This article should not be a disambiguation page by default. There are over 600 references to this page at the time of this writing. It's obvious most of these are supposed to point to the article about the species, but since there are so many even a semi-automatic search & replace is rather out of the question.

It's not very user-friendly to have 600 links pointing to a disambiguation page and thus requiring two clicks for the user to reach the page they were looking for. The few cases where something else than the species is being linked to can be covered by the "See disambiguation page for other uses" notice in the head of the article.
