==History==
AnthroAsia was originally established on September 7, 2004 under the name '''AnthroMalaysia''' and the forums were hosted at [[Wikipedia:InvisionFree|InvisionFree]]. Roughly two weeks later the forums found a new home at ''AnthroMalaysia.info''. To reflect the increasing diversity of its membership, around July 2005 it was renamed to AnthroAsia.

==Services==
The AnthroAsia website hosts a [[Wikipedia:MyBulletinBoard|MyBulletinBoard]]-powered community forum with 110 members (the majority of whom reside in the Southeast Asia region) and counting. In addition, the website also offers to its members a small number of accounts for free e-mail and FTP webhosting.

In November 2006, the website portal was launched togather with an integrated gallery and blog service. An IRC channel on [[FurNet (IRC)|FurNet]] named ''#AnthroAsia'' was also launched in the same month. A few months later the A2Wiki was launched.

==Meetups==
AnthroAsia members have frequently organised meetups amongst members in various cities including [[Wikipedia:Kuala Lumpur|Kuala Lumpur]] and [[Wikipedia:Singapore|Singapore]]. This included the 2005 AnthroAsia Annual Meet also known as ''3AM'' which was organised in Singapore.

I don't know how to edit a wikipage, but I just wanted to point out that I believe Rhea Loche is a character of Uniform Vixen on FA. Er, this is Rhea Loche/Miriafox. I'm not Uniformvixen, and she doesn't play my characters. I've had Rheas as a separate character since inception, but I am a close friend of UV, and have known her for years (thus they've drawn me a few times). No one is claiming that Miriafox is an alt of Uniform Vixen, from what I've seen on the page. Instead, it's saying that Miriafox assumed the identity of Uniform Vixen's character.[[Special:Contributions/67.159.45.52|67.159.45.52]] 15:27, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm getting this article locked because you're clearly just doing this to attempt to cause problems. Rhea is my character, has been since inception, and UV knows this and can in turn confirm this.

:I think perhaps some mention regarding how some people see hermaphrodites as little more than sexualized caricatures, when many herms that I know prefer not being characterized as a sex object. Many herms prefer their sex to be considered no different than aperson of the male or female sex.

My concern re: the abbreviation section (I added the NPOV template) is about the "misunderstanding" comment - I'm not sure it demonstrates anything other than a desire not to write out really long words constantly. I can imagine it was in reference to the personal rant that 98.17.5.217 made on 27 December 2007. The information didn't belong on the Hermaphrodite page because it involved gender identity of humans, which I don't really see directly relating to this topic, especially when the pages for [[Transgender]] and [[Transsexual]] exists. Perhaps it can be replaced with something like... "Don't confuse this with transgender" or whatnot, but I also removed the "intersex" thing by the same user (98.17.5.217) because there's a thing at the head of the page, directing the user toward wikipedia for intersex regarding humans. Just explaining my edit. The article seems cleaned up to me, but I'm not sure how this wiki works, so I'll leave that there. [[User:Nexnix|Nexnix]] 13:11, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Shemales are not hermaphrodites for the most part (see wikipedia). They have female characteristics, but carry the male sex and lack the female. I'm not sure why 'shemale' links to here.
