July 2010 hacking
On July 9th, at or around 3 PM EST, Jessica's DA account was hacked. The hackers proceeded to post guro images of self mutilation, retarded "meme" in jokes, then deleted all her uploaded images, changed her DA status to "Dirty Beaner", locked her password and then got her banned from the site. This appeared to be in response for posting pictures claiming them to be of her on her normal deviantart account and picture account, only to later tell people she had been posting pictures that were not of her at all (see above). It is not at this time clear if the hackers were from 4chan/ED, or if the entire thing was a hoax. This article is taking a neutral position on the matter.

At the same time, a DA troll began posting accusations that Jessica Elwood is really "Arden the Black" on every deviation and post they could find in relation to her. (Arden the Black was an artist that used to post images to the former Playmouse Yahoo group, and whose artwork can still be found on the Playmouse web site via the search feature. He also used to post on the VCL with the name Arturo Juarez, but has deleted his directory long ago.) The DA troll also repeatedly gave out the name "Jessica Jazmin Colaneri" in an attempt to further a racist attack against Ms. Elwood. Again, this name has only a few results on Google, all related to 4chan and ED's attempts to troll or pirate Jessica Elwood's works.

Jessica's Fur Affinity page is still online and untouched.

In July of 2010 it was revealed that Jessica Elwood had been posting picture of herself online that turned out to be of someone else entirely. After the similarities between the pictures posted and pictures of another woman, known as "Camerella", Jessica then admitted on her DA account that the images were in fact fake (as shown in the top screenshot). Later, Camerella was notified on Twitter of what had happened, and posted on Facebook (shown in the bottom screenshot) that they did not in fact know Jessica Elwood, casting doubt on Jessica's admission and demonstrating that the photos were probably stolen.
