Mrs Feathers: /* Preview vs Save */

Preview vs Save
Hallo, thanks for your recent edits, but please use the "Preview" button vs the "Save" one. Continuously "saving" while editing floods the "Recent Changes" page, moving articles being worked on out of the page queue. "Preview" shows your changes within the editing page. Hope this helps. - Spirou (talk) 21:31, 18 August 2023 (EDT)

Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention. I was unaware that the recent edits was an important tool as I'm quite a novice at editing pages, but I will keep this in mind on further editing! Mrs Feathers (talk) 22:08, 18 August 2023 (EDT)

History
Furry Refuge started with a Minecraft server hosted by Miss Moth in 2006 which attracted a social group around it which came to be known over the years as MothNet. They expanded to cover different social topics on w:IRC and then later moving to w:Telegram where they changed their name to Furry Refuge to sound more welcoming as their mission is to give furs an online community that is all-inclusive online space for everyone. This includes chatrooms based on telegram and discord, games like Minecraft and Starbound, as well as more abstract services hosted for the community such as an w:Asterisk PBX for their group Tech Furs to play with and develop as a community effort. While this community is small, its close-knit and welcoming.

Community Fun
Furry Refuge's own Audio Furs chat is welcoming not just for new furry music artists, but also for makers as in it, is a community that have fun making different kinds of speakers from experimental stuff such as EMF loops in clear plastic sheets.
The Single-Furs chat has proposed "speed dating" sessions to entertain furs looking for partners.
Motor Furs has various car projects going as well.

Their chats can be accessed via telegram, discord, or even matrix. invite links are found on their website or through https://telegram.furryrefuge.com and https://discord.furryrefuge.com

Hosted games
Their website at https://furryrefuge.com has a full game server list that includes Minecraft, 7days to die, Rust, and others. The community also appears to be active on VRChat since they have a "Furry Refuge" group on VRChat as long as their own world.

Social Network
Furry Refuge Social is a mastodon instance for Furry Refuge that kicked off over the whole Elon Musk Twitter Scare and has been gaining users since late 2022. There is an app called Furry Refuge Social available in the app store for android, but it is still being worked on by the Tech Furs Chat. It is accessed with https://social.furryrefuge.com

An instance of Matrix is also hosted by the community which you can find here https://matrix.furryrefuge.com and is open to public use.

Radio Station
Furry Refuge Radio is a community effort online radio station that plays only furry music or sets from furry DJs. Their mission is to create a stronger sense of community by showing off the accomplishments of the furry community through furry music, furry podcasts, furry DJs, and other types of furry media. WeFurries — Russian portal, which is the project of revival of what was on Furry.ru. WeFurries project began life back in 2007 and at one point was a forum FURRY.all-forum.net. After that the original idea has undergone several changes and amendments. The rapid development of "УкрФурька" (UkrFurka, WUFF) began after 2010, when an attempt was made to launch furry radio.

Somewhat of a successor to Furry News (Russia) and Hugs.

Betsie Blossum

Mrs Feathers: clickable link to Drake Fenwick

cleanup

Betsie Blossum, aka Milk Maiden, is a female anthropomorphic cow (Holstein breed). Her first appearance was as a character on the original SuperMegaTopia muck, played by her creator. Originally, the character was created as more of a joke. But, since then the character has become rather popular with those that have encountered her, she has since spread to a number of other mucks, including the SMT Blue muck and Tapestries.

History
While her current situation may depend on where she's found at the time, her original history from the SMT muck is as follows. At the age of 10, Betsie's family was killed in a tragic fire at their country home. Afterwards, the young bovine was placed in an orphanage. During a field trip to the infamous SMT Labs, an attack by the local terrorist group ended up with Betsie being knocked into a vat of chemicals which were meant to be thrown out, as is customary at the labs. This lead to the young girl developing rather unusual powers. Since this wasn't a very uncommon occurrence for the labs, she decided to try being a super hero, but found that it really wasn't her calling, and has since been doing it only part-time. Now, around the age of 21, she lives a mostly quiet life in the city, running a small ice cream business for income.

Powers
As a result of her accident at the labs, she has developed a very curious power. Since cows are most associated with their milk, her's has the strange power of having almost magical effects on those that drink it, depending on what she last ate. For instance, if she had eaten marshmallows, her milk would cause someone to grow in size, while shortcake would result in someone shrinking. Most of these effects are the result of eating something sweet, though there's no real limit to the number of different effects foods could create in her milk.

Aside from this main power, the only other abilities she possesses are what one would expect from a bovine. Another fact is that depending on how recently she's milked herself, her bust changes size, often resulting in the plump cow needing to find a replacement shirt quickly.

Physical Apperance
Species: Cow (Holstein)

Age: around 21

Gender: Female (usually)

Height: 5 foot even

Weight: around 200 pounds or so

Eyes: Brown

Hair: Blond, short, and curly

Fur: Short, white with black splotches

Horns: Small, curved, and white

Alternate Apperances
On Tapestries Muck, Betsie more or less appears as she does in SuperMegaTopia, except her life has taken a slightly different path. She has a grown daughter named Shelley, a half-cow/half-fox, the result of a short affair. She lives at home with her maid, Eponine, a cream-colored rabbit who she is in love with.

Bestie has also appeared in the game World of Warcraft. Here she is, of course, a female Tauren warrior. The WoW incarnation of Betsie has even appeared on the SMT Blue muck, the result of another accident at the labs resulting in the bodies of the two Betsies being switched.

Trivia Facts
Her two favorite characters from Crushed are Red Stephie and Purity.

Her two favorite characters from SuperMegaTopia are Delilah and SheMale.

The SuperSoaker she sometimes carries is loaded with milk rather than water.

There's a bit of a debate on weather she has hooves or feet. The official position is that she wears sneakers.

She is often known for having four nipples on each breast, rather than one nipple or an udder.

Favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla, since it goes with everything.

Her family is of Scottish descent, their name being changed from McBlossum by her great grandfather.

She was originally supposed to be a druid, but ended up being a warrior in WoW cause it was easier for her player.

Sometimes, she chews cud when she's nervous.

Once bought a Warhammer Lizardman army online and ended up getting an army of real lizardmen by mistake, who all thought she was their high priestess.

She is noted as saying, "Cows are always under-rated. Never enough love for the moo moos."

Tends to get angry with people that make jokes about steaks, hamburgers, or how all cows are fat.

Fur Valleys

2023-08-18T13:35:29Z

Mrs Feathers: fixed a typo

The Fur Valleys (often known as "The Valleys") are a group of island simulations (also known as "regions" or inaccurately as "sims") within Second Life. The Valleys in Second Life are located in the southwestern area of the grid.

__TOC__
History
The first region in this chain, Fox Valley, was created as a private island in November 2005 by Costello in order to form a furry area apart from Dreamland, due to a difference of opinions between RedFox and Anshe Chung. In 2006, Kithylin Perth ordered 2 sims(Wolf Valley & Tiger Valley) which were attached to Fox Valley, creating the heart of the Valley continent. Wolf Valley was sold to Mako Minogue in June of 2006(It continues to be primarily a residential region featuring a beach hangout, an art gallery and Bunny Brewster's "Bunnythedral", which is one of the oldest builds in the entire continent), Tiger Valley was sold to Foxkin Impfondo, and Fox Valley remained with Redfox

At the height of its creation, the Fur Valleys contained 44 regions furs could explore and enjoy. In 2009, Jack Linden increased region prices, eliminated the Non-Profit break, and had all void sims converted over to either homesteads or open spaces. This led to a checkerboard pattern as the change forced several regions to go offline, and in some cases created islands stranded out in the middle of nowhere. Region prices have since been reduced. As of 3/10/2017 all regions owned by Foxkin have been taken offline due to his death in February 2017.

Continents
Around 2019 the valleys started to resemble two continents consisting of Redfox's Fox Valleys to the south, and what was left of the original valley sims to the north. Sometime in the middle of 2019, Serenity Woods moved away and joined the FOX regions. Around this time six regions showed up to form a middle continent. These regions do not have Valley attatched to them. They are: Evershift, Monster, ZigZag, Rapter Isle, and Cheetopia. Evershift is a roleplay region and Rapter Isle is a sandbox. Monster mysteriously went offline and has remained so as of 12/2020. Around March 2020 Vixen Valley showed up at the end of Fox Valley Forest and is owned by Redfox Costello.

Furry Refuge, is an online gaming community and online social community based in United States that hosts Furry Refuge Radio Station as well as the popular Furry Refuge Minecraft.

The radio is accessable at https://radio.furryrefug.com or through a radio app created by the community at https://app.furryrefuge.com which leads to a google play site for download of their radio or social apps.
