:I will try to make this brief, but I'm not so sure how brief it will be. For that, I apologize in advance.

:The intent behind adding a list of users who are leaving FurAffinity is moot, and does not have any worthwhile informational value behind it. The fact that numerous people plan on or have left FurAffinity is not relevant to FurAffinity's history. That is relevant to the individual's history. If one wishes to write in the individual's article, "In 2006, [he/she] left FurAffinity," that is fine, because it is relevant to the individual. However, the fact that they left the FA community is not relevant to FA's global history.

:What I will contest is relevant, however, is that this had become such a scandal to the FurAffinity community, and thus, deserves historical notation. (I understand how pretentious it is to say "historical notation" on a Wiki, but you get my point :) So, I have decided to protect this article to prevent others from adding in this information, since the influx of people adding things to the Wiki will be great, I'm sure.

I attepted to leave a request on the FA LJ ask for anyone with information to post the artist's names, as I would assume that the majority of the people on there would have FA accounts and be watching people, and have prehaps seen other journals of people I do not watch, which state they are leaving/have left. :There is the question of what constitutes an artist leaving. Some have taken all their artwork down, others are leaving it up but won't be uploading anything new (and they could be subdivided into those who will still be checking in and those who won't). Some are leaving temporarily until filters are in place. And some are taking time out to see what happens and then decide whether to return or leave for good.
:Possibly relevant is that some users were still upset over a database upgrade about two weeks ago that caused all private mail messages to be lost. For many it was no big deal, but some users had important information about trades, commissions, etc., that was lost as a result. The issue of when the cub problems were brought up have occurred numerous times, starting well before August of 2006. The original issue exploded in the first iteration of Fur Affinity, brought up by myself, which originally lead to 8horns being banned and causing the cub rule to enter the TOS in the first place. It has been an ongoing issue on FA, and was started along with the site's birth, well before August 2006.

:::With regard to Fur Affinity, I don't see that any other choice was consistent with the site's initial promotion. If art of any rating depicting just about anything is allowed, then it becomes hard to justify being picky about a particular topic.

:::As for image, I think it's possible to worry too much about it. The people that matter will either get into the fandom or not, but only if they hear about it at all first. Plenty do so through things like [[CSI]], and I don't see that as a bad thing, even if the portrayal is inaccurate. It's unfortunate when (e.g.) a hotel uses that kind of work as a reason not to continue a contract, but as we've seen with Anthrocon there is no guarantee of hotel stability even if you do try to run the cleanest of ships.

:::Personally, I dislike lines. They tend to divide people. The furry fandom is big enough that there are places you can go if you like X and other places to go if you don't like X. There is no real need for the fandom as a whole to take a stand on any particular issue. The whole ''reason'' there are different stands is that different segments of the fandom have different views, and you can't just cut a segment out of the pie and keep calling it the whole pie. Dragoneer got upset and removed Alkora from the admins; in retaliation, Alkora requested the site's hosting provider to pull the plug. The section of this article discussing the 2008 Outage resembled an out-of-date news article more than an unbiased, basic presentation of facts, and I have pared it down as such. Who users PMed during the down time, what kind of issues FA had with buying the equipment, what the error message looked like etc are trivial details that are considerably "not encyclopedic". Yes, the forums were up, but that's like saying WikiFur's LiveJournal or Tapestries' website was up - the main deal was out of commission for more than a month. There is a precedent in the coverage of [[Yerf]], which went down for a couple of months in mid-2006, and was noted as such - and the expectations of uptime for Yerf were, by then, far less than for FA. FA has had a turbulent period in the time leading up to the outright failure, no doubt. However, the way the site reads is that we "gave up" and shut down running the community for that month. I don't think it's quite accurate of a portrayal. That's not to discount the events of Failoutage, but I disagree with the portrayal. What we have posted here is still accurate, considering the community is both FA, the forums, the gaming wing and many other facilities that are a part of Fur Affinity.
:::As for the other... there were shipping delays. That's all matters in the end. And it wasn't just CDW, it as HP and DHL to the bone. Discussing the failings of the shipping companies could run into multiple paragraphs if the true events had been accurately described in the original entry, but it wasn't. If you want to show the reasons for the delays, just link that there were significant "shipping delays" out of Fa's control, and reference the posts on FA's forums that contain further details. Otherwise it just becomes filler to the article of what amounts to "Fur Affinity was offline for over a month due to catastrophic hardware failure and extended shipping delays in obtaining replacement parts."

I herd that it's due to XSS expoits more then Gawker - Anyone got a valid source to this? - Supposely Dragoneer clicked on a link inside a ticket which then sent his cookie information to the user.

It is the exploits, lulz.net is DDOS fa. No that is not how it happened, the hacker(victim's brother) posted up a ton of screenshots of how Zaush used his popularity to get the girl in a situation where she got raped and because of dragoneer's involvement in the situation fa is getting attacked because of how he tried to get sweep it under the rug instead of calling the cops on the guy. Pretty much lulz.net is planning on continuing the attack so long as dragoneer is site owner and are not going to let up one bit on the attack until he resigns.
In short dragoneer is taking us down with him instead of just resigning for his actions.

I was scrutinising FurAffinity's Wikifur page on its history when I got confused on one part.

So one of the paragraphs says FurAffinity raised enough money through 2005 for a new server but it did not come online until mid-2006. But the paragraph below then says FurAffinity came online in December 2005 - isn't that when they're apparently fundraising? Is FA's resumption during the 2005-2006 period in end-2005 or end-2006? == Internal Policy Update ==

On May 19th, 2023, the site "directors" decided it was time they update their internal policy regarding section 2.7 of the Acceptable Upload Policy that will go into effect on July 1st, 2023. While the policy itself has not changed, their internal policy will now apply section 2.7 to Pokemon and Digimon characters and more globally consider anatomy/proportions as well as context when determining if a user's submission(s) does or does not violate AUP section 2.7.

This created an explosion of negative reactions on their Discord server over how "vague and unhelpful" the wording of the announcement is. Staff updated the post a little later to try to make it more clear, but discussions still remained largely negative and focused on how it is still vague and lacking clear descriptions of where the dividing line is.

Staff are trying to do damage control and take people's feedback into consideration for creating a "document" outlining a what is safe to post, but this is an ongoing discussion in their Discord that has forced moderators to close two prior threads already for one reason or another. The discussion spilled over onto Twitter too, and some users posted journals on FA voicing their thoughts and opinions on the topic.

In short, this is like the third time the old August 2006 controversy was touched, the second time being November of 2010.

:There is the question of what constitutes an artist leaving. Some have taken all their artwork down, others are leaving it up but won't be uploading anything new (and they could be subdivided into those who will still be checking in and those who won't). Some are leaving temporarily until filters are in place. And some are taking time out to see what happens and then decide whether to return or leave for good.
:Possibly relevant is that some users were still upset over a database upgrade about two weeks ago that caused all private mail messages to be lost. For many it was no big deal, but some users had important information about trades, commissions, etc., that was lost as a result. The issue of when the cub problems were brought up have occurred numerous times, starting well before August of 2006. The original issue exploded in the first iteration of Fur Affinity, brought up by myself, which originally lead to 8horns being banned and causing the cub rule to enter the TOS in the first place. It has been an ongoing issue on FA, and was started along with the site's birth, well before August 2006.

Plenty do so through things like [[CSI]], and I don't see that as a bad thing, even if the portrayal is inaccurate. It's unfortunate when (e.g.) a hotel uses that kind of work as a reason not to continue a contract, but as we've seen with Anthrocon there is no guarantee of hotel stability even if you do try to run the cleanest of ships.

Discussing the failings of the shipping companies could run into multiple paragraphs if the true events had been accurately described in the original entry, but it wasn't. If you want to show the reasons for the delays, just link that there were significant "shipping delays" out of Fa's control, and reference the posts on FA's forums that contain further details. I herd that it's due to XSS expoits more then Gawker - Anyone got a valid source to this? - Supposely Dragoneer clicked on a link inside a ticket which then sent his cookie information to the user.

It is the exploits, lulz.net is DDOS fa. No that is not how it happened, the hacker(victim's brother) posted up a ton of screenshots of how Zaush used his popularity to get the girl in a situation where she got raped and because of dragoneer's involvement in the situation fa is getting attacked because of how he tried to get sweep it under the rug instead of calling the cops on the guy. Pretty much lulz.net is planning on continuing the attack so long as dragoneer is site owner and are not going to let up one bit on the attack until he resigns.
In short dragoneer is taking us down with him instead of just resigning for his actions.

== Internal Policy Update ==

On May 19th, 2023, the site "directors" decided it was time they update their internal policy regarding section 2.7 of the Acceptable Upload Policy that will go into effect on July 1st, 2023. While the policy itself has not changed, their internal policy will now apply section 2.7 to Pokemon and Digimon characters and more globally consider anatomy/proportions as well as context when determining if a user's does or does not violate AUP section 2.7.

This created an explosion of negative reactions on their Discord server over how "vague and unhelpful" the wording of the announcement is. Staff updated the post a little later to try to make it more clear, but discussions still remained largely negative and focused on how it is still vague and lacking clear descriptions of where the dividing line is.

Staff are trying to do damage control and take people's feedback into consideration for creating a "document" outlining a what is safe to post, but this is an ongoing discussion in their Discord that has forced moderators to close two prior threads already for one reason or another. The discussion spilled over onto Twitter too, and some users posted journals on FA voicing their thoughts and opinions on the topic.

In short, this is like the third time the old August 2006 controversy was touched, the second time being November of 2010.

There is not a whole lot I can say about myself, at least nothing I may call positive at any rate. To be sure, I know I have some good qualities, but I am not sure what they are anymore and there isn't much I can do to make a bibliography to bring them to light if I can't remember what they are.

I have some affliction with ADHD, I can control it to a point. I can't focus on anything except my computer or a game for more than ten minutes without getting bored.

I can also be a stickler for spelling and detail. In fact, I think that may be one of the good things I can remember now as I write this. I have written several fanfiction stories previously in high school, both of which earned me good comments about college english professors. At this time though, only one of them is still online. The others went down with their host when the webmaster's service period expired.

For at least 5 or 6 years now, I have been involved with [[LylatRPG]], formerly known as StarFoxRPG. In that time I have managed to help form some of what it is today in indirect ways, the most direct of which was when I used to serve as a GM for one of their groups. At this time I play only one character in the RPG out of the original four I had for it. My fursona was originally one of these characters and has since become my more prominent self as I found the fox to be "me".. It a far deeper attachment than just a personality.

In elemental terms, my personality could be closely matched to fire and lightning. I am reactive more than proactive, can have a temper, am emotionally sensitive, have nervous spells (agoraphobia) in unfamiliar locations and crowds, and also forgetful of some things. However, on the other side of the coin, once I have adapted to my location, these flaws level out and I become more social and outgoing as I adjust to my new surroundings.

My fursona was originally one of these characters and has since become my more prominent self as I found the fox to be "me".. It a far deeper attachment than just a personality.

In elemental terms, my personality could be closely matched to fire and lightning. I am reactive more than proactive, can have a temper, am emotionally sensitive, have nervous spells (agoraphobia) in unfamiliar locations and crowds, and also forgetful of some things. However, on the other side of the coin, once I have adapted to my location, these flaws level out and I become more social and outgoing as I adjust to my new surroundings.

There is not a whole lot I can say about myself, at least nothing I may call positive at any rate. To be sure, I know I have some good qualities, but I am not sure what they are anymore and there isn't much I can do to make a bibliography to bring them to light if I can't remember what they are.

I have some affliction with ADHD, I can control it to a point. I can't focus on anything except my computer or a game for more than ten minutes without getting bored.

I can also be a stickler for spelling and detail. In fact, I think that may be one of the good things I can remember now as I write this. I have written several fanfiction stories previously in high school, both of which earned me good comments about college english professors. At this time though, only one of them is still online. The others went down with their host when the webmaster's service period expired.

For at least 5 or 6 years now, I have been involved with [[LylatRPG]], formerly known as StarFoxRPG. In that time I have managed to help form some of what it is today in indirect ways, the most direct of which was when I used to serve as a GM for one of their groups. At this time I play only one character in the RPG out of the original four I had for it. These are the named characters from the ''[[Star Fox]]'' series. Although some had fairly limited roles, they each had a part in shaping the storyline, and in some cases, the gameplay.

He was presumed killed by Andross, and this death is what motivates Fox during portions of the game. In the SNES comics, James was reported as KIA during the creation of a black hole by the premature detonation of a bomb which Andross made, while in ''Star Fox 64'', James was betrayed by his teammate Pigma Dengar, resulting in his capture. He was then given to Andross who killed him. At the end of ''Star Fox 64'', James' phantom guides Fox out of Andross's exploding base, thus saving him from certain death. He makes an appearance in ''Star Fox: Assault'', with his voice being manipulated by the Aparoid Queen. He next appears as a playable character in "Star Fox Command" in the "Dash Makes A Choice" stage, which questions his actual "death." In the F-Zero series he appears... as a human and not as a "furry" character. During the events of Star Fox 64, it is implied that his biggest difficulty, at the age of 18, is to gain the trust of his comrades, but shows himself to be a competent and skilled leader whom gains respect from them all.

He believes himself to be the best pilot in the system and often tries to one-up Fox, which sometimes backfires and lands him in trouble.

His piloting skills are lacking and he gets enemies on his tail quite often because of his ineptitude at dog fighting- he makes up for this with his technological aptitude, enemy shield analysis during combat, and steadfast courage even when obviously fearful. Most incarnations of him make him appear whiny and irritating, a subject for the fans' occasional comments that he be thrown out an airlock and forgotten. At one point his gender was questioned and a [[VG Cats]] comic was released to make light of it. In ''Star Fox Assault'' however, he takes on a more masculine voice and becomes less whiny, a respite that was welcomed. Amusingly, he also tends to get his girl faster than Fox does.

* '''[[Peppy Hare]]:''' A middle-aged [[hare]] which serves as the team's eldest and wisest member. He represents the common sense of the Star Fox team and tempers their skill and eagerness into something useful. After the events of Star Fox 64, he retires from flying to be a mapmaker and consultant to the team, giving advice to Fox and acting as a father figure throughout the series, not just in terms of battle and warfare, but additional wisdom in terms of trust, friendship and (in reference to Fox and Krystal) the importance of love. After the events of Star Fox: Assault, General Pepper steps down from his position as General, and Peppy takes up the reins, generally cited as a determined, wise and beneficial military figure.

* '''[[Krystal]]:''' Originally the Damsel in Distress from ''Star Fox Adventures'', she joined the team after her rescue and became a pilot. Her telepathic abilities were used as a plot device in ''Star Fox Assault'' and it was hinted through the cutscenes of ''Star Fox Adventures'' and ''Star Fox Assault'' that she and Fox are attracted to each other in a romance, though it is only directly mentioned once in ''Assault'' in a cutscene where Tricky and Fox argue over it, much to Krystal's amusement. * '''Miyu:''' Not much is known about this character except for being a [[Lynx (species)|lynx]]. She is also one of two [[female]] characters that joined the Star Fox team in the ''Star Fox 2'' plot. Neither she nor Fay are seen in any other games aside from the SNES ''Star Fox 2''.

He was the designer of the destruct virus Star Fox used to vanquish the Aparoid Queen on its home world.

One of the endings in Command shows Amanda joining Star Fox as a member, however it has been stated that ''none'' of the endings in Command are canon, making it unclear whether Amanda even exists or not.

* '''Lucy Hare:''' Lucy Hare is Peppy's daughter who makes her debut in Star Fox: Command. She is a physics teacher who teaches on the planet Fichina, which is where she is found in the game. She pilots a fighter called the "Sky Bunny" and at one point Command you can choose to go to Corneria as Lucy, eventually saving Corneria from an Anglarian sneak attack (with help from Krystal, Katt, and Amanda).

* '''Dash Bowman:''' Dash is a young [[ape]] in the Cornerian Air Force and a child prodigy who makes his debut in Star Fox: Command. He pilots a fighter called the "Monkey Arrow" and shows up in the story of Command at different points. It is revealed that Dash is in fact the grandson of Andross and he wishes to continue where his grandfather left off, but this time for good (or so he says). One ending has Dash restoring Venom and being at peace with Corneria. Another has him turning to the path of conquest of Lylat, taking up his grandfather's place and using their new resources to begin constructing an army; another has him joining Falco Lombardi's Star Falcon unit.

*'''Fara Pheonix:''' Fara is Fox McCloud's girlfriend in the original Star Fox comic. However, Andross had mistaken her for Vixy Reinard, Fox's mother, due to wearing the wedding dress Vixy used to own. This led to a kind of confessional that enraged Fox and resulted in the discreet retreat of Andross from the battlefield.

*'''Vixy Reinard:''' Fox's mother in the original comic and even then only seen in a photograph in Fox's room. Andross had affections for her, and he despised the fact that she was married to James. In an effort to correct that problem, Andross planted a bomb in James' car in an effort to get rid of him. == Team Star Wolf ==

Fan fiction stories mostly set the stage for this rivalry by describing that he may have been Fox's friend in the Cornerian Flight Academy, a friendship that somehow grew strained and eventually broke as they became rivals and Wolf left the academy for various reasons - fanon often has Fox responsible for Wolf's missing eye, which may also be a reason for this rivalry. He is hired by Andross to be a countermeasure to the Star Fox team and given the Wolfen star fighter, which was meant to be superior to Star Fox's Arwing - later, after defeat at their hands, Andross commissions several successors to the Wolfen in the form of the Wolfen II starfighter, technologically superior to the Arwing, making their second defeat that much more bitter. Out of all the Star Wolf members he is worth the most money on the wanted poster, implying he is the best pilot of Star Wolf.

In ''Star Fox Assault'', Wolf joins forces with Fox to defeat the aparoids. They are supposedly killed when distracting almost-unbeatable aparoids so Fox can fight the aparoid queen, however, at the end Fox reveals Wolf and his team survived. This is believed to be his last canon appearance to date, as ''Star Fox Command'' is suggested to be non-canon, given its various endings.

* '''Leon Powalski:''' A chameleon with a grudge. He is often described as Falco's counterpart, if only for his soft-spoken, yet cold and chilling, demeanor. Fanon often has him described as violent and cruel to a degree that even puts Wolf on the back foot. It is implied that he may also work as an assassin and torturer, and may have a long history with Falco from his Hot Rodder days. His ship in Command is a modified Wolfen whose unique cannon charges and tracks enemies to a rather annoying degree. Out of the Star Wolf members, his bounty is worth the least cash on the wanted poster, which is surprising, if only for the fact that he has been a member since Wolf formed the team.

* '''Panther Caroso:''' Pigma's replacement after he had been kicked out of Star Wolf. Panther is naturally a [[Panther]], not to mention a ladies' man who tends to target Krystal with little to no effect. His first appearance is in ''Star Fox Assault'' as a skilled pilot who would apparently do better if not for his flagrant habit of wooing females in general. He was quoted saying that "All who see my rose meet death", implying that he uses a rose as his calling card upon victory over another. During Command, he tends to show flagrant self-absorption that leads him to speak in 3rd person, and pilots a modified Wolfen with a powerful, if slow, single-shot laser cannon. Out of the Star Wolf members he is worth the second most on the wanted poster, implying he is the second best pilot in Team Star Wolf, and somehow more dangerous than even Leon. He seeks a romantic relationship with Krystal, with one non-canonical ending of ''Star Fox Command'' leading to this outcome.

* '''Andross:''' The major final boss for most of the Star Fox titles. The fight against his usually consists of 2 parts: first destroying his attack ship (Arrowhead) and then attacking him directly by first destroying his protective orbs and then attacking his red glowing "lantern" on his head.

* '''Captain Shears:''' A villain that appeared in the Star Fox comic that took place between Star Fox 64 and Star Fox: Adventures. Shears was in command of a Research base on Titania, which discovered a genetic remnant of Andross. The captain went mad, hatching a plan to revive Andross. However, Katt Monroe and her team discovered this plan, and tried to stop him. She even managed to contact Falco for assistance. At this time, Star Fox was called by Shears about Katt and the others, misleading them by saying they were servants of Andross. His deception led to a dogfight between Fox and Falco, while Andross' revival was underway. After some explaining, Fox entered the base in a attempt to stop Shears; but it was too late. He believes himself to be the best pilot in the system and often tries to one-up Fox, which sometimes backfires and lands him in trouble.

His piloting skills are lacking and he gets enemies on his tail quite often because of his ineptitude at dog fighting- he makes up for this with his technological aptitude, enemy shield analysis during combat, and steadfast courage even when obviously fearful. Most incarnations of him make him appear whiny and irritating, a subject for the fans' occasional comments that he be thrown out an airlock and forgotten. At one point his gender was questioned and a [[VG Cats]] comic was released to make light of it. In ''Star Fox Assault'' however, he takes on a more masculine voice and becomes less whiny, a respite that was welcomed- amusingly, he also tends to get his girl faster than Fox does.

He represents the common sense of the Star Fox team and tempers their skill and eagerness into something useful. After the events of Star Fox 64, he retires from flying to be a mapmaker and consultant to the team, giving advice to Fox and acting as a father figure throughout the series, not just in terms of battle and warfare, but additional wisdom in terms of trust, friendship and (in reference to Fox and Krystal) the importance of love. After the events of Star Fox: Assault, General Pepper steps down from his position as General, and Peppy takes up the reins, generally cited as a determined, wise and beneficial military figure.

* '''[[Krystal]]:''' Originally the Damsel in Distress from ''Star Fox Adventures'', she joined the team after her rescue and became a pilot. Her telepathic abilities were used as a plot device in ''Star Fox Assault'' and it was hinted through the cutscenes of ''Star Fox Adventures'' and ''Star Fox Assault'' that she and Fox are attracted to each other in a romance, though it is only directly mentioned once in ''Assault'' in one cutscene where Tricky and Fox argue over it, much to Krystal's amusement. She tends to hold Fox in high regard, as both a friend and leader, and is a skilled enough pilot to hold her own in space combat- throughout Assault, she is attacked less than the other members of the team. Fan fiction stories mostly set the stage for this rivalry by describing that he may have been Fox's friend in the Cornerian Flight Academy, a friendship that somehow grew strained and eventually broke as they became rivals and Wolf left the academy for various reasons - fanon often has Fox responsible for Wolf's missing eye, which may also be a reason for this rivalry. He is hired by Andross to be a countermeasure to the Star Fox team and given the Wolfen star fighter, which was meant to be superior to Star Fox's Arwing - later, after defeat at their hands, Andross commissions several successors to the Wolfen in the form of the Wolfen II starfighter, technologically superior to the Arwing, making their second defeat that much more bitter. Out of all the Star Wolf members he is worth the most money on the wanted poster, implying he is the best pilot of Star Wolf.

In ''Star Fox Assault'', Wolf joins forces with Fox to defeat the aparoids. They are supposedly killed when distracting almost-unbeatable aparoids so Fox can fight the aparoid queen, however, at the end Fox reveals Wolf and his team survived. This is believed to be his last canon appearance to date, as ''Star Fox Command'' is suggested to be non-canon, given its various endings.

* '''Leon Powalski:''' A chameleon with a grudge. He is often described as Falco's counterpart, if only for his soft-spoken, yet cold and chilling, demeanor. Fanon often has him described as violent and cruel to a degree that even puts Wolf on the back foot. It is implied that he may also work as an assassin and torturer, and may have a long history with Falco from his Hot Rodder days. His ship in Command is a modified Wolfen whose unique cannon charges and tracks enemies to a rather annoying degree. Out of the Star Wolf members, his bounty is worth the least cash on the wanted poster, which is surprising, if only for the fact that he has been a member since Wolf formed the team.

* '''Panther Caroso:''' Pigma's replacement after he had been kicked out of Star Wolf. Panther is naturally a [[Panther]], not to mention a ladies' man who tends to target Krystal with little to no effect. His first appearance is in ''Star Fox Assault'' as a skilled pilot who would apparently do better if not for his flagrant habit of wooing females in general. He was quoted saying that "All who see my rose meet death", implying that he uses a rose as his calling card upon victory over another. * '''Andross:''' The major final boss for most of the Star Fox titles. He is an ape that was kicked out of the Cornerian Defense Force's Research and Development division when his experiments turned monstrous and dangerous - it is also implied in comics that it is he who was responsible for the death of Fox's mother, by way of a car bomb originally meant for James McCloud. His sanity was questioned and when he finally snapped, they banished him to the barren planet named Venom, where he raised an army and attempted to take over the Lylat System. Fox McCloud and Star Fox were hired by General Pepper in the first two released games to take him down, and in ''Star Fox Adventures'', Fox ran into Andross again when he revealed himself to the younger pilot atop the Krazoa Palace. In spirit form, Andross trapped Krystal inside a crystal and used her energy to use the Krazoa spirits to revive himself, but was destroyed by Fox with help from Falco. In Star Fox Command, Andross is approached with a different light, starting with the fact that it is implied that he died of natural causes AFTER the events of Star Fox 64, rather than being killed by Fox; the encounter with him on Sauria is entirely disregarded. However, ''Command'' is implied to be non-canon as it has different endings to it. It is revealed that the experiment Andross was banished for was a device to purify Venom, and after his defeat on the same planet, he finished the device and left it on Titania. This is revealed to Fox and company through Krystal, Peppy, or Beltino, depending on which path is taken. While the last two provide a more neutral-to-negative stance on Andross, Krystal appears sympathetic to him and considers his banishment unjust; it is unknown where she got her information, however. Andross is also implied to have a sister and a daughter, taking into account the existence of Dash and Andrew. These relatives are not mentioned, however, nor is Andross' first name (he is reffered to as Dr. Andross in the earlier games, making "Andross" his LAST name)

* '''Pigma Dengar:''' Pigma is Peppy's own personal nemesis. He used to be a wing mate in the Star Fox team until Pigma sold them out to Andross, allowing James and Peppy to be captured in the Star Fox 64 storyline. He is a very greedy swine whose love of money is exceeded only in his care for his own life. In short, his greed and selfishness make him unreliable - a characteristic that lead to Wolf severing connections between him and the team (though in "Star Fox Command", he still considers them his friend, enough to spare their lives during their boss battle with him). In ''Star Fox Assault'' Pigma is a storyline plot device used to progress the story until he is turned into a boss and is apparently killed by Star Fox in an asteroid belt. During the events of Command, it is discovered that he was NOT killed, as was originally thought, until Falco Lombardi finally eradicated the Aparoid-infected threat. However, it is implied that ''Command'' is non-canon.

* '''Andrew Oikonny:''' Andrew is Slippy's counterpart, weak and simple-minded. His comments have more bark than his lasers have bite. He also appears to be somewhat over-sensitive, as although he is normally fairly eccentric, he almost "freaks out" whenever he or Andross is insulted by Fox and company. While he may not be nearly as whiny or weak as Slippy used to be, he is still a pushover in most respects, and unlike Slippy, his demeanor becomes no less annoying or different as the series progress. In ''Star Fox Assault'', he manages to gain control of the remnants of Andross's army and names himself Emperor of the Lylat System just before his ship is destroyed by a plasma beam from an unknown alien from above. Later, during Command, he becomes a cronie for the Anglar forces, and considers himself to be superior to all opposition, despite the fact that he fights as an underling. Command is often viewed as non-canon, making it possible that he was killed by the aparoid in Assault. His relationship with his second cousin, Dash Bowman, is unknown, though he refers to himself as "the one true heir" to Andross' throne, implying he doesn't even know of his existence (taken into account, however, that was said in Assault, and Dash was not created until Command). It is interesting to note that both Andrew and Dash appear to be wearing yellow scarves around their necks, though any symbolism this may have is possibly accidental.

* '''General Scales:''' The main villain of ''Star Fox Adventures''. He was manipulated by Andross at one point to give Fox the Krazoa spirit he held. Before that point though, he was the unquestioned tyrant who sought to rule Dinosaur Planet with fear and his literal iron claw. He even meets Fox a few times and interferes with Fox's attempts to restore the planet to its whole form. Although the needed stones were put in place, the Krazoa spirits were needed to put the planet back together; this is where Scales interfered by capturing a spirit, which resulted in Andross's intervention and lead to his uneventful and unceremonious death.

* '''Emperor Anglar:''' The main villain of Star Fox: Command. Spawned from the seas of Venom, his intentions are a lot like that of Andross: rule the Lylat System by attacking all of the planets with his army. The fight against his usually consists of 2 parts: first destroying his attack ship (Arrowhead) and then attacking him directly by first destroying his protective orbs and then attacking his red glowing "lantern" on his head.

* '''Captain Shears:''' A villain that appeared in the Star Fox comic that took place between Star Fox 64 and Star Fox: Adventures. Shears was in command of a Research base on Titania, which discovered a genetic remnant of Andross. The captain went mad, hatching a plan to revive Andross. However, Katt Monroe and her team discovered this plan, and tried to stop him. She even managed to contact Falco for assistance. At this time, Star Fox was called by Shears about Katt and the others, misleading them by saying they were servants of Andross. His deception led to a dogfight between Fox and Falco, while Andross' revival was underway. After some explaining, Fox entered the base in a attempt to stop Shears; but it was too late. Andross had awoken, killed the captain, and attempted to kill Fox. Luckily, they managed to escape and destroy the base. After they left, Andrew Oikonny arrived to save his dying uncle, and instructed him to take him to Sauria.

Of the four statements published by the group, two were by [[Squee Rat]], one was by Peter Schorn, and the last was by Mike Beebe (as shown at http://burnedfur.mv.com/main.html). In point of fact, Eric's personal commentaries on the fandom as a whole were well-known for years before Burned Fur existed.

The group was composed of, in the words of Squee, "furs who have spoken up against fandom perversion and been 'burned at the stake' for it." Most of these disputes occurred on USENET in the [[:Category:Newsgroups|newsgroups]] [[alt.fan.furry]] and [[alt.lifestyle.furry]].

Negative press coverage of the fandom, including articles in which furry convention attendees discussed these and other sexual practices with reporters, as well as their intent to use the conventions to promote their lifestyles, caused further distress amongst those not wishing the fandom as a whole to be associated with such practices. Many originally-prominent members of the fandom left or otherwise sought to hide public knowledge of their involvement with the fandom in order to avoid possible backlash in their personal and professional lives.

It was in this pre-existing atmosphere of mutual intolerance that the debate over the furry fandom's public image was waged, and subsequently buried under rampant acts of (often mutual) demonization. Burned Fur was, if anything, a symptom of the schisms that had been raging in the fandom to that point.

=== Burned Fur beliefs ===

Many disputes over the exact nature of Burned Fur beliefs arose. The group was often accused of wanting to impose some sort of anti-sexual vision on the rest of the fandom despite many members of the organization being creators of furry erotica. Certain members of the group were intolerant of [[gay]]s, [[Christian Furs]], obscure fetishes, and/or [[erotic]] artwork; these were generally held up as [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.furry/msg/9117856b21766d68 examples of overall Burned Fur ideology] by various of the group's opponents. For example, when Burned Fur founder Hangdog made [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.furry/msg/c42bd69572b99236 homophobic and libelous remarks on alt.fan.furry in August 2000], he refused to apologize for them. The only Burned Furs to comment on this did not denounce him, but rather [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.furry/msg/5076f22e1476d5a4 made excuses ] for his behavior.

In more general terms, the Burned Furs were intolerant of persons promoting their unusual [[fetish|kinks]] or ideologies via the press, particularly when this gave the appearance of representing the [[furry community]] as a whole.

Throughout the Manifesto, Squee Rat made clear that personal fetishes and unusual lifestyle choices were not a problem if kept as a private matter, in private areas and within the law; she opposed the public flaunting of what most would consider socially-unacceptable behaviors. In particular she derided the small minority of fans who insisted that a person could not be "furry" without, for example, having an "animal spirit" or practicing [[Veganism]].

Many critics considered Burned Fur a hate group due to the Manifesto's harsh tone and the production of a number of t-shirts bearing the slogan "I don't have a lifestyle, I have a life".

The group was mentioned in underground media articles with ''Disinformation.com'' and the ''Philadelphia Weekly'' (in the latter case, four years after the group effectively dissolved). Burned Fur has also been written up in Lore Sjöberg's now-defunct ''Brunching Shuttlecocks''.<ref>''[http://www.brunching.com/furries.html Fur]'' - Lore Sjöberg, [[Wikipedia:Brunching Shuttlecocks|Brunching Shuttlecocks]] (15 August 2002)</ref>

In the case of the ''Disinformation'' and ''Weekly'' coverage, the focus of the articles was about the sexual fetishes to be found in the fandom, with Burned Fur being mentioned specifically as opposition to these practices. The ''Weekly'' author ended with the hope that the Phillie Phanatic (a sports mascot) would be abducted and gang-raped by fursuiters at a convention. The ''Disinformation'' author concluded his article with the statement that furry fandom "truly has something for everyone...to stare at with a peculiar mixture of horror and intrigue".

The latter author later wrote an article for the ''Greenwich Village Gazette'' attacking certain of the [[Reform Party]]'s Election 2000 candidates, including Burned Fur member [[Scott Malcomson]], who was running for Governor in Arizona. The author also attacked him for roleplaying a unicorn character on [[FurryMuck]] and drawing erotic furry art.

=== Threats of violence ===

Burned Fur was often accused of threatening and making physical attacks against their opponents, including death threats and sabotaging convention events.

One known case of a Burned Fur actually threatening an opponent was the maintainer of the Burned Fur homepage, who during a heated flamewar in 1998 said he would "put his fucking head through a wall" if he ever met [[Xydexx]] at a convention.<ref>[http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.furry/msg/18f4519fb193dec1 Xydexx rec's "Threat of Violence?" Judge for yourself.] 1999 April 28 post by Hangdog on [[alt.fan.furry]]. Burned Furs also displayed intolerance for Eric Blumrich: [[Hangdog]] threatened him on the Yerf newsgroups and was summarily banned: "[http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Talk:Eric_Blumrich The next time I see you I will kill you with my bare hands]." Burned Fur [[Scott Malcomson]] noted that Blumrich "hates, apparently, for the sheer pleasure of hating," and noted Blumrich's extremist attitude was one reason many Burned Fur members left the group.

Despite these two incidents of heated words, no Burned Fur ever attacked any person, nor were the sabotage claims ever supported beyond allegations.

As soon as Burned Fur launched, it was subjected to harsh criticism. Some of the opposition joined a group called [[Freezing Furs]], which considered Burned Fur a hate group. Other opposition groups included [[Nonaligned Furs]] and [[Furry Peace]], which were formed on the basis of inclusion and non-alignment in the factional conflicts. Aside from producing websites and link buttons meant to indicate solidarity amongst members, none of these groups are known for having done anything specific to advance any particular agenda.

By the time Burned Fur was founded, individual convention-goers were already boycotting [[ConFurence]] due to lewd behavior that the convention's organizers insisted on turning a blind eye to. CF was finally turned over to Burned Fur member [[Darrel Exline]] in 1999, resulting in the claim by Burned Fur members Hangdog, Scott Malcomson, and Major Matt Mason that this would make it a "Burned Fur convention.". Many who believed that Burned Fur existed to "kick all the degenerates out" shied away from the convention altogether. Attendance levels continued to decline until ConFurence officially closed its doors on April 27, 2003.

By about 2001, the Burned Furs had faded into history, many of them having [[Leave The Fandom|left furry fandom]] altogether, and the countergroups formed to oppose them became defunct by default.

== Points of discussion ==

Ironically enough, once abandoned, the original "Burned Furs" website was picked up by a [[pornography]] merchandiser. Some claim it was because the domain contained the name and keyword "furry", but there has never been any evidence of this. As soon as Burned Fur launched, it was subjected to harsh criticism. Some of the opposition joined a group called [[Freezing Furs]], which considered Burned Fur a hate group. Other opposition groups included [[Nonaligned Furs]] and [[Furry Peace]], which were formed on the basis of inclusion and non-alignment in the factional conflicts. Aside from producing websites and link buttons meant to indicate solidarity amongst members, none of these groups are known for having done anything specific to advance any particular agenda.

By the time Burned Fur was founded, individual convention-goers were already boycotting [[ConFurence]] due to lewd behavior that the convention's organizers insisted on turning a blind eye to. CF was finally turned over to Burned Fur member [[Darrel Exline]] in 1999, resulting in the claim by Burned Fur members Hangdog, Scott Malcomson, and Major Matt Mason that this would make it a "Burned Fur convention.". Many who believed that Burned Fur existed to "kick all the degenerates out" shied away from the convention altogether. Attendance levels continued to decline until ConFurence officially closed its doors on April 27, 2003.

By about 2001, the Burned Furs had faded into history, many of them having [[Leave The Fandom|left furry fandom]] altogether, and the countergroups formed to oppose them became defunct by default.

Ironically enough, once abandoned, the original "Burned Furs" website was picked up by a [[pornography]] merchandiser. Some claim it was because the domain contained the name and keyword "furry", but there has never been any evidence of this. Having been an effort in process since 1999, the first part was released in 2001, with Part 2 being released in 2003 and both the finale and full compilation (or "The Movie") DVDs being released in 2010; all three parts have been released on Region 1 DVDs which have almost exclusively been distributed by Perry at conventions. A soundtrack CD was posted to Amazon in 2002, credited to Bruce Yarnell (who is also a voice credit in the series).

Altogether, the series/movie runs for nearly an hour.

Brittany and Gina Diggers travel to a cave in the Grampian Mountains of England to find the Time Raft of Merlin, eventually running into a group of stone monsters to which they lay waste.

Going further into the cave, Dreadwing (professing himself as Swiftwing) sends two of his elf servants, Tark and Mesha, to subdue and apprehend the protagonists, eventually succeeding at this through using magic weaponry. The girls later wake up from unconsciousness at a banquet table (Brittany having awoke to find that she has inexplicably changed back to human form for the next 24 hours), only to find Dreadwing daintily sipping a teacup. Dreadwing explains that he needs their help in accessing the Time Raft, given that Merlin never gave him the instructions on how to unlock it, and then wins their cooperation by handing them sumptuous solid-gold coins and objects. They're given a room in the cave to sleep for the night, and they discuss both the possibility of Swiftwing being a bad dragon with sinister ulterior motives for giving up any gold and Brittany's desire to go to Africa to find any remains of her ancestor people; meanwhile, just outside the room, Tark and Mesha discuss whether or not to kill the girls to prevent the Raft from being unlocked.

The plot follows Sabrina through her life in general, and her trials, most of which are social in nature. Her relations with the other cast members can at times turn humorous, such as when her employer drops in to cause her own unique brand of trouble which usually involves some flirtatious efforts to get Sabrina into a more "active" lifestyle - by Zig Zag's way of thinking, anyway. Eventually, Sabrina finds a boyfriend, and one thing leads another, which leads to the bed, in an awkward yet humorous set of strips. Zig Zag finds out through observing Sabrina's behavior the next day and adds even more comical material when she practically makes a scene of her "women's intuition", much to Sabrina's embarrassment. In [http://www.sabrina-online.com/strips/SabOnline163.GIF Strip 163], it is revealed that Sabrina lives in Columbus, Ohio, and R.C. Raccoon lives in Springfield, Ohio. They discovered this after both driving an hour each to meet each other at Midwestcon in Cincinnati.

Sabrina was initially apartment roommates with [[Amy the Squirrel|Amy]]. This arrangement evolved into a family friend relationship after Amy married [[Thomas Woolfe|Thomas]] (but not before giving birth to little [[Timothy Squirrel-Woolfe|Timmy]]).

Situations in the comic do not involve on-camera violence or sex scenes, only light swearing. It does contain "tasteful" nudity (no showing genitals or nipples, they are hidden by fur) and some comical mischief. This is never more accurately depicted than in the fact that Sabrina is ''never'' seen wearing normal pants, although she does seem to wear what looks like multiple sets of "pants" that look like her naked lower half (depicted in the strips published in September of 1998). This appears to be accepted without comment by all, including Sabrina's younger sister - presumably others do the same.

There is not a whole lot I can say about myself, at least nothing I may call positive at any rate. To be sure, I know I have some good qualities, but I am not sure what they are anymore and there isn't much I can do to make a bibliography to bring them to light if I can't remember what they are.

I have some affliction with ADHD, I can control it to a point. I can't focus on anything except my computer or a game for more than ten minutes without getting bored.

I can also be a stickler for spelling and detail. In fact, I think that may be one of the good things I can remember now as I write this. I have written several fanfiction stories previously in high school, both of which earned me good comments about college english professors. At this time though, only one of them is still online. The others went down with their host when the webmaster's service period expired.

For at least 5 or 6 years now, I have been involved with [[LylatRPG]], formerly known as StarFoxRPG. In that time I have managed to help form some of what it is today in indirect ways, the most direct of which was when I used to serve as a GM for one of their groups. At this time I play only one character in the RPG out of the original four I had for it. My fursona was originally one of these characters and has since become my more prominent self as I found the fox to be "me".. It a far deeper attachment than just a personality.

In elemental terms, my personality could be closely matched to fire and lightning. I am reactive more than proactive, can have a temper, am emotionally sensitive, have nervous spells (agoraphobia) in unfamiliar locations and crowds, and also forgetful of some things. However, on the other side of the coin, once I have adapted to my location, these flaws level out and I become more social and outgoing as I adjust to my new surroundings.

'''Markus McCloud''' is a player in [[LylatRPG]], where his [[Red Fox]] [[fursona]] originated. He is a regular attendee of [[Anthrocon]] from 2004 to the present, and is a [[WikiFur]] [[WikiFur:Administrators|administrator]]. He was a TP staffer on a now defunct MUSH called "Dark Horizons". His current residence is in the US State of Virginia.

== The Character ==
The character itself is a male Red Fox. Its original concept was created in a Star Fox fanfic entitled '''''Gate To Another World'''''. In the first champter, the character was introduced in the delivery room as the first born child between Fox and a vixen named Lora. He later got vaulted from one dimension to another through a freak accident that trashed his ship and rendered him unconcious. Gate To Another World was about 15 chapters long. Through web hosting issues and data corruption, the final version of the fanfic was lost and the physical backup disks contain only the first 11 capters with chapter 11 being largely incomplete.

Gate To Another World served as a basis backstory for converting the character into the LylatRPG format when the RPG was simply called LEST1 (Lylatian Elite Strike Team). It is here that the character gained a reputation for being a little stupid and somewhat irresponsible, going so far as to cause a fight in a lunch room when the earphone cord for his GameBoy tripped someone as they passed him. His last appearance in the LylatRPG under the LEST1 name had him in enemy hands as a POW with a rescue effort being organized. At that point LEST1 as an RPG ended and the LEST world was rebooted. The character was also ported into the Star Fox MUSH as a second cousin to the lead title character.

Just three months before Anthrocon 2004, the character's association with Star Fox and all connections to Fox McCloud and his family tree were entirely cut. The character is currently little more than a fursona whose current artwork is themed "If Real Life Was Furry" and as such uses real life locations and events as backdrops. Original work of the character from its time as a LEST character still exists online.

There is not a whole lot I can say about myself, at least nothing I may call positive at any rate. To be sure, I know I have some good qualities, but I am not sure what they are anymore and there isn't much I can do to make a bibliography to bring them to light if I can't remember what they are.

I have some affliction with ADHD, I can control it to a point. I can't focus on anything except my computer or a game for more than ten minutes without getting bored.

I can also be a stickler for spelling and detail. In fact, I think that may be one of the good things I can remember now as I write this. I have written several fanfiction stories previously in high school, both of which earned me good comments about college english professors. At this time though, only one of them is still online. The others went down with their host when the webmaster's service period expired.

For at least 5 or 6 years now, I have been involved with [[LylatRPG]], formerly known as StarFoxRPG. In that time I have managed to help form some of what it is today in indirect ways, the most direct of which was when I used to serve as a GM for one of their groups. At this time I play only one character in the RPG out of the original four I had for it. My fursona was originally one of these characters and has since become my more prominent self as I found the fox to be "me".. It a far deeper attachment than just a personality.

In elemental terms, my personality could be closely matched to fire and lightning. I am reactive more than proactive, can have a temper, am emotionally sensitive, have nervous spells (agoraphobia) in unfamiliar locations and crowds, and also forgetful of some things. However, on the other side of the coin, once I have adapted to my location, these flaws level out and I become more social and outgoing as I adjust to my new surroundings.

'''The Shaggy Dog''' is a movie first produced in 1959 by Walt Disney starring Fred MacMurray as Wilby Daniels, a mail carrier that gets turned into a shaggy Bratislavian sheepdog after a small accident at a museum involving a table covered in ancient rings.

In 2006, Disney produced an updated remake of this 1959 classic starring Tim Allen as District Attourney Dave Douglass. When Dave comes home one day to a shaggy dog in his home, he agitates it when ordering it out and gets bitten on the hand. Unknown to him, this dog carried a rare genetic mutation that a pharmaceutical company was exploiting to increase the lifespan of humans and worse, this mutation is transmittible by contact with the body fluids of the "infected". Soon afterward, Dave finds himself turning into a dog.

While neither movie is furry-oriented, they are both comedies and classic family films.

There is not a whole lot I can say about myself, at least nothing I may call positive at any rate. To be sure, I know I have some good qualities, but I am not sure what they are anymore and there isn't much I can do to make a bibliography to bring them to light if I can't remember what they are.

I have some affliction with ADHD, I can control it to a point. I can't focus on anything except my computer or a game for more than ten minutes without getting bored.

I can also be a stickler for spelling and detail. In fact, I think that may be one of the good things I can remember now as I write this. I have written several fanfiction stories previously in high school, both of which earned me good comments about college english professors. At this time though, only one of them is still online. The others went down with their host when the webmaster's service period expired.

For at least 5 or 6 years now, I have been involved with [[LylatRPG]], formerly known as StarFoxRPG. In that time I have managed to help form some of what it is today in indirect ways, the most direct of which was when I used to serve as a GM for one of their groups. At this time I play only one character in the RPG out of the original four I had for it. My fursona was originally one of these characters and has since become my more prominent self as I found the fox to be "me".. It a far deeper attachment than just a personality.

In elemental terms, my personality could be closely matched to fire and lightning. I am reactive more than proactive, can have a temper, am emotionally sensitive, have nervous spells (agoraphobia) in unfamiliar locals and crowds, and also forgetful of some things. However, on the other side of the coin, once I have adapted to my location, these flaws level out and I become more social and outgoing as I adjust to my new surroundings.

'''''Roomies''''' is a webcomic created and drawn by [[Dan Canaan]]. It features his own character Flinthoof Ponypal, or "Flinters" as he is also known, and a full cast of recurring characters.

Roomies was introduced in May 1999 and delved immediately into the somewhat-freakish sitcom existence of Flinters, room mate [[Tibo]] the [[tiger]], their megalomaniac computer, their pet [[ferret]]s, and others.

In March, 2008, the author officially announced his intention to close the strip for good, once there are enough to justify a fourth book edition of Roomies. The total number of individual comic strips will be 1200. In its place he will be doing a darker comic, "Scavengers."

The final strip was uploaded on November 21st, 2008. A month later the artist posted confirmation that he is done writing the comic and will move on to Scavengers which is tentatively slated to start in January of 2009 <ref>[http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/547158/ Roomies.... is over] Posted by Flinthoof on December 9th, 2008.</ref>. The final strips have relocated all of the main cast to Mars.
