more apt to tackle the problem head-on and hug to death than avoid its razor sharp drooling fangs. Unlike the captain, Mr. Socks can read a map, so he might also be the navigator. It is generally a Bad Thing if your navigator speaks in incomprehensible Ferret. Mr. Socks has been getting bigger as the strip progresses. This is probably because he keeps stealing Kitty's yogurt.
; The Ship's Computer : Technically smarter, and saner than Fluffy, the ship's computer mostly loses sanity points for being dissociative and suicidal. Which makes sense actually, because the computer is embodied in mouse shaped drones that buzz around the ship. The network of mice has something between a collective identity and individual identities. To be blunt it likes arguing with itself, and frequently commits suicide in preference to following the Commander's course to destruction.

Commander Kitty is (was) IS a webcomic by the renowned Scotty Arsenault, who made his claim in furry fame with the Heebas comic strip. Commander Kitty is a comic about zany space adventure, from the perspective of characters who are not themselves entirely sane.
But worry not! The Scotty goodness / the Arsenault of glory / Purpled shall return. It has been prophesied!
<br>Commander Kitty<br>
Scotty is keeping us all up to date on said lack of comic on that page, until that glorious day when the page becomes again, a comic.

Cast
The (biological) crew of Commander Kitty are a ferret, and 3 kitties. Specifically natives of planet Ferret, and planet Cat, possibly fugitives from there, but more likely the interstellar equivalent of drunken frat rejects out cruising in their newfound freedom of finally having your own wheels. They claim to be space pirates but they're really just a bunch of numphs.
----
The Crew
; Kitty : That's Commander Kitty to you.
He's arguably the most sane of all the people there, but is far too stupid, cowardly and subservient to do anything but panic when things go horribly wrong.
; Mittens : The Lieutenant, she is likely not even aware they are on a space ship. Very schizoid and out of it, but scarily she's the smartest one. Not that it does her any good, when that knowledge is applied to breaking the fourth wall with a portal constructed entirely from Lego(tm) blocks. She is known for the audible thud noise that her brain makes when someone asks her a question with two meanings.
; Mr. Socks : The best character in the strip--gets attacked by rabid wombats the unofficial pet of the ship. I think he might be the weapons engineer, because he seems to be the best at using them. He does not speak Cat, or Pangolin, or English, but apparantly he is speaking a language, as a very few characters understand it.
Sadly for the computer, there's always another mouse.
The Space Pirates<br />
What space adventure would be complete without space pirates? In actuality, some of the strongest plot is here. While Kitty seems more on a madcap dash across the universe just because he has a nice new ship, the OO (Outlaws Ononymous (don't ask)) clearly have an agenda, which hasn't entirely been revealed.
; Nin Wah : A Red Panda (aka Wah) from the planet Red Panda. (Are we sensing a trend here?) Also a low rank member of the OO, she nevertheless manages to bear a coolness leagues above the Commander Kitty crew. If they didn't keep getting her captured, she would probably hang around them just because they make her look good. She bears some deep wounds, emotional and physical, and is honestly trying to be the most dastardly space pirate this side of the universe. It would help if her arm stopped falling off. Oh, and she's allergic to teleporting.
; Blue Mouse : Nin Wah has a personal computer that looks like Kitty's ship mice, but is blue, much smarter, and can do cool stuff for Nin Wah.
The Others
; Pangolins : The story starts with a supply run to planet Pangolin, where the natives are pangolins. A very odd race, who dominates the universe in corporate advertising. Though they often dress in strikingly different clothing (~\oScience Fiction Double Feature), they all look exactly alike, with the notable exception of older Pangolins, who go bald. (And their 'hair' is those thick scales.)
; Demon Prophet : The advertisers of Pangolin value their customer's opinions enough to employ demons bound from their unearthly plane of existence by prophetic tasks, to frighten their customers into giving their opinion about various forms of market research, such as which cola tastes better, or what brand of toilet paper is the fluffiest. I shouldn't say more here, but this demon is put to the task of tracking down all the spatial and temporal anomalies I mentioned above that Commander Kitty seems to leave in his wake.
