Tigon

2017-03-22T13:54:14Z

Missisabella: /* See also */

The Tigon is a hybrid cross between a male tiger and a female lion. Thus, it has parents with the same genus but of different species. The tigon is not currently as common as the converse hybrid, the liger; however, in the late 19th[year needed] and early 20th centuries, Gerald Iles wrote that he had been able to obtain three tigons, but he had never seen a liger.
The tigon's genome includes genetic components of both parents Tigons can exhibit visible characteristics from both parents:[1] they can have both spots from the mother (lions carry genes for spots—lion cubs are spotted and some adults retain faint markings) and stripes from the father. Any mane that a male tigon may have will appear shorter and less noticeable than a lion's mane and is closer in type to the ruff of a male tiger. It is a common misconception that tigons are smaller than lions or tigers. They do not exceed the size of their parent species because they inherit growth-inhibitory genes from the lioness mother, but they do not exhibit any kind of dwarfism or miniaturization; they often weigh around 180 kilograms (400 lb).

This cross-breeding (between tiger and lioness) can cause difficulties during pregnancy because a tiger is a bigger cat than a lion.

Haroku Shikoa

2017-03-22T13:49:58Z

Missisabella:

cleanup
Haroku Shikoa, aka "Ember Skunk", born Haroku Rain Shikoa is an Engineer and Landscaper born in 1990. He currently lives in Texas. Raised in a family that was disgusted by furs, he did not come into the furry community until after high school. He was raised in Colorado for half of his life as the child of a mechanic and a retail store clerk, and moved to Texas after the death of his youngest sister. From an early age, he loved to work with machines, and went into the field of engineering at age 15 as his father's co-worker. After graduation, he moved to northeastern Texas and set up a small repair shop in order to pay his bills, and currently is enrolled in college. He has been shown to have an unnatural fixation with foxes, in particular the yellow fox Digimon known as Renamon, and does not think of her as an "overplayed character". Openly admits to being a lover of inflatable objects and plushies, they remind him of "parallelism". He always wears a blue tuque with red stripes and a red pom-pom that he calls his "Tough Guy's Tuque", both the colors and name are references to Team Fortress 2 and the Heavy's unlockable headgear of the same name (albeit spelled "toque" instead).

Fursona
Haroku uses a hybrid Skunk/Rabbit/Dragon fursona that is named after himself. His fursona can be described as a long-and-lop-eared scentless skunk with red markings instead of white. He is most commonly seen wearing Steampunk-style clothing or all-out leather engineering gear, though he is never seen without a pair of goggles on. Haroku can be found on Furcadia, commonly visiting The Sleazy Ferret. He is best characterized by his "swinging wrench", which is played straight in the form of a pipe wrench swung at people as a way of playing around. His fursona gets the nickname "Ember Skunk" from a natural obsession with flames and a natural resistance to fire.

The Genetic Ebb and Flow
Haroku's body, while standardly a skunk, is known to have an ebb and flow where his genetics strengthen and weaken by different measures. Shortly before August, it is at a flow period, rendering him an effeminate Skunkdragon (furred dragon, skunk pattern). October gets the ebb of this, leaving him "Skabbit" with an intense Schadenfreude complex. During the Skabbit Ebb, his appearance is more raptor-esque and built like an arrow. He is once again himself at the break of mid-December. Interactions with others during the ebb and flow can be varied and possibly hostile.

Video game interests
Haroku is primarily into FPS and RPG games due to the interactivity and immersion presented by the genres. He is noted to be a fan of the Fallout, Halo, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Call of Duty, Half-Life, and Left 4 Dead franchises. Most commonly, he is found to play Team Fortress 2 in his spare time. Haroku prefers games with some challenge to them, and dislikes games you can complete in under 5 hours due to their simplicity and usual lack of storyline and immersion. He tends to use the name "HarokuShikoa" or "Ember Skunk" for online multiplayer games.

Career
Haroku is a small-jobs engineer for a local repair shop, specializing in electric devices and transportation. As a side-job, he is a private landscaper and gardener.

Hobbies
Haroku's hobbies consist of gardening, tinkering with broken machines, playing on Furcadia, building small machines, listening to 2 the Ranting Gryphon, and playing baseball. He is able to play the guitar, but does not do so regularly. Haroku used to record brief instruction videos on how to perform small repair jobs.

Future Plans
Haroku plans on becoming a regular visitor of furry conventions and hopes to one day bring together all the local repressed furs in order to spread the influence of the fandom.

Scooby-Doo

2017-03-22T09:32:07Z

Missisabella:

Scooby-Doo is a long-running American animated cartoon produced from 1969 to the present. The format, cast and artistic style of the show has been altered dramatically over the years; however most - if not all - of the shows contain the protagonist, a Great Dane named Scoobert "Scooby" Doo, and an array of human characters, prominently Scooby's best friend Norville "Shaggy" Rodgers. The show contains a number of anthropomorphic animals, primarily dogs.

Main characters
*Scooby-Doo is a brown Great Dane with black spots and a large appetite, particularly for Scooby Snacks. He can talk, however can have difficulty speaking and usually begins words with an "R" sound. Scooby primarily walks on all-fours (a quadruped) however has shown the ability to walk upright with ease (a biped).
*Scrappy-Doo, Scooby-Doo's younger nephew, is a headstrong puppy who regularly wants to engage the villains they encounter in a fight, only to be pulled away by his uncle and Shaggy. Unlike Scooby, Scrappy can talk without hindrance.
*Scooby-Dum is a grey Great Dane and cousin to Scooby-Doo. He is dim-witted dog who longs to be a detective.

Zoophilia

2017-03-22T09:19:17Z

Missisabella:

cleanup
wikify
unreferenced
context

Zoophilia is a technical term for the sexual attraction of humans to feral animals.

It has been increasingly used in popular and furry culture as an alternative to the term bestiality, because it stresses orientation over acts, and is usually regarded as less prejudicial. (For more information on the context and use of the techical term, see: Paraphilia.)

It is common misconception that furries are lovers of animals, and (by extension) zoophiles. It is true that a significant proportion of erotic furry artwork and stories involve beings with animal characteristics having sex with each other, or with humans, but it should be noted that the participants are usually anthropomorphic beings.

While some furries are zoophiles, the two terms are not synonymous. Most furries do not have any sexual interest in animals in real life, though some may roleplay otherwise in a fantasy scenario.

Self-Identified Zoophiles versus bestiality
Most people who identify themselves as zoophiles distinguish between zoophilia and bestiality. Though some zoophiles choose to engage in sexual contact with their animal companions, not all do. Zoophiles state that they are lovers of animals, and that sexual contact, when it is done, is an extension of a deeper emotional and perhaps spiritual relationship with the animal, similar in character to the sexual expression between human companions.

They sometimes refer to those who have sexual contact with animals without emotional bonds as "beasties," or, more often, "rapists." Zoophiles may draw attention to the distinction between bestiality (an act), and Zoophilia (a sexuality), and to the view that those who have sexual contact with animals without an emotional connection are not zoophiles.

Some self-identified zoophiles also use the term to refer to anyone with the kind of emotional bonds they stress as distinguishing them from bestialists, including those who have no sexual contact with or interest in animals.

An analysis of data from the Furry Survey suggests that one in six furries self identify as zoophiles.

ZooWiki
Ratchet & Clank

2017-03-22T08:54:05Z

Missisabella:

Ratchet & Clank is an action platformer game designed by Insomniac Games. It was originally released for the Playstation 2 console in the USA on November 4, 2002 and has since had twelve other titles in the franchise spread over PS2, PS3 and PS4, two mobile games, and a movie. It has grown into one of the three most popular platformer franchises for the Playstation 2, along with Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper.

The game features a character named Ratchet, a member of a fictional furry species called the lombax, which has large pointed ears, stripes, and a tail with a puffball tip. He carries his sidekick, a robot called Clank, on his back. Ratchet can collect a variety of weapons including bombs, a blaster, a flame thrower, and a bazooka. He can also collect a number of gadgets that allow him to perform various stunts and solve puzzles, such as magnetic boots and a grappling hook. It is established in 2007's Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction that Ratchet is the last of his race in the universe (seemingly clearing up a misconception that Angela Cross, from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, was also a lombax, as many fans believed, but an in-game news cast in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time tells that she actually is a Lombax.); the rest of his race escaped into an alternate dimension to avoid destruction.

While the game features characters that are considered 'furry' by the fandom, it is unlikely that they were created with furries in mind.

Characters
* Clank: This robot is a pint-size adept generated in an apparent processing error by a factory which produces combat and security robots. He starts the game by slipping out of a dispensing chute and stealing a spaceship. Unfortunately, he is pursued and shot down, crash-landing on planet Veldin near Ratchet's home.

* Ratchet: Ratchet is a lombax, a self-taught mechanic who dreams of travelling to other worlds in search of fame and fortune; to that end, he is building a ship -- one which needs a robotic starter unit. He rescues Clank, who happens to have that capability, and thus the team is forged.

* Chairman Drek: Chairman of a company which polluted the Blarg homeworld until it became uninhabitable except by toxic sludge-monsters. He has a plan to replace it, however...

* Captain Qwark: He is the Hero of the Universe and Savior of the Galaxy -- if you believe his advertising. Ratchet figures that the best way to save his home from Drek is to get Qwark to do it.
