Mtext: more background details

Dnapalmhead (or DNA for short, and sometimes (incorrectly) DNApalmhead) is a writer and artist, dealing almost exclusively in anthro-macrophilic themes. An avid growth/giant lover, his works cover a range of sizes, with written and drawn characters ranging from Godzilla-sized to planet-sized, and well beyond.

His online persona (or fursona) is a scalie, a 444-foot tall, size-changing hybrid dragon, mixing the features of rabbits, wolves, lizards, and kangaroos into one. While he seems to have a preference for dragons, other species are also constantly explored and depicted in his works, with a moderate balance between both male and female genders.

Most of his work ranges from clean to soft-core, though he has done some explicit/adult work as well. His style tends towards black-and-white pencil, with some occasional ink. His only consistently-inked work is his ongoing macro/megamacro comic "Free Lunch" series, whereas almost all of his normal work is done only in pencil and, very rarely, pencil-crayon. His style is especially notable for its extreme attention to detail.

A member of the anthro-macro community since 2002, he has spent most of his time popping off and on, constantly appearing and disappearing in various forums online, and leaving a trail of growth-themed lunacy in his wake. Originally a Texas fur, he has recently (late 2007) returned to Austin.

Major works
Individual commissions, stories, multi-part comics and pictures could all formerly be found on his webpage, originally hosted by Xendrian Dragon, but the site vanished some time ago with no word on a replacement. Currently, most images (including the complete Free Lunch comic to date) are still available at FurAffinity and Macrophile.com.

His written works deal almost completely in macrophilic fanfics covering TV shows and video games alike, from stories with characters from the Free Willy and Tasmania animated series, to Poke-/Digimon, to the Super Smash Bros. video game characters, etc.

Stories
* Super Smash Bros. A ten-part growth epic featuring many of Nintendo's flagship anthro characters, most notably StarFox's Fox McCloud and Mario's Bowser, as well Pokemon's villainous Mewtwo. The story (such as it is) revolves around the effects of "giga-mushrooms" which are like the growth-inducing Super Mushrooms from the Mario series, but infinitely more powerful. Several reversals occur as Bowser and StarFox try to outgrow each other (and outgrow the universe many times over), with Mewtwo scheming to sap enough energy to overtake and outgrow them both while a crew of other characters (also growing at various rates) try to stop him. The story is perhaps most notable for its use of Very Large Numbers, such as Quinquacentillion (or 10 with 1,503 zeroes after it).

* Way To Go, Einstein is a three-part story written for Cetas featuring the non-anthro dolphin Einstein from the Free Willy animated series. In the story, he's exposed to an experimental ray that causes him to grow whenever he's in contact with water, which, being a dolphin, leads to predictable results. This story, as well as Super Smash Bros., are completely non-sexual, though macro-fans may obviously appreciate them differently.

Comics
* Free Lunch, an ongoing comic (up to 62 parts as of November 2007) has been running in a kind of slow online syndication since 2003 on varying forums, starting back at Lofty Bearing and the DNA Independent website, then passing on through Macrophile.com, and currently residing at Fur Affinity. The comic, though built around a sci-fi story, mostly consists of a near-nonstop string of growth spurts shared by the two main characters, a nameless male lizard and a female sea horse scientist named Bliss, as they steadily mutate and outgrow more and more of the world. As of the most recent page, the pair are easily visible from space.

* Big Gulp, a brief 9-image sequence of weight-gain gone mad, done in conjunction with Tombfyre Dragon around 2002. The series showcases inflation as well as straight-up growth. It consists of the giant DNA positioned next to a cliff, as a series of food-trucks dump their goods into his ever-growing mouth while his body balloons around him. At least two flash-animated versions of the series have been released, here and here.

* There is also an as-yet-unnamed comic of which four very sketchy pages were apparently 'leaked' onto the net in the early 2000's (though they were also hosted on his website), involving muscle inflation and progressive mutation of a creature apparently too powerful for his own (or certainly everybody else's!) good. The dialogue in the comic suggests a lot of story both before and after the 4 pages (which included page numbers in the low 200's), but how much more there actually is remains unclear. According to a recent FurAffinity journal, these may finally see the light of Internet day!

* D.S., an abbreviation of "Diamond Skies", has so far been revealed only in a brief 6-page comic-style teaser. From what little has been posted so far, it seems to revolve around a human girl stuck in a world of furry creatures and, sure enough, giants. Not much is known about the project at this time, as the teaser was released back in 2002.
::I think this category is plain silly; next are we going to split all furs up by homosexual, bi, hetereo, etc.? I mean, I can understand pointing out significant artists (i.e. Winger is definitely relevant to hyperfur art, and should be "see also"'d) but it doesn't deserve a category. And also, it is private. I have my fetishes, but I don't want to be defined by them. I would consider it different if I was a well-known fetish artist. *Personally, I don't think listing someone as a hyperfur is a whole lot different than identifying someone as a macrofur or microfur... in most cases, hyperness is a matter of such blatant degree that it's just a plain (and therefore categorizable) fact of the character. Also, knowing most of the names currently on the list personally, I can say with fair confidence that none of them would be in any way ashamed to be listed on a page like this. --Mtext 10:13, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Hypertrophilia, also known as hypersexuality, is used to describe some (especially macrophilic) people's attraction -- emotionally and/or sexually -- to hyper-endowed characters, or characters represented in any medium with over-exaggerated (i.e. impractically-large) erogenous areas or sexual characteristics. It is not exclusively a furry phenomenon, although it seems much more open and prevalent within the fandom than outside it.

Hyper-endowed (or hyper-sexed) furs have massively exaggerated sexual characteristics, such as penises or breasts that are equal to or larger than their entire body size, or, if hermaphroditic (of which a disproportionately large number of hyperfurs seem to be), both. These details can and often are also combined with hugely-exaggerated muscles or an enormous tail, feet, or paws. Such characters are often referred to as hyperfurs. They are distinct from plain macro characters (a giant whose whole body is proportionally larger), or inflatable characters, although there is a significant overlap between the three.

The Mark Stretch Gallery Of The Unusual (or MSGOTU) featured a large archive of art and stories depicting truly extreme hyper-endowed characters (primarily though not entirely female), but the site has been intermittently offline, most recently from mid-2007 to the present.

Mtext: /* Common types of hermaphrodites */ typo-fixes, clarifications, misc additions

Cleanup
: This article is about the term hermaphrodite as used in a furry context. For information on non-furry uses of the term, please see the Wikipedia entry on hermaphrodite. For more on real-life humans with both male or female sexual characteristics (intersexuals), please see intersexed at Wikipedia.

A hermaphrodite is a creature that has both male and female sex organs. The word is commonly abbreviated as herm or hermaph. It is derived from the Greek myth about Hermaphroditus, the son of deities Hermes and Aphrodite, who was merged with the water nymph Salmacis into a hermaphroditic form. Hermaphrodite is analogous to the Japanese term futanari used in anime fandom.

Common types of hermaphrodites
Most herms found in furry fandom are represented as overtly female figures with both male and female primary sexual characteristics. The female characteristics tend to be exaggerated, often to the point of hyper-endowment, with extremely large breasts, hips, and a feminine face.

Some hermaphrodite furs are androgynous; they don't look particularly male or female, but rather a seamless blend of the sexes throughout, possessing both male and female reproductive organs. There are also some (relatively few) masculine herms who appear mostly or entirely male, but also have female sex organs behind their male genitalia.

Many herm furs are tauric in shape, and may sometimes be hermaphroditic with differing sexual characteristics on their upper and lower bodies. The Chakat race is an example of a hermaphroditic centaur-like species. Exotic furs such as aliens, demons, shapeshifters, or even plants are sometimes hermaphroditic.

Hermaphroditic furs are often portrayed as blatantly sexualized and are frequently hyper-endowed. Indeed, a disproportionately-large number of hyper-fans also seem to play herm characters some or all of the time. However, not all herms are necessarily overtly sexual. There are those who are either sexually inactive, disinterested, or have different reasons for portraying a hermaphroditic character than simple sexual fascination.

Shemales and Cunniboys
A shemale fur is one with a female appearance, but only male primary sex organs (a penis and testicles, but no vagina). Conversely, male-appearing furs with only female sexual organs, often called cunniboys, are rare within the fandom, and are mainly represented by Thysra and Dreke. Note that shemales and cunniboys are transgendered, not hermaphrodites, as they do not possess both sets of genitals.

Pronouns
The English language lacks a standard set of pronouns sufficient to cover hermaphrodites, and so the proper pronoun for a herm fur can vary considerably and often depends on that fur's personal choice. Some herms whose forms appear primarily female use female personal pronouns, as do many shemales furs, while masculine herms may be inclined to use male pronouns.

Also common are neologic pronouns such as hir, hie, sie, and ze. Examples of these pronouns are shown on the following table:

He || He laughed || I kissed him || His head hurts || I am his || He feeds himself
She || She laughed || I kissed her || Her head hurts || I am hers || She feeds herself
Hie || Hie laughed || I kissed hem || Hiz head hurts || I am hiz || Hie feeds hemself
Sie and hir || Sie laughed || I kissed hir || Hir head hurts || I am hirs || Sie feeds hirself
Ze and hir || Ze laughed || I kissed hir || Hir head hurts || I am hirs || Ze feeds hirself
Zie || Zie laughed || I kissed zir || Zir head hurts || I am zirs || Zie feeds zirself

Many sets of pronouns originated as gender-neutral pronouns, although hermaphrodites are not themselves neuter; a slightly more accurate term is androgynous pronoun.

* The pronoun sie is often replaced with shi within the fandom.
* Users of the hie set often substitute him, or even hiem in object case.

Hermaphrodites in artwork
Hermaphrodites are not uncommon in furry artwork, and some artists specialize in drawing herm furs. The most prominent artist of hermaphrodites is Doug Winger, whose extreme proportions have spawned terms such as Winger Girls, Wingeresque, and Wingerized.

Many other artists draw herm furs, including FoxxFire, Orena, Thumbclawz, Marc Leonhardt, AraKaraath, Kaye Darktail and countless others who have done works that depict herms ranging from busty babes with manly bulges to the truly androgynous creatures of history and mythology.

Herms appear in many art sites such as the VCL, FurAffinity, SheezyArt, and futanari.org.

Online locations for herm furs
Herms can be found in quite a few areas throughout the fandom, including hermsyiff on (IRC) and yiffy.net. The Hermaphrodite Havens on FurryMUCK, Tapestries MUCK, SPR, and Second Life are social areas devoted to herms and those who enjoy their company.

* Way To Go, Darwin (note: name may not be correct) is a three-part story featuring the non-anthro dolphin Darwin from the Free Willy animated series. In the story, he's exposed to an experimental ray that causes him to grow whenever he's in contact with water.

* Big Gulp, a brief 9-image sequence of weight-gain gone mad, showcasing inflation as well as straight-up growth. It consists of the giant DNA positioned next to a cliff, as a series of food-trucks dump their goods into his ever-growing mouth while his body balloons around him.

One particlarly notable hyperfur artist is Doug Winger; indeed, a character endowed with very extremely exaggerated sexual organs is sometimes said to have been Wingerized.

Hypertrophilia, also known as hypersexuality, is used to describe some (especially macrophilic]]) people's attraction -- emotionally and/or sexually -- to hyper-endowed characters, or characters represented in any medium with over-exaggerated (i.e. impractically-large) erogenous areas or sexual characteristics.

One particlarly notable hyperfur artist is Doug Winger; indeed, a character endowed with very extremely exaggerated sexual organs is sometimes said to have been Wingerized.

Other well-known hyperfur artists include Gideon Hoss, NuDog, ThunderPaws, Lunarwolf Moonphaser, Kjartan Arnorsson, Sephiroth Ebonblade, StupidGit, and the late Stellos among numerous others.
Metamor Keep is a longish running story universe that started on the TSA-Talk mailing list.

It is a world of magic and war, with the background of a powerful wizard trying to take control of the fortress that is the keep.

Three spells cast on the fortress gates in an attack caused people there to transform. The first gate's spell was age regression, the second gate was transgender, and the third gate was transformation into an animal.

Counter spells helped lessen the effects, but anyone spending more then a week in the keep or area around it will find one of the spells will affect them, with random effects.

On the 22nd of November 2007, the MK Universe will be 10 years old with well over three-hundred stories and still going strong.
Dnapalmhead (or DNA for short, and sometimes (incorrectly) DNApalmhead), is a writer and artist, dealing almost exclusively in anthro-macrophilic themes.

His style tends towards black-and-white pencil, with some occassional ink. One of the only works that maintains inking is his "Free Lunch" series, an ongoing macro/megamacro comic, whereas almost all of his normal work is in pencil and, very rarely, pencil-crayon.

Currently, most are still available at FurAffinity and Macrophile.com.

* Way To Go, Darwin (note: name may not be correct) is a three-part story featuring the non-anthro dolphin Darwin from the Free Willy animated series. In the story, he's exposed to an experimental ray that causes him to grow whenever he's in contact with water.

* Big Gulp, a brief 9-image sequence of weight-gain gone mad, showcasing inflation as well as straight-up growth. It consists of the giant DNA positioned next to a cliff, as a series of food-trucks dump their goods into his ever-growing mouth while his body balloons around him.

Rogue is surprisingly web-savvy, having kept a home page for many years - it passed 100,000 hits in January 2001, 200,000 in August 2002, and 500,000 on 6 April 2005. Since December 2004 he also has a LiveJournal.

He has made consistent claims to have coined the actual term "Macrophilia", of which Rogue's website and character are examples.

<!-- Some suggest that Rogue's real life player is Uncle Kage. I don't personally know if this is true or not, but the characters are separate, have separate websites, and so I think they should remain unlinked. --GreenReaper -->
Currently, most are still available at FurAffinity and Macrophile.com.

* Way To Go, Darwin (note: name may not be correct) is a three-part story featuring the non-anthro dolphin Darwin from the Free Willy animated series. In the story, he's exposed to an experimental ray that causes him to grow whenever he's in contact with water.

* Big Gulp, a brief 9-image sequence of weight-gain gone mad, showcasing inflation as well as straight-up growth. It consists of the giant DNA positioned next to a cliff, as a series of food-trucks dump their goods into his ever-growing mouth while his body balloons around him.

His style tends towards black-and-white pencil, with some occassional ink. One of the only works that maintains inking is his "Free Lunch" series, an ongoing macro/megamacro comic, whereas almost all of his normal work is in pencil and, very rarely, pencil-crayon.

The comic, though containing a story, is mostly a near-nonstop string of growth spurts, shared by the two main characters (a nameless lizard and a sea horse scientist named Bliss), as they steadily mutate and outgrow more and more of the world.
* D.S., an abbreviation of "Diamond Skies", has so far been revealed only in a brief kind of comic-style teaser. From what little there is to be gleaned, it seems to revolve around a human girl stuck in a world of furry creatures and, sure enough, giants. Not much is known about the project at this time, though the teaser was released all the way back in 2002.

Dnapalmhead
----
cleanup
Dnapalmhead (sometimes DNApalmhead or DNA for short), is a writer and artist, dealing almost exclusively in anthro-macrophilic themes.

Most of his work ranges from clean to soft-core, with a heavy emphasis on black-and-white pencil, and some occassional ink. One of the only works that maintains inking is his "Free Lunch", a small, ongoing macro/megamacro comic, whereas almost all of his normal work is in pencil.

A member of the anthro-macro community since 2002, he has spent most of his time popping off and on, constantly appearing and disappearing in various forums online, and leaving a trail of growth-themed lunacy in his wake. Originally a Texas fur, he has recently returned to Austin.

Major works
Individual commissions, stories, multi-part comics and pictures could all formerly be found on his webpage, originally hosted by Xendrian Dragon but the site vanished some time ago, with no word on a replacement. Currently, most are still available at FurAffinity and Macrophile.com.

His written works deal almost completely in macrophilic fanfics covering shows and video games alike, from stories with characters from the Free Willy animated series, to Digimon, to the Super Smash Bros. video game characters, etc.
:However, as a group, "Those others not specifically named" seems to be fairly large. :More or less, it's a placing/ranking of popular speicies. Should we call them hybrids? Yes, I certainly DO think that 'others' should either be last on the list, or that pounced needs more speicies. ~Mix.

::No, because Other doesn't necessarily imply hybrids. They could be a single species, just not popular enough to garner their own category (for example, a zebra)
