Born as a [[werewolf]] of Gaia in 1978, he grew up like a normal homide, rejected by [[human]]'s society until his first [[transformation]]. Two years with the werewolves taught him to dislike those [[creature]]s, and he looked for ways to escape his curse. In 1999, he found a [[demon]] who accepted to replace his curse for another one. He then became a full shapeshifter thanks to a strange golden amulet offered by the demon. He adapted his shape through time to adopt more or less permanently the one of a Griffox.

Ozone's entire anatomy is naturally adapted to flying. Fully [[feather]]ed like a [[bird]]'s, the wings have a very flexible skeletal structure. His wings have superhuman strength and can create enough lift to enable him to carry aloft at least 500 pounds (226.8 kilos) in addition to his own weight. He flies by flapping his wings, as a bird does. Though he generally flies below the height of 6,500 feet (1.98 kilometers), Ozone can reach a height of 10,000 feet (3 kilometers) with little effort.

With severe strain he can reach the highest recorded altitude of a bird in flight (the [[African geese]] at 29,000 feet [8,8 kilometers] above sea level), but he can only remain that high for several minutes. He can fly nonstop under his own power for an approximate maximum of twelve hours.

The [[fur]] around his shoulder blades is in fact very thin black feather covering the wing arms. The wing's pits are protected by numerous grey feathers while the longest white ones can be up to four feet long and provides the main flight support. Cartilage bones are hollow like a bird's, making him weigh far less than usual for a fox of his build.

His body is virtually devoid of fat, and possesses greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary fox does, a larger neck and a stronger chest.Organs are protected in a large rib cage. His very thin tummy almost devoid of anything thus looking atrophied. His [[tail]] is flat and triangular, used like a rudder for his flight.

Eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds which would hurt the average fox eye. They are extremely sharp and are able to see the smallest of prey from afar. His [[ear]]s are as large as a [[Fennec]]'s and can twist backward to make his head perfectly aerodynamic and protect his auditory canal from the wind.

He possesses a special membrane in his respiratory system enabling him to extract oxygen from the air at high velocities or altitudes. His brain is smaller than a fox and he forgets things easily after a few minutes. He's also playful and silly, considering anybody a potential prey until proven otherwise.

Actually, Simba '''tried''' to remove Snowpony by showing evidence of a few abuse. The result of this action was two weeks of proofs and argumentation by the goons. Two weeks ignored by FurNet's administration. After those two weeks, The FurNet administration published the new ''FurNet code of conduct''. The goons, seeing their action to havoc FurNet failed, and under the new ''code of conduct'' left the place forever.

The whole #safurs heading looks like a fight to justify some goon actions against FurNet. Snowpony was the administrator who took the problem in care, it doesn't mean she is responsible. Her actions was to be considered as an administrator. FurNet's administration solved the problem, by writing the ''Furnet code of conduct''.

This whole heading is highly non-objective.

Thanks for your notes. I'm sorry I didn't get around to this earlier, but I'm not sure it would have done much good - it seems to be a rather convoluted situation, and it's getting awfully late, here. Fortunately, on a wiki there is always more time. :-)

I am not sure that I agree that Snowpony's actions were entirely under the heading of "FurNet administration actions". I've been looking over [http://www.cimeris.com/~simba/furnet/situation.html this page] and [http://www.cimeris.com/~simba/furnet/ related documents], as well as a few [http://nothingkat.com/confession/snowpony.htm other] [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.furry/browse_frm/thread/c11a9c29324698dc sources] covering the views of both "sides" (and none, just people disappointed that the split occurred). Yes, I'm aware that the first in particular is biased towards making a point. However, they do show direct quotes from Snowpony herself describing actions that she took on her own initiative and which had not previously been discussed with the rest of the admin team.

My own view is that at the server operator level, administrators are personally responsible for their actions. If someone does something that I thought was wrong here, I would call them on it, probably publicly, and I would expect others to do so (as I expect it to be done for my own edits - fortunately I tend to have a good idea of what's acceptable to others so I don't get called on stuff ''too'' often). Apparently this is Snowpony's as well:

This is in direct reference to her actions in #safurs. The section should certainly be rephrased, at least - for example, "forcibly passed to Bobby" makes him look like someone she selected personally, when in fact she took a vote. Still, it was "unique", and it was '''her''' call, not a group call. She took the credit from those who thought it was a good idea, and the blame from those who did not.

Of course, several members of #safurs did do incredibly stupid things that I would have been tempted to ban for myself. But then I control a corporate IRC server, not a public IRC network, and I am expected to take an active hand in channel disputes (except for one channel set for a separate websites, which has its own administration that asks me for help occasionally).

I also agree that topics are public and reflect upon a network. The people creating #AryanFurs were looking for trouble. I wouldn't want to encourage that. Nor do I think that Simba was blameless when ''he'' was key in creating that channel. I think he should have recognized that when you are on a network, you should not get personally involved in such things. On the other hand, they were his friends, and I think the #VCL thing was silly, too - again, was an IRCOp looking for things to do. To me, this sort of action suggests a [[MeatBall:GodKing|GodKing]] situation (or Queen, I guess).

I (like quite a few of the newsgroup posters) think that ultimately the main problem here was that there were few written policies, nobody on the admin team appears to have had much of an interest in getting any together (which resulted in things festering and turning it into a direct personal conflict between Simba and Snowpony), and as a result there appears to have been (in general) a lack of agreement on policy, perhaps because nobody felt they were in a position to create it - or didn't feel it was necessary, until it was too late. It may be that Snowpony herself took action because she felt that the admin system was non-responsive to problems - but was that because nobody cared/had enough time to do anything, or because nobody felt it was a good idea, but didn't care enough to comment? It seems there was about a 50/50 split at the end, but who really knows if nobody talked about it beforehand?

Even on a wiki there are a need for written policies that are understood to be the consensus of the group, which is why I took the time to [[WikiFur:Policies and guidelines|write a few]] early on (once we'd figured out what that consensus was). I guess the irony is that the policies did get written for FurNet after all . . . it's just a shame that it took a permanent netsplit before it happened.

This is a key piece of furry IRC history, but it relates to several articles and so putting it in any one of them seems inappropriate. I therefore propose a '''separate''' article is created to describe the situations leading up to and following the server split - in fact, as that is the important thing, it might be the right title, something like [[2004 FurNet/Anthrochat split]]. This will (hopefully) reduce bias from people who feel they have to edit it towards the point of view of the current pages, or that it is overly biasing those pages, as well as reduce redundancy of information.

While thoughts of a French convention had been considered since [[Eurofurence 7]], they became a reality once [[Eurofurence 9]] was announced as being hosted in the [[wikipedia:Czech Republic|Czech Republic]], 12 hours away from France. Eighteen [[furry fan|furry fans]], who met on the Internet, had the opportunity to share their passion in real life. FranFurence is based on [[Eurofurence]]'s success and tries to follow in its footsteps (or possibly pawsteps).

The update of the site is erratic, according to the availabilities of the Webmaster, and varies between periods of great agitation, with added or increased articles all day, and periods of total apathy, when nothing occurs for weeks.

Despite the amazing work put in the FurFaq, its objectivity has never been approved in the french furry community. And the critics given to improve it in 2001 were all rejected in block by the Webmaster.

==Weird History==
His Griffox character is an hybrid part Eagle, part Fox. Born as a werewolf of Gaia in 1978, he grew up like a normal homide, rejected by human's society until his first transformation. Two years with the werewolves taught him to dislike those creatures, and he looked for ways to escape his curse. In 1999, He found a demon who accepted to replace his curse for another one. He then became a full shapeshifter thanks to a strange golden amulet offered by the demon. He adapted his shape through time to adopt more or less permanently the one of a Griffox.

==What is a griffox==
A [[Gryphon]] with a Fox part except of a Lion part, with a beak and feathers above the middle body, is a ''Gryphox'' NOT a Griffox.

Also, the Griffox isn't a Fox with Wings. A few differences can be found:

* The fur around his shoulderblades is in fact very thin black feather covering the wing arms. The wing's pits are protected by numerous grey feathers while the longest white ones can be up to four feet long and provides the main flight support.
* His cartilage bones are hollow like a bird's, making him weigh far less than usual for a Fox of his build.
* His body is virtually devoid of fat, and possesses greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary fox does, a larger neck and a stronger chest.
* His organs are protected in a large rib cage. His very thin tummy almost devoid of anything thus looking atrophied. His tail is flat and triangular, used like a rudder for his flight.
* His eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds which would hurt the average fox eye. They are extremelly sharp and are able to see the smallest of prey from afar. His ears are as large as a [[Fennec]]'s and can twist backward to make his head perfectly aerodynamic and protect his auditory canal from the wind.
* He possesses a special membrane in his respiratory system enabling him to extract oxygen from the air at high velocities or altitudes.
* Ozone flies by flapping his wings, as a bird does. Though he generally flies below the height of clouds (6,500 feet), Ozone can reach a height of 10,000 feet with little effort. With severe strain he can reach the highest recorded altitude of a bird in flight (African geese at 29,000 feet above sea level), but he can only remain that high for several minutes. He can fly nonstop under his own power for an approximate maximum of twelve hours.
* His brain is smaller than a fox and he forgets things easily after a few minutes. He's also playfull and silly, considering anybody a potential prey until proven otherwise.

:That would be the [[Fox_fursona]] article. There used to be a link to it from the Fox / Vulpine page, but after multiple edits it sems to have went missing. If you check out the [[Talk:Fox_fursona]] page, you'll see that there was a rather extensive discussion about how to incorporate information such as what is found on the [[Fox_fursona]] page into a larger [[Fox]] page. Mostly, whether there should be a lot of smaller pages, or fewer larger pages. The concensus seems to be toward fewer, larger pages, so feel free to grab whatever information you need from the other page, link to it, or whatever. [[User:K.M. Hirosaki|K.M. Hirosaki]] recently made several updates to the article, most of which were good, but I question the removal of the following statements:
*Under fennec: "They have a lot of cuteness that make them irresistable to many [[furry fan]]s."
*Under kit fox: "They too have a "cuteness" factor to them, though not as much as the fennec."
*Under grey fox: "Some furries choose the grey fox over the red fox because they find the colouration attractive, or because it is a comfortable alternative to the red fox's ubiquitous form."
I think he removed them as not fitting with the more scientific tone of the rest of the article, which I can kind of see. However, in my opinion, discussion of why particular species of fox appeal to furry fans is relevant and should be allowed to remain in the article. I am in the process of doing some massive editing of the controversy section, adding a bunch of dates, specifically, his criminal activities, when warrants were issued for his arrest in various different jurisdictions, such as Oregon, Washington, and Massachusetts, as well more details on his juvenile criminal record, which is public information in Washington State. In Washington, unless you go through a process of petitioning the court to expunge and remove the records from the court file, the juvenile records are still applicable as convictions. A lot of folk think that as soon as you turn 18 years of age, the records go away, which hasn't been the truth for almost 20 years in most US States. All information about his arrest and convictions are from public record, and these are available by request. His moves between Portland and Bellevue and back are from his appearances at furry meets in Seattle and Portland areas as a resident of those areas. The sourcing of the 17 February 2006, 7 March 2006, 5 December 2002, and 3 May 2002 comes from audio of the hearings, which will be made available to anyone who asks. The 23 March 2006 entry was from concerns that he was released early, however both VINELink and phone calls to Multnomah County Jail indicate his continued incarceration. I very strongly disagree with the request for removal of the article, or removal of his real life name. Chibiabos pointed out several good points of contention on this issue. First is the fact that he has not actually served his sentence. He is still on what's called "Post Supervision Release", which is another word for Parole in the State of Oregon, for another 3 years. This is verifiable by going to the Vinelink website, choosing Oregon, and plugging in his first and last name.

Second is the fact that even if he was not on post supervision release, him being free of post supervision is irrelevant. Sibe has posted as "Ross Reddick" in several newsgroups that is linked to within the article itself, so it would be insulting to the intelligence of the readers of the article to have a prohibition on posting his real life name and then just simply clicking on a link and finding out his real life name. Unless the Wikifur Administrators intend to start removing links and cutting out information merely for the benefit of the person doing the complaining, then they should stay.

Sibe is complaining about the article resulting in it being quite difficult to find a job merely due to the Wikifur article. Again, this is an avoidance of responsibility on Sibe's part. If HR Departments are doing Google searches in newsgroups and the web, then cutting out his real life name here in the Wikifur article isn't going to do him any good, because of his notorious postings there. HR departments are wary of hiring violent felons for good reason. His violent actions against Brian Floyd was his fault. His evasion of his warrant for his arrest for over a year is his fault. He is not a good candidate for exclusion or removal of name, and the last time we hashed it out in discussion, it was agreed that this was the case. hmm I disagree about the merge. [[Physical transformation]] refers to real life surgery, while [[Transformation]] talks about virtual, magical, stories and roleplaying about transformations. One may like TFs but refuse surgery to accomplish the transformation. I suggest a name change. Transformation exists as a kink and is often called TF in the furry community. Physical transformation is still science fiction, or not very efficient when you see current results... :I had actually been working on the water tentacle animation first, and decided to take a break from it when I came up with the idea for the Yiffing Machine video. Cray suggested a machine (he was thinking of something like Fenthis' machine just off Castro Street on Tapestries), which would be a lot faster and easier to model than creating a whole new character. I was also inspired by Rangarig's "Raplab" animations, which feature a raptor character being probed by similar machines. FranFurence convention is based on [[Eurofurence]]'s success and tries to follow in its father's footsteps (or possibly pawsteps).

FranFurence 2 was held 11-14 November 2004 in a castle, "Le domaine du Ciran", surrounded by three square kilometers of natural park. Thirty furs met, including fifteen from the previous gathering. The French furry fandom is growing fast, has its own website and Internet forum, but a lack of coherence in the core staff has slowed down their efforts.

FranFurence 3 was held in [[Wikipedia:Chambord|Chambord]] over 15-18 April 2006 and joined 37 Furries together.

==Weird History==
His Griffox character is an hybrid part Eagle, part Fox. Born as a werewolf of Gaia in 1978, he grew up like a normal homide, rejected by human's society until his first transformation. Two years with the werewolves teach him to dislike those creatures, and he looked for ways to escape his curse. In 1999, He found a demon who accepted to replace his curse for another one. He then became a full shapeshifter thanks to a strange golden amulet offered by the demon. He adapted his shape through time to adopt more or less permanently the one of a Griffox.

==What is a griffox==
A [[Gryphon]] with a Fox part except of a Lion part, with a beak and feathers above the middle body, is a ''Gryphox'' NOT a Griffox.

Also, the Griffox isn't a Fox with Wings. A few differences can be found:

* The fur around his shoulderblades is in fact very thin black feather covering the wing arms. The wing's pits are protected by numerous grey feathers while the longest white ones can be up to four feet long and provides the main flight support.
* His cartilage bones are hollow like a bird's, making him weigh far less than usual for a Fox of his build.
* His body is virtually devoid of fat, and possesses greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary fox does, a larger neck and a stronger chest.
* His organs are protected in a large rib cage. His very thin tummy almost devoid of anything thus looking atrophied. His tail is flat and triangular, used like a rudder for his flight.
* His eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds which would hurt the average fox eye. They are extremelly sharp and are able to see the smallest of prey from afar. I have added a basic timeline in the History section. I appreciate the several veteran babyfurs who responded to me privately with detailed history, but while I found them very interesting I also saw some of them to be too focused on a specific topic, and many of them contradicted one another (when and by whom the term 'Babyfurs' was coined, for example). So I instead pulled out the relevant information that I believe os accurate and compiled this timeline with details about various web pages, IRC channels, IRL gatherings, and the mailing list for babyfurs. My sources were [[Snuggems]], [[Proxima Centauri]], [[BitterGrey]], [[Swift Fox]] and my very own brain.

The dates look kind of screwy because I was searching for a way to show them in an organized way. I believe they are much easier to read now, but if an admin wants them to be in a specific format, feel free to fix it.

I don't want the timeline to remain this small. If anybody can add more pertinant dates to it, PLEASE DO! Throw in what you can, even if you think it's inappropriate or too drama-ish or whatever. If it doesn't belong, it will be corrected later on.

Grrf.. this is getting ridiculous. The entire deal is showing quite clearly the very paranoia and fear within babyfur community on being labelled pedophiles; so much so that they're condemning another sexual preference to save their own name. It's what the gays did during the pride movement in the 70's and 80's, and it's what the burned furs did in the last few years amongst other furries more kinky than them. People want to wash their hands of things when someone accuses someone of something that puts them in a compromising position. They display outward hatred toward the ideal behind the accusation, effectively labeling and outcasting someone else to save their neck.

Okay, we've had a lot of furor over this right now. Let me sum how I see that section of the article right now:
*People mistake babyfur activities as being pedophilia. This is not the same thing. I feel the new title edit makes that clear.
*Some babyfurs are interested in sex in babyfur persona, some are not. Of those, some age-play with adults, some age-play with other babyfurs.
*We can't totally say that no babyfur ever is a pedophile, because we just don't know. No one identified as a BF has ever been involved in legal action regarding sexual conduct with a minor.

I think at this point, we may need a seperate article on Age-play and how it relates to the fandom.

Sorry, but once again I'm going to have to disagree on something that was recently added:

First off, there's a typo for "babyfurs". Secondly, just because there is not a sex act being performed in the scene does not mean they aren't receiving sexual gratification from the scene. Many a time, when someone pulls off one of those diapers, you're bound to see evidence that the person's being stimulated mentally. The above statement is phrased in a way that lends to the notion that there is no sexual element involved at all, which is definately not the case. The same goes for pedophilia in many cases. Merely seeing kids playing or acting "boyish/girlish" is enough to be stimulating. (Again, not passing judgement in either AB or BL/GL issues. Simply stating the facts.)

I had a good talk with a friend of mine who is a babyfur, and has given me some insight into things. I'm going to see what people think.

A babyfur = A fur who labels themself as someone who fits into the babyfur ideals. Those ideals mean any or all of the following:

*Might or might not be into infantilism, AB/DL, or any range of various sexual interests at any varying degree.
*Ageplaying an extremely young age: birth through pre-schooler age.
*Might find their play sexual.
*Might find the age they roleplay sexual.
*Might find diapers and other paraphernilia sexual. They may wear diapers for whatever reason, whether it be for fun, to feel emotionally comforting, to be enabled sexually, or for medical conditions.
*Might not find any of the play sexual, but enjoys it on a level.
*Might talk funny ICly.
*Might talk funny OOCly.
*Might be a pedosexual, might not be.
*Might RP, might not. Might RP RL, some only online.

To me, one of the most retarded things about being human is that humans take a LONG time until they can do anything useful. They cry a lot, getting on everyone's nerves. :I would note that there's probably only so much mainstream babyfurs feel they can do about their bretheren, and it probably doesn't help if they feel that their options are siding with a group that denounces them as pedophiles or a group that soils their pants occasionally. To take a similar example, are furries more likely to want to go along with those who claim furries are all [[skunkfucker]]s, or of other members of the fandom who are just fine with them (despite seeming to have a few too many [[plush toy]]s for their age)? And if they decided it was worth the derision of those that they craved acceptance from, what exactly could they do? Stop being furry out of protest? His Griffox character is an hybrid part Eagle, part Fox. Born as a werewolf of Gaia in 1978, he grew up like a normal homide, rejected by human's society until his first transformation. Two years with the werewolves teach him to dislike those creatures, and he looked for ways to escape his curse. In 1999, He found a demon who accepted to replace his curse for another one. He then became a full shapeshifter thanks to a strange golden amulet offered by the demon. He adapted his shape through time to adopt more or less permanently the one of a Griffox.

The Griffox isn't a Fox with Wings. A few differences can be found:

* His body is virtually devoid of fat, and possesses greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary fox does, a larger neck and a stronger chest.
* His organs are protected in a large rib cage. His very thin tummy almost devoid of anything thus looking atrophied. In extension, his tail is flat and triangular, used like a rudder for his flight.
* His eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds which would hurt the average fox eye. They are extremelly sharp and are ale to see the smallest of prey form afar. His ears are as large as a fennec's and can twist backward to make his head perfectly aerodynamic and protect his auditory canal from the wind.
* He possesses a special membrane in his respiratory system enabling him to extract oxygen from the air at high velocities or altitudes.
* Ozone flies by flapping his wings, as a bird does. Though he generally flies below the height of clouds (6,500 feet), Ozone can reach a height of 10,000 feet with little effort. With severe strain he can reach the highest recorded altitude of a bird in flight (African geese at 29,000 feet above sea level), but he can only remain that high for several minutes. He can fly nonstop under his own power for a maximum of approximately twelve hours.
* His brain is smaller than a fox and he forgets things easily after a few minutes. He's also playfull and silly, considering anybody a potential prey until proven otherwise.
* And, of course, some hidden particularities only a few will discover. ;)

FranFurence convention is based on [[Eurofurence]]'s success and tries to follow in its father's footsteps (or possibly pawsteps).

FranFurence 2 was held 11-14 November 2004 in a castle, "Le domaine du Ciran", surrounded by three square kilometers of natural park. Thirty furs met, including fifteen from the previous gathering. The French furry fandom is growing fast, has its own website and Internet forum, but a lack of coherence in the core staff has slowed down their efforts.

Unofficially, it seems like the FurNation team has all but halted work on the site to focus on Second Life. Nexxus and Ratchett can be found there seemingly 24/7. Thier priorities seemed to change in the past year with FurNation's stance going from web hosting site to just being a 3D chat world in Second Life. It's been pretty visible within the community in the past.

Changes and tweaks to the FurNation Worlds Second Life areas seems to come almost daily while maintenance and support for the site take months (if not years) to complete, if at all. At AnthroCon 2005, the FurNation table showed this reflection as well, with FurNation's table hosting live demos of Second Life... and deterring their focus from selling wares, promiting the site and artists.

Numerous edits have been made to this page since the annoucement of WikiFur. These edits removed information from the page, and so were reverted. When I made the page, I tried to stick to the facts. So far, there has been no debate over them, but there is debate about whether or not they set Sibe in a fair light. There is also debate over whether his real name should be on this page.

A bunch of furries (and some Something Awful goons, I think) with the idea to just flood a channel came in, then stopped when the channel was set to "mute." After the flood stopped, one of the few responses was that it was Sibe's doing. That's just one example. Since people were looking for factual information regarding Sibe, I have provided the admins of this site with the actual photocopy scans (in PDF form) of Sibe's criminal record and other related litigation records.

On a note for some of the more privacy minded people who have commented on this disccussion. This information is freely available through the [[Wikipedia:Freedom_of_Information_Act_(United_States)|Freedom of Information Act of 1966]] and through the Privacy Act of 1974. Posting said information in a public forum or other press type format, such as this site, as a part of the [[Sibe]] article to present real and hard evidence of this person in question, is an activity which is specifically protected by the Constitution's first amendment and these two acts. Contrary to what some people have mentioned above, the posting of such information can not be legally constituted as slander because the name "Sibe" is considered a criminal alias for the purposes of identifying Mr. Ross Reddick, and because all information pertaining to such activities within his criminal record is factual. Slander must include some element of falsehood which is designed to ruin a person. Facts and truth are not slander no matter how unflattering they are. Additionally, since this information is directly pertinent to the furry community, it would be unfair in the interests of truth and neutrality to withhold or censor it. The facts should be allowed to speak for themselves, if they paint the person in a bad light then it falls upon the person in question to rectify their own actions.

Finally, if you are interested in more information about Mr. Reddick, then I suggest contacting the FBI and requesting a copy of his FBI file (Yes, one exists and is rather lengthy); contacting one of the groups whom is in currently in litigation with him, like [[Rabbit Valley Press]] or [[FurNation Press]]; or contacting the state/county that said litigation is under teh jurisdiction of.

Oh yeah, just an FYI after thought clarification on what I wrote as well: From the point of view of the law, there is a marked difference between an '''''Alias''''', and a '''''Fictional Name'''''. A fictional name is only used to refer to something which does not exist. However, a fictional name ceases being so when it is used to refer to a real person. This name association turns it into an alias, and aliases are '''not''' granted any legal right to privacy. The rationalle for placing aliases on public record and offering them no protection of privacy is to prevent the use of false or alternative names to commit acts of fraud. It is for this the very reason that a legal name change requires a court hearing in most states and one must swear under oath in front of a judge that the name change is not to defraud anyone or to commit future acts of fraud. If aliases were not covered like this, it would present an exploitable loop hole to commit fraud. Additionally, according to the law, the real world does not cease to exist just because someone's actions occur in some intangible virtual space such as IRC or Second Life. The person in the real world sitting behind the computer can be and often is held legally accountable for their actions, wether they be under a "fictional character name" or their real name. So, in closing, regardless of one's opinion on this, whether in agreement or not, it is important to understand that this precident is the one which is currently upheld within the United States judicial system. That's something to chew on and consider as a whole with regard to the whole 'name' rule for this site.

:I should point out that various furs do have valid, legitimate court orders of protection against Mr. Reddick. These furs do go to conventions, and the stipulations of several of their protection orders include "if Mr. Reddick is at the same location as the plaintiff, Mr. Reddick must leave."

The only one who does is Grey Fox Of Winter , AKA Loki Grey Coyote, aka Lonnie Wilson. That is the only "protection order" that has ever been served my person on a furrys behalf. The way Lonnie got this order was I emailed him, he responded with do not contact me anymore. Then I replied to that with "Why are you so mean?" There's also an interesting interstate aspect of things: if a court order of protection is violated across or while across state lines, it carries 5+ years of jail time in a federal prison, minimum sentence.

::: The order of protection that was gotten by myself against Ross Reddick was served by publication, and became effective on April 13th, 2005, for a period of one year. It was then personally served on Mr. Reddick on May 8th, 2005 by Officer K. Boyd of the Tukwila Police Department at Southcenter Mall in Washington State. It is actually expiring on April 13th, 2006. The service by publication was done due to his evasion of process service. The reason for service by publication is not to have him arrested from his lack of knowledge from the order, it is to keep the petitioner from having to go to court multiple times to get the temporary ex-parte order renewed over and over again due to the respondant's evasive conduct.

After that point, if he violated the terms, he is subject to arrest and contempt of court citation by the district court up here.

It could be felony level as far as other states depending on their laws of recognition of such orders from other states and how they translate into their matrix of orders of protection and punishments for violations of such, and federal law also has it's hand in it as well (going across state lines to violate orders of protection is a federal felony offense).

An Anonymous user has added information to the article under history and external links which leads to a site that, according to the "new" information in the article, contains a .torrent file which in itself allows a Bit Torrent user to download about 9GB of copyrighted material like that from Sexyfur among other sites. The same changes in the article suggest that Sibe had been banned from LJ because he refused to remove that link from his journal. If that much is true and the supporting evidence is correct, then it may be wise to remove the potentially illegal link(s) from the page to avoid any potential legal trouble. At this time, I have done so, though leaving the "written" email links in place. Edit: On second thought, after reading the emails themselves, I find them a little dubious. == Agreeing about personas ==

I'm going to have to add my input here.. We should be diligent about protecting furs who don't want their real-life information here, but at the same time, avatars and characters and such shouldn't receive as much protection, especially in situations where that avatar is "famous" in the fandom.

Since we are an encyclopedia, it is our duty to have articles on those who are "famous" within the fandom. Famous people in the fandom should be treated much like celebrities are in real-life; information about their characters and what they've done to become famous should be fair game on wikifur.
