OverGryph: /* GRPG:SE */

GRPG:SE
GRPG:SE is a sub-group of GRPG that takes place in a secluded beachside forest setting, created by Gryph and led by the character Gryph Sylvr who is the Alpha-male of the main clan in GRPG:SE. This particular RP revolves around a clan of gryphons known as the Silver Elite, and their struggle to survive against the Hunters who want to kill their breed for their teeth, which creates a very potent cerum used as a base product in many aphrodesiacs.

The Plot Thickens
Knowing this financial gain, a certain select few brute gryphons in the Silver Elite choose to sell theirselves and their lesser kin in order to make profit, seeing as the teeth can grow back in time, and the cerum is in the roots of the teeth, which can be extracted from a living specimen with careful practice.

One other motivator for a few less-than-reputable clan members is control over the astral entity known as the Chronogryphon. This being is worshipped as a deity by most members of the clan. It is rumored that the very first gryphons were crafted in the image of the Chronogryphon, so in a sense, this creature is their father. Control of the Chronogryphon can only be obtained by the righteous, and it is whoever has control of this deity that certain members of GRPG:SE seek to capture for evil purposes.

The Silver Elite
The Silver Elite, or SE is a squad of brute gryphon kin who fight to protect their clan and rule over GRPG as a whole.

*A few of the main characters in GRPG:SE are members of the Silver Elite, pictured to the right.

OverGryph:

Background
Gryph is the real life alias of of JR Simpson, creator of a race of gryphon known as brute gryphons - namely Gryph Sylvr and Bane Sylvr. Gryph himself is an Otherkin who specializes in gryphon roleplay or what he calls GRPG which takes place primarily in late-night Yahoo! conferences. He makes an excellent writer due to his intuitive belief that he is a gryphon in spirit and can relate to how they would look or act in a real world setting. He believes he is a guru of anything gryphonic or mythical in origin, hence the title "The Gryphon Lord" which turned out to be his first actual Yahoo! ID before it was hacked in the year 2001.

Art
Although Gryph excels in story writing and roleplay, he is a very confident furry artist. His work can be found on several furry websites, including Fur Affinity, Yiffstar and Elfwood.

GotM
Between the years 2001 and 2006, Gryph hosted a private GRPG forum named Gryphons of the Mist which holds over 1000 posts today. The forum could be viewed by anyone, but many players were discouraged from interrupting the RP without permission by an administrator.

Samples of Gryph's artwork may also be viewed in the photo gallery of GotM, among many other talented artists.

GRPG:SE
Gryph is the founder of an area of the Gryphon's Guild known as GRPG:SE, which houses skilled roleplayers of gryphonic origin from the Gryphon's Guild and many other places on the net.

GRPG:SE takes place in a realm known as Ayenee.

Red Flags
It must be pointed out that Gryph is a very dangerous Otherkin (clearly seen in the above image) because of the fact that he believes his body is possessed by an unstable force of gryphonic lineage which occasionally drives him to think and behave like a creature that is not exactly human or deemed unacceptable by mankind. Resisting the will of this force is a battle that Gryph's mind cannot win.

While this presence lingers in his mind body and soul at all times, it can cause major outbreaks in stressful periods where the person known as Gryph will lose complete or partial control of his sanity, which can then only be recovered by tuning out all his surroundings (he does not intend to ignore you but it is for your protection); moreover, during this stressful period, he has been known to become extremely violent and contemplate the murder and destruction of any annoyances whatsoever. Having lost a complete hold on reality and his own sanity, he also only replies to the name Gryph in these instances and sees a constant shade of red no matter what he looks. He even blacks out on occassions where complete control is lost.

Gryph has been known to use extreme mental control and talk himself down into suppressing his powerful animal spirit until he feels more socially acceptable and less dangerous around other Non-furs in public. He has luckily never committed a crime by utilizing these instance avoidance techniques. Gryph has only not been diagnosed as a psychotic because being furry is not a disease, even though dealing with Non-furs in the real world might feel like one.

Fursonas
Gryph Sylvr
Character Description
Gryph Sylvr the Gryphon Lord aka GCCE001, is the main roleplay character of Gryph. In character, Gryph is the alpha male and leader of a large clan known as the Silver Elite. His feathers are usually dyed silver to add sheer to his over-all color, which is in fact gray. His eyes share this color, and light up to a natural silver when his plumage is freshly dyed. His claws and beak fade from gray to a rich ebony black.

Character Race
Gryph's breed of gryphon is one that his player made up, Brute Gryphons formerly Dire Gryphons or Were Gryphons. In RP, the brute gryphons are the recreated versions of the very first gryphons to walk the earth, cast down from the heavens for reasons no mortal can determine. It is because they are descendants of angels that they cannot die by natural causes. They also appear much larger in stature than any typical broadwing gryphon.

Staying true to his blood line, Gryph and his brethren have an ability to transform into an Enraged form, best displayed by artist Cara Mitten's Enraged Gryphon series. Whatever their birth color, they lose all color and become pure white with piercing green eyes. An enraged brute will appear larger than his normal size, more powerful than normal and much more menacing in combat. Enraged brute gryphons act on feral instinct in this form and spare the lives of no enemy.

GRPG
In GRPG, Gryph is one of four known brute gryphons, which ironically are four main and secondary characters played by the same player.

Gryph is an avid roleplayer that can be reached for play or comment on MSN or Yahoo! Messenger under the handle "OverGryph".

Bane Sylvr
Description
Bane Sylvr aka GCCE007 is the brute gryphon son of Gryph Sylvr and a hen named Kilmera who was artificially assembled as the perfect flesh-and-blood mate for Gryph. He appears slightly taller than his father and less muscular. He carries many majestic traits from his mother and is an avid flyer. Bane is a scholar and expert mage, relying on brains and magical teachings rather than brute strength to put a fight in his favor. Bane was born with unusual power. The cracking of his eggshell resulted in the collapse of his father's den.

Chronogryphon
Bane's mentor as a hatchling was Doctor Sikal Sylvr, father of the brute gryphon race in the sense that he himself redesigned the near-extinct race through the use of genetic engineering. Sikal taught Bane much more than he could teach GCCE001, Dr. Sikal's first successful experiment. Through genes inherited by his mother GCCE006, Bane's brain became much more advanced than his race was normally equipped with. It is for this reason that he comprehended the concept of the Chronogryphon and applied it to his magical practices.

As Bane grew into his years as a young adult, he found himself blessed with the presence of the Chronogryphon, marking him as an avatar for its use. Bane quickly became an avid summoner of the Chronogryphon and has used its power to revive the dead and prevent episodes in the future from occuring. Once fully tapped into the Chronogryphon's power, Bane becomes a vessel capable of flipping through the unwritten pages of time like a simple picture book and rewriting the destiny of others. It is Bane's connection with the gryphon god that makes other gryphons worship him as a high priest.

External Links
Gryph at Elfwood<br>
Gryph on Yiffstar<br>
Gryph on Fur Affinity<br>
Gryph on The Rabbit Hole<br>
Gryph on Gryphons of the Mist

OverGryph:

: [Note: This article is still a work in progress and should not be redirected to any other place on wiki]

Brute gryphons are a strong, durable breed of gryphon created by Gryph, and thought to be originated from the very first breed of gryphon forged by the gods. It is for this reason that the brute gryphon bloodline cannot die from natural causes, although they still age but do so in a slow manner. In their prime, a brute gryphon can go thousands of years at a time without showing signs of significant aging.

Height and mass
:Brute gryphons are uniquely identified from normal gryphons because of their size difference, which allows them to tower over normal gryphons.

:*This size difference is clearly seen in the image file on the right.

:A brute gryphon's teeth resemble snake fangs but, unlike snake fangs, there are more than sixty teeth in an adult brute's mouth. Like fangs, they can be hidden inside the recesses of the maw, but they are pushed in/out through the use of a complex hydraulic system inside the beak.

Diet
A brute gryphon has an eerie diet which includes both large and small prey, including other gryphons. Any animal that cannot be swallowed hole will be eaten piece by piece until the meal is complete. Unlike normal gryphons, a brute gryphon enjoys the taste of bone, and will snap clean through it in order to taste the warm marrow within. Crunch is a sound that makes the majority of these creatures very happy with their meal.

Live or dead?
A brute gryphon will consume both live prey and carrion. Understanding the use of fire and heated meat has made brute gryphons expert scavengers of otherwise inconsumable meat after poor hunting periods. As big as they are, even large meals are difficult to satisfy these beasts and are typically shared throughout the clan in smaller portions - which is kept relatively small for this exact reason.

It is an unwritten law that feeding their young is placed before feeding themselves, but depending on the personality of the brute gryphon, it may eat its young to lessen the numbers in which it has to share its food. This is typical of a younger male brute, who may have been a bit too active with his mates.

Mating
Brute gryphons are perhaps one of the less picky species of gryphon when choosing a mate. On occasion, males and females can mate for life - commonly seen with the Alpha male and female; however, it is not frowned upon if either side chooses another temporary mate in their spouse's absence. Mating can occur year-round, but a female brute can only bear offspring during their heat, which happens once annually.

In a clan of brutes, a male may set the rest of his females in heat by releasing an oily, musky scent in his plumage to show his hens that he is prepared to bear offspring. Regardless of their differences in heat cycles, the majority of the hens in the clan may start their estrus in sync with the male. If a male finds himself outnumbered by female mates, he must follow a pecking order set in place by the females, usually from strongest to weakest or most patient. While a male is normally allowed to choose which female he wishes to mate - even the Alpha female - his freedom of choice is revoked during a clan's estrus. A stronger, more equipped female will overpower even her Alpha female to place herself at the top of the pecking order and receive her mate's best rut.

Gryph has only not been diagnosed as a psychotic because being furry is not a disease, even though dealing with Non-furs in the real world might feel like one.

External Links
Gryph at Elfwood<br>
Gryph on Yiffstar<br>
Gryph on FurAffinity<br>
Gryph on Rabbit Hole<br>
Gryph on Gryphons of the Mist

OverGryph:

Gryph

External Links
To compare your tastes with Gryph, please visit these other sites where he has left his mark.

Rabbit Hole

FurAffinity

Gryphons of the Mist

OverGryph

OverGryph:

If Gryph Sylvr should be merged with Gryph, then Bane Sylvr should also be merged, since they are different characters that their creator can relate to in real life. The reason that none of these topics should be merged is as simple as pointing out that OOC, Gryph is an Otherkin and does not consider his OOC fursona to identify with his character 100%. In real life, Gryph does not view himself as his creation, Gryph Sylvr. Gryph views himself as a creation that Gryph Sylvr was based upon. This is why there is not yet a page built to describe Sikal Sylvr, Gryph Sylvr's father.

In fact, Gryph only started calling himself that because he needed a nickname OOC and his main character was called Gryph. Ironically, his main character was given that nickname in RP because he was a nameless Gryph(on). In a sense, OverGryph is called Gryph OOC by his close friends because he roleplays a gryphon nicknamed Gryph; moreover, in RP and clearly shown on his wiki page, Gryph's actual name is GCCE001.

Very many noticable differences rest between the two characters and are clearly noted on each page in the wiki.
OverGryph:

If Gryph Sylvr should be merged with Gryph, then Bane Sylvr should also be merged, since they are two different characters that their creator can relate to in real life. These are two characters that are roleplayed by the person that is called Gryph out of character. The reason that none of these topics should be merged is as simple as pointing out that OOC, Gryph is an Otherkin and does not consider his OOC fursona to identify with his character 100%. Very many noticable differences rest between the two characters and are clearly noted on each page in the wiki. It is stressed that each of these pages remain on its separate page because there is plenty of unrelated material on each page expressing these notable differences.
OverGryph: /* Live or dead? */

Brute Gryphons
[Note: This article is still a work in progress and should not be redirected to any other place on wiki]

Brute gryphons are a strong, durable breed of gryphon created by Gryph, and thought to be originated from the very first breed of gryphon forged by the gods. It is for this reason that the brute gryphon bloodline cannot die from natural causes, although they still age. In their prime, a brute gryphon can go thousands of years without appearing much older.
