WarringtonFurs is a monthly furmeet based in Warrington, United Kingdom. It was established in 2017 to provide a social space for the local furry community. The meet is known for being easy to reach via major transport links.

Overview
Warrington Furs operates two gathering formats:
* Main Meets: Held on the fourth Sunday of every month at the Hideout Tiki Bar & Terrace.
* Mini Meets: Hosted at Geek Retreat Warrington on alternating dates for smaller social gaming sessions.

The meet is near Warrington Central and Warrington Bank Quay stations. It is also accessible via the M6, M62, and M56 motorways. Attendees must follow a Code of Conduct to attend meets or join community chats.

History
Origins (2017–2018)
Adros and Drian developed the idea for Warrington Furs during ConFuzzled in 2017/2018. The first gatherings were informal and took place at The Friar Penketh, a Wetherspoons pub. Early meets did not allow fursuiting because of venue rules.

Reorganisation and Growth (2023–2025)
After a period of solo leadership by Adros, Ruki and LapisWolfe reorganised the meet. ShadeDawg joined the leadership team during this time. This led to more structured monthly meets and a move to venues that allowed fursuiting.

Doughnut Wuff joined the staff in mid-2023 to help ShadeDawg with operational work and the management of the official website. In 2024, the meet moved to a "Staff" and "Crew" structure, with LapisWolfe stepping down to Crew level. ShadeDawg and Doughnut Wuff took over the main organising of the event, with shared responsibility for the social media accounts and the website. Around this time, Fractal Fox joined the Crew team alongside Auxenon, ZephyrDerg and MintyChee.

Under their leadership, Warrington Furs grew to approximately 300 members. This growth caused several venue changes:
* Gravity Social: The first scheduled venue allowing fursuiting. The meet left after the venue changed its policy on fursuits.
* Geek Retreat: A last-minute replacement used to maintain the monthly schedule.
* Level Up: A larger venue used until it closed down in late 2024 or early 2025.
* Hideout Tiki Bar & Terrace: The current home of the main meet since March 2025.

In July 2025, MintyChee was promoted to Staff, with Atlas and AcerDog joining the Crew team.

Leadership Transition (Late 2025–Present)
In September 2025, ShadeDawg and Doughnut Wuff stepped down from their roles, citing separate personal reasons. Following their departure, LapisWolfe returned to the Chair team alongside Ruki and MintyChee. Nebula, Fish, and Lyrafox joined the Crew team to assist with operations.

In 2026, Lyrafox was promoted to the Chair team. The "Mini Meet" format at Geek Retreat was also established around this time to provide additional events. The name was also changed from Warrington Furs to WarringtonFurs in late April 2026 to fit with branding.

Organisation
The meet is run by a volunteer committee with two levels: Chair (Staff) and Crew.

History of WarringtonFurs
Early WarringtonFurs
Around 2017/2018, during Confuzzled, Adros and Drian had a meeting to discuss a proposal about a furmeet in and around Warrington. Which later became WarringtonFurs. The meets at first were more of an informal gathering of people in the local Wetherspoons, called 'The Friar Penketh'. There was no suiting due to venue policy, and Adros was believed to be the solo lead.

After a change of circumstances, Adros removed the WarringtonFurs Telegram group chat, which was recovered and handed over to Ruki.

Old WarringtonFurs
After a revival by Ruki, new staff were hired, with them being Shade and Lapis. Meets were still unscheduled gatherings but at other places around Warrington which allowed suiting.

Current WarringtonFurs (Around 2023-present)
Shade now takes a more chairmanship-like role in the meet. More staff were brought on the team, with them being Minty, Zephyr and Doughnut Wuff. Meets where? Now in set venues. The first one being Gravity Social, Warrington. The meet was growing way over 100 members at this point, and with the style of the venue not fitting with the LGBTQI+-friendly vibe the meet needed, it was later decided to move to a new venue, that being Geek retreat.

The meet was expanding membership quite quickly during mid-2024 to early 2025, which needed more staff as Atlas and Acer were brought on board. Due to venue suitability, the staff decided to move too Level Up, Warrington. A couple of months after some unforeseen circumstances, Level Up closed their doors. Which lead to in July of 2025, WarringtonFurs finally moved to our current home of Hideout Tiki Bar & Terrace, Warrington.

In September of 2025, Shade and Doughnut Wuff both left as explained above. In December of 2025, Nebula, Fish and LyraFox were promoted to crew, with Lyra joining the chair team in March of 2026.

Doughnut Wuff (born March 13) is a British furry, fursuiter, and community volunteer based in Blackpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom.

Active in the fandom since 2016, he is known for his wolf/fox hybrid fursona and his contributions to the organisation of UK furmeets and conventions, including MancFurs, WarringtonFurs, ConFuzzled, and Scotiacon.

Fursona
Doughnut is a wolf/fox hybrid, primarily blue and white with purple accents. His design includes purple and white ear tips and a purple muzzle, humorously nicknamed the "grape juice muzzle."

Fursuit
Doughnut's first fursuit was commissioned as a partial in 2020, designed and built by TheKraftyHyena, and included a head, hand paws, arm sleeves, and a tail.

In 2023, the head was refurbished by TheKraftyHyena with larger eyes, a refined fur pattern, and velcro eyelids. A bodysuit followed in 2024, accompanied by feet paws made by BuiltByAxel, completing the transition to a full fursuit.

Doughnut has since performed minor upgrades himself, including replacing the head liner and installing 3D-printed eye inserts with dye-sublimated mesh.

History
Doughnut discovered the furry fandom in February 2016 after coming across a fursuit dance video on YouTube.

In 2018, he founded BlackpoolFurs, running monthly meets until the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted events in the UK.

During 2020, he joined LeedsFurs and BarkadeFurs, assisting with digital platforms and community support. By 2023, he became involved with MancFurs, WarringtonFurs, and the Yorkshire Furs Summer Party.

Following a period of burnout, he stepped down from BlackpoolFurs, LeedsFurs, and BarkadeFurs in 2025 to concentrate on his more local and regional activities.

In November 2025, Doughnut accepted the position of Chairperson for MancFurs.

For a detailed overview of Doughnut's roles, see Community involvement.
