The site's material on furries is generally about what's considered the worst of the [[fandom]], and like most articles on the site, it is intentionally offensive, and many users display strong [[anti-furry]] sentiment. The site's material on furries is generally about what's considered the worst of the [[fandom]], and like most articles on the site, it is intentionally offensive, and many users display strong [[anti-furry]] sentiment. However, not all of its users are anti-furry, and ED claims it only makes broad generalizations of the [[furry fandom]] and portraits all furries as sexual deviants because it is, according to ED, far more humorous and interesting to read about something scandalous and shocking.{{fact}}

In 2011 [[Equivamp]] proposed '''Kansans Improving Furry Fandom''' ('''KIFF''' or '''KIFFcon''') a proposed [[coffee meet]] in [[Wikipedia:Chanute, Kansas|Chanute, Kansas]] that was originally going to start on June 11st, 2011, postponed to May 2012, and not having taken place in 2012.

The furmeet was planned for a way for furries in the area to meet local furs in a safe environment, as well as provide the [[Furry Fandom]] better publicity and introduce others to the "true" fandom. It will be hosted either at the Chanute Public Library or the Fire Escape Coffee House and feature discussions on [[anthropomorphic]]s in movies, literature, and the media, as well as how to clean the image of the fandom in the eyes of the media. It will also feature [[art trade]]s, food, and general chatting. Unlike many furry gatherings, the media will be encouraged to attend.

ED doesn't use "the same liscense (sic) as WikiFur." ED's content isn't licensed under CC-BY-SA 3.0. The host dropped ED because it violated [http://www.securedservers.com/aup.php their AUP]. If anything, the DMCA was just a wake-up call, since they apparently don't visit any of the websites they host unless someone calls their PR department. In addition, CloudFlare isn't a webhost. IIRC, Girlvinyl only DMCA'd her article and not the entire site. I'm not even sure if it's necessary to report every bit of downtime ED has. It's certainly important to us now, but would it mean anything years from now? '''Spreebok''' (most commonly 'Spree') is a [[Wikipedia:Devon|Devonshire]] [[fursuit]]maker who lives in [[Wikipedia:Exeter|Exeter]] in the United Kingdom. She is currently single and in her own words it's 'a lot less hassle!' She is a small time moderator on the [[Ukfur]] forums, manning the 'Constructive Critique' subforum. She claims it's the most underused forum on the boards.

She often says that she had been a closet furry since she was a very young child, but only discovered the furry fandon at the age of 13. She paid it no heed, until the age of 15, when her boyfriend at the time discovered the infamous [[Encyclopedia Dramatica]] article. In an attempt to defend furries from his abuse, she got talking to a local fur, and before she knew it she was embracing the fandom. She didn't fully take flight until she turned 16, and was able to sign up to the [[Ukfur]] forums, and it wasn't long before she took an interest in [[fursuit]] making.

Spreebok is excited to attend her first convention later this year, however, she claims she wouldn't travel to any outside of the UK, because she hates travelling!

Spreebok is a big animal lover, and has kept a vertiable menagery throughout her life. These include Dogs, Cats, Gerbils, Hamsters, Rats, Guineapigs, Rabbits, Tropical and Cold Water Fish. Her current pets are a pair of Cats, a Black Laborador, a pair of longhaired Guineapigs, two tropical fish tanks, one coldwater fish tank, and the newest addition to the group, a Snow Corn Snake by the name of [[Wikipedia:Dave Lister|Lister]].

== Fursona ==

Spree's [[fursona]] is a Tan, White and Black [[Kangaroo]]/[[Wikipedia:Springbok|Springbok]]-[[hybrid|mashup]]. Originally the character was a Springbok inspired, Antelope like creature, with a dogs muzzle and sharp teeth. This was changed a few months later to a creature with four horns, canine feet and hands and a long, kangaroo like tail. This design was kept for about a year, until Spree decided it was time to plan a Spreebok fursuit. She had been a bit unhappy with the character for a while, so decided to give her an over haul. She is now officially a [[Kangaroo]]/[[Wikipedia:Springbok|Springbok]]-[[hybrid|hybrid]], sporting a small pair of horns, large, kangaroo-like ears and large Kangaroo feet. Features that have remained throughout the process have been the large, black mane sprouting from the middle of the shoulders, the striped markings on the face, arms, legs and tail, the androgenous look and the large, monsterous grin. Unusually, for a hybrid of two herbivores, Spreebok sports a mouth full sharp, pointy teeth. When asked about the grin and the teeth, Spree usually replies 'Pfft, don't ask me, I don't even know!'. Spree is never drawn in a feminine way, which has caused confusion in the past as to her gender. Spreebok is female, but is very blokey and unlady-like, spending most of her time slouching, scratching, snoozing or looking grouchy. She does not have breasts, which is unusual for a female character, instead having a large poof of fur on her chest. Spree says that the reason behind this is that she is not very womanly in her mannerisms, so her fursona reflects that.

Spreebok was previously known as Drox, when she first entered the fandom, a character she has had from the age of 12. A small, orange [[Dragon]]/[[Fox]] [[hybrid]], Spree retired Drox after about 6 months in the fandom, as she felt that such a personal character deserved a bit of rest, and thus Spreebok was born.

== Conventions and furmeets ==

Whilst Spreebok is yet to attend a convention, she is attending [[Confuzzled]] 2011 in May this year, and will be in the dealers den, selling her fursuit related items alongside [[Shirik]]

Spreebok is a regular attender and organsier of her local [[Wikipedia:Exeter|Exeter]] [[furmeets]], and often runs meets which involve furuiting. She usually co-oraganises these meets with a local fur called [[Wolfie Danno]], and the turnouts are increasing by the meet!

== Fursuiting ==

Spreebok took to fursuiting like a duck to water. It was the perfect activity for her, thanks to her love of crafts, and her creative mind. So much so, that she and her good friend [[Shirik]] decided to open up their own fursuit building studio, under the name 'Hybrid Studios'. The name came about after Spree pointed out that their fursonas were both hybrid characters. It was intedned as a place holder, but it stuck and became their official name. Spreebok say's she enjoys making strange, odd looking creatures the most, as the deisngs are unique and inspiring! Spree was delighted have won 2nd place in the 2010 UKFur Awards 'Best Fursuit Builder' category, and said it was a massive confidence boost!

Her current fursuit is a Long Eared, Blue Goat by the name of Speckle, who is currently a partial. She features a very effective moving Jaw, Toony Eyes, a balaclava build and big, stompy feet. Speckle has proven very popular, and placed 4th in the 'Favourite Fursuit' category in the 2010 Ukfur awards.

At or around the time [[Jessica Elwood]] was hacked on DeviantArt, a group of users simultaneously began claiming that Jessica Elwood and Arden the Black are the same user. This apparently stems from an [[Encyclopedia Dramatica]] (a now defunct [[4chan]] related wiki and anti-furry troll website) article claiming that Ms. Elwood and Arden are one and the same, citing the fact that early posts of hers discuss speaking with Arden, receiving artistic advice, and the fact that their artistic styles were both similar to ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog]]''. This was proven to be false.

== Joining The Furry Fandom==

Blazger had joined the fur fandom around spring of 2005. His interests of the fandom was brought into effect, when his previous website hangout from a [[Digimon]] hentai group entitled digimon hentai zone, lead him to a forum website named http://www.furry-furry.com While there he started getting to know the dozens upon dozens of different furs that lived close to him and also whom lived in different countries. Realizing how big the fandom truly was, he attended his first furry convention was Midwest Furfest 2005 at the Haytt hotel in Schaumburg, Illinois. Since then he has attended many events and conventions in which to be with friends and have a good time.

== Lake Area Furry Friends==
Blazger previously attended local [[Lake Area Furry Friends]] (LAFF) meets, including [[LAFF Bowling]] and [[LAFF Softball]]. Blazger organizes a monthly meeting at Gameworks.

He is also a [[Second Life]] (SL) user, but rarely goes onto it.

He also helped host the [[LAFF New Year's Eve]] party in 2006, as well as cohosting one of the parties in 2007, then later hosted the parties himself in 2008 and 2009. News of a possible party or small new years convention for 2011 is in the planning stages.

Although no evidence was ever found to be accused of such actions, later questioning and evidence was discovered about the underage boy in question, as he had lied to everyone in a ruse to lower Blazger's "popularity". Once aware of her, she moved from her account ''BoltsBiggestFanEVER'' to ''MistyWolf97''. They stated friendship, yet Misty still persisted. She copied ideas that Onyx invented, like the collection and reasons lists, and drew up images similar to those created first by Onyx (like her fursona Misty holding ‘BOLT’s #1 Fan!’ flags and wearing shirts depicting the title, etc). After a year or so of protesting and moving from site to site with Misty following, Onyx eventually came over on top after Misty gave up, under the demise it was ‘a waste of time’. Misty and Onyx eventually gained friendship again and are now currently out of touch, for Misty knows not of Onyx’s new locations. She then went to Sumo Paint <ref>[http://boltsno1fanever.sumopaint.com Macey's old, abandoned Sumo Paint]</ref> and tried to start the whole thing all over again, being chased off by the entire community of the website. At this point, Macey gave up too, re-formatting her deviantART page and her fursona to match her new alias as Kat, ‘the world’s biggest fan of Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws’.
